These guys are FANTASTIC and I was overly impressed!!. My move was on June 29 and I'm always nervous with movers because of three bad experiences, but Wolley movers were great to work with. Xavier was the lead guy and Nico & Carlos made up the rest of team who were pleasant, funny, eager and efficient. These guys hustled from the moment they walked in to the minute they finished. They carefully wrapped everything and didn't break or scratch a single thing. My quote was over the phone for 3 hours was to be 450 dollars. We just went over 30 minutes and the final cost was 545 dollars, but still worth the price because New City Movers and EZ Movers quote for 3 hours was coming to 800 dollars. To sum up, you should definitely use Wolley Movers these guys are worth it and don't over charge. read more

these guys did an awesome job. arrived (mostly) on time and were done before the estimated time. they charge for packing stuff so things like wrapping furniture ended up being a little more than i thought but balanced against having really dirty or more broken stuff, i've paid more for moves before. most of my boxes ended up in the right rooms (color coding helps for the english challenged). no money down to reserve them for the day made me a little nervous, but they called to confirm the day before and showed up just like they said they would. no dings to the walls means i even go the condo elevator fee back, wahoo! they made a usually painful experience for me run very smoothly read more

Pricier than other places, but they were available when I needed them. Also, the movers complained a bit about having to move my things. Watch out for their $10 shrink wrap fee, they will try and shrink wrap everything even if you only point out specific things. They were early, though, and quick, and stayed within the 3 hour time limit. They make up for that, though, with the shrink wrapping! read more

I was so impressed with how quickly and carefully they moved my things, including taking apart my bedframe in one location and assembling it in the other and shrinkwrapping all my items. Rating them one star on customer service alone. I requested a quote and quickly received one which was great, however the woman working called me constantly. Every single day, even multiple times a day. I understand wanting to be thorough and follow up on business, but it was so excessive. People work jobs and have busy lives, I appreciate the thought but it was way too much. I won't be moving with this company for that reason alone. No one wants to be solicited with so many calls. The crew was hired to do multiple moves at once. We had a mix up with the address, which caused an arrival delay, but was easily resolved. They moved household goods and furniture from a storage unit to a POD and then moved me out of my 2700 soft house, placing additional items into the POD and taking the remainder to another house. These guys are professional and HARD WORKING. I had a hard time keeping up with THEIR pace. Never once was anyone standing around doing nothing. If I had things that are not ready to go, they helped me with packing and wrapping furniture to ensure no scratches. I couldn't have asked for a better team. All furniture and items were moved safely with no damage. I would highly recommend them for any moves. read more

I HIGHLY recommend Wolley Movers! From my first phone call to shacking their hand goodbye, the entire moving processes was easy. I booked Wolley Movers based on a co-workers recommendation and when I called to book my appointment, the booking agent Emily, gave me two free wardrobe boxes since I was a referral. Before I even hung up the phone, a confirmation email was in my inbox. A few of the details were wrong but I called to change them with no problems. On the day of the move, the movers arrived 15 minutes early and brought three men instead of two. I had initially only reserved to pay for two but they brought a third for an additional job they had later in the day. The additional guy would be an extra $25 an hour and it was my decision if I wanted to utilize him or not. I appreciated the upfront notice. I decided to use him as my stuff needed to be moved and I didn't want to pay more than my 3-hour minimum requirement. Freddie, the Foreman, explained all their billing, additional charges and rules with me before loading any boxes into their truck. I was informed that I would need two additional wardrobe boxes for my clothing as well as shrink-wrap for my bed, couch, dresser, etc. I would be charged $5 a box as well as $10 for the shrink-wrap. I didn't want to pay extra but at least I was informed before anything was started. Once I signed on the dotted line, they moved quickly and VERY carefully. I had fragile boxes, glass containers and everything arrived safely and unbroken. I have beautiful stain glass windows and was worried about the movers moving them, however, before they even wrapped them, one of the guys pointed out that a panel was broken and took extra care in wrapping them. I appreciated his attention to detail! After the entire move was completed, I met with Freddie again and he went over the contract with me. They only charged me for 3 hours of moving (even though they were here for an additional 20 minutes) and they didn't charge for the extra two wardrobe boxes. Overall, this was a great experience and I plan to use Wolley Movers next time I move! read more

I recently used this moving company towards the end of October. The ordering process was fine.. At first I was a little confused on if they supplied the moving tools, I later found out that everything to move was included.. and the tape to wrap my furniture was free. I had a small move of only one bedroom set so I wasn't expecting to spend over 400 bucks to move.. And with this company I didn't, every one else wanted more... They have great service. However, be careful in terms of appointment setting with them as they arrived to move me 2 hours early ! I was also hit with an additional 50 dollar fee that I was not expecting for them having to detach/un-screw my mirror from my dresser... However, I would definitely use these guys again. read more

We recently used Wolley Movers for the second time and I can't say enough about how wonderful the experience was. The office is organized and make the reservation and confirmation easy. The movers were courteous, extremely efficient and cared about keeping our things safe during the move. The price we paid to move a 1 bedroom apartment from the top floor into our new place all in 2 hours 45 minutes was an excellent value. Most professional, efficient, and reasonably-priced moving experience I had. I was told that the movers would arrive between 8 and 9 am, and based on previous moving experience, of course I didn't expect them before 9. They were at my door at 7.59 am. Admittedly, I didn't have that much stuff to move (bed, desk, dresser, dining room table, about 6 chairs, a couple small tables, and about 15 boxes), but I was amazed by how quickly they were done with getting everything into the truck (and I use to live on the third floor, with no elevator). Since I don't have a car, they let me ride on the passenger's cabin with them, and were extremely nice regarding this unusual request. Half an hour after we got to the new place, they were done unloading - including reassembling the furniture they had to dissemble in order to fit in the stairwell, which they do free of charge. They were extremely cautious and meticulous in dealing with the furniture, which all came through unscratched. The $300 I paid, which is more than reasonable, were worth every cent. I am sure to call them again on my next move. read more

I used them for my local move from a suburb to downtown, less than 20 miles apart. I reserved the mover for a 10am pickup and they called me the day before to see if it would be alright to push it back to 1pm due to their schedule conflicts. I said no and they were ok to keep it at 10am but sent me a different mover called Crescent. A 3-man crew arrived on time at 10am, loaded everything very efficiently, quickly drove down to the new apartment, and completed unloading withing the estimated time of 3 hours, which was their minimum charge time. I was happy with their handling till they gave me the final invoice. In addition to the originally quoted hourly ratex3+one time travel fee, I was charged $5 for two tapes that they claimed that they used to load my furniture. No one told me that there was an additional charge for such a basic item. I feel that they should have explained to me when they used these expensive tapes or at least when they presented the final bill to me. I didn't realize that $5 extra was charged until later and didn't bother to call them. It was only an additional $5 for my move because I didn't have much furniture. I wish they were more transparent with their estimates and price structure. They will accept either cash or credit card. read more

Wolley is the BEST moving company in Chicago! I have used them three times now and won't go to anyone else. In the past I have used Freddie's crew - who did a great job both times and was incredibly fast and efficient. For this move (Sept 2013) I used Joel and his crew and they were fantastic - they moved my 2 bed apartment in a little under 4 hours - which was faster than I expected as they quoted me 5 hours. They are reasonably priced as well - and they work hard to get the job done. Plus, everyone in Joel's crew was incredibly kind and professional. All I had to do was point them in the right direction and it was good to go. Highly recommend them for your next move. These guys were great. I called almost 20 movers trying to find someone available for the 1st and was finally put in touch with this company. Crescent Movers referred me to them, as Wolley Movers is their brother company. They called the day before the move and showed up 10 minutes before the start time. They had everything completed in 3 hours, which included a 45 minute break in the middle where I needed to go pick up keys to the 2nd location. I had 3 guys who were very professional and the price was reasonable. Joel especially was hard working and very friendly. He really went out of his way to make the experience as enjoyable as possible. My second location wasn't easy either, as it was on the 4th floor and only has one very small elevator to work with. DO NOT USE WOLLEY MOVERS. I moved a 1 bedroom from Lakeview to Hyde Park. It took 9 and a half hours because "their truck broke down." Was more than $100 over estimate. A good amount of my stuff was broken. I will most likely have to pay a $100 fine to my building for not making my move in window, (which was 6 hours long), and loose part of my security deposit for the walls they smashed in my apartment. Why did I even have to pay them? I would be more understanding of the broke down truck, if they called to tell me about it. I beat them to my apartment: I expected that. I called an hour later to ask where they were and they said Ashland and Lake. another hour later I called and they said they would be at my place soon: they were at 47th and Western (That is the wrong direction). I then called the company to make sure I wouldn't be charged for all this extra time, but I was still charged for some of it... I waited for them for 5 hours. I could have walked my stuff in a wagon in that amount of time. I have never written a poor review, but I created this yelp account to write this poor review. I feel you should be warned, and I would suggest canceling any move you have scheduled with them. I called to make a formal complaint with them, but I guess I was too friendly or they just write your name down and forget about it... I moved into that apartment in less time from further away 2 years earlier, but I used a different company. read more

I can't say enough good things about Wolley Movers. I'm so glad we had their help with moving. They were nice and helpful scheduling the move over the phone. Their rates are affordable and unbeatable when we called around. The guys arrived 15 mins earlier than scheduled (3 movers) and they started immediately with moving our furniture & boxes. They were fast, careful, resourceful, and very efficient. Our new place doesn't have an elevator and we live on the 3rd floor. They were able to manage without complaining or breaking any of our stuff and impressively finished everything in under 4 hrs. We're really glad we chose these guys! I filled out the form for an estimate and Norman was very helpful with an explanation of the different prices I could go with when I called in to schedule the move. The crew (Freddy, Luis, Emilio and Chando) arrived on time and were very diligent on getting the job complete. They were all very polite and asked questions if they were unsure about an item. Before leaving, the entire crew walked around and asked anything else. The move was so quick and when we arrived at the new location it seemed like they were finished in a matter of minutes. I wouldn't wish Wolley movers upon my worst enemy. Let me explain.... I booked Wolley a couple of weeks before my move. Everything was set for them to come in the morning to do the move. Then, no one showed up. No call, no show. Probably the worst thing that can happen with a moving company. The day that I was trying to move out, someone was trying to move in. I talked to owner, who told me "Oh, ok...our truck is on the way". Well, that truck was "on the way" for 4 hours. I kept calling back, and the owner would put me on hold, then make other claims like he had everything under control. Everything was NOT under control. I had to call another moving company at 3pm to move me out. Things are pretty expensive when you book something that needs to get there soon. Then, the owner kept telling me that he was going to give me some sort of refund for me having to take another day off, and that he was going to make things right. He never did after countless back-and-forth emails and calls. He said that he sent a check in the mail, said that I should have received it, then said that he was going to even drop off the check at my new apartment. No check, nothing. I would have preferred if this guy told me to go jump off a bridge and never call him again. At least then, I know where he stands. But this guy was a coward and never lived up to his word. Thanks, Wolley Movers...next time I'll just flush money down the toilet, kick myself in the crotch and then call another moving company and STILL have a better experience. read more

They sent out three awesome movers and they were done within the amount of time that they had suggested they would need. They were professional and courteous and did not damage any property at all. Very disappointed with the process in getting a quote and the bait and switch marketing. I saw an ad for $70/hr and for 2 movers, so i called and tried to book. once i called i was told that that rate is not available to me because i wanted to move near month end (27th). I was treated very rudely and hung up on one i said i was only calling to get advertised price and wasn't interested in the $500 minimum moving quote i was given with additional hourly rates being at 110/hr minimum. We were quoted $85 for 3 guys and I booked it right then and there. On time, and amazingly fast. They moved a 3 bedroom apartment in 4 hours...the easiest moving experience we have ever had! They waste no time and started packing and moving things while my partner was reviewing and signing the paperwork. No damage to the furniture or either building. I recently hired Wolley Movers to take care of a small move for us. They damaged a support beam on our couch and they refuse to remedy the problem. Additionally the gentlemen moving our items decided to take a lunch break with our items in the back of their truck on the way to our new house; and then they charged me for it! Norman who identifies himself as the manager of Wolley Movers is so incredibly rude and unprofessional. I have filed a dispute with my CC company and with the BBB. I gave them an opportunity to fix the issue and Norman finds in appropriate to scream and yell at his paying customers on the phone and insist that his company is not liable for any damage sustained during the move. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO ANYONE! Spend the extra money with a different company that offers better customer service. Oh and make sure you have cash, because the gentlemen moving your items will ask you to tip them. read more

I gave Wolley one star because Yelp required it, however that is overrating them. I made a reservation over a week ago and the movers were due to arrive at 1 pm. They got here at 4:12pm, gave me a different price than the one I was quoted and demanded $380 in cash BEFORE they would move the truck to the back. The guy told me that it would take FOUR men over three hours to move me from my apartment. I used them to move here and it took three men only TWO hours. I have less furniture now than when I moved in because both my daughter and brother had moved out. Then they also said that they wouldn't move anything that wasn't wrapped in plastic which is $30 per piece. I told my daughter to go to the ATM and the movers said that they had to move the truck to the back. I said okay. I called the office about the cash payment because I used Wolley's before and paid a deposit by credit card and the balance when they were done by credit card with no problem, I even gave each mover a $30 tip. I spoke to the dispatcher and she said that it's the movers decision as to when and how they wanted to be paid. And if they want cash up front then it's their choice. The movers told me that they were going to the back of the building to start loading. Fifteen minutes later, when the mover didn't come to the back of the buiding, I called back to the office and now its five o'clock on a Friday evening . The dispatcher said that they probably had to go down to another street to turn around. She put me on hold then came back to the phone to say that they told her that I refused to pay so they left. I told her that that wasn't true and that they told me that they were moving the truck to the back. I told her that I have to be out of the apartment by the next day as the new owner wants possession and that I was in jeopardy of losing my security deposit. Her response was we're not going to move you. I told her that I was calling the Better Business Bureau and she told me 'go ahead, they don't care". I told her that I would review them on Yelp and again she said go ahead, I don't care. I was highly upset because I was a repeat customer and I've referred several people to them. I've never heard of workers deciding when and how they wanted to be paid. This was completely different than my previous experience and very disturbing! read more

The following reasons: -Late by 45 minutes (yes there was open communication between Wolley and me, but nearly an hour late and all communication was initiated by me) -Broken items (I know we can't have miracles) -Stolen items -The movers asking for more tip at the end -Box labeled DVD's torn to shreds (too bad glasses were in there, and not DVDs. I guess that's what I get for recycling boxes) I believe I was respectful during the move, and never short tempered. I even offered and provided bottle drinks for the movers. I called Wolley Movers apron. 3 weeks before my move. They quoted me the best price out of 8 moving companies I called so I went ahead with the move. Emily was very nice and professional even called me the night before where we made modifications to the original quote. I knew the guys would be late due to traffic but was an hour late. Then I met the movers... That is where trouble began They wanted to shrink wrap EVERYTHING!! Please explain why my freezers needed to be shrink wrapped? The team leader was far from pleasant even asking me if I could unload my freezers to "make it easier to move" I was upfront and honest about everything we were moving including my FULL freezers. The english was either non existent or very bad. half way through loading of the trucks they asked if we had any water which we did not. I went to go buy some bottles. After the trucks were loaded I went to go buy the guys some lunch since we were told we would not be charged for their lunch break. Just a note I ALWAYS buy lunch (or dinner) for workers we hire. We got the new house we all ate lunch. I left to go to the bank so I could tip for the guys my husband was there with the men. When I got back we were unloading the rest of the items. After the trucks were empty walked into the house with the team leader to fill out the rest of the paper work. That was when he told me he was not going to take off the 30 minute lunch and was quite rude when I asked why not. We also found pumpkin and pistachio seed shells spit all over our floors. They also did not leave us with the rest of the shrink wrap we had to buy. After the card was taken and I didn't put in a tip he then asked me 3 TIMES "You not going to tip the guys for all the hard work?" Hmmm I think not after I was LIED to! One of the guys even DUG OUT A PLANT FROM OUR RENTAL!!! They didn't even ask! I called Emily sent pictures and still nothing was done. I was assured they were going to issues a refund for the 30 minutes and have yet to see that. Here is the break down: 1 - Over use of packing materials. I am sorry but do you really need to put a half roll of tape around the garden stakes or boxes I had already packed?? Tape is not cheap and WE supplied it! 2 - Talking bad about us and how cheap we are to your crew in spanish is not a way to make a good impression. 3 - leaving your personal items in house. One of the guys left a sweatshirt I now have to ship back because they are located 1 hour from my husbands work. 4 - Being told we would not be charged for a lunch break when we clearly were. 5 - spitting seed shells on the floor of our new rental. 6 - digging up a plant from the front yard of our new rental. 7 - badgering us about not leaving a tip. They could have had one. Remember I left to go to the bank after we arrived at the new rental. 8 - Not letting us keep the roll of shrink wrap we paid $50 for 9 - being told I would be getting a call to discuss what happened. Still waiting! It has been almost a week. 10 - Should I mention the muddy shoe prints I had to scrub out of the carpet from the house we just moved from?? Lack of respect. I've been meaning to write this review for years! I've used Wolley Movers for my last 3? 4? moves...the last time being this past July. Booking has always been easy and pricing straight forward. The real factor is the actual movers who show up. Unfortunately, I don't remember the names of the guys that moved me this last time but they do deserve high fives for the awesome service. On time, prepared, exceedingly polite and busted a$$ to get it done. Unlike everyone who says "I hate moving", I honestly cant say it because of Wolley....now if they'd offer unpacking services I'd move even more. :) But seriously, I have recommended them to multiple friends and they have all had the same great experience. I've booked 2 different moves with Wolley Movers, both experiences have been great! The first time, I called Wolley to book a move 2 days before (which is really last minute to decide you want movers and most people were booked) but i'm so glad Wolley was able to make time for my little move. I was moving from a 1 bedroom apartment in Lincoln Park to the West Loop, was quoted 3 guys, and the 3 hour minimum. I knew my move was not going to take 3 hours since i had already packed everything myself so they agreed to give me 2 movers, Alejandro and Tony. The day came and they called to ask if they could come 30 minutes early, which was not a problem with me. Once they got to my place, looked at what i had, and the best way to move things in and out and got straight to work. I moved into an elevator building so the unloading was much quicker than the loading but they got it done, with the commute in just over an hour and a half! I was shocked but was so happy and didn't mind paying for the 3 hour minimum because they could've taken the full time but i'm assuming once they're done with my move they can get to the next one and be done early for the day. Also really appreciated them being very careful unloading and moving my stuff into my new place since if you've moved into a condo building before, you know the damage deposit is pretty high, and is only refunded if you don't ding up the walls. The second time was when my boyfriend and i moved from West Loop to Old Town. This time i brooked almost a month in advance, we got Ronald (and someone else who's name wasn't on the receipt, sorry i can't remember!) Anyways, pretty much the same experience, except this time we had double the stuff and it did take 3 hours. They were still quick and efficient, i just had a few more things that needed shrink wrapping and more furniture and boxes. Also something to note, we moved from one condo building to another and the woman on the phone suggested we take the first time slot of the day (9am) to prevent any delays to meet our move out/ in windows for each building. We got pretty lucky that our buildings had the availability but i appreciated the advice when i called to book this move. I will definitely be calling Wolley again for my next move. read more

I booked Wolley for my move 2 weeks ago and could not have been more disappointed. I have worked with them for 2 previous moves and they did a great job. I will never be booking them again. We were given an estimate that our move should take about 3-4 hours. On move day, they sent 3 men for a 2 bedroom apartment. Denise with Wolley wrote down that we only had a 1 bedroom, even though I had email confirmation that we had a 2 bedroom. The men spent the first 45 minutes just debating with us how they couldn't get the move done with only 3 guys. We didn't really have another option, so they finally got started. The move ultimately took SIX hours. Our estimate on cost was 440 dollars and the move wound up costing $1200! The also wrapped EVERYTHING, even items that didn't require wrapping, which they charged us even more for. Not only did the move go WELL over the estimated time, but they also broke a mirror. I called Wolley twice to try and resolve this issue, and both times they said they would get back to me. They never did. They said management has been busy every time.
