Found this restaurant while I was in the area so decided to check it out. It's a hole in the wall place in a strip mall. You order at the counter and the food is brought out to you. I ordered their beef lo mein and was not impressed with the taste nor the size of the dish. Wife had their Szechwan beef and was not impressed either. Unfortunately I probably won't go back.

Not what I was expecting. It's a very small restaurant with about 8 tables that seat mostly 2 people, with a few seating up to 4 people. It's definitely a no frills eat and go type of place. You order at the counter and the food is brought out when ready. We went around noon and there was one other customer dining in. I ordered their Szechuan beef lunch special which comes with soup or egg roll. I chose sweet and sour soup. The soup was ok, did not have much flavor so I added a ton of hot oil which helped. I thought the portion size of my lunch was on the smaller side but for $8.55 hard to complain and the vegetables were very fresh. Hubby ordered beef Lo Mein $11.55. I thought his portion size was small too. He said the beef tasted too soft which I had to agree. Service was fine. I think this restaurant would benefit from a makeover.

We're in the area and craving Chinese food, made a quick stop and so glad we did! The cashier was so kind and patient while we looked over their large menu. They have everything! Super authentic. There was a large family in there 10-12 people and they were comfortable, although it's a small family owned spot it was really accommodating. We were not a fan of the crab puffs they were really sweet which caught us off guard. But our meals were delicious! I don't even like pepper and the black pepper chicken was so so good! Loved the feel of feeling like I was in a families kitchen waiting for a home cooked meal. Definitely a must try if you are in the area!

This place had a high rating on a delivery app so I tried it. I ordered sweet and chicken that didn't look anything like the picture. No peppers, pineapple or onion and was tempura soggy fried. The fried rice was greasy with a lot of onions.

Every dish we've ever enjoyed has surpassed what was expected their dishes are always over flowing with fresh vegetables and meat with fantastic sauces too. We highly recommend this little gem tucked away in the Albertsons parking lot.

This was disgusting. I'm really not hard to please but this was awful. Hubby ordered Kung pao and it had zero flavor or should I say awful flavor. I ordered General Tso but it came with a long black hair. They offered a refund of order something else. I ordered the sweet and sour chicken. I couldn't eat it. So bland. Not like usual sweet and sour. The egg roll was good though. So not be coming back. Waste of money.

Not close to the house but met relatives nearby and they had heard good things about this place, in fact even the reviews are pretty good wow bad luck for us I suppose. Called in a to go order and was told 10 to 15 minutes. Not a problem got there 20 minutes later and the woman at the register was very nice, they didn't ask for a name for the order when I called which seemed odd and upon entering thank god we didn't eat there, definitely a hole in the wall (but they have the best food sometimes right?) has been my experience at least so I still had hope. No ambiance what so ever, no one there, one table still had dirty dishes on it and next to the soda fridge another tub filled with dirty dishes, employees were sitting around when I came in you'd think they would take care of clearing tables before anything. 5 minutes after my longest pickup estimate it became obvious that they were only half finished with our order or less , as I saw things quickly get tossed in the fryer and could hear frantic cooking. 10 minutes after we showed up our order was ready. The "chicken fire" rice their version of fried rice had a sauce on it yet no taste so It just sort of made it mushy, the chicken had absolutely no seasoning or taste just bland. Shrimp with vegetables ...the vegetables were good and the shrimp were plump but again no taste. Sweet and sour chicken good pieces of chicken but again not a lot of taste, probably the highlight aside from the broccoli. I finally added hot mustard so I could taste something! Very bland very basic and kind of a dirty establishment that day from what I saw. Maybe it was a bad day but I won't be back!

Great food.... 'Nuf said. But because I'm also required to meet a minimum charter count I'll add this: it's better than most places that claim to be authentic or even "fine dining". And speaking of dining, they aren't really setup for that part... it appears to me that their focus is on talks out. And that works well with me so as the Aussies say " No worries mate ". read more

I note at the time of this review this is a NEWLY OPENED restaurant and they might still be tweaking things. This is a small casual family friendly restaurant where you order at the counter, seat yourself and pick up your order when it's ready. The Specialty of the house are the Noodle Bowls where you have FIVE choices, then you decide on your vegetables, meat, and FIVE sauces to pick from. They also offer other items like a few appetizers, salads, rice bowls, bento boxes and FIVE signature dishes. Get ready to eat with either chop sticks or a small plastic SPORK. I ordered the Pad Thai Chicken with Hong Kong Noodles. The chicken in my dish was very good. It was moist and tender. I also liked that it was a combination of white and dark meat. The very thin but tasty Hong Kong Noodles where prepared well and the vegetables were fresh and crisp. I am not entirely sure that they gave me my bowl with the Pad Thai sauce because it didn't taste like Pad Thai at all and tasted more like spicy very SWEET and sour. It also lacked the peanuts it had in the description. The choices of sauces are Pad Thai with peanuts, Mongolian, Indian Curry and House. If mine was Pad Thai I recommend any other flavor instead. Unless you like spicy that's sweet like pancake syrup. My husband had the Steak Noodle Bowl with Chewy Shanghai Noodles and House Sauce that you can order Spicy. The house sauce was described as a kung pao kind of sauce. His meal WAS MUCH BETTER than mine because the sauce was much better. Wok Fire is located in the Shopping center that's surrounded by all the car dealers on Bell Road in Peoria. It's a family friendly kind of place and offers a few Children's Meals. Very typical store front Chinese restaurant. A few tables, but take out seemed to be key business. I was there on a Wednesday evening at 5:30 PM and place was not too busy. Food wise, it is a safe simple bet for americanized Chinese food. No real tries at making items traditional or extra seasoned. We will try again and encourage the chef to 'kick it up a notch' . Note I did find out when we ordered a noodle dish that we could choose the noodle type, we picked Chow fun (wider noodles). Nothing turned us off, but nothing wow'ed us. We will give it a second try. Seems family run and that is a plus for us. read more

Really great little place. Like a generic Panda Express but taste better. It's cool to see the family all working in the back to make this place run. They are living the American dream. I had a friend who was there with a party of about 8. One of the meals was served with a maggot on the plate. She showed the picture and it was disgusting and the others in her party could not eat theirs after seeing that. The manager only would take off the one meal. Last time I'm ever going there which is a shame as their food is,pretty good. Don't want to take a chance f having to dig through my food to see a moving maggot. read more

We picked up takeout from Wok Fire last night. We ordered orange chicken, mu shu pork and an egg roll. The chicken had just the right amount of breading and the sauce was good. I like that they add broccoli too. The portion and flavor of the mu shu was good as well. All the food was tasty, but the storefront isn't very clean, which is concerning. If they would just clean the windows in the front and clear the counter it would make a big difference. I will try it again because maybe it was because it was close to the end of the day. read more

Review is for service. Issue with Grubhub notifying us order was ready for pickup. When we arrived there was a lot of silent confusion about the order. Unfortunately had to ask a couple times to finally get an explanation after 5 min of watching them pass a phone back and forth. The order was then made rapidly, which we appreciated. Sadly I will not be returning to this restaurant. After myself and 3 family members ordered and ate food here Friday night, we all got food poisoning. It was 24-36 hours of vomiting, diarrhea and stomach upset and we even had to take a day off of work because of it. When we called the store the owner she said it wasn't them and didn't seem to care of our concerns and hung up. read more

Best Chinese food in Peoria, hands down! We were thrilled to find this place. MSG gives me massive migraines, and many of yhe Local Chinese food places use it. If they say they don't, my body will verify they do! But this place! So delicious! No MSG detected! And the restaurant runs a very clean, organized and quick order fulfillment. They did a brilliant job through Covid staying safe and Operational. I've lived in NYC, Seattle and traveled all over the world. I've eaten lots of different kinds of Chinese food and I'm grateful we found a delicious, authentic place whose food doesn't make me sick right in our neighborhood! This place was pretty underwhelming. Their food was pretty bland and nothing stood out with much flavor. Everything was just subpar. The people were nice and they had a lot of items on the menu but I can't really say the food was good. You can dine in or take your food to go. It doesn't take very long for them to make your food. Everything was nice and clean. I looks like they keep up with the cleaning which is really nice. The place was easy to find and there was a lot of parking. I liked the sign outside of the restaurant. The name really stood out from the other shops around. I am not sure how this place as an average of 4 stars. Looking at the more resent reviews it looks like others didn't particularly like the food here either. Next time I will make sure to read some of the latest reviews first before deciding on a new place based off of the overall rating. I would say everyone should skip this place and try something else. read more

The absolute worst Chinese food I've ever had. Hot mustard is in packets and not spicy at all. I returned all of my food and asked for a refund. After a bunch of whining from the cashier, she finally gave it to me. Never go here, Panda Express is much better and that isn't saying much! read more

This is another case of overblown Yelp reviews. I've given Wok Fire 3 chances because I am desperate to find a local decent Chinese restaurant. Besides the food being a disappointment I was sitting inside waiting for my food after ordering online and the restaurant was empty. I started to noticed how dirty the drink machine is and actually nothing looked clean...I can only imagine the filth in kitchen. I took 3 bites and $20 in the trash. read more

Great tasty Chinese to go! Nice family run business. Clean inside. Have tried a few things and the bbq pork is great (fried rice and with broccoli). They are not skimpy on the meat or the portions. Only slight negative is the veggies in some dishes could be cooked a little longer. Lunch specials are an amazing deal. Great little spot just a mile from arrowhead mall area. read more

Food was spot on with large portions!!! All fresh ingredients down to the garlic. Ordered through their website for delivery, which was probably the best I have ever seen and secure. They deliver up to a 5 mile radius and was earlier than the time stated!!! This will be our go to spot from now on. Very impressed!!! read more

We ordered through Eat24. I love that I can track the delivery time. Anyway, this was some mighty delicious food! It was flavorful and the packaging was so nice. We ordered the orange chicken and sesame chicken dinners. They both came with an egg roll and sweet &a sour sauce. We ordered some gyoza too since that's all our 4 year old eats and he devoured it. He then went on to eat the remaining of my sesame chicken. When my 4 yr old thinks it's delicious than it's delicious ! Great service, great food, definitely ordered through here again! read more

The service is quick and convenient for a pick up. People are constantly picking up orders. I've eaten there as well, it's a very clean place. I just rather order ahead and take it home with large portions. The people are very nice. I recommend this place for Chinese food.

Maybe they have other dishes that are good and I may not entirely give up but the egg foo young is a no go.
