They price things really high, near retail value. Really disappointing to see. This is not how savers used to be.

Hubby and I have been here lots of times and I managed to find some cute jean shorts and cute tops here. They didn't look too run down but definitely worth purchasing some clothing. Hubby says sometimes you get clothing for brand new if you look hard enough. The inside was fairly organized but we didn't find a vacuum hubby wanted here. I have seen brand names like Coach here and some good clothing brands. I don't think I would purchase anything else other than clothing here. I make sure to wash the clothing before wearing it. You never know. Plenty of parking up front but it does get busy here. Highly recommend this location. As with all places, they do take donations here as well. read more

From my experience this is prob the most abundant of all the thrift stores I've seen here, but there are both pros and cons with that. Pros: super large selection, lots of clothes for the entire family. Some fantastic brand names, I got my daughter a Patagonia jacket and my son some Levi's both in great condition for under $10 for both. Tons of puzzles, games, and books for kids. Lots of variety in the home goods section and a ton of aloha print high end shirts for men. They have sales on certain days and if you donate some stuff you can get a 20% off coupon for shopping. I love that it promotes sustainability and less consumerism. Cons: some things are priced too high for second hand store. One of the items has the original price tag on it, and it was priced higher than the original price tag! You have to be careful and make sure that what you are buying is good quality fabric and not overly used. That means taking your time. I def wouldn't come here if you're in a rush or have your kids with you. Location is hard for me, I wish they had an option closer to the East side. Over all, this place is amazing for finding treasures at a low price. It helps to encourage reducing and reusing as much as we can! read more

06/21/20 Stop in from time to time, sometimes to donate, so metro shop. Today it was nice to see the grill.. I didn't buy it but what a great deal! Japanese brand for only $24.99. There were lots of Japanese dishes today too. Lots of parking, just gotta take your time. Monday's they even have 25% off and Tuesdays are Senior days at 30% off. Nice to support this organization read more

I enjoy shopping here so much. The prices are reasonable and some items are new with the tags on them. When I'm looking for something I often go there and I usually find what I need. I needed a pie plate and Amazon was selling it for $25.00. Walmart, Ross and TJ Maxx didn't have any so I decided to go to Savers and found one for $4.49 plus my donation discount. Ran it through the dishwasher and it looked almost brand new. My biggest complaint is for the size of the store there should be a public bathroom, when I asked an attendant there I was told that "the bathrooms are closed on the weekends." So Ladies and Gentleman especially with kids make sure they use the bathroom before you go. Otherwise I like it there. read more

A clothing store with no fitting room!! Even goodwill and many other thrift stores have a fitting room. Since COVID they closed them and just never put them back. And their return policy is such that you can get a store credit with 14 days - but only valid for a same day new purchase!! Ridiculous and poor business strategy. I used to choose Savers over Goodwill but its almost impossible to get dresses or pants anymore. I buy my size and they end up not fitting in some particular way. Not wasting my money there anymore until they get fitting rooms again!! read more

Savers used to be a great place to go thrifting, that was back when i was in college 2013. But this past few years have been ridiculous. Most of the items are priced like they didn't get their products out from donations. There are times where it's more expensive to shop here rather than shopping at Ross, Marshall, even Target. Lol! I find this particular location about 80-90% organize. There's a lot of workers working around to fix the items on the floor. Specially now that it's all self check out lol They have bathroom and there's a code to go inside, a worker would punch it for you and let you in. sometimes they wait for you to come out so they can make sure it'll be close again. so not surprisingly clean. It looks clean and smells clean. A lot of fake designer bags which they price from $200++ Always always involving the cops when there's shoplifters. Every Monday is 25-30% off for Everybody. Every Tuesday is Senior Day, 30% off must be 55 years young. They have 50% off for color of the week, It's posted on their white board every time, right side when you enter the door. It runs from Thurs-Tues i believe. When you donate, You get a 20% off coupon & a $2 off $5 purchase when you do a survey. If you purchase something, You can also do the survey to get that $2 off. They open at 9am and close at 8p but area is already dark at 7p and no more that much people. They open same time Sundays but closes an hour earlier. Overall, If i live in between Savers Kalihi & Savers Waipahu, I'd drive to Waipahu. They have better stuffs and more reasonable pricing. read more

Clean and organized. I was pleasantly surprised. Looking for a specific item and this was our 4th and final stop. BINGO! Can you say shaded parking? An excellent experience. read more

This is the best thrift store around. There was a lot of merchandise to shop through, especially in regard to books. If you walk out empty-handed, you must have had your eyes closed the entire time. Ha ha! The dressing rooms are closed to the public, but that didn't stop me from purchasing two shirts I knew would fit. The cashiers were attentive and efficient in their job duties. I'll definitely keep shopping here during the month or two I'm planning on staying in Hawaii. read more

Savers - Thrift Stores Near Me - Honolulu, Hawaii

Good place. Lots of changing stock. Variety of goods. Downside no change rooms but they do exchange and refund.

I love this Savers. I have been shopping here for years especially if I would be in the downtown area. On my last trip to Oahu we went to town to do some shopping so I asked my mom if we could go to our favorite Savers. I was so excited to use my 25% off discount (with proof of a plane ticket from OGG). After spending a few hours in there finding all sorts of things for Halloween, clothes for our family etc. we got to the front of the checkout line and the cashier said it was senior discount day (Tuesday) so we didn't get the 25% off we got the 30% off INSTEAD. Yay! We were so happy. Check it out :) read more

Not a fan of the new location (yet).... simply because it reminds me of Ross. I bought a cute mini-grill and a honey pot art knick-knack regardless. Atmosphere takes some getting used to but I definitely prefer the Waipahu location. read more

There are only 2 Savers on the island , and this has to be my favorite. Selection of items are plentiful, with decent second hand pricing. The color of the week is offered through out the whole store, not just the "home" section. read more

My favorite thrift store in Honolulu, Hawaii. I always find great deals here. Their rewards program is great too!

The new location on King Street just opened on Thursday, November 2. Today was the first weekend day they were open and it was very very crowded. Luckily I snagged a parking right in front. The store is very well organized and so much better than Goodwill. The prices were extremely fair and the selection was huge. They even brought in other stuff from the Waipahu store to manage their grand opening weekend. I would highly recommend Savers overall, and this location. read more

Review for both locations : Prices are ridiculous now for clothes that are DONATED. Pretty greedy for money. I find items that were priced higher than it's original price. Plus they throw away clothes that do not sell, which is sad. If you want to make more space, make prices cheaper. Wish savers becomes actually savers. read more

I'm cleaning house and purging, decided to drop some stuff off at Savers, good to know they give you a coupon for certain percent off for donating. We decided to park and see what we can find. My daughter was in heaven with all the yarn she found, and the coupon given to us was helpful too. read more

When I'm in the mood to thrift hunt, Savers is one of my go to's. The Halloween section in October is my favorite time to be exact. But it does take a lot of patience and time to go through the racks since they are semi organized. Going in the middle of the day or at night on a weekend is when I find the racks to be messy the most.. There's free parking so that's always a plus. Sign up for the rewards program at the register and you'll get coupons/promotions through your email! Every penny counts! read more

I just purchased three pairs of jeans which fit perfectly. In the previous week, there weren't any pairs in my size. The key to successful bargain hunting at Savers is to take time knowing where to look, and, if nothing looks right, is to come back again next week. I've found nice desk lamps, air pumps, DVD's, books, tee shirts--and drapes and pillows for my apartment. The staff is friendly and fast to help at the checkouts, and I find this store to be as good as any retail store at the Ala Moana Mall--and with inflation proofed pricing! read more

Knick Knacks Im not really one to spend a lot of my time in thrift stores, but I do appreciate the idea of donations and goodwills. Had time to kill so I entered the fray of which I found to be very bustling on a Sunday afternoon. To my surprise this store had a huge variety of used household goods and clothing, but I could also pick out the items that were still in good condition or never used. Is it worth the time to come here and save a few bucks? Sure. It depends what you are looking for and your threshold for quality. Item sections around the store were fairly organized but with some areas picked apart and messy. I was generally intigued with their large section of books and old dvds. Even found a few aisles already dedicated for the holiday season. 3 stars because I have yet to find anything that Im overly excited to buy here and my overly exaggerated keen sense of smell has me concerned of where this moth ball scent wherever I went in the store was eminatting from. read more

1) The marked price is getting higher and higher ridiculous for free donations goods. 2) Also they have no a separate queue for return . 3)No fitting room to try on even after covid , so items of clothing such as fitted dress, intimate wear or beandu top cannot try on and many times size not fit . 4)When return also very headache , staff always not around and hard to find people to help exchange item , 5) self help check out machine cannot self help to press return 6) they definitely should put up a line for return read more

Not to shabby for a thrift store, however I did run into a lot of over priced items. That's the only con, besides that they have a neat self check out for debit/credit card users, I did find some nice Tori Richard aloha tshirts for under 20 bucks- which usually run to almost 100 bucks, so that pretty cool. And the staff there are great! read more

Recycling is one of thr best things we can do for this island. Upcycling is fun. Savers in Honolulu has long hours, friendly employees, and its store is well stocked, and Covid safe. I was going to New York City after living in Hawai'i all of my life in the winter. I needed some warm clothes. I found everything I wanted and needed in Savers for great prices. read more

Pretty ridiculous that they don't offer refunds on clothing, nor do have fitting rooms. Guess they just expect us to waste our money on items that may not fit? I'm shopping at Savers, I don't have money to waste. Granted, they do allow you to exchange your clothing for more items that may not fit. read more

Savers in Moilili. Across "old" stadium park. Very organized, Large selections. Covered Parking upstairs.

Savers has monthly coupons for additional discounts. Tons of Aloha wear for men, jeans for men and women, and the list goes on. I stop in and buy stemware. I break so many wine glasses its not funny. So, when I have a gathering, I get the wine glasses from Savers and if it breaks- oh well! Beats drinking wine in plastic cups. My second favorite department in Savers are the Books. I love to read (and I don't have a Kindle or Nook) so I trade my books with Savers. they have a deal on the books where you buy 5 and get #6 free. I just purchased about 12 bath towels and delivered them to Cat Friends who always needs towels, newspapers, etc since tney foster homeless cats. I like the idea of 2 donations with 1 stop. (Your purchases at Savers benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters Organization. ) So in my mind, I helped the Big Brothers Big Sisters and then helped Cat Friends! Thank you Savers read more

I went a couple days ago. It smelt so bad. I don't know how to explain it but it smells like there's mold in the ac or something. I also was checking out around the store and I think I saw a rat or mouse running around and then it ran in the back. I was so disgusted I didn't even buy anything and just left. Throughout the years they've also priced the stuff way higher. They've forgotten this a donation store while pricing the stuff for retail. This place should be shut down. Ps: Staff nowadays are very ver rude. Always have an attitude especially the managers. You can't work in retail and be a bean all the time. If they act like that might as well go find a new job or don't work at all. They treat you like trash. I've even seen some workers falling asleep and then laughing abt it after. The workers there and plain dot rude and I recommend go to another thrift store. read more

This is my 15 yr old daughter's current favorite place to shop. We literally come here at least once a week. And every time we come they always have new inventory and huge selection of every kind of clothing lot of which still have the tags on or are in really in good shape. It's in across town drive for us from our home in Waialae Nui--about 15 to 20 minutes so not bad and we always have fun on the longer drive listening to music and laughing so that the whole outing becomes a nice bonding experience for her and I. Got to take it where you can get it with teenagers! The staff is always really helpful. The dressing rooms are efficient and clean not fancy but adequate. And if you can get in here on the 50% off days you can really score some great deals. They also started a cashback program a couple of years ago almost every time we check out I have a five dollar credit waiting for me. Check them out-- they are Honolulu's top thrift store in my book. read more

Updated review 8/29/22 Came in today to thrift some great stuff and was extremely disappointed right off the bat. * Prices are INSANE for used clothing. I seen some worn women tops for over $12 today. A lot of clothing items were extremely overpriced. You could get brand new quality items from Ross or TJ Maxx for a lot cheaper. Sad because Saver's has been my go to to find super cute tops for years. * The entire housewares section was dirty and dusty. Some things were marked okay, some definitely overpriced. * Board games had decent pricing on some of them, but the rest were overpriced, to include ripped boxes). * Baby / toddler section didn't have much of a selection, but I did find one item I liked for a good price. (Baby sleeper for $1.79). * Lots of used purses that were overpriced. * They no longer have cashiers. Everything is self check out which was a nice surprise. * Workers were friendly and loved that they still continue 50% off one color during the week sale. Overall, wouldn't come back. It's hard to find a bargain when things are overpriced in a thrift store. Hopeful things change and it goes back to being a thrift spot that a lot of people remember it to be. read more

For what it is? A thrift Store that sells used clothing. Collectibles and others. Thr management does pretty good job keeping things in order. I personally think this is one of the better thrift stores around. You can find almost anything at a reasonable and sometimes high price. I think management can improve on some areas. For a thrift store? They do a decent job. The employees that work there are well trained and they work hard. They are one of the biggest thrift stores that accepts alot of donations. The clothing areas are well enough organize to make it easier for customers to shop. When its messy? It can"t be helped when customers just throws things around. For customers who complained about the little things that go around between other customers and situations? C'mom seriously! It's a thrift store! I know people want to get the best bargins to sell on line? To complain? Customers who complain are getting way too deep in to something like this? These complainers need to chill! All you out there? You all are lucky? Management doesn't get stricker and have tougher rules. Be respectful to all, employees, management and others! read more

I love to thrift shop- there's nothing more exciting than looking through junk for buried treasure. This particular thrift shop is very large, bright, and clean. I often find unexpected items here, from toys and games, to media, electronics, and home goods. The store is well organized and they make an effort to keep things clean. For the most part, the staff is friendly although not always. My main complaint with Savers in general are the prices for certain items. It's fine charging what an item is worth, but hard to justify high amounts for things that seem valuable but aren't. On occasion prices are the same as if they were new. This store is at a convenient location, close to good food and other shopping opportunities. I'm also happy the profits go to local non-profit charities. read more

Savers us more than a thrift store, it's an all-out experience for my daughter and I. During the year we enjoy endless selection of clothing, kept clean and organized. We love to find one-of-a-kind tops, dresses, or shoes. Very thankful to put yesterdays fashion to good use. As a thrift store, one expects to find a loose zipper or stretched elastic. I believe they hold a higher standard when picking which clothing they put on the floor. I rarely find a tear or stain. My daughter and I make a full adventure pouring over the clothes, the housewares, low priced kitchenware and anything else that catches our eye. But Halloween time is our favorite, as the store transforms into a massive menagerie of costumes, accessories, and spectral delights! Over all, great prices, clean environment, wide selection, and friendly service. Join their email list for discounts. They also have a military discount. So score some creative clothing and then head next door to Honu Sushi for a great bowl of Ramen and sushi. read more

Savers is my go-to thrift store! It doesn't always have the best prices, but honestly it wins with shear volume. There is just SO MUCH STUFF. I've found some pretty great things in the last year. Quiksilver rash guard for my son for a few bucks Kids Kahala aloha shirt for $5 Vintage Hawaiiana dress Kids Crocs for $5 Practically brand new T&C T-shirt for $7 Rip Curl bikini top $3 Ladies Toms shoes $8 I find the kids and ladies shoes selection pretty impressive here. Make sure you take a bag of donations, they give you a 20% off coupon on the spot! read more

Super dissatisfied and disappointed with Savers. Their prices have skyrocketed! Although we are all aware of prices going up due of economic difficulties I refuse to accept these prices at a thrift store. Many run down athletic shoes were overpriced, as well as simple ladies tank tops and tops marked at over $10...dresses marked at $15 - $29!!! Although I am no longer a resident of Hawaii, I've always enjoyed making my rounds here when visiting..some ppl have no choice but to shop second hand and this place doesn't care or even consider this concept. Please do better Savers, because no one is 'saving' here. read more

I had a blast in here! It's the same as a Goodwill but Much bigger. Staff was friendly and it was fun to shop. It was clean and they had a good selection.
