I've been following DeStash Hawaii on Instagram for a while now but haven't been able to visit…read moreuntil my recent Oahu trip and boy was it worth the wait. I've been a Vintage Mu'u collector for 10-15+ years and I was super excited to see their selection of Vintage Mu'u! I took a Lyft to get to South Street from Ala Moana and I was dropped off across the street so I was a bit disoriented at first lol. I had to make sure I was walking in the right direction since there wasn't a big flashy sign. I love the humble lit up sign that said "Alterations" in the window and once I saw a mannequin in window dressed with beautiful Vintage Mu'u, I knew I hit the vintage jackpot lol! It was an adorable store with vintage Knick knacks, accessories, jewelry in glass cases, an alteration station with fabric as you walk through the door, then another section filled with racks of Vintage Mu'u of every size, along with Tops, Palaka Shorts and I also noticed some Outerwear too. I was so excited that I hit the ground running and checked out every rack with my size and collected a good 8-10 or so Mu'u to try on. (I mean I am from Maui so I can't frequent this place much lol!) There were 2 humble dressing rooms with a small basket in the corner for your shoes and belongings. I loved the selection and most of all the prices. They had vintage 80's-90's to maybe 60's-70's. I did see some rare vintage priced at $150-200+ but for the most part, reasonably priced for carefully curated vintage. I found 3 Mu'u at the end of my Vintage Haul. I scored a Black and Red Manuheali'i Dress (which aunty said everyone adored when it came in so that was definitely a score!) for $110 and 2 other Mu'u's, one was a Made in Hawaii with front bib detail in a cream color for maybe $40 and another Blue Andrade Mu'u for $45. This was definitely worth coming down from Maui. I will definitely be back on my next Oahu trip! The Aunty Owner and her daughter were the sweetest!

'Ola helped me today with choosing a mu'umu'u that fit the criteria required by my kumu hula, and she was very knowledgeable. The store also had a variety of fabrics and sewing tools. The parking was great! There's a lot in the front.

Shopping in Honolulu, Hawaii…read more.. I'm so happy to see Aunty Shirley again! She used to have a shop on Maunakea Street, next to Cindy's Lei Shop! She's so sweet, organized, efficient, and has a great memory! Now, she has two stalls (both sides of the aisle) at The Marketplace at City Square. Look for her at the end of the building, right before the restrooms! She offered to let me try on some dresses, but I will pass because the prices are so good! One piece is $7 and two pieces total $10! She also has 3 for $10 deals on t-shirts, golf shirts, and children's clothing! Take a look! You might find a vintage Tommy Bahama shirt for $12 or a Cooke Street Aloha Shirt for $10! Parking is free, so come on over!

Aunty's Ukay Ukay is located in Marketplace at City Square and thanks to Nadine C she showed me that there's this place who had relocated from Chinatown and have found a new home here and you'd never know as it's primarily known to shop for groceries and other relatable items. You just need to walk all the way in the back by the restrooms (which I had no idea they had) and you can't miss her with racks of all types of clothings. A simple set up but the variety for both adults and kids from shirts to dresses I was quite impressed of the choices she has and the prices are just so hard to resist as what makes an outfit is how you present it and with values like this you'd be looking fabulous at a great price. Thank you!

We chose the 9am-1:30pm shift on Saturday 7/18. Instructions said to wear closed toed shoes, long pants and that a Tshirt would be provided and arrive 30min early to get orientation done. No parking for volunteers provided, but McKinley HS offered free parking down the street. The orientation was a simple video illustrating the various positions and their roles. My friends and I chose to work in handbags and shoes. And let me tell you, the selection at these Goodwill Goes Glam events are great! It took a lot for my friends and I to not shop while we worked. as volunteers, our roles were to keep the area neat and organized. There were a few times we had to unlock new items from a cart onto the shelves in our sections. Best part about volunteering? A 20% off coupon for the day you work! I ended up buying $75 worth of clothes, before the discount! This included a gently worn pair of Coach heels for $9.99, pre-discount!! I loved that snacks, water and juice were provided for volunteers as well.
