Easy location to stop by and check out second hand goods! Located in Iwilei, sharing a parking lot with Costco, you can easily see the storefront from the road. Lots of great selection. Staff are friendly and accommodating. Easy donation process too - just stop in and drop off your bags. No donation receipt given. read more

Great experience at Eco Town! Everything was clean and organized. My wife found some really good golf clubs! I'd definitely come back. Prices were reasonable. Service was decent staff didn't really interact much. One of my favorite thrift stores! read more

Let it go... When you have some items that you no longer use a trip to Eco Town should be your first stop as it could be rewarding more than you know though it's been awhile since I've taken anything to Eco Town and since the pandemic a lot have changed. First of all the many items they once have taken like kitchen ware (mugs, and some decor) and clothes (aloha shirts are still needed) they no longer accept. They do still take shoes and bags and plushies many items have shifted as the supply and demand have as well. Now knowing that i did have a few items that were pretty much brand new and they did take two of the three items which i wasn't surprised at all but one item they didn't accept was a huge disappointment but was glad that the other two were sold. Keep in mind that it's never going to be the price you have in mind but making the quick sale is a great option and Eco Town is that and who know you may find !something you like in return making it a great deal for items that is needed. Thank you! read more

Buying and selling in Honolulu, Hawaii... I noticed that my friend, Andy, would check in at Eco Town once in a while. I remember going there many years ago and buying a Hello Kitty purse with the tags on! I should take a look again! Located at the Dole Cannery in Iwilei, Eco Town shares its parking lot with Costco. Yellow Cab Pizza and L&L Drive-In are in the next building. I had a bunch of items to sell, but they weren't brand-name merchandise. The manager told me that they stop buying items at 5pm. He offered to let me leave my items overnight, but he looked quickly and didn't take anything. That's ok. I can donate my things tomorrow and get a receipt. I looked around and got ideas of what they're looking for. COACH, Vera Bradley, Louis Vuitton, Kate spade, LeSportsac, Jimmy Choo, Nike, and Michael Kors are some examples. I also saw Funko Pop, musical instruments, monitors, jewelry, and Squishmallows. I'll have to return! read more

Always passed by this store never gone in . Today decided to pop in since I was killing time . Lucky I did it's actually like a indoor swap meet selling new and used items . I seen Aloha shirts, watches , designer bags , sunglasses, IPads even TV. The beauty of this store they also buy your items if you have something that you don't use anymore and it's in good resalable condition. It's convenient and you don't have to go to the swamp meet to sell your items lol I seen some nostalgic Aloha Shirts and some collectors item like Michael Jordan's shoes . Service was friendly I was greeted right away when I entered. Support local read more

The local associate who works there has no knowledge of how much it actually worth and values of it at all. They need to study about it or at least find out on their own. Alamoana one is such a rip off too and it's almost like a scam. They give you so little but they sell it more than triple or more. You should bring it back to Japan and sell it, they know way better. read more

You never realize your clothes ain't worth anything till you try to sell them... What's your trash isn't really someone else treasure. It's a new year, I did some cleaning and packed all the clothes I no longer wear for a while. I used to have hard time getting rid of my clothes. But Marie Kondo says to ask yourself does this clothing piece bring you joy? if not, it's time to toss. If you haven't worn it for past 6 months will you really reach for it anytime soon? Sometimes we have those thoughts "oh i wanna wear that pink poofy skirt tomorrow" you search and realize oh, i tossed it.... but when you're lucky and you remember you really do like that skirt and it does bring you joy, you kept it refusing to part ways! Just me???? This is not a hoarder talking.... *eye rolls* I'm disappointed my stuff was only worth 10 cents even clothing items that's new with tags on... But hey I wasn't going to wear them and it was going to be donated anyway. I didn't want to sell my mini MK crossbody bag for $7.50, I used it once and paid $70ish for it... man hard times.... So I took it back and just gave it to my mom, she'll find a use for it. Selling 17 clothing items (even ones new with tags), I got a measly $3.50.. As they were looking through my things, I browsed the store and lots of the clothes were in worse condition then what I was trying to sell. It has 2 stars because the workers are friendly.... Morale of this, you'll get literally pennies for your stuff... Less hassle, I'm better off just going straight to donation center for all my unwanted clothes for a tax deduction slip. Which I did take the rest of the stuff they didn't wanna pay me 10 cents for.... They do however donate for you if you don't want to make the drive down yourself. I wanted the tax deduction slip. Just thought I get more for designer stuff but lesson learn to just give to my Asian mother, she'll figure out how to make my trash into her treasure. Like using my old clothes as a cleaning cloth/rag or something to absorb water for her air dry laundry. She's also cut out old fabrics and stitch them to things.... I'm not as savy and smart as her in those ways. read more

If you're looking for Funko pops, this has been one of my favorite places to find them. Great prices, good quality for pre-owned Funkos, and the shelving is pretty convenient. Even though the Funkos are layered behind each other, it's really easy to look through them without taking everything off the shelves. The only trouble is parking - beware busy hours at Costco as they share the same space (unless there's parking elsewhere I haven't discovered, haha). read more

Hubby and I stopped by Eco Town because my nephew spoke highly of it. It's located in the shopping center near Costco. When you arrive, there is someone at the door to let you in as well as let you out. As we entered, it does have the thrift store vibe but there's so much more to it than just clothing. There's electronics, music equipment, computers, VCR's, VHS recorder's, small kitchen appliances, housewares, shoes and kids stuff. We walked every aisle. The prices really do vary. As low as $2 and as high as $1500. Unfortunately, I didn't see anything that interest me on this visit. Maybe on the next one. read more

Wow, this place is good fun friend told me about it that it's Japanese kind of used store and they have a lot of cool little gizmos and gadgets and a very good price. They can buy some of your junk so you can forward new junk. Don't come here looking for something specific But come here and expect to spend money read more

Items are too pricey... some of items that was being sold didn't look the worth of the price on the tag..

Here is another consignment place that everyone is more than welcome to donate their items and see if they can get an appraisal or offer for their items being sold. However in the case that they don't take your items, they are more than happy to even donate it for you to Salvation Army. The only difference is that when eco-town donates your items to Salvation Army, you won't be able to get that tax paper form from Salvation Army themselves (if that matters to you or not). I recently sold my electronics items there. They don't ever take WiFi routers haha. Other than that, the employees are very friendly!! Greeting on your way in and out of the store. Heck, they even open the entrance door for you!!! How awesome is that ?! You could even find really good treasures there such a designer bags and accessories, musical instruments too! $1 clothing deals too:) Good luck and have fun in there! read more

Went into the store on 10/7 around noon time. Brought a few gundam figure boxes to get quoted/appraised. Walked in knowing EcoTown will low ball me but just wanted to know how much they offer to take it off my hands. Waited in the car for about 30 minutes before they called me. They told me the quotes/buy in price, low balled me, I did not like the prices so I left. No complaints. Brought it back home, no one touched it after that. Opened it on 10/12 to check everything and get things ready to sell. I found pieces from the arm are broken off (broken, not reattachable). The swore and cannon have switched placement. Meaning eco town staff stuffed it into a place that was not meant to be. The gundam body was not placed correctly, not all the way in the styrofoam to protect it. (Pictures attached) It's one thing to low ball me and another thing to break my things and not tell me about it. I learned my lesson to not sell to/get quotes/appraised things by Eco Town but also double check your items BEFORE leaving the store. read more

Always good service coming here! Love it!!! Taka the manager is attentive to questions and very accommodating!!!

BUYING: Usually really love the selection! I'm not a huge fan of the women's clothes section because it's not the most organized and the brands are all over the place (but lots of Banana Republic, Anne Klein, etc. as well as nameless brands). There used to be a lot of household items like plates and silverware, but the most recent time i went (end of July), the selection became very small. The section I like the most is the bags & jewelry - I found a vintage Dooney & Burke bag that I use almost every day now, for around $40 once. They have some good brands hiding if you're willing to search, or other big named brands like LV, Furla, Kate Spade, Chanel, etc. in the display cases. They also sell men's clothes, shoes, electronics (dvd players, stereos, cameras), musical instruments, plushies/dolls/figurines, sunglasses, home appliances, etc. SELLING: .... I understand that in order to get the cheap prices that we all love, you need to pay an even cheaper price to buy them off of the sellers. But I don't think I would ever come to Eco Town to sell my stuff unless it was my LAST RESORT and other places like Plato's Closet didn't take them. I once brought about 2 bags worth of teen clothes - all brand name and popular. They ended up buying about 10 pieces, and gave me around $5 for all of them. A pair of unworn hollister shorts was only worth $.50 apparently. I'm only giving 4 stars instead of 3 because I've been happy with my purchases here, enough to overlook the bad parts of the selling. During COVID-19, the door is locked, so if you wanna go in you have to get the attention of a worker to open the door, and again before leaving. read more

A good place to shop clothes, but not a very good place to sell your items. Unless you don't mind getting 30% of the selling price and it seems like they based it of the lowest selling price they could find. when i found out that they buy Funko Pops, I tried selling them 15 of my Pops which is $8-$20 lowest resell value when i checked the ppg online. I was expecting to get at least $50 for them but they offered $30 for all 15. Basically $2 ea and i had to decline the offer. Most of their items is overpriced for used item esp. knowing how much they are getting it for. But i'm not to sure if you can negotiate the price since some of the ticket says open price? is that what it means? lol. A good buy here is branded clothes and shoes. They also have a $1 bin and like savers, they offer 50% off of the featured color tag of the week. What i've seen they're selling on their store: Funko pops, Anime Figures, Luxury Bags, Wallets, Golf gears, Pianos, Guitars, Ukeleles, A lot of new with Tag NFL tshirts (March2022), NFL jackets & ball caps, Michael kors wallet, Kate spade bags, Branded Sunglasses, Versace Bucket hat, Stuff toys, Stereos, Consoles, DSLR Camera Lenses, Hot wheels read more

Whoa Yelpers are sure harsh when it comes to Eco Town. I personally am not a thrift store kind of gal, but I am someone who loves finding a good deal. I'm not a big shopper other than my weekly grocery food haul, and sifting through piles of stuff to find something cheap is not my idea of a good time. I will totally pay more for convenience and ease. But if you're into reused goods Eco Town might still be worth checking out if you're curious and in the area. The upside is that the store itself is decently organized and they have a ton of goods. Everything from electronics to musical instruments to jewelry to cameras to clothes to random games and toys. I've been wanting to buy a new keyboard to play music and my husband thought I might possibly find something here but everything they had was very basic and dated. I agree with other Yelpers that for what you're getting it does seem a bit overpriced, but how else are they going to pay that Dole Cannery rent? I could totally see my 8-year old daughter loving this spot, because they've got a million accessories and finds that she'd totally enjoy begging me to buy... read more

I love eco-town! Where else can you bring your unwanted things and get cold hard cash back? Sure, you can donate your stuff to Goodwill or the Salvation Army or a plethora of other places. But why not get a few Pennies on the dollar? And I mean that. It is literally Pennies on the dollar. Seriously Eco town, you guys have a huge profit margin. Yes, I know you have to pay for your rent and employee cost and many other things but wow, you literally pay me like $0.50 and sell it for $10. That's a huge markup. But from my point of view, it's still better than nothing. In conclusion, if you're going to get rid of your stuff anyway, drop it off at Eco town and do some shopping at Costco, you'll come back with a few dollars which is enough to pay for some gas money. And they will donate the rest to a local charity. It's win-win because you get a few bucks and whatever they don't want goes to a local charity anyway. read more

If you like to browse and shop at Goodwill, Eco store maybe another option. It is located in Dole cannery close to Costco's tire shop. 2.5 stars. I'm taking a star away for the world's most annoying security door bell that greets you on your way in and again on your way out. Why is that thing so stinking loud and piercing?! I'm also taking away a star for the stench that is always lingering outside of that shop. It's likely not their fault, but it's pretty awful. I liked Eco Town better when it had the closeout shop, too. My husband likes it for the electronics and sometimes finds a good deal there. They do carry higher end clothing, but the selection is limited and there are no bottoms, which is kinda odd. The higher end name tags do come with higher price tags than most second hand stores, though. Not a place I'd drive to town for, but fun to check out if you're thrifting your way around the island. read more

Thrifting is my therapy. Finding good deals means saving money! So what about this store? It is more pricey than your average Goodwill or Savers, but it's true! They have good items here. But when I came here one day, with my sister and brother in law, he stopped at the shoe isle and he was surprised because of this particular shoe they had. But as he was looking, he noticed that it was fake and he knows it's fake because he owns those shoes already and he said "nevermind maybe what they have here are fake designers too!" He knows about shoes more than anyone cause he goes crazy for them. But really, there are more you can find except for designers, because if you're into anime this place is a good spot! If you like vintage, this is a place to go! So it really depends on your experience, you'll like it, and some won't. I just suggest to go in and try if for yourself! Take care. read more

I pass the store dozens of times and never went in. From the outside it just appears to be a secondhand store but I was a little surprised to see that it was secondhand merchandise, as well as some nearly new package merchandise. It ranged from things costing a dollar to high-end bags costing $1000. There are also a ton of old electronic and electronic cords available. The store was relatively neat and organized so it's easy to examine the merchandise. The only difficulty was in the bins were things had just been thrown in it was just a hodgepodge of different household items and stationary. In the back of the store there were also electronics that were partially working. If you like to tinker, this might be a good place for you to go to buy an old semi functioning dual cassette deck for $20. If you are a larger man, that is XL -XXL, There is a pretty good selection of Aloha wear. The smalls and mediums didn't really have a great selection. Most of the shirts in the smaller size were pretty worn. You're better off going to savers if you're looking for men's aloha wear. read more

I must preface this by saying, I'm a huge fan of thrift/used/vintage shops as someone's trash is another's treasure. You go in not knowing what you'll find, and some out happy when you find that item you can't live without. In a place as expensive as Hawaii, it's also a great way to save money on clothing and other goods that are lightly used. Seeing Eco-Town was coming, I was thrilled to come in and maybe add it to my rotation of thrift shops. Having now visited it, this place offers a treasure hunting experience at above-retail prices. Simply put, skip this place. I rarely read other reviews before writing my own, but I had to get confirmation in what I saw as a mystery: is this place really charging too much? After seeing they low-ball offers, I realized this place is trying to turn a big profit, not raise money for charities or find new homes for lightly used goods. I scrutinized all the items (collectibles, toys, electronics, etc.) that I usually enjoy buying and not a single price was even close to the item's worth. What planet are they living on? Who is the target demographic to buy these items? You're better off going to the nearby Savers, Salvation Army, or any of the other charitable non-profits in the area; you'll find much nicer items are reasonable to cheap prices. Move along... read more

If you have hoarded a lot of stuff and need to get rid of it immediately for cash, come here! Eco Town is located in the Dole Cannery across from Costco Iwilei. The store is on the outer part and visible from the parking lot. It has reserved parking to unload your things, and they provide a cart for you and also assistance to unload if you need it. The first time I walked into this store I was overwhelmed at the vast amount of things all around me. There were so much of everything! There was apart of me that wanted to just go crazy and buy whatever caught my eye, but I needed to stop and tell myself that I'm only here to sell my things. You can get cash back, or 20% more for store credit. I had a LOT of things to sell, and I've been here many, many times. The staff working here are super friendly, considerate, and helpful. They're also very thorough in their explanations of what they buy and the values and the reasoning behind their values. What I learned from this experience is that the bigger more "valuable" items, you won't get a lot of cash back. They have a system they use to check, and they just input the brand and the item and just use the price they're given. They won't do deep research on it. Surprisingly, the smaller, more random items, paid me more than what I would've expected. I think it's better to come try to sell your things and get something in return than just donating everything and get a tax deductible paper. Also, whatever they don't buy back, you can ask them to help you donate it, so you can get that tax deductible too. As for shopping around the store, Eco-Town does have a lot of different items from toys, clothes, designer handbags, tools, TVs, golf clubs, numerous household items, etc. After looking around, I wasn't able to find anything I need, or the hidden treasure. I noticed quite a few items are overpriced for a second hand store, but there are some that are great deals as well. Eco-Town has a lot more quality items than Goodwill or Savers, and if you need something specific, I think the chances are good finding it here. Overall, I had a good experience selling my stuff here. The staff are professional, thorough, and friendly. The store is just filled with different things for you to browse. I'll definitely come here first to sell my stuff. And hope to find the hidden treasure! read more

I am giving two stars for selling them things. I had to wait over an hour to have my things appraised. I was better off donating my items to Shriners ora worthy organization. Granted, I didn't have to take their offer, and in hindsight, I should have walked away and headed to Shriners. I had brand new items still in factory wrap. A bead container I bought for $15 yielded me $.75 at Eco Town. Not that I was looking for $15, but $5 would have been nice. Consider donating and taking the write off instead of selling your stuff here. You will be sadly disappointed. read more

Came here for the first time and wasn't sure what to expect. As I entered, I immediately became excited as I found out it was a thrift store! Apparently all the items in the store are from Japan. They had all sorts of things that I haven't seen in a long time like rollerblades, generic lame toys, old game systems, instruments including classical instruments, etc. They even sold judo gis for dirt cheap. I believe all the clothes aren't hand-me-downs and are instead, brand new. It's like a real thrift store, but the cleanliness of a TJ Maxx lol. The staff here are nice and there is a lot of parking. They are located in the same parking lot of Iwilei Costco, but towards the Dole Cannery side. read more

This place has been open for two years and I had no idea! As a practicer of sustainability I have been shopping at plato's closet, goodwill, savers, and garage sales. I had to grab tickets for a concert at one of the radio stations located in Dole Cannery and stumbled upon this gem. Right across of Costco there's a huge selection of everything from womens, mens, kids, furniture, shoes, designer bags, and everything in between. They hold bags in the front and give you a number when you return for your bag. They have one changing room. No bathroom. Plenty of lot parking, but since its next to Costco its a little rough trying to find that. The staff are really nice and friendly. Haven't tried to see what any of my clothes were worth, but definitely going to check them out when the time comes to purge my stuff. It's my new spot to go shopping so thankful I found them! I have been promoting them hard since I did! read more

I work around the area so I come here often on my break. The place has a ton of stuff which can get messy and crowded at times. The items are a little overpriced being that I've sold some used clothes and kitchen ware to them and knowing how much they bought it for (way under $1 each). They resell items for 120% more that what they bought it for. They have lots of clothes, kitchen ware, toys, collectibles, electronics, name brand items, etc.. Staff is always friendly. It's worth checking out if you're in the area, who knows you might find something you want. But as far as going out of your way to sell stuff to them, not so much. read more

It's smelly outside the store as if there's a sewage system nearby. The inside smells like a closet full of old dusty clothes and shoes. Items in here are on the expensive side for second hand items. I've seen Coleman folding chairs for $15. I got my brand new Coleman folding chair from Amazon for $17! Mine even has a tiny cooler built into the arm rest. They only accept brand name items, will pay you really low and mark it up really high. But the low payout doesn't matter if you would've donated it anyway. You can drop your things off, get a ticket, and have them call you when they're done putting your quote together. Eco town used to have a discount store adjacent to this, but it closed down recently. Cool/hip place to pick up some second hand/used items or sell some. This is a smaller version of their Japanese counter parts- WattMan Super Recycle Shop. Same mission. Buy, Repair and sell and old, vintage, reusable clothes/products for others to use and help reduce to the load heading to landfills. Location: Iwilei Rd. 1st floor at the old Dole Cannery facing Costco. Ample parking. The goods: Pretty good selection of miscellaneous items. Clothes (new looking and throwback), house hold goods, toys, decorations, and collectibles. I just came here to browse but walked away with an almost new Aloha shirt, aged Nike shirt and a Starbucks coffee mug. All reasonably priced. Not thrift store priced but still a bargain. Service: I thought they were friendly and helpful. I left the mug at the register. The young man chased me down all the way to my car to make sure I got it before leaving. Reminds me of Japan. Left my wallet at the bar. Bartender tracked me down 3 blocks. I think if you're selling stuff you got to be patient and not expect top dollar. Like pawn shops, Eco Town needs to make some money to keep the lights on and stick with the mission. There were 3 people in line selling their items. Looking forward to my next visit to stock and decorate my bland apartment. read more

The door speakers are $600 a pair Focals. And there were 2 pairs What the hell is wrong with these people.
