Walnut Shrimp LunchWalnut
Rebekah D.

Lots of parking, and it's not too far from my house. A win is a win. Service was very friendly. There's not a whole lot of decor to the place, but it's calm and unassuming. If you need to hold a conversation with someone, the music isn't too loud preventing that. Music was a mix, they did have "Golden" in the mix and ngl, I had to force myself not to sing along. They have lunch specials, even on Sundays. It's a great way to try a lot of options for cheaper. The lunch menu comes with a generous size entree, 2 scoops of fried rice, egg drop soup, a veggie spring roll and a fried cream cheese wonton. I got a few items, and we had so much food it's still in the fridge. Walnut shrimp was crispy, sauce wasn't overly sweet, nice crunch from the candied walnuts. You get a good portion. The shrimp was not overcooked. Yum. 8/10 Shrimp with lobster sauce, it was a little salty for me but had a nice mix of veggies, and the sauce didn't have too much cornstarch, so it wasn't gelatinous like at some places. Nice flavors though. Nothing overpowering. 6/10 Beef Chow Fun -not on the lunch menu but I literally get it at every Chinese place that has it. The rice noodles were not overcooked, beef was seasoned well and tender, not chewy. 10/10 would get that again. Hot and sour soup was pretty good. I could stand for it to have more "sour" to it. The flavors were a bit mellow for me. I like a more aggressively flavored hot and sour soup. Not bad though. 6.5/10 Mongolian beef. Nice tender beef, well cooked and seasoned. Good beef to onion ratio. 8/10. Chicken with mushrooms-saucy, full of veggies with a mild brown sauce. They had zucchini in it, and I love zucchini and mushrooms together. There was a lot of chicken, and it was seasoned well, not too salty. Definitely tasty. 8/10. Would I be back? Probably. I'm glad I found this spot. I've driven by it plenty, it's one you don't want to miss though!

Very authentic Chinese food. It's located in a semi-empty strip mall but don't let the location dissuade you in trying this place. It has a few tables to sit and eat but most of their customers are takeout. I ordered at the counter and picked it up and ate there; no table service or wait staff. The food was very good and reasonably priced, and the restaurant looks very clean . Will definitely come back!

Mongolian Beef lunch special - $8.15! Better than panda and equal to PeiWei.

Got take out, got delayed by traffic. They were gracious enough to let me keep the lunch special price even though I was thirty minutes late. Yeah I just ordered from here two days ago and back. Mongolian Beef lunch special - $8.15! Better than panda and equal to PeiWei. Really like they're hot and sour soup. What you could substitute for from egg drop. The Mongolian beef was quite tasty.Service is you would expect for any take out. They did good by me.

If you are from the East Coast then finally you will have found Chinese food that you have been missing! Took me 11 years living here in AZ and finally found my fave Chinese spot! The fried rice and egg rolls are just like you remember. The staff was very friendly as well!

I love this place! Delicious food, huge portions, orange chicken is the go-to food. I've explored other dishes, but orange chicken is my favorite. The young gentlemen that work there are super nice, there is also a lady that always remembers me. The place is clean and you will see people eating there, they have some tables. It's a great place to check out.

I ordered a lot mein with beef and an orange chicken. Overall, pretty good. The orange chicken was a bit too sweet. Will come back again

Why dies my review need to be 85 characters? Food really good. DoorDash service sucks. Rude and uninformative and unhelpful

Quick service, but average food. A classic take-out Chinese place that's a step above chain restaurants.

After reviewing the menu we decided on Lemongrass chicken with vegetables, beef with vegetables, beef vermicelli, and shrimp vermicelli. Service is always fast here. I ordered the lemongrass chicken. It is pretty spicy. The flavoring was really nice with a fish sauce in it. It was probably spicier than I wanted. Think I'll go back to my noodle order next time. It was good to try something different though. I would give my dish four stars. Otherwise everything else gets five stars. Free street parking outside.

The restaurant seems to charge for every little thing and the staff is slow and forgetful. Having to get up so many times just to remind them about our order is simply not acceptable. I really hope things improve, especially for long time customers who have supported this place for years Ambience The ambience was very cute and charming. The space feels inviting and has a pleasant atmosphere. Food The food was good. We ordered the catfish spring rolls and they were delicious once everything finally made it to the table. Service The service was the biggest issue and it was very disappointing, especially since my family has been coming here for 3 years. Parts of our order were missing, including several side dishes and even the sauce for the spring rolls. We asked for a cup of ice and that was missing too. We waited about 10 minutes after receiving the catfish before the vegetables were brought out and we had to keep asking for simple items. It's a shame because things taste best when the food is still hot, but the catfish was already cold once they brought out all the small dishes that came with the main dish. Because the staff was moving so slowly, we ended up walking to the counter (6 times) just to follow up on things that should have been brought to us without asking. It honestly felt like we were serving ourselves. There should be no excuse why service was so slow because there's two waitress and only one other table. The Vietnamese coffee tasted sickly sweet and burnt. After taking one sip, I asked to switch to a Thai tea, hoping it would be better, but that drink was also extremely sickenly sweet. I returned it after one sip as well. I was surprised to see that I was charged for both drinks and was told it was because I drank them, which did not feel fair at all. They even charged us for the lemon slices.

My favorite Korean spots in Arizona since there weren't that many Korean spots in Glendale!…read moreHowever, they have some pretty authentic Korean dishes! Parking is pretty small so parking can be a little difficult when it gets busy! Service is decent and they are very friendly but could be more attentive. It is pretty spacious inside with plenty of indoor seating. However, it can get pretty loud when it is busy so it might be hard to hear one another They offer Korean BBQ but it isn't all you can eat, as well as Korean dishes (tofu soup, bulgogi, bibimbap, etc.), and sushi. There is even a lunch special menu Mon-Fri 11-2:30pm and has a good selection of bento boxes! I've gotten their beef teriyaki bento box and it came with rice, salad, 2 piece California rolls, and 2 pc fried gyozas. Pricing is $13-20 The beef teriyaki is pretty tender, flavorful, and not too salty. The salad is underwhelming and didn't have fresh greens. The fried gyozas were decent, nothing special. The California rolls were ok, not bad. I would say it's 7/10. The bibimbap was very fresh and delicious but a little pricey ($18.95). The bulgogi was marinated very well and rice was super crispy inside the hot stone bowl. Seafood tofu soup was pretty good and not too overly salty. It was very flavorful and the tofu was very soft. I would say it's 8/10 Would definitely recommend and return

This has been my favorite place to go to for dinner for a couple months, almost every weekend now!…read moreTheres tons of different ways you can personalize it! We still aren't tired of it! Thank you!

We came back for a second visit today because my kids and I really enjoyed our first experience…read more Unfortunately, this visit was completely different. Right from the start, the greeting wasn't very welcoming. After they asked for my children's ages and we told them, another employee came over, spoke to our waitress in their language while looking at my son (who is a big 10-year-old), and it immediately felt like they didn't believe us about his age. Our waitress continued asking questions while the other employee kept talking to her. She eventually addressed us directly and informed us that my son would be charged $25. We had no issue paying the price if that's their policy. We simply explained that during our first visit, each of the four of us was asked what broth we wanted and we were each served individual pots, so we were confused when told we had to share. Instead of clarifying the policy, we were told that wasn't true and that, because they've been open for five years, they would never have done that. At that point, I politely said never mind, and my family got up and left. What upset me most wasn't the pricing. We're more than willing to pay what we need to--we spent over $100 during our first visit. It was the way we were spoken to and the feeling that we were being questioned about our son's age. As my son said when we left, he no longer had an appetite. It's disappointing because we genuinely liked this place and were looking forward to coming back. I hope management works on customer service and how concerns are communicated, because the tone and treatment we received will keep us from returning to this location.
