The new location on King Street just opened on Thursday, November 2. Today was the first weekend day they were open and it was very very crowded. Luckily I snagged a parking right in front. The store is very well organized and so much better than Goodwill. The prices were extremely fair and the selection was huge. They even brought in other stuff from the Waipahu store to manage their grand opening weekend. I would highly recommend Savers overall, and this location. read more

I love this Savers. I have been shopping here for years especially if I would be in the downtown area. On my last trip to Oahu we went to town to do some shopping so I asked my mom if we could go to our favorite Savers. I was so excited to use my 25% off discount (with proof of a plane ticket from OGG). After spending a few hours in there finding all sorts of things for Halloween, clothes for our family etc. we got to the front of the checkout line and the cashier said it was senior discount day (Tuesday) so we didn't get the 25% off we got the 30% off INSTEAD. Review for both locations : Prices are ridiculous now for clothes that are DONATED. Pretty greedy for money. I find items that were priced higher than it's original price. Plus they throw away clothes that do not sell, which is sad. If you want to make more space, make prices cheaper. Wish savers becomes actually savers. read more

In my opinion, this is the best thrift store in town! You can find deals and treasures! Monday is 25% off everything. Tuesday is Senior Day and if you're 55 years or older, you get 30% off everything. Wednesday is Military Day and with a valid military ID, you get 25% off everything. Wednesday is when the new 50% color starts. Every donation, you receive a 20% off coupon and a $2 survey coupon. FYI: SAVERS DOES NOT GIVE CREDIT OR CASH REFUNDS! Currently, they only accept EXCHANGES on clothes and shoes! Exchange means: return it with receipt (within 14 days) and get something else. I just purchased three pairs of jeans which fit perfectly. In the previous week, there weren't any pairs in my size. The key to successful bargain hunting at Savers is to take time knowing where to look, and, if nothing looks right, is to come back again next week. I've found nice desk lamps, air pumps, DVD's, books, tee shirts--and drapes and pillows for my apartment. The staff is friendly and fast to help at the checkouts, and I find this store to be as good as any retail store at the Ala Moana Mall--and with inflation proofed pricing! read more

When I'm in the mood to thrift hunt, Savers is one of my go to's. The Halloween section in October is my favorite time to be exact. But it does take a lot of patience and time to go through the racks since they are semi organized. Going in the middle of the day or at night on a weekend is when I find the racks to be messy the most.. There's free parking so that's always a plus. Knick Knacks Im not really one to spend a lot of my time in thrift stores, but I do appreciate the idea of donations and goodwills. Had time to kill so I entered the fray of which I found to be very bustling on a Sunday afternoon. To my surprise this store had a huge variety of used household goods and clothing, but I could also pick out the items that were still in good condition or never used. Is it worth the time to come here and save a few bucks? Sure. It depends what you are looking for and your threshold for quality. Item sections around the store were fairly organized but with some areas picked apart and messy. I was generally intigued with their large section of books and old dvds. Even found a few aisles already dedicated for the holiday season. 3 stars because I have yet to find anything that Im overly excited to buy here and my overly exaggerated keen sense of smell has me concerned of where this moth ball scent wherever I went in the store was eminatting from. read more

Pretty ridiculous that they don't offer refunds on clothing, nor do have fitting rooms. Guess they just expect us to waste our money on items that may not fit? I'm shopping at Savers, I don't have money to waste. Granted, they do allow you to exchange your clothing for more items that may not fit. read more

Not to shabby for a thrift store, however I did run into a lot of over priced items. That's the only con, besides that they have a neat self check out for debit/credit card users, I did find some nice Tori Richard aloha tshirts for under 20 bucks- which usually run to almost 100 bucks, so that pretty cool. And the staff there are great! read more

Recycling is one of thr best things we can do for this island. Upcycling is fun. Savers in Honolulu has long hours, friendly employees, and its store is well stocked, and Covid safe. I was going to New York City after living in Hawai'i all of my life in the winter. I needed some warm clothes. I found everything I wanted and needed in Savers for great prices. read more

For what it is? A thrift Store that sells used clothing. Collectibles and others. Thr management does pretty good job keeping things in order. I personally think this is one of the better thrift stores around. You can find almost anything at a reasonable and sometimes high price. I think management can improve on some areas. For a thrift store? They do a decent job. The employees that work there are well trained and they work hard. They are one of the biggest thrift stores that accepts alot of donations. The clothing areas are well enough organize to make it easier for customers to shop. When its messy? It can"t be helped when customers just throws things around. For customers who complained about the little things that go around between other customers and situations? C'mom seriously! It's a thrift store! I know people want to get the best bargins to sell on line? To complain? Customers who complain are getting way too deep in to something like this? These complainers need to chill! All you out there? I went a couple days ago. It smelt so bad. I don't know how to explain it but it smells like there's mold in the ac or something. I also was checking out around the store and I think I saw a rat or mouse running around and then it ran in the back. I was so disgusted I didn't even buy anything and just left. Throughout the years they've also priced the stuff way higher. They've forgotten this a donation store while pricing the stuff for retail. This place should be shut down. Ps: Staff nowadays are very ver rude. Always have an attitude especially the managers. You can't work in retail and be a bean all the time. If they act like that might as well go find a new job or don't work at all. They treat you like trash. I've even seen some workers falling asleep and then laughing abt it after. The workers there and plain dot rude and I recommend go to another thrift store. read more

What can I say, Savers is convenient and has some cool used stuff...sometimes... If you're a savvy shopper and know your prices, you can find some decent knick knacks here. Shop their wall of bags, where stuff is bundled together. Sometimes you can find neat stuff you've always been looking for, and some of it is overpriced. Updated review 8/29/22 Came in today to thrift some great stuff and was extremely disappointed right off the bat. * Prices are INSANE for used clothing. I seen some worn women tops for over $12 today. A lot of clothing items were extremely overpriced. You could get brand new quality items from Ross or TJ Maxx for a lot cheaper. Sad because Saver's has been my go to to find super cute tops for years. * The entire housewares section was dirty and dusty. Some things were marked okay, some definitely overpriced. * Board games had decent pricing on some of them, but the rest were overpriced, to include ripped boxes). * Baby / toddler section didn't have much of a selection, but I did find one item I liked for a good price. (Baby sleeper for $1.79). * Lots of used purses that were overpriced. * They no longer have cashiers. Everything is self check out which was a nice surprise. * Workers were friendly and loved that they still continue 50% off one color during the week sale. Overall, wouldn't come back. It's hard to find a bargain when things are overpriced in a thrift store. Hopeful things change and it goes back to being a thrift spot that a lot of people remember it to be. read more

This is my 15 yr old daughter's current favorite place to shop. We literally come here at least once a week. And every time we come they always have new inventory and huge selection of every kind of clothing lot of which still have the tags on or are in really in good shape. It's in across town drive for us from our home in Waialae Nui--about 15 to 20 minutes so not bad and we always have fun on the longer drive listening to music and laughing so that the whole outing becomes a nice bonding experience for her and I. Got to take it where you can get it with teenagers! The staff is always really helpful. The dressing rooms are efficient and clean not fancy but adequate. And if you can get in here on the 50% off days you can really score some great deals. They also started a cashback program a couple of years ago almost every time we check out I have a five dollar credit waiting for me. Super dissatisfied and disappointed with Savers. Their prices have skyrocketed! Although we are all aware of prices going up due of economic difficulties I refuse to accept these prices at a thrift store. Many run down athletic shoes were overpriced, as well as simple ladies tank tops and tops marked at over $10...dresses marked at $15 - $29!!! Although I am no longer a resident of Hawaii, I've always enjoyed making my rounds here when visiting..some ppl have no choice but to shop second hand and this place doesn't care or even consider this concept. Savers has monthly coupons for additional discounts. Tons of Aloha wear for men, jeans for men and women, and the list goes on. I stop in and buy stemware. I break so many wine glasses its not funny. So, when I have a gathering, I get the wine glasses from Savers and if it breaks- oh well! Beats drinking wine in plastic cups. My second favorite department in Savers are the Books. I love to read (and I don't have a Kindle or Nook) so I trade my books with Savers. they have a deal on the books where you buy 5 and get #6 free. I just purchased about 12 bath towels and delivered them to Cat Friends who always needs towels, newspapers, etc since tney foster homeless cats. I like the idea of 2 donations with 1 stop. Savers us more than a thrift store, it's an all-out experience for my daughter and I. During the year we enjoy endless selection of clothing, kept clean and organized. We love to find one-of-a-kind tops, dresses, or shoes. Very thankful to put yesterdays fashion to good use. As a thrift store, one expects to find a loose zipper or stretched elastic. I believe they hold a higher standard when picking which clothing they put on the floor. I rarely find a tear or stain. My daughter and I make a full adventure pouring over the clothes, the housewares, low priced kitchenware and anything else that catches our eye. But Halloween time is our favorite, as the store transforms into a massive menagerie of costumes, accessories, and spectral delights! Over all, great prices, clean environment, wide selection, and friendly service. Join their email list for discounts. They also have a military discount. So score some creative clothing and then head next door to Honu Sushi for a great bowl of Ramen and sushi. read more

Savers is my go-to thrift store! It doesn't always have the best prices, but honestly it wins with shear volume. There is just SO MUCH STUFF. I've found some pretty great things in the last year. DONT PUT IT ON A HANGER IF ITS NOT FOR SALE - extremely unhappy customer!!! I was in the store looking for a table cloth that I needed for an event next day. The table cloth didn't have a tag so I was honest and asked how much. They told me it wasn't for sale and I could come back another day to buy it. Not sure if they thought I was trying to steal or what, but I would have gladly paid $20 for it which is probably 4x the price they will sell it for. I've shopped here many times (and the previous location) and I've found items without a tag before and was able to buy them without an issue. Today's interaction with the staff left a horrible taste in my mouth and makes me not want to shop here and literally tell everyone that I know not to shop there either! I had a blast in here! It's the same as a Goodwill but Much bigger. Staff was friendly and it was fun to shop. It was clean and they had a good selection. There were a few *new items with their tags still on but mostly these items are used - donated. There is a trend of resellers making a killing selling good condition second hand clothes on eBay and mercari, so I thought why not save money myself and reduce my carbon footprint on this planet and start buying used clothes. With that said, Savers has been my favorite store for the last few months. I used to frequent goodwill since it's close to my house, but I have found Savers to be a much better deal. All the clothes I have bought seem to be brand new with tags or no sign of being used at all. I have found a lot of name brand clothes here for me and my family. My daughter needed an outfit for orchestra and I was planning on going to Macy's and possibly spending about $75 on an outfit, but I was able to find a name brand outfit here at Savers, in new condition, for $10. I plan on chucking a bunch of my old clothes and coming here for replacements on my next paycheck. I love this store! read more

I love to thrift shop- there's nothing more exciting than looking through junk for buried treasure. This particular thrift shop is very large, bright, and clean. I often find unexpected items here, from toys and games, to media, electronics, and home goods. The store is well organized and they make an effort to keep things clean. For the most part, the staff is friendly although not always. My main complaint with Savers in general are the prices for certain items. It's fine charging what an item is worth, but hard to justify high amounts for things that seem valuable but aren't. On occasion prices are the same as if they were new. This store is at a convenient location, close to good food and other shopping opportunities. I'm also happy the profits go to local non-profit charities. read more

BUYER BEWARE. I don't normally like to write these type of reviews (my last negative 1-star review was over 2 years ago) but this is the second time I've received this type of poor treatment when shopping at this specific Savers in Dillingham so here is what happened today: I was purchasing over $30 worth of cool stuff I found, and I saw their promotion on near the register: "buy a $30 gift card, get a $5 coupon back." Okay cool, I'm buying $30 worth of stuff any way so why not? I go up to the register and am picked up by sales rep "Marizza." First, she never says welcome or hello to me and I actually have to tell her "hi there" to start the conversation. No big deal. So I ask her about the promotion and specifically ask, "if I buy this $30 gift card, will I get a $5 coupon back today?" She talks fast and over me and says "yeah, it's $30 today, okay!" So I pay. Sure enough, I don't receive any $5 coupon. So I'm flustered and ask her what happened. She starts getting super defensive saying "that's not how it works" and even (exact quote) "I thought you were asking me if I buy a $30 gift card, can I use a $5 coupon that I already have." Think about this Marizza. Slow down for a moment. Why would I be pointing at the promotion sign right next to you asking about it and why am I paying $30 down now towards a gift card if I don't expect to receive a $5 coupon now? If I already had a coupon, like you assumed, I wouldn't be buying a gift card. And if I was buying a $30 gift card with no promotion or discount, wouldn't I just pay directly with the credit card? I smell bullshit right when it happens. I muttered "what a dummy" and Marizza starts getting super offended saying "NOBODY CALLS ME A DUMMY." I can't help but shake my head wondering "is this really happening right now?" Is this really how a customer is being treated? Oh my god. I'm not a confrontational person but I started to escalate. She starts yelling over me to the point where I (THE CUSTOMER) am trying to defuse the situation and telling her "Ma'am....MA'AM!" to get her to calm down and get the manager. The manager immediately offers a $5 credit off of the purchase today, which I accept. See Marizza? That's how you could have avoided this whole argument with your customer: rather than telling me I'm out of luck and can't be helped, actually think and slow down for a moment and offer a reasonable solution to the mistake you made. Also, take ownership of the mistake for god's sake, you are an adult, aren't you? I wish I got the manager's name since he really saved her butt. Seriously, she should be thanking that manager for her job right now since he actually came up with a solution rather than trying to pin it on the customer So unprofessional on the rep's part. So, here is why Marizza the sales rep FAILED today: 1. Lack of knowledge about Store Promos: She flat out told me the wrong information and did not fully understand my question, leading to a mistake. 2. She incorrectly processed the transaction and took my money. 3. After the mistake was exposed, rather than owning up to it and apologizing to the customer, she gets defensive and makes the customer feel uncomfortable. NOT OKAY SAVERS. Get your act together. You really need to get rid of these dime-a-dozen reps who constantly say "No no No nO no No nO!" to the customer and actually hire CUSTOMER-ORIENTED reps that are resourceful and willing to fix issues rather than argue with customers. Here is the second incident that happened within the past year - same Savers location: I bought a used Nintendo GameCube for about $40. Pretty expensive, even for a vintage console, but I paid for it any way. Brought it home and...did not work. Tried everything, even putting in different games and different TVs but did not work. So, I brought it back to Savers within the 7-day return window. I can't remember the rep's name but she tells me first, "We don't offer any refunds or returns, whatsoever, for this item." And I'm like, "well, it doesn't work...so....you wanted me to pay $40 for an oversized paper weight?" She walks in the back and makes me wait for at least 15 minutes while I twiddle my thumbs. Then she comes out and literally says, "as a one-time exception, we will give you store credit, WHICH MUST BE SPENT TODAY. (Did I mention it's already 5PM on a Sunday?) I'm stunned. 1. So, you don't offer refunds for broken electronics? Dang, I am so dang lucky to get a "one-time exception" since the next time I buy electronics, my money is as good as swindled! Thanks Savers! 2. You are literally forcing me to find $40 worth of stuff to buy within 4-5 hours of closing. It's getting late, it's a work night, and I'm hungry and want to go home, but here I am digging frantically for $40 worth of shit or else my money is basically "confiscated." I would not recommend this store over Goodwill and Salvation Army. I will offer to change this review if I hear back from upper management from Savers. read more

This place keeps getting more and more expensive. $25 dollars for a used pair of sketchers? No thank you. $20 for used rainjackets that are sold new at costco for $18? Ill pass. They are also selling used glass dessert containers that costco sells premade desserts in for $1.99 each.... they are cheaper when the food is still in them... Came here to check out Halloween costumes and decor. It's kinda like goodwill, but I'd say a little better. Maybe it feels this way because it's a little brighter, bigger and smells a little better. I know they also accept donations like goodwill, maybe I should research into which to donate my used clothes to... hmmm. They have a 25% discount on Mondays. So we happened to come on a Monday and found a cute candle holder for $1 and a brand new blender for $7. The Halloween costume selection was not very exciting. Costumes were still $40. They do have a bunch of accessories and makeup kits, too though. All of the Halloween costumes and accessories were new, not like people's old costumes. I browsed a little through the racks of clothes for any Halloween inspiration and couldn't find anything. I also didn't see any brands or items I'd want to buy for real life.
