Located nearby the hotel - and at the strip of waikiki So this H&M the styles of clothing is ok. But that is how H&M is basically. You have to be really picky on what to buy here because for the plain styles you can probably get it somewhere else that MAY be cheaper. I like ZARA style but sometimes the item,s there are pricier. I used to really like this place but this last time we went to Oahu for my birthday and the underwear I bought were sewn together, so now they all have holes in them not a great value . I bought a different brand of underwear there too, and all of them are not the same size in certain areas which you can't tell when you buy them because they're all stuck together.. also I asked one of the workers where more bathing suits were and she said they weren't any but then later in the store I found some other ones. The last thing that happened is, I walked out of the store and the thing beeped at me even though I gone through the register twice. So far the only thing I like that I bought there was the earrings that I had to go back and accidentally buy because the door beeped at me. read more

We so have a H&M in Oahu. This store is huge. The ground floor is for woman's clothing and the second floor is for men's clothing. I would say this is more a medium to low end clothing store. Most of the items are pretty affordable, trendy and stylish. It is a great addition to the Waikiki shopping. The checkout line is pretty slow. We have to wait over 10 minutes to pay for our stuff when there is a crowd. My wife usually can find a few items when we come to shop here, but I almost never can find anything that I like, but again it is just my taste of clothing. So, I needed a last-minute collared shirt for a wedding. No big deal, right? I head into H&M, and it's clean, spacious, and well-stocked--a nice setup for some quick shopping... or so I thought. The problem? Not a single employee in sight. It was like walking into a retail ghost town. I'm in the men's section, searching for my shirt, and I cannot find what I need. With the clock ticking, I go downstairs and ask one of the staff for help. Her response? "There should be someone upstairs, but I need to stay in my section." Uh, cool--but there wasn't a single person up there for 30 minutes. Not one! Finally, it's time to check out. Guess what? There's one cashier, and the line is seven people deep. Seriously? HUGE store! The first floor is primarily women's clothing and there was a great selection. I really liked that the second floor was solely dedicated to men's clothing. My husband was able to find a variety of clothes that he could wear comfortably in hawaii but also back home. The store itself is clean and organized, and the staff were friendly. read more

If there was a negative 10, I would choose that score. Most disorganized staff ever. I wanted to buy a blouse size that was on a mannequin on Saturday. They are not allowed to remove anything from a mannequin. They have to tag the item with your name, so when their "visual" crew comes in to work, they would remove it and call you to pick up. This would be Monday. I tried ordering online, can't, restricted as only sold in this store??? It's not a special item just for this area so that makes no sense. So I'm forced to have to try and track this blouse to make sure it isn't sold to someone else. I called Monday, 10AM. Spoke with the on duty Manager, Chelsea, about picking it up. She said she'll check with visual about it and call me back. 3pm, still no call back. I called again. The visual crew, a guy, who does men's clothing, answered. Repeat, have to explain the whole story again. Nobody knows anything, keeps no log book, message area, nothing. He would relay message to manager and women's visual. Said won't be removing blouse until Thursday. Unbelievable! Too late in the day for me to pick up today. An hour later, Chelsea leaves a message saying they removed the blouse and I can pick it up. Again, poor communication between staff. I called her back that evening explaining that I will pick it up Wednesday at 3pm. I said make sure you write that down, advise all other managers, staff coming on duty between now and Wednesday 3pm to make sure it is held. She reassured me, no problem, it has your name on it and will be held till Wednesday afternoon. I even offered to pay now to make sure there is no problem. She said no, which is ridiculous! So, still fear that this is going to be a disaster since there is zero communication going on between employees. Wednesday, I call just before arriving since the only H & M is located in Waikiki with no parking at all. It is a real hassle to come back to pick this up. I'm about 5 minutes away and want it ready to purchase due to parking. They have no idea what I'm talking about. Again, hopeless communication. They put me on hold forever, it rings again, another person answers, no idea what I'm talking about. Ask to speak with Manager on duty since I am now in the store to pick up my item. Well, at this point of pure frustration, nothing is looking up. The kid girl manager comes out, giving me excuse after excuse, she's been off 2 days, no one relayed anything to her, we only hold for 24 hours (first time I heard this), let's search the store, etc. I am FURIOUS at this point. Due to their pathetic lack of recording info, relaying info, zero score for customer service, the blouse has disappeared. Sold to someone else. Furious does not even begin to describe how I feel about H & M's ignoramus policy about their visual crap and not selling the item on the spot. I've strolled in twice during two separate staycations in Waikīkī. First time was a few years ago, needed a couple work tops to wear under cardigans or blazers. Surprisingly, scored a great deal for sale, only spent under $30 for two. Second visit happened to be last month. I didn't expect to find a large modern sturdy tote bag for $24 and last wireless undergarment in my size for $12.99. Too bad I didn't find anymore while searching high and low. Two reasons for deducting two stars: 1) Fitting room was very dusty along the edges and corners of the floor. Somewhat reminded me of removing lint after running a cycle in front load dryer. 2) There's no one on sales floor except two cashiers running the registers. H&M really downgrades clothing to the next level. This is even cheaper than shopping at Walmart. Typical T-shirt $5 or less. Men's belts, less than $10. These items are made in the 3rd world. They are cheap because they're cheaply made. They do not survive the washer 3 times. People often talk about global warming but think about it. I ended up stopping by this H&M because, surprise, surprise - needed some beach wear that wasn't going to be up-charged through the roof! The location is easy to spot (being a corner store) and usually has a lot of people entering and leaving at any time of day. When I came inside, I was concerned they wouldn't have beachwear since their display was Fall & Winter 2022 ready. The front of the store is really organized with complimentary colors, textures, and accessories to make shopping easy! Even though I came for some board shorts, I couldn't help but linger around, seeing all of the cool designs! The first floor is primarily women's and accessories, but there is a double stair case leading towards men's clothing. I liked seeing that they had a large men's selection, since I've seen men's get overlooked quite a bit in storefronts. Either that, or the clothing designs feel too 'forced' and not fashionable at all. H&M did a great job ensuring no matter what style you're interested in, there was something for everyone! The clothing and general store flowed really well together. I ended up getting exactly what I needed, checking out, and on my way! The line to checkout isn't long at all. I think I noticed they had checkout upstairs in men's as well, but opted for women's since I was there already. As far as customer service goes, I didn't ask anyone for help and wasn't approached either. For me, this wasn't necessary for a good trip but my cashier was nice, and that was enough for me! I think if you're looking for a nice clothing store that is on trend with good variety, H&M is a solid place with great prices. My recent trip to Ross was a bit of a let down because many things are picked through, but H&M pulled through and saved the trip! The prices here were also comparable with Ross, so you aren't missing out either. It was also nice to be able to find my size here without compromising style. There's some controversial reason not to come here. Was it an ad maybe with a monkey and a little african american boy. I guess I was more of a fan of this store when I was a tooth pick coming out of high school. I mean most of the fits are for skinny people with out much muscle development. Even when I was in exceptional shape. My thighs and calfs were too thick for 90% of their pants and my chest and shoulders too wide for their pants. My wife likes their clothes but she was a fit model at some point. The do have some fun accessories for men and some bootleg sneakers. But that's about it for me. Every time I'm in town, I love to stop by this H&M location! Despite being in the heart of Waikiki amongst high end shops and tough competition, I always find great deals here. This past trip, I was on a mission to find a blazer to add to my wardrobe. I perused the store and was happy to find a nice selection in varying colors. I was able to find the perfect blazer rather quickly and it fit me quite nicely. They're not all in one section and seem to be paired with other pieces that you could layer and would go great together which I really like. They have their more dressy/business looks towards the front and as you go towards the back, you'll find more casual, basic pieces like shirts, jeans, & underwear. They also have footwear, makeup, bags, & accessories. Upstairs is the men's department which has a pretty good selection as well in my opinion. If ever your luggage gets lost or need a last minute outfit that doesn't break the bank, this is your one stop shop in Waikiki. They also have tons of sales on multiple racks, so you can find yourself lost in them for hours. I usually go towards the end of the night so I have a time limit and really need to think about what I'm looking for. 4 stars though because the doorway can often be crowded as street performers tend to gather a large crowd in front of the store. Also, this last time, the smell in the store was almost unbearable. I'm not sure what it was, but it was terrible like sewage and the air didn't seem to be flowing as it was really hot towards the back. It's always an adventure to shop at H&M. I usually buy their things online because they have great deals. Their shipping takes forever to get to Hawaii but it's worth it. With online shopping though, because you can't try it on, you don't know what it looks like on your body. Many times with H&M I think it looks cute in the picture online but when I buy it, it just doesn't look cute on my body or it doesn't fit my body right. That part doesn't really bother me, because it's a excuse to go to the store. I love going to H&M, it's like an adventure day because I love just walking around in Waikiki. It is really an unsatisfying experience in the store. My girlfriend and I walked in the store with two Starbucks, because we believe there is no policy saying no food or drink is allowed. But when we are shopping, we put the cup on the table. And one of the hm workers walk straight to my girlfriend and give her a nasty look to her. Saying that you make the cloth dirty and we can not sell it anymore. But it actually just water on the table. She kept saying this loudly to other people as well. Found a cute jacket that I can wear anytime $15 and a "sweater"...really light weight and kind of a blue green...need to get more color into my wardrobe. The place was packed...the staff was nice...the supervisor Mike was great...very friendly and makes you want to go back...some of the staff needs training...one cashier gave my girlfriend a hard time...no excuse for rudeness...hopefully they will smooth things out as they go...just a learning curve. One of my FB friends was bashing H&M for bringing "old styles" to Hawaii. She claims she bought those things in LV and SF last fall and in February...but honestly, do we really care! Finally, H&M in Hawaii!! I used to live walking distance to two H&M, imagine my sadness when there wasn't an H&M in Hawaii, but now I can shop away since it's permanently in Waikiki. The store is spacious and tidy. Workers are helpful if you need to find another size or color. During weekends, the checkout line can be annoying long, but that's to be expected. H&M has a marvelous mix of trendy and casual clothing items. I also find the price point to be quite fair and every now and again, there are discounts and sales. This was a super convenient stop. I was on my way to a corporate event and needed a basic white cami to complete my outfit. We parked in the Waikiki Business plaza in the same building as H&M, Top of Waikiki and Sky Waikiki. From our parking floor we took the elevator to the first floor, street level, and walked 2mins to H&M. As soon as I opened the door I instantly noticed the sale signs on the racks near the door so I began there. Lots of basic/solid colors are sold here. From casual wear to active and business attire, they have it all. Not too many prints and the prices are such a steal. Because I worked in retail a long while ago, i noticed a lack in customer service. No one to greet customers in the front or mentioning the promos, no one cleaning the floor, and nobody watching the fitting room! Yikes!! Where were all the workers? I only seen one cashier tending to a line of about 3-5 people... The store is very spacious so that's a plus for mommy's with strollers. read more

All their clothes are really cheap and they actually look good! Their slim fit long sleeve shirts fit me so nicely that I wear them to work and people compliment me on it! They have great deals and clearance items. I got a pair of suspenders and a skinny tie for $1.50 each! Customer service here is great. So far all of my interactions with workers have been positive. The guy who opens the front door is also pretty cool and I appreciate that he wears a suit in the heat of Hawaii. Men's section is upstairs. It's nice that they have a large men's section, considering many places have decreased the size of their men's section because men don't shop as much (presumably). Only problem is parking. I park at the Royal Hawaiian and walk over but you don't get a validation so it's really expensive. You can try to find street parking on Ala Wai blvd but it's pretty far away and parking there is limited. Bottom Line: My go-to store. I don't know what it is about their workers (both management and associates) but they are usually not friendly.. My first time at this location I was shopping with some friends. I noticed one of the associates was mocking us and this said "b****" " and I guess his coworker saw the expression on my face and came over to apologize for the way he was acting because he was "in a bad mood". We left the store because we were so uncomfortable by the workers after that. Today, I went to shop here for the first time in forever and it was going pretty well. One of the managers greeted which was nice. When I went to check out Jenelle was pretty friendly until I turned her down for the sign ups (because of my previous experience and wasn't planning on shopping with HM for a while.) I told her "no thank you" and she was very silent after. She did not even bother saying bye or thank you after the transaction so I thanked her and said bye myself.. Im not nitpicky BUT u need a flashlight upstairs---over half the lights are off - how u gunna sell dark clothes IN the dark? I was thinking "maybe they wanna keep electric costs low" because if u notice the lights on both floors are only working at half. Former Visual department here, couldn't help but look... And then I come to the busted shoerack upstairs in the middle of the mens floor---- So this is the store with prime real estate in the center of Waikiki that has carried Versace and Balmain collabs with the fancy staircase---and an overworked staff thats too tasked to say hello... I was jus disappointed in the condition of where retail that I liked has gone. I'm old school-It used to be about presentation and service. Went here to look for some Jean's but all they have is slim and skinny. I needed loose fit but no where on the mens floor did they have that size. I guess they're targeting a certain customer base and thats a little discriminating. I'm not a heavy person I just don't like skinny or slim. The other bummer was that I've read here on several reviews that H&M validates parking if you park in the building. But according to the cashier Lance... when I simply asked if I could get a parking validation (after purchasing 3 shirts) he said (with no welcoming expression) "NO, WE DON'T DO THAT" I was like "whooa" this MF!! MERCHANDISE: I for one was not impressed with the quality of the clothing and shoes. The materials look & felt cheap, and everything was priced accordingly. Same for the shoes. Smack in the middle of Waikiki, the location couldn't be better. There are two floors with women on floor one and men on floor two. this place is bright, clutter free and even a DJ at the front entrance. I have never been to one where there was a DJ playing music. The music was great with a wide range of genres. There is a huge selection of clothes to choose from with prices that are amazing. H&M definitely is one of the best locations, the only reason for the four stars is because other locations have children's clothes and this one did not. all in all a great place to pick up great clothes at great prices. read more

Well being Waikiki and walking around I decided to drop in to check out the Men's Department which is the whole second floor of the new store. I was excited that they had a larger selection of men's clothing, larger than Forever 21 across the street in the Royal Hawaiian Center. That excitement didn't last too long as I browsed through the selection of clothes, I feel that the styles H&M offer repeat themselves. Also I didn't find the clothing styles appealing, especially being a store in Waikiki and Hawaii. The women's department might be a different subject as the variety of clothing and accessories offered are much larger. As for me sometimes Bigger is not better, it's what you have to offer to and the way you utilize your space...Forever 21 has a better variety in a smaller space, IMO.. read more

Parking Parking Parking: H&M solved the Waikiki parking problem! Let's face it, parking in Waikiki is a deal killer for most locals!! But, I just happen to know where and how to park in Waikiki. So I worked my magic and found cheap parking for the family mobile. Next time I'm parking right at the store now that I know. Designated Driver: Once inside there were some other "old guy" dads standing around the store too just like me. Eventually we sort of stood around together. I know my wahines appreciated the ride. The H&M grand opening was a pretty big deal. We'll get pay back on Father's Day. Low Cost Hip Fashion: Similar to H&Ms I've been to on the mainland and in Europe. Seems a bit smaller to me to me though. Lots of very cheap stylish stuff. My daughter got a pair of skinny jeans that fit perfectly for $10. Not everything is that cheap but the bargains are there. You have to look around a bit. My wife also found a couple of things that she liked. It is not all teenager, young hipster fashion. There is a + size section and a huge mens department too. Location: On mauka side of Kalakaua in the The Waikiki Business Plaza. That is the building with the rotating restaurant "The Top of Waikiki". So if you are driving down Kalakua look for the The Waikiki Business Plaza and turn left onto Seaside. Don't go past Seaside. Entrances to parking are there just after you turn the corner. More Parking: Locals will love this!! 3 hours free with validation from a purchase in the The Waikiki Business Plaza garage or in the nearby Waikiki Shopping Plaza garage just off of Lauula behind that building. Signs clearly mark the parking entrances. Both garages say $5 flat rate, H&M parking 3 hrs free with validation and $2.50 an hour over 3 hrs. Venue: On the ground floor with entrance in the front of the building. No escalator but there is one elevator up to the men's dept. There is also very nice glass stair case which is sort of fancy. Would have been much better with an escalator. Lots of cash registers and nice well organized dressing rooms. Restrooms: No one else will tell you this but there are Zero, Zip...Nada restrooms available!! Now you know! Plan your visit accordingly. When shopping with ladies, this info is essential. Is anyone else getting sick and tired of managers with no customer service etiquette?! Yes I know the tank top that I'm returning is 20 days over the refund date but I don't want a store credit because your plus size section sucks. There are literally puff jacket vests and leather pants still there from grand opening. Have you ever heard of a plus size sale section? The manager told me that she's not in charge of buying (so it's not her fault). And that I can get a store credit and shop at a store on the mainland with a better selection! What?! I live here, how insulting and not to mention rude!!! Meanwhile, the two girls that were originally checking me out stood and stared at me like we were a boxing ring or something. One proceeded to put a censor back on the shirt. Then asked me, so are you going to keep it? When I gave her a sideways look. She decided she wasn't going to poke another hole in my garment. Bottom line: I was doing you a favor by putting an actual appropriate piece of clothing back on your sales floor. (The only reason why I was returning it, was because the blank tank in the same style shrunk till it was almost u recognizable). But the manager didn't have time for that. H&M first opened its doors just earlier this year and has quickly become a mainstay for stylists and general consumers alike. Whether you're looking for a current style, or perhaps hoping to save a few bucks on a new outfit, H&M is a viable choice. Guest designers including fashion powerhouses Rei Kawakubo and Alexander Wang release collaborations at H&M. Check the H&M collaborations calendar regularly to stay abreast of the next release because these styles go fast. The Waikiki store might not get the full line in, so it is best to check in person once the clothes hit the shelves. The athletic wear is a section I particularly recommend for style and functionality. The designs are comparable to Armani Exchange with a lower price point. The displays are always spot on and whoever does them is nothing short of a wizard. They really know their stuff. The two major drawbacks to shopping at H&M are the atrocious customer service and inconvenient parking options. Your experience will be better knowing these two things beforehand. The customer service in the men's department could be likened to a factory store at an outlet mall. The employees are there to move product and not garner customer loyalty. There's been several occasions where a particular guy yelled at customers for annoying him when they didn't speak English. Ouch! So much for working at a company with an international presence! H&M no longer provides validation for parking even with purchase. Best alternatives are in the Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center, or Ross. In short, optimize your savings by shopping efficiently to avoid high parking fees, and also bringing in old garments to donate for 15% off your purchase / one item (not sure because I've received both mark downs). Oh H&M, how I long to love thee. Ive been to other H&M locations on the mainland and crave the same selection, service and amenities. Their flagship store in Las Vegas is to die for! With friendly staff that actually know where their merchandise is, and everything is organized by look and style. Heres my review for this not-so-paradise location. First off, this location has NO parking. Thats right folks, like many other shops in Waikiki, there is no parking offered to customers here. So either find street parking (HAH!) or park in a paid lot. The security detail at the front is not welcoming at all, his presence basically screams, "DONT EVEN TRY TO STEAL FROM HERE!" as you enter. No real hello or smile. I also cant stand how badly everything is organized! For the amount of space this store has, its crazy that the styles are all over the place. Looking for business? head to the back, swim suits? to the wall on the left, oh you wanted a business-casual cardigan? Those are toward the front of the store. Looking for basics? GOOD LUCK finding the colors and cuts your want, because they are allll over the store. It seems their staff is only trained to fold piles of clothes and talk to their co-workers. I wandered around their sales floor for a good 5 minutes looking for someone to pull down a dress I wanted from a high up display. The girl I finally found also seemed so annoyed that I wanted a specific size? Im sorry, I didnt know I should just take the first size 10 you offered.... Lets talk about the fitting room: Most times there's a mediocre worker there, folding clothes or talking with their co-worker (a specialty of theirs if you didnt know) The limit is 7 items, so if you have more then 7, make sure they don't lose those items! I've been the victim of the, "oh I think someone put your selections away..." excuses. If you find that you grabbed the wrong size or need a different size of something again, GOOD LUCK getting the staff to help you out. I asked my attendant for an XS in a dark colored shirt, they came back with the same Small Neutral shirt I gave them for reference. Not the biggest help. Return policy is 30 days with receipt and tag attached. Overall, if you have an hour to kill (with no car to worry about) and the patience to sift through random items, H&M may be the place for you. read more
