Shopping in Kalihi, Honolulu, Hawaii... My friend, Bruddah Fran, was looking for a particular t-shirt with a shaka sign in the middle of the word, "Aloha". He had seen the shirt in my photo at the Ohana Hale Marketplace location of The T-Shirt Outlet. When he went to look for it, they had sold out. I read his review and told him about this Kalihi location of the same shop. It's on the corner of King Street and Dillingham Boulevard and shares the free parking lot with Jollibee, Jiffy Lube, and S7 Icy Bubble. I figured that he didn't have time to go look for the shirt, so, I went on the hunt. I knew about this store because I had been there before. My sister was visiting from Colorado and wanted some Hawaiian souvenirs to bring back to the mainland. We happened to be at S7 Icy Bubble and saw this shop across the parking lot. It was filled from floor to ceiling with all kinds of happiness! We went crazy! I even had purchased a casual dress for myself which was perfect for traveling. The prices were good and the service was friendly and helpful! Shopping is really fun here! I like to look at the variety of merchandise - luggage, backpacks, fanny packs, tote bags, Aloha Shirst, baby outfits, shorts, jewelry, beanies, beach towels, and now... face masks! At 4 masks for $20, I found some popular sports teams that would make great gifts! I also found that "Aloha" t-shirt for Bruddah Fran!!! There were only 2 shirts left in his size, so, I scooped 'em up! Yippee! The price for 4 shirts is just $30. Bruddah Fran would say, "Dealages, yo!" Haha! If you want some bargains, take a look here! If they don't have what you want, check out the Ohana Hale Marketplace location, or even the Swap Meet at the Aloha Stadium! Share some local aloha all over the world with these useful gifts! You'll brighten up someone's life and help our 808 economy!

When I wen' try fo' score one t-shirt from dis t-shirt shop at da Ohana Hale Marketplace, but I wen' fail, cuz da shop wen' run out of dis cool t-shirt design dat Bruddah Fran was lookin' fo'. Luck fo' me, da FAMOUS Auntie - Nadine C. wen' tell me dat there was anoddah sistah t-shirt shop in Kalihi. I wen' ask da FAMOUS Auntie - 'Eh, where da buggah stay???? She wen' tell give me da scoops-(fruit loops), as she wen' tell me dat da place stay in Kalihi - (Ka-Lee-Heeeeeeeee)! Shooooooooooots! I go chance 'em da next time I stay in da area, & get time! So one day while I was workin' in da area, I decided fo' pop on into this local store, and upon walkin' into da shop, I wen' make one bee-line to da local t-shirt section fo' look fo' dat t-shirt! And you know what happened????? I wen' fail again! Ai-yai-yai!!!! (Insert da SAD PANDA face here!) Well, since I was already here............I figah I mine as well go buy someting fo' help dis local business out, as I saw da kine, - plenty face mask action. I figah da buggah is useful since we in one bad pandemic! Evvvvarybody need one mask! I wen' picks up a few a few of da mask action, and I must say da buggah was cheap! Da buggah was well made, and had all kine choice designs! Of course I nevah need any moa' mask, cuz Bruddah Fran already get plenty, so I mainly score 'em fo' my coworkers cuz us guys have been working throughout da pandemic, cuz us guys stay "essential workaz"! At da end of dis story, I wen' score my t-shirt! No, I nevah buy em'............Auntie wen' hook a Bruddah up!!! MAHALO Auntie Nadine! You da BESTEST!!! :D You get plenty ALOHA Auntie! MAHALO, as I goin' wear da hell outtah dis t-shirt till I get pukas all ova!!! Lol! Now if you had read the review I wrote (above), and don't have a clue on what I just said.............I will write da "mainland" version of my review (listed below) Lol! - When I was shopping for a particular t-shirt design I saw from the Ohana Hale Marketplace, I totally failed to get my t-shirt because the shop had ran out of the cool design that I was looking for. Luckily for me, my Yelp buddy - The FAMOUS Auntie - Nadine C. told me that this t-shirt shop has a sister location in Kalihi. Thanks for the info. Auntie Nadine C., I'll give them a try the next time I'm in the area, and have time. So one day, I just so happen to be working in the Kalihi area, so I decided to drop by this local business. Upon walking into the store, I made a bee-line path to the local t-shirt section to see if I could find that t-shirt I was looking for. And my results? Sadly, I failed again to find the t-shirt. Well, since I was already here at the store, I decided to help this locally owned business by buying some face mask, because they had a very large selection of face mask, and since we're in the middle of a very bad Covid-19 pandemic, a face mask can be deemed very useful. I ended up buying a few face mask, and I must say the price for the face masks was very reasonable. The face mask was well made, and they had an array of nice designs! Of course I didn't need to buy any face mask for myself, as I already had a lot of face mask, so I decided to buy these face masks for my coworkers, as we've been working throughout this entire Covid-19 pandemic, because we are considered "essential workers". Well, at the end of this story..........I finally got my t-shirt! No, I didn't buy the t-shirt that I was looking for, it was my Yelp buddy - Nadine C., who bought me that t-shirt! You're the BEST Nadine C.!!! Nadine C. has got a lot of ALOHA in her heart, and I will wear this t-shirt proudly till I get holes all over it! Lol!

Discovered this place out of the blue, wanted to pick up some poppers but they were closed for maintenance, and since I parked close by Dillingham T-shirt outlet, I stopped by. I went to the swap meat over the weekend and wanted to get a Hawaiian outfit for a friend's baby, I never made it around since it was too hot and I told myself I'll go next time. After checking out this shop and looking around I found a nice Hawaiian print outfit, I was able to find what I was looking for and more!! I am happy to discover this place, I plan to be back more often to get souvenirs needed for my mainland friends, relatives or for my next mainland trip. Its a short cut from going to the swap meat and will also save me time & money. Its like small swap meat in one shop with A/C plus opened 7 days a week. The lady who runs this small shop is very friendly and helpful , she mentioned that she also has booths at the swap meat. Dillingham T-shirt Outlet is located in this strip mall near Red Ribbon Bake shop. Its a very small shop, does feel crampy and not enough space to get to the items you want, but that didn't bother me. Once you enter, there are lots of merchandise on both sides, cash register is in the back. Credit card are excepted. The only difference shopping here and at the swap meat is sales tax. I noticed the prices are much cheaper than at the swap meat. ex. t-shirts are 9/20.00, at the swap meat they are 7/20.00. There are tons of merchandise, from t-shirts, long sleeve, tank tops, lots of t-shirts, tons of varieties, bags, luggage, towels, aloha shirts, aloha wear, slippers, shorts, swimming shorts, leis, accessories, and so much more. They are all great quality items even with tags. ( except for the t-shirts) Overall, finding this place out of the blue, I was happy to find what I was looking for and know exactly where to go in the future for my local/tourist item needs at a great price, all at Dillingham T-Shirt Outlet. Come check them out!! #5/100 for 2017

They are a sort of warehouse type store where things are on shelves stacked all over the store. However, everything is organized and the owner knows exactly what he has and where it's at. So, if there is something you are looking for, just ask! Most of their items are new, although they do have some slightly used items. (But most things are brand new) The prices here are great! My son picked up a wireless keyboard and mouse for $20! Brand new in the box. We found them online for $65 minimum!! They also have a large number of bikes of all kinds and sizes, kids ride on toys, baby items, patio furniture, home decor, and small kitchen appliances. You name it, they probably have it. If not, just ask and the owner will try and get it for you. They get new merchandise in regularly so it's worth stopping in to see what's new. They have a great page on Facebook that shows a lot of what they have as well as new arrivals. I highly recommend you come check them out for yourself or give them a call if there is something specific you are looking for.

I called, and they said that they had them. This place was just down the street. I liked it a lot. The best way to describe it is like a Japanese version of "Dollar General." prices are a little bit more than a dollar, but are very very reasonable. If you need something, there's a good chance they will have it. They have seasonal items, kitchen, wear, cups, dishes, items for the bedroom and bathroom crafting supplies, just a very, very good selection of "this and that. The store is spotless, and everybody was very friendly. I would come back in a heartbeat. Thank you! UPDATE: When I got back to California, I was visiting my sister. Her daughter was visiting from the East Coast, and they mentioned Daiso. I had no idea they were on the mainland, I thought it was just a "Hawaii thing." we went to the local store, and it was just as good as the store that I visited in Hawaii. Daiso is just overall a great store.

This store is located on a very busy corner of Piikoi and Young streets. If you are coming from the west and set your GPS, it will take you east on S King street, turning left on Piikoi, then left into the Daiso parking lot. Do not follow these directions! You cannot make a left turn into the parking lot because they have it chained off and closed. The only entrance to the parking lot is on Young Street. If you turn left on Young from Piikoi, you cannot turn left into the parking lot because there is a huge no left turn sign. I had to go down Young then turn around by Longs. Talk about frustrating. Finally got to the parking lot and saw a couple of open spaces. It is a small lot and spaces are pretty tight. There are signs saying to wait for the attendant as he directs cars. If there are no spaces available at the moment, you sit and wait for the attendant to direct you. Fortunately, I was able to grab one of the last 2 available spaces. From the outside, the store looks small but once you walk in and turn to the right, the aisles stretch the length of the building. The store is well stocked and clean. Somehow in this small space, they manage to not only pack in so many items but seems neater and more organized. I found what I was looking for which were silicone covers for bowls. The cashier that helped me was very nice and friendly and she did confirm that this location is smaller than the Pearl City store. Overall, I had a good experience here except for entering the parking lot. Best thing for next time if coming from the west, instead of coming down S. King St, come down Young St heading east and then turn right into the parking lot.

Don Quixote? The titular protagonist of Miguel de Cervantes' 17th-century Spanish novel, often considered the first modern novel? No, not him. Side-quest unlocked: Go to Don Quijote to looks at Trader Joe's-like bags and peruse affordable macadamia nuts. Imagine if a Japanese convenience store, Costco, Walmart, Japanese pop culture, and a late-night snack gremlin all moved into one building and decided to co-habilitate. That's Don Quijote, or as locals lovingly know it: Donki. Don Quijote is Japanese discount megastore in Honolulu where you walk in for one bottle of water and somehow leave an hour later with Japanese cheesecake, body wash, a rice cooker, novelty socks, a plush penguin, Spam musubi, an ankle brace, and at least one item that made you say, "Well, I've never seen that before." Every aisle is an adventure. It's part grocery store, part pharmacy, part souvenir shop, part beauty supply, part snack paradise, and part "why are they selling this and why do I suddenly need it?" The shelves are packed to the ceiling, the signage is loud, the deals are good, and the whole place feels like a treasure hunt designed by someone who drank three Red Bull Kyoho Grapes and said, "More products! More fun! No empty shelf space!" The Honolulu location is also gloriously open 24 hours, which means it serves a very specific and beautiful type of chaos: jet-lagged tourists like myself, night owls craving Japanese curry, and people making questionable but spiritually necessary 1:11 a.m. purchases. TL;DR, Don Quijote is less of a store and more of an experience. A slightly overwhelming and delightfully unhinged retail adventure.

I first saw this store when I went to Mei Sum across the street as I saw a wall of Funkos through the clear glass. The Scavenger's Vault is a small Funko specialty store that really has a wide variety of items that are brand new, hard to find, and probably some secondhand. You won't know it because ALLLLL the Funkos are specially encased in a quality plastic case with the store's name imprinted on top. Immediately there, you can see the care and pride the owners take for their items. Everything was super organized, clean, and easy to see. All the prices are very fair. Better than other places. And the variety is better! Better than the "other" store 5 minutes away. I seriously never bought anything from that store after several visits, but on my first visit to The Scavenger's Vault, I bought something! The owners are very friendly and nice, and kindly explained to me their business. They also have a stall at the Aloha Stadium swap meet and participate in various events.
