Our experience with Wise Builders was excellent - with the Project Manager providing us with daily updates, concise communication and many onsite visits - with a sense of humor and keeping the remodel of our bathroom on schedule. A thank you to the very special craftsmen who were also top drawer with their abilities and talents from the beginning to the end of our project - efficient and effective in gutting the old bathroom, installing of the barn sliding glass door, tub, vanity, countertop, toilet, tile, window, ceiling heating fan, plumbing and electrical - with attention to detail. This transformation to our main bathroom is absolutely stunning. Thank you to everyone at Wise Builders! Luv ya!

Old Fireplace/Media Niche

Overall rating is a 4.5 Project Scope: Full downstairs remodel. Kitchen, bath, media niche, fireplace, paint and flooring. Vendors: Artistic Kitchen (Mike Ryan), HomeWise (Janelle), Bedrosians (Jenny), Rubenstein Supply Wise team: The 3 A's: Aaron, Alex and Allen. Israel was our day to day supervisor. Estimated Time: 3.5-4.5 months. Wise met this timeline. Positives: Demo: Quick and efficient. They had the place cleared out in 2 days. Prior to demo, their team helped us move our large pieces of furniture into our storage pod. I consider this above and beyond helpful. Flexible: As they started the prep for electrical and plumbing, we made changes and add-on's. For any unforeseen issues, they were responsive. Media niche: The team built out the area exactly to my husband's design. The owner dropped by to view the project and gave us an idea on how to build out the space for our TV mount. We are happy with the result. Fire place: The stone ledger was installed by Oliver per the design. The final product is gorgeous. Kudos to Oliver! Bathroom: Although small, the demo process was challenging as we have a concrete subfloor. It felt like they were grinding for days to prep for the shower. Once we selected our tile, their installer (Jesus) helped us with the layout and it came out beautifully. Kitchen: The prep work for the cabinet install, plumbing and electrical was completed in a timely manner. Wise's cabinet installer, David guided the team through the install process. David is meticulous and skillful at his craft. Allen: This was my first large remodel project and I wanted to have a designer to help guide me through the process. Allen came out to meet us and learn about our style choices and helped us with the challenging process of picking a lot of materials. He kept a spreadsheet which we could update ourselves. I had inspiration photos and he collaborated with us to bring it all together. Allen's design drawings gave us true picture of the final product. So much so that we ended up changing our bathroom tile because we didn't like how it looked in the drawings. Allen was patient, helpful, responsive and has a keen eye for design. Areas for Improvement: Communication, Attention to detail, Slowing down. These things came up throughout the project and mostly corrected to our satisfaction. I will list a couple of examples: Flooring installation: We were considering having our floor vendor do the installation but the savings in our Wise bid was not that much and Aaron assured us that his team was experienced with installing engineered hardwood. We asked the team to pick the planks with the least blemishes and lay them in the open areas while the others could be installed under the cabinets or closets. I don't know if there was a language barrier during communication but my husband ended closely watching the team and picking out the planks himself. This took a fair amount of his time and shouldn't have. We also noticed in the front entryway that some of the planks squeaked and flexed. We could not accept this because it was in a high traffic area. The solution they came up with was to drill small holes and inject enough glue so that the planks would not flex. We were nervous about this but figured it would be better than tearing up a portion of the floor and reinstall them. Thankfully, it worked and there is only a tiny hole which is not noticeable. The ovens needed to be wired for 240V but was wired to 120V. This was clear in the oven's instruction manual. It was corrected. We purchased very expensive outlets for our kitchen island and requested that they be installed flush to the panels. My husband even sent a PDF with instructions in WhatsApp to be communicated to the team. Either it never made it to the team, or they didn't follow instructions. We couldn't redo them because the damage to the panels was not acceptable to us. A couple of cabinet doors had the wrong size hole drilled for the handles. I did map out each door with specific handle size. They corrected this at no cost to us. I created a final TODO/correction list after final inspection and they completed everything to our satisfaction. Overall I am excited with the final results, especially with my kitchen. The Wise team were cooperative, courteous and professional. See my before/after pics.

Example of cracks they tried to tell me were veining in the marble

I don't ever write negative reviews, and it has taken me over 7 years to finally write this one, but that is how strongly I feel about my experience. We hired Wise Builders to redo our two bathrooms after meeting with them and really liking their project managers and the ideas they provided to add to what we already had in mind. The project itself was going so well that we asked them to redo our popcorn ceilings in addition. To be clear, this is not an accusation but a stating of facts: We had to leave the house overnight for this part of the project. In the hustle of that I forgot my wedding ring sitting in the shower and when we returned my wedding ring was no longer there. The workers were in the only people in our house during that time as witnessed by our exterior security cameras. I have not found it since, and yes, I am aware that I should not have forgotten it but it also should not have disappeared. Shortly after the project was finished we noticed substantial cracking in the tile. When I brought it up I was told that was normal veining in the stone but once I was able to provide proof that the cracks were growing larger and were actually cracks, the company agreed to come and redo the shower at their cost which I really appreciated and felt relieved that they would make it right. While redoing it, they discovered it had indeed been installed wrong the first time. I wasn't entirely pleased with the quality of work on the redone shower but at that point I didn't want to make them redo anything yet again and I let it go. My bathroom sink also started cracking almost immediately and the company told me I must have dropped something but I know we did not. The crack continues to grow and I will have to have the sink replaced. In the years since then we continue to have issues in the shower with cracking of tiles and grout, grout falling out, and uneven tiles. At some point I will need to have it redone yet again but definitely by another company. I am grateful that we had insurance to cover the cost of my wedding ring but the fact that it went missing during this time is still very upsetting to me. I wanted to note my experience because I know we hired Wise Builders based on their glowing reviews and since then have heard of other people having issues who told me they wished they knew my experience before hiring them. We continue to have ongoing issues with cracks in the shower which is what led me to finally write a review. I'm including current photos as well.

new kitchen

We spent almost six years dreaming about remodeling our kitchen, and this year, we hired Wise Builders to handle it. We could not have been happier! The remodel included (among other things): taking the kitchen down to the studs/subfloor to check for damage, the removal of walls, the building of a pantry and additional storage closet between the kitchen and entryway, the replacement of a window, installation of new cabinets, countertops, flooring, fixtures, and lighting, the replacement of a standard water heater with a tankless water heater and water softener, and the installation of tile on a fireplace (dining room). They did this all while we continued to live in our house, and it was a good experience. They were courteous and kept dust in the rest of the house to a minimum. Michael G. (the project manager) as great to work with. We interviewed four companies, but Michael won the bid. From the beginning, I knew that I was in good hands, and he guided us through every decision and unexpected circumstance. His foremen (Carlos and Juan) and their team (including Roberto and Kevin) worked really hard to make our vision a reality. Shout out to Michele as well, who designed the cabinet layout. We would definitely hire Wise again, and I'd recommend working with Wise (and especially Michael) to anyone.

After a positive experience renovating a couple bathrooms and a laundry room with Wise, we decided to go for a kitchen remodel shortly after. It was incredibly helpful having the same team collaborate with us on this next phase. Aaron and Alex continued the project management and Antonio was onsite with the working crew. They understood our preferences and it was easy to communicate with everyone. Any house project, big or small, can be stressful, but Wise did an excellent job ensuring everything progressed smoothly. Some notable callouts for their work and operations: -Aaron and Alex were always accessible and addressed any of our concerns in a timely manner -The crews showed up on time each day and maintained a clean working space -Wise and the team were transparent with timelines and next steps as we progressed -Any adjustments or pivots in the scope of work were managed professionally to ensure our comfort and agreement I look forward to working with them on our next project.

Our bathroom was outdated, and the narrow tub no longer worked for us. We decided on a full remodel and wanted to replace the tub with a walk-in shower. From the very beginning, our project manager, Michele, guided us through every stage of the process, including planning, measurements, and tile and fixture selection. Having someone so experienced made the entire remodel feel straightforward and stress-free. Michelle was truly a pleasure to work with! Michele and the team were able to adapt to some unexpected architectural problems we encountered with our old house. They were able to keep the project on schedule and avoided any major budget changes. The crew was professional and respectful of our home throughout the process, and all work was completed to code and passed inspection without issue. The finished bathroom looks incredible, and we couldn't be happier with the result. We would absolutely recommend Wise Builders to anyone considering a remodel.

We brought on Wise to remodel two bathrooms and a laundry room. After hearing horror stories of remodels gone wrong, we were very careful about who we chose and Wise delivered. Highlights of working with Aaron, Alex and Antonio: - The three of them and the crew were always on-time and always showed up. They worked 6 days a week minus holidays. We started mid October and wrapped up right after Christmas. - Very detailed and thorough work, never cut corners - Always kept us informed and in the loop on what was going on at any given time - If we ran into any issues they brought it up to us immediately - They go above and beyond to make sure we were happy with everything from covering parts of the house they would need access to since we were still living in the house, to cleaning up afterwards. The photos speak for themselves. We enjoyed our experience with Wise so much we hired them for our kitchen reno too!

They aren't the cheapest out there, but once you see the work they do, it's almost a bargain. I did my research and wanted to find something in the middle- quality without excess. I found these guys. My project manager, Elijah was a total professional and also happens to be a real nice human being. His crew is even better (sorry, Eli). They listened and wanted my input. I grew to trust them quickly and started asking for their opinions about various things along the way to help me decide what to do. As stressful at it is to have people in your house everyday making lots of noise for weeks, I'm actually going to miss these guys. I will definitely hire them in future. I already have new projects in mind, and once the money is there, I'll pick up the phone and get to see my new friends again.

We contracted Prime Design & Build to remodel two bathrooms, a laundry room, a staircase, and to…read moreinstall hardwood flooring. Overall, the project went well, and we're happy with the final results. Bryan, our foreman, was a strong asset to the project. Even though he was managing multiple jobs at the same time, his responsiveness and willingness to go out of his way to address our concerns made a big difference. Because we were home throughout the process, we were able to catch issues early and communicate them directly to Bryan, who consistently followed through to resolve them. What Went Well: * The tile and flooring subcontractors were excellent - their craftsmanship and attention to detail truly stood out. * Bryan, our foreman, was responsive to texts and phone calls, listened to our concerns, and made sure they were addressed. He even designed a bi-fold closet door for us, and helped pick up all the material to build it. * Bryan also took the initiative to handle several unfinished items himself, which we really appreciated. * The post-build cleaners were top-notch and left the space in pristine condition. * Throughout the project, everyone we interacted with was professional, courteous, and conscientious. There were no conflicts or issues, which made the experience comfortable for us. Areas for Improvement: * The timeline was a pain point. While we were originally told the project would take 6-8 weeks, it ended up stretching to 12 weeks. * The design process fell short of expectations. Because Prime's in-house designers weren't available, our design work was outsourced. We only received a full design package for the master bathroom. As a result, we ended up creating our own renderings for the other rooms to help communicate our vision to the team. That said, we were very happy with the design and material selections for the master bathroom they did complete. We just wish the same level of attention and design support had been provided for the rest of the project. * At times, resource availability was limited, likely due to workers being assigned to multiple jobs. This led to workflow inefficiencies and delays. Toward the end of our renovation, our foreman Bryan had to personally step in to complete several tasks, such as installing faucets, shelving, and baseboards. He managed to get it done in between site visits and meetings, which we appreciated, but it also highlighted a lack of available crew to close out the project. Despite these few challenges, the quality of the work met our expectations. We appreciated the team's effort and the final outcome.

The timelines did extend significantly beyond the original estimates, and I had to stay on top of the subcontractors to ensure the craftsmanship met my standards. It wasn't a hands-off experience, but because he is such an honest person to deal with and his pricing is so competitive, we got both projects to the finish line. A strong pick for those on a budget who don't mind being involved in the details. After working with many contractors in the Bay Area, I've found that the alternative is usually someone charging much more who promises a turnkey experience but can't guarantee it either. Knowing that tradeoff, I would hire Jay again - and already have.

The communication, timeliness, and finish quality was just not there with our project…read more I'm not sure if this is because of a deficiency in project management, or because of the poor contracting. From the beginning, we were never given a good sense of timeline and when parts of the project were to be completed. Contractors would not show up on days when we were told they would come, and they would randomly show up on days where we were not given any warning and we had to be at work. The contractors that came to spray texture on the walls showed up at 7pm on a Friday night. We felt bad they had traveled so far and so late, but amazed that nobody had thought to communicate their arrival to us. Because the contractors would show up at random times and complete random parts of the project, we were always being forced to rush order parts that we didn't have on hand. This included a dishwasher air gap, a garbage disposal, and the cabinet handles. As professionals, why wouldn't they have a list of required finishes for all their customers? There were also just other instances of poor management. They miscalculated how much slab we needed, so they charged us extra for that as well. The handles on the cabinets were badly misaligned, and looked like nobody had measured the distances to the edges of the cabinets. We had to ask for this to be fixed. There was a missing finished edge on the cabinet end by the dishwasher, which we also had to ask to be fixed. We had to ask for so many basic things like having our window screen reinstalled and the window lock reattached 2 weeks AFTER the final inspection passed. If the final inspection is done already, there's no more excuses for delays in finishing a project. There was no final walkthrough once everything was done. We just noticed that one of the cabinet faces has a huge scratched up area where it looks like someone colored it in with a crayon. Shouldn't this sort of damage be disclosed to your customer without us having to scrutinize? In conclusion, if you look at the work from a distance, it's up to code and done fine. The whole experience has been so dragged out, however, that at this point we can't even be bothered with calling out the weird crayon thing.

First, when he visited a couple of different Lowes stores to find the specific wood we wanted for flooring and brought it to the site. After the job was complete, he fixed the garbage disposal which had a screw badly latched in. He needed to disassemble the garbage disposal to pull it out, and from looking at the screw, it was clear it wasn't one they had used. I will be reaching out to Gadir for future remodelling jobs.

We discussed ideas thoroughly and agreed on a very reasonable price. The results were absolutely fantastic. They transformed my bathroom into a luxurious space with beautiful marble finishes, a sleek hidden drain design in the shower area, and a stunning double vanity that ties it all together. I've attached photos so you can see the amazing work they did. Even mid-project, when I had a couple of tweaks I wanted to make, they were quick to adjust and made sure everything matched my vision perfectly. I usually stick with remodelers I've used before, but I'm so glad I gave JH Remodeling a chance. They truly delivered beyond my expectations. Highly recommend them to anyone looking to remodel their home!

We hired B&B to renovate our master bathroom. After the installation we noticed there was leaking…read morefrom the shower curb to the rest of the bathroom. We also noticed heavy deterioration of shower grouting and tiles. Upon further inspection we learned that the curb was improperly installed, both in its waterproofing and its slope. B&B initially said they would fix it, but they have now ghosted us and are not scheduling a fix. Additionally there was a leaking during installation which caused water damage in our first floor kitchen. Would not recommend unless you want to deal with months of repairing a faulty bathroom and little to no customer service.
