My sister and I came for a late lunch on Saturday 2/15 and when we got there it wasn't too busy so we were greeted and sat at a table quickly. The staff there is amazing and the food OMG is even better! We ordered a few dishes to share and take home for lunch tomorrow (on purpose) I love honey walnut shrimp but I can't eat shrimp anymore so my sister saw they had honey walnut chicken! Holy smokes it tasted just like the shrimp dish! The owner I believe he was, came out and talked to us towards the end and was super nice and friendly! We will definitely be back!!!! read more

We were hungry and Wongs in close to home. We walked in and ordered and they were friendly and helped explain menu items. We ordered crab puffs, sautéed spicy chicken, shrimp with vegetables and house fried rice. For everything it was around $35. The food was prepared quickly and we were on our way. The shrimp with vegetables had nice big plump shrimp and plenty of vegetables. Some of the broccoli pieces tasted rancid but everything else was great. The sautéed spicy chicken wasn't anything special and we didn't really care for the house brown sauce. It wasn't even spicy. The house rice was good but wish there was more meat throughout. The rice was cooked well though. The crab puffs had good filling but were smaller than other places. I've not taken a lot of time to find a solid Chinese restaurant here in Arizona. My wife and I recently moved to Peoria and this establishment has popped up on my Yelp feed a few times. We ordered take out because that's how Chinese food should be eaten. First, the entire Grand Ave. x Peoria Ave. exchange is just bizarre and really missed up. Unfortunately, the restaurant sits kitty corner to Wendy's right on the corner. We walked in and the restaurant is very clean. We were greeted instantly and handed take out menus. I went with the Spicy Orange Chicken combo and my lovely bride went with the Sweet & Sour Chicken combo. In less than 10 minutes, our food was produced to us fresh and piping hot. Next, we got a ton of food. It's a solid combo guaranteed to put you in an Asian food coma. For my Spicy Orange Chicken combo, my main entrée came with a scoop of fried rice, a solitary piece of fried shrimp, a few pieces of sweet & sour chicken and an egg roll. That's a lot of food for $10 as far as I'm concerned. I liked that the orange chicken was spicy as it should be and not caramelized in a candy coating of orange syrup. The egg roll was delicious as was the piece of fried shrimp I was given. The few pieces of sweet & sour chicken I was given was also quite tender and flavorful. The only part of the combo I didn't care for was the fried rice. That's all it was... fried rice in some shoyu. No tiny morsels of pork or green onions or carrots or anything. I love fried rice, but it was bland and sort of lackluster. It was still a good experience and they made a great first impression on me. A solid 4-star contender, indeed! read more

My husband and I stopped in for a late lunch. We haven't been here in several years. Wong's Jr is still really good. We ordered off of the lunch menu. We ordered the egg flower soup as soup comes with the lunch special. My husband ordered the Schezwan pork with steamed white rice and I ordered the shrimp with snow peas and steamed white rice. We both had hot green teas as well. The food was hot, fresh and delicious. The pork was tender. The shrimp was in a thick creamy sauce. The vegetables were crisp. Every bite was like a party in my mouth--it all joined together in a flavorful mix of flavors. The restaurant is clean the restrooms are clean. The waiter and waitress were very prompt and attentive. They were friendly and they removed our dishes promptly. Parking is plentiful. We will definitely be returning in the future. read more

Second time ordering but this time I needed food last min and they were open, I was that asshole that ordered at @8:47pm but they close at 9:30pm but still the veggie rolls are okay and filled with so much pepper and no utensils of napkins were added to my to go order but he did come super quick which was a plus but still... how am I going to eat my food with nothing... just ask for that & maybe ask them to change the veggie rolls to spring rolls ASAP with rice. I'm back today is December 10th and this time I walked here and didn't get it delivered, I had the fired shrimp and I had the vegetable tofu soup w/ mushrooms, broccoli, tofu, carrots , celery, zucchini, and I haven't tasted it yet. Kind of average Today, we wanted Chinense foid for lunch, so we decided to visit Wong's Jr for some take.out.. This restraunt , offers a great lunch menu, which includes soup and fried rice. On this vist we had the lemon chicken and bbq pork fried rice. The food was fresh, hot, and good however, nothing really stood out, the food was just kind of average, it wasn't bad just not great. THE FOOD WAS TERRIBLE. The "hot chicken wings" were horrible. They tasted extremely old - as if they were cooked several weeks ago, then, on the day that I placed my order, hot sauce was heated & freshly poured over them so that they could live up to the menu name! He bragged about how amazing the place is and how people come far and wide. It wasn't amazing, but the atmosphere was friendly and I wasn't sure I'd be back. My second trip... (I LOVE Chinese food and wanted to give it another shot) I got the pepper steak without spice. The sauce was tangy and very bland. I hoped for a little sweet. Once again, the owner, person in charge as friendly with the patrons. (There was a couple who'd apparently been dozens of times.) He was bragging about how amazing the food was and how they'd come back for that. There were even a few people who came in from a distance to get food. (One came from Avondale). Honestly... I don't understand this. The food is subpar for Chinese and the owner seems to be over chatty and loves to brag. With this visit he was in a super rush for me to leave (He was not my original wait staff, but brought me my receipt about 35 mins in, when there was a lot of food on my plate.) The place was empty after that first couple left. He asked me twice if I wanted a refill. (I needed to be there 45 mins... so this was about 40 mins in...) I felt rushed. If you are eating in there isn't much to get excited about besides the plasma TV on the back wall with ESPN news constantly running with no volume. There is also no music or other background music, to me it felt a little weird, like I was eating at the library. The food is very tasty. Their chicken is all white meat which is very rare for an Asian food establishment, especially when they aren't charging extra for it. The spiciness can be adjusted to taste, from warm to sweat pouring into my eyes hot. Lunch specials are filling with rice, entree, egg roll, and crab puff. Dinner portions are sized up and again, very filling. Several vegetarian and health aware items on the menu. They deliver to a pretty large area, and staff are friendly. He didn't believe her because She called the next day, my wife went to eat what was leftover from the previous nights food and found it. Recently we've noticed a change in the taste of their food; bland, just not consistent any longer.
