During an internet search of vintage shops in Oahu, Harbors Vintage stood out. So I had planned to make the drive to the Beretania St. location, until I happily found this shop inside the Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center which is just a short walk from my hotel. Super, SUPER clean and organized store! Every staff member at every visit was so nice and helpful, but never overbearing. They restock regularly so I couldn't help but visit often to check out what's new. On separate visits I found two Hawaiian shirts from the 70's in incredible condition for my son and daughter. But I was especially happy to find a United Colors of Benetton sweatshirt in pristine condition. Given the design and tag color, it most likely dates early 2000? Back in high school, this was a brand I could not afford unless it was a knock-off (which I refuse to ever buy) . So this by far was my favorite find for the nostalgia and memories it brought back. But now it also holds memories of my long stay in Hawaii. When my son spent Spring Break with his sister, they made sure to shop there together. Same level of friendliness, cleanliness and quality vintage items. They were happy to find a couple more shirts to add to their collections. My son also bought a Harbors Vintage brand t-shirt as a souvenir.

They didn't have much but I'm glad they still had a few things in my size that I liked. They are not too bad price-wise and have daily sales and a cheaper clothing section that I like. some of the items can randomly be super expensive for some reason, but that's just like one or two racks. I assume it's a clothes collector thing. I really appreciate that they wash the clothing and whatnot. I get anxious about bringing bugs home when I shop secondhand and this shop makes me feel like I don't need to worry about it. Especially when trying on the clothes in the changing rooms. Also, some clothes sometimes have stains, but honestly that's to be expected with secondhand clothing. It's not that bad and they are marked when they are stained so I don't mind much. The staff is very nice and helpful. I was unsure about a set of pants so I asked and they helped me think about it. They also helped me with a lot of questions I had. I like the artists's cubbies too. I love to support local artists. I like the ambiance here. As someone with sensory issues, I also like that it isn't too bright, too loud, or smelly in this shop. I'd say that it is a little hard to find parking for this shop, though. I'd probably take the bus next time I come here. I like their social media promotions and all the events they host or are a part of. That's what interested me in the store in the first place.

I really liked that they showcased local artists' work and prices were reasonable. I loved the variety of items and the different booths/spaces for other sellers. Most of the shirts here are customized 88 Tee shirts. However, there were also other designs like Snoopy, Punisher, etc. The shirts are organized and categorized by size and each size has a HUGE variety of designs so you really gotta lift the shirts to open and see them. Aside from T-shirts, they have hats, button-up shirts, crop tees, shorts, everything, no matter the size, newborn or adult. The part that shocked me was that I was willing to settle for an oversized male t-shirt. Then, Tita Araceli came up to me without me asking and advised I make it off the shoulder WHICH I did want but didn't know they do it for you, FOR FREE!!! They use their special sharp Japanese scissors from Japan, literally in a special box lmao. She wasn't making ghetto cuts on the shirt. She legit knew what she was doing, stretching the shirt a certain way to get the aesthetic roll-ups, cut it a certain way. I honestly was going to do it myself but I'm so happy Tita Araceli did it!! IF YOU WANT OFF THE SHOULDER, YOU CAN ASK AND NO CHARGER :) I even tried to tip her and she didn't want it, she was just genuinely trying to help. The t-shirt I got was $31. I'm tempted to go back already.

If you want an Aloha shirt, and a somewhat authentic one or even retro one, you should come here,…read morebut you should know what you are getting yourself in for. The walk from the Waikiki hotels is only about 10-15 minutes. On the strip in Waikiki you'll see a lot of places that will charge you Hawaii tourist prices for shirts - only some of which are decent. At Bailey's you'll definitely see what you want, and new or used, you might even come away with some money left over in your wallet for the next exorbitant meal. If you come in expecting space to be able to stand back and have a good look at the many, many shirts they have, well, there just isn't any. And if you want access to a dressing room, chances are you won't get that either. There is a single dressing room, and pretty much everyone goes in there with the 10-15 shirts they just picked out because they know it is the only access they will have to it (because everyone else has been in there doing the same thing, or waiting for their turn with a stack of shirts). But you'll find shirts, and ones that you like. You could pay anywhere from $10-$15 for a cheaper used one, most of the decent quality used ones are in the $25-$30 range, and then you can find some new Reyn Spooner types that might be up to $120. They have other stuff as well, but I think the majority of people probably go here to get Aloha shirts. This is very much a thrift store vibe, so if that ain't your jam, this place probably isn't for you. But it's an institution. It would be 5 stars for me, but I think it was important for clarity to take off one star just because it is an overwhelming number of shirts in a supremely confined space. My arms hurt from dragging shirts on hangers and holding the others back to try to look at them. The lady behind the counter is nice.

If you're serious about finding an aloha shirt you think you'll wear when you get back home, you…read moremight be looking for something that doesn't exist. You can find aloha shirts just about anywhere on Oahu, whether at expensive boutiques in Waikiki or in the nearest ABC store. However, the visual appeal of the shirt depends completely the eye of the beholder. With that in mind, there probably isn't any other store on the island that offers a broader selection. It's pretty overwhelming. The drawback is that the massive inventory is packed in a retail space so constrained that it can be a challenge to navigate. It took me a while to realize the shirts on the central racks are the priciest, some costing hundreds and (gasp) even thousands of dollars. There are used shirts along the wall that sell as low as $9. I wasn't particularly clear on the difference in quality, but I'll give you one guess which racks I was rifling through. Taking time off to work to declutter. Lots to go through and get rid of. I figured instead of…read moredonating everything, which would be easiest, I'd try to sell some of my things and try consignment. That's how I found Eco Town. I've walked pass this store several times over the years at Ala Moana and never knew what it was. They do have some really nice high end items that are being sold on eBay. Got to Ala Moana Tuesday morning at 10 am when they opened up. My family and I were buzzed into the store. I said I wanted to sell items to them. We were told only bags, purses, muumuus, aloha shirt ok, but no shoes or toys. The three items I could sell to them was a new with tags Michael kors purse I bought in 2020 that I never used. People online were selling the same purse at $255, a 2013 San Diego comic con original Batman cast swag bag and a new and unused Victoria secret marketing bag. The very sweet clerk put the items into a bin, gave me number and said it would take 30-mins to review the items. We took a few minutes to browse the store and they do have some really nice items. Really good place to come to if you were eying a specific LV purse a few years ago that sold out before you could get to it. It might be here for a few $100 less. Im told that LVs in good condition tend to keep their value. I didn't have breakfast so we headed to the food court. While eating, got a phone call that they were done with evaluating the items. I kind of knew what I was going to be offered for my MK purse and I got a bit more than I expected. For the other two items, I'm surprised I got an offer but they were in really good condition. All in all, I made $51. This was a great learning experience and we will definitely be back to both sell and shop. Next, looking forward to trying a consignment closet.

I never ever considered shopping at a second hand store let alone to sell my items that I no longer need/use that I usually do donate rather than to just toss it away is always a great solution not just to make some extra money but just knowing that it's not the end of the road for many loved items. If Eco-Town Select which is located ocean side in Ala Moana Center is located on the street level which is one level below the mall level sounds familiar they do have Eco Town in Iwilei which does buy more standard item while this Ala Moana location is much more selected. It's understandable and quite refreshing to see their inventory of upscale and brand name items along with more popular trend items as well. While I was browsing around I was more interested in some of their jewelry more costume ones that were holiday themed that I do have an idea for its use is cool to see along with vintage Japan Airline bags, various brand Aloha Shirts, totes, shoes and even Disney ears which I have a similar one that lights up. The staff there is friendly as they greet each guests that walks in the door and even made sure that they're always open to purchase our items. Small business like this that gives items life is great as the price isn't only that's nice but the selection of item that's selected as well. Thank you!
