We arrived and waited just short of leaving until we were served. My husband has visited often and has left without being waited on previously. We had a double cheeseburger with fresh onion. The bun was very fresh with poppy seeds. My favorite part of the burger. The burger looked hand pressed. The onion is a thick slice. Will try fried next time. We had babies along so tried both fries and tots. Both were good. A very average yet long standing almost iconic stop for a burger while in the area. I got food poisoning here on June7th. .I ordered a double meat burger. I should have known better when they said curb side service only nd would not allow me to walk inside to order.. Shortly after, it was nasty so I didn't finish it, I could feel my temperature rise and I felt light headed. Then my stomach was upset and the next 24 hours was scary. Thank heavens for aloe Vera juice. These iold ladies either intentionally did something to my sandwich or they have poor food handling practice. This has been on my must try burger place in DFW. Got a chance on Thursday afternoon. I got there and was not sure on the procedure. One of the wait staff walked by and I told her this is my first time and how do I order my food. She said that she will be taking my order. Ordered Cheese burger with Jalapeños and fries. When the food was ready she got it to the car and took my CC for payment and came back with receipt. Food: Burger was delicious with mustard, jalapeño's and onions. Fries were on the oily side. The good- the burgers have always been outstanding! They have an old school, made to order vibe that is lacking in the national chains. My nephew was hesitant to try one, but after the first couple of bites he decided that he needed another! The fries are good too. The bad- the location can be best described as seedy. The Harry Hines area continues to deteriorate into cheap knockoff stores and massage parlors. It's sad, because you can see the remnants of what was once a vibrant hot rod scene. I used to come here on the weekends to get a beer and a burger, then mingle with the car guys. Service- it really helps to smile at the wait staff, especially if you don't know what to order! Park near the menu sign since there aren't any menus other than that. The regulars know what they want and usually leave the closest spots open for newcomers. I want to like this place, with the history and all. Plus the lil old ladies serving cars are super sweet. But the place looks more run down than nostalgic. Burgers here are just okay -- beef has little flavor or seasoning, patty well-done and a bit too tough. Poppy seeds were a nice touch on the bun, but I thought it was too big and bready and got in the way some. Fries came barely warm. It is nice having a classic drive-in still operating. You're not going to this location for any aesthetic. The blonde cute waitress was incredibly sweet with my awkward order. She was patient with us and brought out our food in a timely matter, they were even able to break a $100 for us. The location is a little bit off the grid, but if I were to frequent that area I would visit that location often. The burgers have the right amount of grease to keep the wrapping paper drenched but not them bag itself, a good middle. The burgers and big yet compact enough to easily eat in your car. The fries were incredible, they were golden and crispy on the outside while soft on the inside. You could taste that they were fresh, no ridiculous amount of salt. The grilled cheese was okay, this one wasn't too greasy but did have a soggy bottom. It almost reminded me of a packed school lunch grilled cheese but not in a bad way. Total came out to like 9.35 for a double meat burger with fries and drink. I tipped the waitress as well. But back to the food. The burger was small as hell but it was ok. The fries were trash. They tasted cheap. Like paper and oil. I don't think I'll come back. I pass this place every time I'm in the area for work and never thought to stop until I seen it on a Dallas food page. Still the best burgers anywhere! Keller' has a fresh new coat of paint and that are now taking credit and debit cards. They have increased the prices just a bit yet so have most places. I don't know anywhere that could even come close to being that price and there is no where that can beat the quality. It's a hike from Southlake but definitely worth the drive. Heard about this place on Thrillest and decided to give it a try. We pulled up and weren't 100% how to order but a helpful lady with a pleasant demeanor walked over and let us know that A. She'd be taking care of us and B. That it's cash only. Not a big deal - She told me where the two closest ATM's were and we told her we'd be back. (So bring cash. ATM is semi sketch) Parked again, our waitress, Fran, came back to the truck and greeted us. She told us a little history of the locations and their background - we ordered her recommendations which was a great decision. When the food came out, Fran said the total was $13.25. Mind blown... I gave her a $20 and told her to keep it. Hell, McDonalds costs what... $10 a person? We absolutely got our moneys worth! In summary, this is a great little find. Bring cash. What an experience. We met Casey the chef, who was the sweetest, warmest down to earth lady, ever. Made us feel at home and loved our dog, too. Told us there's a "puppy patty" with no bun, that came cut up. (Our doggy loved it!) Our server Fran was the bomb. She never rushed us and was so accommodating, we didn't want to leave our new friends at Keller's. She also was super sweet to our pup and brought her water.
