I think the country wings are probably the best I've had in the city thus far. I also really like the smoked though they can seem a bit dry if you get alot of them. I'm torn on whether I like the mango habanero sauce better at Pluckers and the hot sauces are on par for most places. The wings are really really really really freaking good.. full of flavor.. The fries are have a great crispy bite and they are cooked really well. Cool atmosphere.. My only complaint is the service sucked so so so bad.. My server in particular took 15 mind to order our food. She never asked if we needed anything. She forgot part of our order and Told us and other tables "just give me a min" "just give me a min" the table next to us waited 20 mind for there bill. This is the first time I never tipped someone.. I won't be back. We went in search of great smoked wings and I ended up with something 'fowl'. I had the Buffalo Ranch sauce on smoked and they were terrible. The others at the table tasted them and found them to be pretty awful too. After we ate, one of the guys that went with us suggested that maybe the sauce had turned. I see this place everytime I go to Coffee Bean, I was curious about it. We decided to try it out. Let me just say that it's a shame that the service was bad, we sat down and waited 13 minutes until we finally had to grab an employee walking by. It was not at all busy, there were several tables open. And then he wanted us to order when he had just given us the menus, and he was scarce any other time we did need him. Great place, great people, good food and well, beer. Beer is good. My sexy girl claims the spicy garlic sauce on the original wings are the best wings she's ever had. And she doesn't put anything in her mouth she doesn't love. The food here is actually really amazing and the specials are unbeatable. Bar staff is amazing. Waitstaff is inconsistent, usually good, but sometimes not. I recently arrived at 11:15 with a group of friends (swearing up and down how awesome this place is) anticipating a midnight close and they had already closed their kitchen. I was in Austin for work and since I'm a low carb guy I stopped here. Was Not Disappointed! The garlic Parmesan wings were phenomenal and the White Wingz are this creation where they have a chicken breast stuffed with pickled jalapeños and wrapped in bacon. Fuhgeddabaoutit! Dem' fries though! Hands down some of the best in Austin. We split 15 wings with 3 different sauces (Jamacian Jerk, Lemon Pepper Dry Rub, and Jalapeno Honey Mustard). Honestly don't know what my favorite was! The regulars were amazing, the staff was fun, and the selection of sports on their flat screens was perfect. I enjoyed my 10 wing combo, all flappers. I was full. They give large wings and I ordered hot which wasn't too hot but had a kick, just as expected. The stainless steel wing box was a nice touch, so were the generous amount of TVs and rock in the background. Shame the service was slower than expected for lunch hours. I'd be late to work if I had to be back in an hour but since I was in gym shorts I didn't give off that impression. These are the best wings we have had in Texas! We love their golden wings and the smoked wings. The smoke flavor on these wings puts all the brisket we have had here in the Austin area to shame! We always order them naked and then dip them in sauce. Honestly, neither my husband nor I use much sauce because the wings are delicious in their own! This is sad because their sauces are SOOOO good! We love the spicy garlic, cajun, mango habanero, and carribean. The waffle fries are so worth the carb overload. I would run a 5k just to eat a basket all by myself! Yum. We have always had great service and good choices for beers. They are always willing to turn a TV to our favorite game. I'd never usually go to wing bars or sports bars in a shopping center type setting, but my boyfriend brought me here and I'm glad he did. We come here every Monday now for the $1 chicken tender special. The meat is high quality, pure chicken breast, very tender and they toss them in any wing sauce you choose complimentary. So good! I just tried the wings for the first time and got them smoked. You CANNOT go wrong with the smoked wings, they're perfection. Their fries are also on point. As for my previous review the wait staff has improved, although sometimes it can be fairly slow, the food here is always on point and consistent. I come here every Tuesday for their $.60 boneless wing deal. The service is always good, the food tasty, and the wings are bigger than I'm used to at other places. The name is Wingzup, correct...so why is it I feel that the boneless wings I got tonight were more like baby chicken breasts...they were really quite big fat all white meat chicken pieces. My order consisted of the fried pickle slices (dill), fried mac and cheese, number 1 basket (I chose boneless buffalo wings withe a medium sauce they refer to as Buffalo Ranch, side of celery and blue cheese to dip and even upgraded and paid the extra for the waffle fries) I brought home and was so craving what they refer to on their website as the best wings....well, not to be a wing hater, but the only part of my meal enjoyed were the friend mac and cheese triangles (and dipped in ranch dressing of course). Everything else, not so much..wait, the waffle fries were ok, but really, not many people don't like waffle fries....the sauce wasn't something I would refer to as medium, or even buffalo ranch...really don't know how to describe it other than left a little to be desired. They had baseball on all five flat screens in bar area with 4 different games on (two had on the Texas Rangers game).They have a huge selection of appetizers, different types of wingz and extensive list of other foods on their menu....but quite honestly, I don't think I will be back to try anything else on the menu. Wings were so so good! I tried the sampler (15 wings, served 3 diff ways). 5 fried, 5 grilled, 5 smoked --all were delish! Service was meh (at first). We were quickly seated and had our order taken. 15 min later, waiting on our drinks (a very simple beer order for 2 people), we see our waitress just chillin & engaged in deep conversation with another waitress ignoring her tables. The bartender was just standing there, when he wasn't taking breaks to bus tables. It was all just so odd. Finally my friend went to the bar & picked up our beers JUST SITTING THERE. I guess the bartender told our waitress that we grabbed our own drinks & she came over to aplogize. I appreciated her self awareness (by calling herself out). I had been craving wings all weekend and after two failed attempts to get seated at Pluckers (on two separate days!), my friends and I decided to check out Wingzup and were not disappointed. Sauces were good (highly recommend raspberry chipotle BBQ) and the wings were very meaty. Minor detail, but I like that they offer fried pickles in slices or spears because I am #teamspears and most places serve them in slices. And a final heads up, they served celery with a 5-piece order even though the menu says they only serve them with orders 10+. read more

We are huge fans of this place. Their ranch is amazing. But this last time we visited we discovered that apparently they let patrons smoke inside even though there are laws in Austin about that. So enjoy smoke with your wings. After being die hard regulars that just kills my live for the place at all. So five stars for the food but one star because of the smoke. The only thing that keeps this from being a 5 star review was the service. Our server was very slow and had a bit of an awkward vibe, and the food took a bit too long to come out. Once we finally got our food, however, it was totally worth the wait. I had the original wings and my fiancé had the chicken and waffles. The wings were moist and perfectly breaded. I opted for the Buffalo Ranch sauce, and it did not disappoint. I also ordered a side of sweet potato fries, which were good but largely ignored in favor of the wings. Next time I'll give the waffle fries a try. I tasted the chicken and waffles as well. The chicken tenders were as perfectly breaded as the wings, and the waffle was light and tasty. We were very happy with the wings from here. The worst about places like Pluckers and Wing Stop are the size of the wings for the price you pay. Not the issue at WingzUp. We bought the 15 piece mild wings for $14.40 (tax included). They were perfect. We bought our wings to go and the box was pretty heavy (a good sign). They were very crispy and the mild sauce had a great taste to them. I'd rather have them more hot but since this was our first time, I wanted to make sure the misses could tolerate them. We are definitely gonna take the heat up a few notches next time. This was very well worth the drive from South Austin and definitely worth driving past two Pluckers and about three Wing Stops along the way. See y'all soon. Thanks! read more
