I talked to a woman on the phone, she took my order and repeated. I asked if she wanted my card information now she said no. She gave me the #21 as my pick up order. She told me that my food would be done in 30 minutes. I get to the establishment at 5:58. The young man is taking orders. They are walk in orders. Those orders are being filled. I tried to get his attention. Small establishment shouldn't take that much. I was told to hold on. Okay! Now I waited another ten minutes and spoke up for myself and three more call in orders. We told him our numbers. Was the food done. No!!!!!!! It had to be cooked. Wait!!! What do you mean cooked? What was the purpose of calling in the order? This is where there is a disconnect. After having watched a show called Texas Bucket List, I made it my mission to go there. The Place is tiny with no place to sit, it's best to order it to go or eat it outside in your car. I knew something was up when everyone was ordering burgers without fries. "You don't understand, Chris. These burgers are HUGE." I wasn't sold though on the size. If the place offers up their burger in single, double, and triple varieties, how big could the single really be? With the other reviews that suggested long waits, I figured it would be a good idea to call the order in at noon. I phoned in our combined order for six burgers and four orders of fries, with all of the fries being ordered for people who have never eaten a Wingfield's burger. "Your order number is 2, and it will be ready in 10 minutes." I usually have to add an extra dash of salt, but I loved these just the way they were. I didn't see any salt on them, but the fries tasted perfect the way they were served and even hinted of bacon. Mmmmmm, bacon. I only finished half of the burger and half of the fries before I was stuffed out of my gourd. It's quite the feat to fill me up and still have this much food left behind. The hamburgers are big a juicy. They've been making them for years. I really think its the seasoning of the grill. Have you ever heard that term used to describe a cast iron skillet? This little hole in the wall is the absolute best burger in the area. The huge, juicy burger sits on a nicely toasted bun and can come with bacon, cheese, pickles, lettuce, tomato, onions and mustard and/or ketchup. They also have double burgers, but I really don't know who can eat those. I'm a big guy and can just barely finish a regular one. My son loves the ham and cheese sandwich, which comes with a big, thick, juicy slice of grilled ham. The lemonade is also excellent. As a tip, since they don't have any seating, you might be inclined to eat in your car...don't! The burger is a big, juicy, delicious MESS. There are a few simple guidelines to follow when eating here; if you do you will have a phenomenal experience. The first one is call you order in ahead of time, but only 10 to 20 minutes you don't want it to be cold. Secondly bring cash, it's a small place (hole in the wall) that does not except credit cards, and it's not the best place in town to find an ATM. Third, possibly have an entire roll of paper towels because you eat in your car, and you will need to be able to move your car if you are double of triple parked. I would also suggest a single patty burger, I have ordered the double and it is something off of Man vs. Food. The fries and onion rings are also very good. The best scenario is to play golf at Cedar Crest which is down the street and order your food as you're driving to the 18th green to putt. This is a serious burger, do not expect something small and light, this is back to basics. Seriously you bite into this monster and the juice will literary run down your arm to your elbow... It is decent! I think the size and the fact that it is native to Dallas makes this a hit not so much taste or service for that matter. Not sure why they charge an additional $1.75 for the lemonade without ice but it is still good. Prices are on the high side. Hopdoddy is cheaper and tastier than this restaurant, it is a lot nicer inside with wait staff, plus you can dine in at Hopdoddy. If I am in the area and craving sweet homemade lemonade with a huge burger with greasy onion rings that stain the white bag it is served in, it is not a bad place to go. It would be great if they had later hours, offered drive-thru, expanded their restaurant to make it dine in and revamped their look and got a better A/C unit (it is HOT in there), seasoned their burger meat a little more and offered friendlier service that organized the chaotic line that crowds the entrance. read more

Let me start off with saying: I can't believe I actually finished the double! I really should have read the reviews about how HUGE the patties are at this might fine establishment. I should have known when I saw those giant balls of meat cooking on the flat top when I walked in the door. WHY do they have a triple on the menu?!?! The reviews you see before mine no longer exists, Wingfield have changed tremendously, the burgers are reduced in size the frys have no flavor as well as the burger the service and integrity is no longer there. Here is what happened to me and my partner today. Yesterday I ordered 2 cheeseburgers and 2 frys, usually it takes at least 15minutes but this time it took 5 both orders where ice cold because it was possibly precooked for someone else. I call they asked me to leave information and I did, not sure who the guy was but he found it hard to believe and so did I to have been served cold food for $21.22 anyway he said come tomorrow and ask for jazz and she would take care of it. I had a plain-jane bacon cheeseburger with fries and lemonade. I have no idea how big the patty was but it had to be at least a 1/2 lbs with another 1/2 lbs of bacon and a thick, gooey piece of cheese on a buttered toasted bun. The fries weren't anything to write home about BUT the lemonade was to die for! It was like world peace, rainbows and puppies in a styrofoam cup. As good as it was, I don't think I could eat here often. There was no happiness at the bottom of my, now see through, paper wrapper. But, if being too full and a little labored breathing is the worst of this place then it must be freakin' great, right? The Good: The burger was awesome. Big, tasty, not greasy but moist enough. The bun was perfect. I got a plain hamburger with "everything" and mayo. Everything is tomato, pickles, lettuce and red onion. They put the perfect amount of mayo on there for me. It's not greasy either so it won't leave you feeling sick... just wanting more! This is a no frills kind of place that I seek out when I travel. It has a vibe. They were blasting Motown when we were there and the staff was nice. I ordered on our way which was fast and easy. The price is right. Less than $5 for a huge burger that will fill you. *I also ordered the onions rings (good but not worth sharing precious stomach room with) and the lemonade that I was unimpressed with. The Bad: Nothing really bad here. They did forget to bag my french fries which we realized later so there's that. But the burger was so good and none of us had room to waste on fries anyway.
