Does anyone else go thrifting when you are on vacation? I've been to this Savers thrift store a couple of times now. We don't have Savers where I live, but I wish we did. The store is FOR profit, but does donate some items to a non for profit. This location offers some unusual merchandise due to the international population in Hawaii. I found several interesting paintings and vintage Christmas decor. My daughter likes to find craft supplies for the kids. The prices have gone way up on some merchandise since my visit last year. The store is well organized with most of the inventory being clothing. The parking on the lower level is hard to come by, but there is plenty of parking in the upstairs parking garage. If you donate something, they will give you a coupon for 20% off. Also, on Tuesdays, seniors receive 30% off. I've never bought anything after several visits. This review is all about donation and I'm so sad to have lost Ross as this was my favorite location we did get Savers and though it's not the place that I frequent it's great that they have a space designated to drop off your items. This Moili'ili location that right across the street from Old Stadium Park and though they do have great amount of free parking just steps from their front door majority of the time is all totally full as I'm here to just drop off some items that I wanted to donate it's so easy as there's a designated spot for you to park and drop off so easy with a staff standing by just for that. Loved that they game me a 20% off discount coupon for the donation which gives it a full circle of necessity as I gave up items that are no longer needed in trade to shop for items that are available is a great option though Savers is different way of thrifting as some of the prices are not quite friendly but to create and declutter your space is very friendly. The place has alot of cool stuff! But, the prices are atrocious and insulting. I can get the same type of clothing from Salvation Army & Goodwill for ALOT cheaper. Some of the price point comparison ranges are just a little higher and equal to Old Navy & Ross & Marshall's...I might as well spend my money at those places, rather than going to a thrift store such as Savers. read more

I love thrifting & this is the next closest savers since the one in kalihi is gone. Parking: not much parking in the front but the do have parking on the second floor of the building. Service: the location is so big....BUT NO FITTING ROOMS. how can you not have any fitting rooms? We have to try them on to see if they look nice on our body. PLEASE!!! MAKE SOME FITTING ROOMS! & on top of that all the old lady workers are so mean. The way the workers are towards us is the way I feel shopping there. I asked a worker nicely if they have a fitting rooms& with like a mad tone saying "no,no more" & walks away. I like that it's self check out & lots of space in between. The place isn't that organized but it's pretty clean. Lots of selections but of course you'll have to search real good. I do feel like places that are based off free donated stuffs, it's pretty price. Like it's basically almost the same price as brand new or even more for used clothes. Found a nice dress for $40! Donation in Moiliili, Honolulu, Hawaii... I haven't been to this new location of Savers yet... and I had a bag of stuff to donate... Let's go! The Kalihi location of Savers supposedly moved here... This used to be a Ross! The free parking in the front is a bit small and busy. There's more parking upstairs - just drive up the ramp and take the elevator down. Inside, the interior is spacious, clean, and air-conditioned! It's organized into categories such as - books, kitchen supplies, clothing, shoes, bags, socks, and jewelry: better pieces in the display cases in the front and costume jewelry hanging at the ends of some of the racks. I donated my goods outside of the store. The helpful young man was efficient and friendly. He gave me a 20% off coupon that expires at the end of the year... yay! I'll be back! read more

Loving this new location of Savers! Super convenient location along South King Street, across from Old Stadium Park, before Isenberg St. This used to be a Ross, Longs Drugs, Payless, and I want to say Pay N' Save (it's been too long lol). It's always been a place to save! There's parking out front, and an additional two levels of parking up the ramp located before the street level parking. You can drive to it from there if there's no open space out front. Just be careful when driving around here cause there are a lot of oblivious drivers who don't look at any signs or have any common sense...they like drive da wrong way. I've frequented this Savers a lot. Maybe too much, but I have a lot of stuff to donate and I like finding gems! The donation area is super convenient. You just pull up, and the attendants can help you unload your donations into their bins. You'll receive a 20% off coupon, a survey to get $2 off $5 purchase, and a tax deduction paper if you need. The attendants are very friendly and helpful. I can say the same to the entire Savers staff. Everyone is genuinely happy and friendly. Of all the people I've asked, they all love the new store and the clean environment (hopefully, it can stay that way). Many lived near the previous location, but don't mind the longer commute to the new location. A big plus is they manage to keep the store neat and organized. Sure, eventually it'll be messed by the customers, and the toy section will be ravaged by kids, but overall, they do an excellent job. The pricing is generally fair. Some prices are a little crazy, and I've noticed an increase by a dollar or two on certain items already. It's still an awesome deal with coupons. Also, they still do the half off discount on certain colors, but you gotta ask! Overall, I enjoy coming here. It's too hard to not come in and take a quick look as the location is super convenient. Donating is the best. Easy and you get coupons! You hear that Goodwill? What happened to your coupons?? The staff is great here, and the store is still clean and they do a good job keeping it as organized as can be. I'm so disappointed in this place. They OVERCHARGE TO THE MAX. It's disgusting to see a "non profit" company take advantage of donations and charge so much. They had SHEIN brand, and cheaper brands charging for the full price! Tank tops are $8, dresses are $15-20 (not good brands). I don't understand! Grand opening weekend very crowded it's like a indoor swap meet . Savers located in the old Ross's space on King St. lots of racks of used merchandise and also some new items as well. Small parking lot in front of the store although lots of parking on the 2nd and 3rd floor same like before when Ross was in business. Lots of self check out registers also regular registers as well. Donation area is in the front of the building with a roll up garage gate. Also you can also go into the store and donate your goods . Customer service was great everyone gets greeted when they enter the store also when donated your donation they thank you for your donation and give a receipt for tax purpose if needed . My daughter wanted to go Thrifting looking for good deals for clothes. We typically go to Goodwill, we've never been to Savers. We checked out this location located in the Kalihi area. Parking is plentiful and free. The store in general was quite sparse, a lot of clothes, but not much else. They were no dressing rooms, which was a total bummer, since you just have to eyeball the clothes and hope that it fits. I did join the Savers club which send you emails for savings and coupons. We found out later that this location closed, but that they're opening a new location in the Moilili area. Hopefully this location actually has fitting rooms! read more

It seems like this location has more space than the old one, but looking back it may just be the same size, the aisles just got smaller. The parking lot is small and moves in a one way direction. I saw the building itself has a parking structure, but I don't know how to access it so I have no opinion on it. But leaving the parking lot can get risky because you have to cross over to the next lane almost blind since it's blocked by cars parked on the street - be careful when driving! The items here seemed fairly priced, sometimes, and my friend did find some good deals for street style for only $2! Also, if you move to the island, why buy pots and pans and dishes when savers has a plethora for you - I even saw completed plate sets! And when I was leaving I saw someone found this grill that my husband's family still uses because it's high quality! That grill is older than us and it's still going, she found a gem for sure! Overall, thrifting is a treasure hunt, and it's called buried treasure for a reason, you really gotta look to find that Diamond in the rough. As a new Savers store, this place is great, but I sure do hope in the next few years they'll be able to keep it clean. BUT as customers, we could all help too by only donating clean items people will ACTUALLY use, and keeping the store organized as we walk around. read more

we came all the way from kalihi at it's 7:30 and when we checked what time they close the store says 9 but the people would not let us in and I told the guy they're supposed to be open till nine. This location is fairly easy to get to via bus. This store has lot of things: clothes, art, home goods , pots and pans, etc. On this trip I was able to find a used coffee grinder for $10. Please note that when buying used items from here you will need to clean/deep clean items. For $10 , I didn't mind deep cleaning the coffee grinder I bought. Just letting you know, in case cleaning or deep cleaning is a deal breaker for you. read more

Customer service was poor today. Noticed that the younger staff at this location are not very helpful and often look disturbed and irritated. Even when trying best to move out of their way as they approach with new racks, staff have no courtesy and insist on proceeding without acknowledging the efforts of shoppers who have consideration for their job take to keep the aisles clear. Possibly just frustrated with the other inconsiderate shoppers that share the space, however, my suggestion is that customer service becomes a priority, it shouldn't NOT be expected just because it's a thrift store. In particular, a younger Caucasian female named Angelica, rudely and loudly asked me "could you please not touch the close until it's on the rack" I apologized and stated that I wasn't aware that we weren't able to pursue the clothes racks as I know that rule is for the wares cart (there is a sign to advise everyone to wait until the rack is unloaded) Angelica rudely responded "the rule goes for everything coming out of the back". Still disturbed with the way Angelica addressed me about touching the clothes on the rack, I walked around to look for her to ask her why there were no signs on the clothes racks to advise us not to pursue the rack? Her response "it's a new rule and they don't have enough signs to post on the clothes racks" unsatisfied with her response I walked away and decided to write this review. Savers in general has been a great go to spot to buy lightly used and sometimes new items at a decent price and I love that we have this store in our community, but respect cannot be thrifted, no such thing as second hand courtesy. Savers, moved from Dillingham Blvd. better location/ community (UH students close by). Love the sales, when we shop, sometimes its "picked over" weekly color tag. But I manage to find a few pieces. items out of place, NEED TO BE PUT BACK to keep the store organized! Prices.... Well! Cant control that! Your red pull baskets need attention! The first day when they opened, I found good stuff. Since then, I haven't found anything great. I used to find better stuff at the Kalihi Savers. Donations in this new neighborhood aren't as good. Weird... Customers are better at this new location. Less shoplifters and sketchy people here. Better bathrooms too! That's a huge plus! read more

I've had so much fun thrifting at Savers since they moved to this location. You can find everything you need- even things you didn't know you needed! Some things are definitely over priced, but others are quite reasonable. I donate something almost every time I go and so always have a 20% coupon. Plus, if you register to be in the Super Savers Club you can earn points and get 25% off every Monday. Each week there is a color tag that is 50% off. My kids love coming so they can play with the toys. Good rainy day activity, haha. It can get quite messy in the toy section because a lot of kids play there and aren't supervised and things don't get put back unfortunately. I love buying toys here as they are cheap and sometimes new or barely used. I've gotten lots of Melissa and Doug high quality wooden toys for $5. They also have a great selection of books which are buy 4 get one free. They have tons of clothes so it will take a while to sift through everything. Some of it is just as expensive as buying new, so you want to look for name brands. I found a nice barely used North Face coat that sells for $250 and they had it listed for $30...with the 20% discount, I thought that was a good deal. Their aloha shirts are pretty expensive in my opinion. Name brands will be $30, whereas at Goodwill I believe they are only $10. The staff is friendly and helpful. There are multiple self checkout lines but staff is around to assist if you need help. There are about 20 parking spots in the front, but it's often full. The parking garage has tons of parking, but I usually just circle around in the front because it's closer to the store and the garage can be semi-sketchy depending on the time of day. A dressing room would be nice as I've seen people trying on clothes out in the open. Had to shield my son's eyes from a lady literally in her bra in the middle of the aisle. They do have a return policy on clothing where you can return it if the tags are still attached, so I just try on at home. I'll keep coming back! read more

So Hype that they opened up this location. It'll be great for the neighborhood and University of Hawaii students. The students can do a simple short walk over from the dorms. We had time to kill and although not a traditional tourist thing to do while in Honolulu, we decided to go thrift shopping. We chose Savers since it was the closest to us at a distance of 1.5 miles walking. When I first walked in, I was impressed by not only the size of the store but honestly, their organization!! I always enjoy a retail shop that spends time in their organizing. As I was commenting this thought to my friend, an employee passed by and thanked me for saying that. It shows when management and employees take the time and take pride in their store. Everything was labeled and its proper department. There were lots of employees walking around putting items on racks and shelves. There was a lot of merchandise. My friend and I found a lot of good deals and at good prices. I wish we had more room in our suitcase to take home more stuff. There were lots of self serve checkouts with an easy transaction process. Went for their grand opening last month. I found good stuff that I've been looking for so im glad I went even tho it was crazy busy. Overall I enjoyed shopping here during their grand opening. The store is a decent size. The parking structure was confusing and a pain. But the elevators opens up into the store which I like a lot. I'll be back when I need to go hunting for more goodies. I enjoy shopping here so much. The prices are reasonable and some items are new with the tags on them. When I'm looking for something I often go there and I usually find what I need. I needed a pie plate and Amazon was selling it for $25.00. Walmart, Ross and TJ Maxx didn't have any so I decided to go to Savers and found one for $4.49 plus my donation discount. Ran it through the dishwasher and it looked almost brand new. My biggest complaint is for the size of the store there should be a public bathroom, when I asked an attendant there I was told that "the bathrooms are closed on the weekends." So Ladies and Gentleman especially with kids make sure they use the bathroom before you go. Otherwise I like it there. read more
