Located in Brooklyn's Alphaville, the concept is built around one simple philosophy: if you're going to dip, don't be shy. Their slogan says it best: "We don't skinny dip, we chunky dunk."
What makes Fry Baby unique isn't just the food, it's the culture. They host free karaoke on Mondays, comedy on Tuesdays, Java Jam on Thursdays featuring rotating soul, jazz, R&B, and blues musicians, plus weekend performances that keep the space feeling alive long after dinner.
My Taysty Tayke:
Get Down & Dirty, Expeditiously: Steak Frites
The hanger steak was beautifully tender with just the right amount of fat to keep every bite juicy. The garlic butter melted into the steak perfectly, while the seasoned fries made this an easy standout.
Beignets
Light, crispy, and soft on the inside. Delicious on their own and even better paired with the dipping sauces.
Big Battered Corn Dog
Made using hot dogs from Foster Sundry Butcher right in the neighborhood. Great batter, flavorful meat, and a satisfying crunch.
Onion Rings
Perfectly crispy with a great crunch that pairs well with just about every sauce on the table.
My Sauce Tayke:
The sauces are what truly make Fry Baby special. They've created their own lineup of "Fry Daddy" sauces that are meant for full-on cannonballs--not just little dips.
Favorites:
Hot Mess Honey - My favorite. Frank's RedHot, sriracha, honey, jalapeño, and garlic create the perfect balance of sweet heat.
Carolina BBQ - Sweet, tangy, and smoky with bacon adding extra depth.
Old Bay Mayo - A Maryland-inspired sauce that perfectly showcases Chesapeake seasoning.
Other standouts include:
* Alphaville Sauce - Burger sauce with ketchup, mayo, mustard, and pickles.
* Green Sauce - Herbaceous and fresh, almost like a cross between chimichurri and salsa verde with garlic and cumin.
* House Ranch - Fresh herbs, capers, and jalapeños give it a bright, flavorful twist.
* Spicy Ketchup - Warm spices add more depth than your typical ketchup.
My Tipsy Tayke:
Watermelon Daiquiri
Frozen, refreshing, and packed with fresh watermelon flavor. Slightly tart and perfect for summer.
Love Potion (Whiskey Sour)
Despite the name, it wasn't very sour at all. It leaned more toward a refreshing juice-style cocktail, making it really easy to drink.
Cucumber Mint Gimlet
Crisp, refreshing, and a great palate cleanser.
Espresso Martini
A classic option for anyone looking for a little pick-me-up after dinner.
The Experience:
Fry Baby has the kind of atmosphere that makes you want to stay. Between the live music, comedy nights, karaoke, rotating local artists, and genuinely welcoming energy, it feels like a neighborhood gathering place as much as it does a restaurant. You can tell there's a lot of family support and creativity behind what they've built.
Best For:
Group hangouts, date nights, live music, karaoke Mondays, comedy nights, sauce lovers, and anyone looking for comfort food with personality.

In Conclusion:
Fry Baby proves that sauces can be just as exciting as the food they're paired with. Between the incredibly tender steak frites, creative lineup of house-made Fry Daddy sauces, and a calendar full of community events, this is the kind of neighborhood spot that keeps people coming back. Come hungry, grab a few sauces, and remember... don't skinny dip--chunky dunk!
