I added on packing paper to the order 3 days after placing it. 1) When the order arrived I found a bug in the bubble wrap. 2) I was asked to delay my pickup date, which I did even though tiny apartments in Chicago don't leave much room for storing large plastic tubs and it really messed with my ability to properly move in and decorate. 3) On pickup day the driver didn't want to take the elevator upstairs to pickup the boxes so I had to bring them down to the ground floor myself. On their website picking up boxes is included in the price. There were no stairs for him to navigate at all so there really wasn't an excuse for this. 4) A month after placing (and being charged for) my order I received a receipt for an additional charge. I called multiple times to figure out what the charge was for but no one ever answered the phone. I even responded to the text they sent but received no response. I did some math to figure out it was for the packing paper that I guess they forgot to charge for. This last issue is what really made me write this review. To go around charging people's card and not telling them what for is crazy. Not a horrible experience but I'll probably try another company next time.

If I stop by early in the morning or late in the evening, I'm typically done within 5 minutes. It's that easy. I love that the facility is climate controlled (for my own comfort primarily), and I don't have any concerns about safely, knowing that access is strictly monitored. My property was collected in Chicago on June 20th with a promise of arrival in Mississippi within 10 days maximum. As of July 13th, I have still not received my belongings. Furthermore, they demanded the remaining balance be paid in cash before they would even attempt delivery. Rather than professional movers, they appear to utilize untrained day laborers to handle personal property. 2. They attempted to impose unauthorized additional charges on my shipment, which I believe is deceptive and fraudulent. 3. I deeply regret not reading previous reviews, such as the one from Liz S. in July 2024; had I done so, I never would have engaged with this company. 4. If you value the condition of your property and expect delivery as contractually agreed upon, I strongly advise against using Asher Movers. Additionally, I contracted with Safe Ship Moving, who delegated the job to Asher Movers. Both companies have proven to be dishonest and unprofessional. Safe Ship provided conflicting information when I attempted to resolve these issues. I caution others against relying on the online ratings for this broker, as the process appears to be inherently flawed and deceptive. Please conduct thorough, independent research before selecting a moving company, as this experience has been an absolute nightmare. They are planning out that truck, and the staff to move it, based upon your numbers. If you have even 2 more boxes then estimated for, it causes an issue with space and the price you'll pay. In our case, I provided the measurements for everything we were shipping and added a couple extra boxes to my estimate for good measure. #2 Read the documents. In the case of breakage / damage. Not only did I get the insurance information early, the gentlemen on the morning of our move went over it in detail. Basic included insturance is at $.65# That doesn't cover much of anything. Additional insurance is available to purchase. Yes, I know it sounds kinda shady, but they do not hide the coverage or the cost of it. #3 Be nice. The people showing up for the move are people with a job. They get paid the same regardless of any issues. Have some waters available, be polite to them and appreciate the back breaking work you had no interest in doing yourself. #4 - Be prepared. We had all the boxes stacked in one room and everything cleaned out ready to go. It made it so much easier to count the boxes out and left room for them to prep up our furniture with moving blankets they provided. Also, clear space for them to get in and out without tripping over stuff. If you are living in an apartment buiding as we were, try and reserve space for thier truck. In the end, our move from Wis to Florida went pretty much spot on. Our price was our qouted price. Nothing was damaged, Both teams were very professional and friendly.
