We worked with Roi for our full upstairs remodel. From the beginning he has been very responsive and attentive. There were a few small hiccups in the beginning and we didn't pass our initial inspection. This was more of the fault of the inspector being a butthole than the fault of Roi or the workers. He worked very hard after the initial failure to make sure there were no more chances for the inspectors to fail us and the project sped up and went very smoothly from that point on. Delays and mistakes happen in renovations. They are almost unavoidable but the recovery from those issues really show the character of the project manager and the company. Could not be more pleased. My wife and I are just wrapping up a complete master bath remodel with Wise Builders and the level of professionalism, knowledge, competence and communication was miles above what we got from the contractor that we originally selected for the project. We wish we had started the project with Wise Builders but that's another story. The Project Manager, Nathan G., spent a lot of time asking questions in our initial meeting. He took lots of notes and the result was a very detailed estimate that we felt truly outlined our vision for the finished bathroom. We were also impressed by Nathan's awareness of San Jose inspectors' availability and how the project would progress based on inspection dates. The time from when Wise Builders took over the project to completion was pretty fast, will be about 40 days. But this included some down time waiting for code inspections, which we had been made aware of at the beginning. Nathan stopped by frequently to check on the project and make sure things were progressing the way we wanted. The two-man crew (Mauro & Juan) were also outstanding. They clarified all aspects with us with effective, to-the-point communication. And their craftsmanship really adds so much to the final results. We especially love the way the tilework came out. I used Wise builders to renovate my laundry room. Work Included removing old washer and dryer, removing old water heater and softener, new plumbing, new light fixtures, paint, tile, you make it. They took care of everything. Remodeling a home can be a really daunting task; even a relatively new home. Which is why I lost a few night's sleep in anticipation of remodeling our Kitchen and 3 Bathrooms (Guest, Jack & Jack, and Master) last May when we started on this journey. But that was then... and this is now. After around 4 months of designs & demolitions, purchasing & planning, coordinating, construction & completions... we unveiled and are now enjoying a masterpiece! And Wise Builders, led by Adam Strikowski and crews helped orchestrate the whole beautiful symphony of form, function and perfection. My Love and I wrote the sheet music... but Wise Builders performed it beautifully! The first phase of remodeling was envisioned and completed two years ago... to great success. The home has been completely re-formatted from a dull 1990s (white woods and marble) look. The first phase was done to great success. Then the challenge... we needed to finish the rest. And it needed to be as good as the first phase. And that proof has been the applause we've received from friends and family who have seen the final results... Even every contractor who participated along the way. I bought this home 4 years ago, after I just saw the backyard alone. Seriously. The previous owners put a veritable fortune in time and money to the outside of this home. And as the inside had the required amount of rooms and space, I told my realtor on the spot, "I want this." I was serious. It's not that there was anything wrong with the inside of the home -- but it was SO 1996. It needed a facelift. Two years ago, we upped the "wow factor" several degrees, when we ripped up all the flooring, main stairway, rails, and banisters, several fixtures, complete interior paint job... and replaced it all with amazing wood floors, a Porcelanosa kitchen floor, and incredibly artistic fixtures. We were halfway home. Our style is Restoration Hardware meets Transitional meets Industrial. Truly a CLASSIC look that never gets old. We met with a couple other general contractors, but no one seemed to really "get it". They were run-of-the-mill (yawwn), typical, local journeymen. Nothing wrong with that. They may have done an adequate job. But we were looking for more than just functional. We wanted Function AND Form. That's where Wise Builders fit in. Already feeling a little let-down by the visits from other contractors, who seemed confident enough to handle a set of tools, an associate recommended one more group she just had a great experience with. So we figured, why not. Enter Adam Strikowski and Wise Builders. We met Adam one evening at our home around dinner time. Unlike every other technician or craftsman you meet today, Adam entered our home with a clean uniform (OK, it was a clean, company polo shirt with logo; and a matching hat) and an equally sunshiny personality. But the real kind of sunshine and confidence... not the used car salesman type. We sat at the kitchen table and Adam actively listened to our vision for a full 10 minutes, before he chimed in. He showed genuine interest in what we had to say; and then replied in kind with great suggestions, professional, AND creative responses. It was like meeting with a Designer, Architect, Builder, AND Shopper all rolled into one personality! And we had that VERY same hybrid personality throughout the ENTIRE remodel process. By the end of the conversation (about an hour), we were so excited and comfortable with Adam, we invited him to join us for dinner. And he did! Before the work was complete months later, we were referring to Adam as family. And each individual we worked with from Wise Builders was just as trustworthy and loyal, so much so, that even during the most stressful parts of demolition and construction -- we fully entrusted our home to them. I'm not saying it was easy. Remodeling a kitchen and 3 bathrooms is a pretty big task. A pretty big mess sometimes. But that's why you DO go with a more professional company, and qualified individuals. I'm not going to get too specific about the economics of the job. It's my HOME. If I was looking for the cheapest route, I would have hired a couple journeymen and made the mistake of trying to act as General Contractor myself. But, if you personally need surgery... do you just look for the cheapest way to get the job done!? So, WHY would you ever do that to the closest extension of yourself... your Home!? I didn't need to compare dollars. I was looking for efficiency, style, professional, turn-key performance! Wise Builders accomplished that. And Adam accompanied us and this remodel EVERY STEP of the way. He SHOPPED with us for EVERY detail... from faucets to fixtures to paint colors, cabinets and tiles. If you are looking to do a remodeling project, Wise Builders removes the guess work. Bruce Lee said he doesn't fear the man who has practiced 1000 different kicks, but the man who has practiced one kick 1000 times. I might have been able to eventually plan a remodel on my own, but our project manager, Joseph, does remodels all day. I never had to worry about what was happening or what was needed. Joseph managed permitting, finding a foreman, and keeping everything moving on schedule. It was a huge relief to know that Joseph would work with the contractors and the vendors, like when a shower head was missing, but then replaced within a couple days. Could you do this kind of planning by yourself? Sure, but you wouldn't have near the level of confidence or tight timelines that we got from Wise Builders. I highly recommend! Since moving into our home 2 years ago, the one major thing we wanted change was to open up the kitchen. We recently completed a kitchen remodel with Kolby and it was an amazing experience from start to finish. He is the kind of person you want to work with. Super responsive and flexible. When you ask for details or advise, he is always happy to answer but never bores you with technical details. We had to postpone the construction due to COVID and work from home situation and he was very understanding and flexible. When we rented another place to stay, they immediately started the work next day and every day of the week, there were people working at home from 7am till 5-6 pm which resulted in completing the project way ahead of schedule. In another occasion, we noticed a problem right after removing cabinets where there was an unexpected AC fan house. Kolby came up with a creative solution to move it which avoided any re-planning for cabinets and kept the extra space in the kitchen that we very much needed. We are near the final stages of our remodel and are very happy with the results thus far. Will make an update to the review once we are fully completed, but here is my experience to date: We initially contacted Wise Builders to get a bid on a full gut and upgrade to our 3 bathrooms, entry way, laundry room, wet bar, recessed lighting throughout and few other smaller projects. An appt was set up very promptly and we met with Adam the project manager to go over the details. Out of the 3 other contractors we talked to we felt the most comfortable with Adam and his work ethic/ style and overall Wise Builder brand. Adam even went so far as to bring in his structural engineer to evaluate a wall we wanted to take down before even making a bid knowing that we could have easily gone with someone else. After deciding to move forward with Adam and his team, he was very responsive and proactive in his communication and project plan. He helped us with design choices and came with us to pick materials as well as suggest layouts for our fully gutted bathrooms. Even when he was on vacation half way around the world he called me to make sure things were good and that we were moving along as scheduled. That's what I call dedication to his work. As work commenced, Jesus R was our foreman and led a team of dedicated guys from demo to rough ins to finishes. I can't say enough about these guys and their hard work to get things done. They work diligently and stay late to finish things up as needed. I still remember the tiling guy Manny staying well past 8pm to finish up tiling of one of our showers. As with any remodeling project we're bound to run into some hiccups but Adam and Wise Builders have minimized much of it and kept things relatively smooth. We recently purchased a 1950's home and needed a kitchen remodel. This is our first big renovation project and had no idea what to expect. Factors that were important to us with renovating were costs and whether the job would be done right. If you want to work with contractors who are responsive, considerate, and professional. I speak from experience knowing that costs, having a trusting relationship with your contractor to do the job right and communication is crucial in having a stress-free renovation. Our first encounter with Amit and Nathan at Wise Builders caught our attention with their straight forward approach of workflow, budget, timeline, having designated workers and dedicated project manager from start to finish. They also assured us that if we weren't satisfied with a project manager or worker, that they had a huge team to re-assign us with. But thankfully that was not an issue for us with Amit being our main point of contact. Amit understood how much our hands we're tied with a newborn and we fully entrusted his expertise to take matter into his own hands. When there were unforeseen problems due to the conditions of our home, he took the initiative to problem solve and find solutions. He really took care of us and went the extra mile to send runners to pick up supplies upon request so we did not have stress about the little things, helped us fix other stuff around the house and allowed us to focus more on the fun stuff such as choosing and designing the details of our kitchen. Overall, our new kitchen was completed in a timely manner and is everything we imagined it would and more. Amit was conscientious with our budget, negotiating every line item down with each subcontractor, was on the job site periodically and kept us fully updated on the progress. "A piece of art" is how we describe our bathroom remodel . Our beautiful remodel was completed on time and the process went very smoothly. Michael Gupol, our amazing project manager along with Mauro and Manuel, the two main construction members for our project helped my husband and I create a beautiful masterpiece! Before the remodel started, Michael met us at the tile and plumbing stores to assist us with our selections and was always available to answer questions. Once the project began, he managed the permit and the 3 required city inspections beautifully ( all passed without any issues), he communicated with us regularly via phone and text and came to our home frequently to answer any questions and share the plan of work for the day and week. Mauro and Manuel always arrived on time and were very respectful, professional and their workmanship was outstanding. We were extremely impressed with their quality of work and attention to detail, especially during the water proofing process and tile installation .
