I have given SO MUCH BUSINESS TO THIS PLACE! However their customer service is absolute TRASH!!! I recently went to have dinner with my 70 year old mother, my 8 year old son and my husband. We walked into a COMPLETELY EMPTY restaurant. There was a man folding napkins and he said "sit anywhere!" Ooookay, so we sat at a booth, the RUDE waitress comes over to take our orders, "what you wanna order!?" Super aggressive! We order our usual. During that time I realized that it would be easier to eat at a round table so we could use the lazy Susan in the middle to easily reach our food. So we got up and we're going to move when the man who was folding napkins said "no! Wait for your waitress!" Waitress comes back and literally YELLED at us! Saying, "no!!! Sit at the booth!!" I tried explaining that the table would be too small and she continued to yell at me. I was on the verge of tears and didn't understand why she was so upset. Since we did not eat or drink anything, my husband said "let's go!" So we excused ourselves and left. The man folding napkins stood up and ran to the exit and started recording us. Not only was I scared, but my son started crying and my 70 year old mother began wheezing and breathing fast... they literally ran out of the restaurant as we were getting into our car and kept yelling & recording! I used to order $150-200 food EVERY MONTH!!! However we ALWAYS did pick up. Had I known how TERRIBLE THEIR SERVICE IS, I would neeeeeever have contributed to them!!! My husband, his parents and I met for dinner Monday evening. My father in law discovered this restaurant in his quest to find a restaurant close to where we live. It of course has good ratings. Our order consisted of pork egg foo young, beef with snow peas, lemon chicken and walnut shrimp. The orders came with white rice. I ordered ice tea, my husband and father in law ordered beer. We shared our entrees. They were delicious, the meat tender, the sauce tasty and the vegetables delicious. Our service was excellent. At the end of our meal, our waitress boxed our leftovers for us. I have been coming here for about 25 years now. I have never had a bad experience. Food is always delicious and the service is second to none. Stay in or take out, doesn't matter.... It's always a great meal. I love to come in with a large group of people who have never been. They are always so surprised by the all around quality. The rice is undercooked and the people don't care, when you go up to pay the person at the register looks at you like your dumb. Then asks "who's paying". The people that run this place speak broken English if any...the beef tastes off. I'm not sure how this place has 4 stars as of this review. That's why we went here - good rating and on my way to where we were going. Unfortunately, it really just wasn't good. We ordered takeout, and it was ready on time. That's about the only good thing I can say about this place. More on that later, however an even bigger problem: As I was leaving, I witnessed this business willfully, blatantly, and irresponsibly violate county, state, and federal health codes for food establishments. This restaurant does not seem to care at all about the health and safety of their customers, nor the cleanliness of their establishment. All of the employees need to be retrained on health codes and food handler protocol. After witnessing the health code violation, I almost didn't want to eat the food - but the employee that I paid at the counter had gone back into the kitchen and didn't come back out for me to request a refund. I was hungry, so I left. After getting to where I was going, we opened our food - and it looked okay, but after tasting, it was just not good. The egg rolls were fried properly, but extremely bland and tasteless. The "orange-flavored" chicken was just that - flavored, not true orange chicken. No kick, no veggies, just junky chicken. The kung pao chicken had no spice at all, and had celery in it? At least the zucchini was firm and not soggy (another odd choice, but it was fine at least). I was hoping this hole-in-the-wall would be a gift from heaven, but sadly, it's pretty average food. A few pros: This place is well kept and very clean. The staff are constantly cleaning. Limited menu of everyone's favorites for lunch at under $10. This allows the kitchen and staff to crank out fresh and hot food quickly. I waited only a few minutes before a big portion of mongolian beef, egg drop soup, eggroll, and fried rice was placed in front of me! As already mentioned: huge portions! Go careful on that hot mustard b/c it's the REAL DEAL! A few downsides: Not a lot of flavor. Next time I would ask for spicy. The eggrolls are those heavy, thick-skinned ones which aren't my favorite, but maybe you like them? I guess not a lot of downsides. All in all I would return but probably for take-out and not the lunch portion b/c I just wasn't a fan of the soup and eggrolls. Next time I'll try dumplings and a few different entrees. read more

It's getting harder & harder to find a Thai restaurant that is consistently good. Today, I found the Big Heng Restaurant. The location isn't attractive from the outside, but the food was oh so good. I ordered the Kung Pao Chicken, and it literally arrived in about three minutes. And, as a rice lover, I was so happy to the " My Cup runnith over" cup of rice. It was another half serving, which was the perfect amount! Since it arrived so fast, and being a skeptic, I figured it would have that gas station, cooked all day + taste. But wait, I was wrong... it was really good! The veggies were crisp, the chicken was tender, and the service was spot on fast! In the end, it was a very good meal at a reasonable price. Totally meh. Was on my way home and had a craving for some BBQ Pork fried rice, so I pulled in. Fast service. Go home and dug in. The rice is...okay. Kind of dry, but okay flavor. Not too greasy, but also not greasy enough. The pork had a nice flavor, but it was kind of tough. The peas and carrots were hard and basically uncooked. I ordered the crab puffs and the kung pao chicken, spicy level. My food was ready shortly and I took it home. The puffs were plentiful and on the sweeter side, but they paired nicely with the sweet and sour sauce and they were cooked well. Reheated nicely, too. My entree was a large portion and made for two meals. It also came with plenty of sauces. The only one I used was the spicy chili because my dish was not spicy at all. Great food. We've ordered take out several times and eaten there twice now. Food is consistently good and service is prompt. Prices are ok. But like other Chinese places in the area can get pricey if each person has their own entree and appetizer. The food comes out quickly, regardless of how busy they are at the time. They offer several lunch specials in addition to full-sized entrees. I usually get their egg rolls since I think they are the best in the area and the MaPo Tofu. They don't make it hot enough for me (I think they dumb it down for western pallets) but I solve that by getting a side of their hot chili chuo sauce which is homemade and very tasty. The place is a medium sized l-shaped room with multiple tables and booths. The decor is nothing special. Give Big Heng a try. They are at 75th ave and Peoria in a strip mall on the NW side of the intersection. read more

the food have a biiiig portion. mostly asian restaurants that i know offers only 1 cup of rice but this restaurant have 2 cup of rice. they also have some lunch specials and dinner combinations. we ordered vegetable lo mein and vegetables are really in there, they have broccoli, snap peas, mushrooms and bell papers. you get what you pay in here but more. The service was fast as well, and when you order a lot they will put it on the box instead of a bag (smart) for take outs. the ambiance is a typical chinese restaurant you will see in a movies.
