Showed up at 8:53pm, on July 17, 2024. Google stated the restaurant closed at 9:30pm. We were promptly sat and awaited service, however, it never came. We were trying to have a night cap with our friend who were celebrating their 20th wedding anniversary. There was live music playing and the atmosphere was fantastic. We waited 17 minutes before leaving as the restaurant stated it closed at 9:30pm. I brought it up to staff, the only manager, and she stated "something happened in the back, so sorry about that." Totally understand. Things happen, however, leaving your customers stranded is unacceptable. At the very least someone could have explained SOMETHING to us at some point. Very disappointed for the super bummer of the ending to our evening. read more

Have eaten at the wine dive on 3 different occasions. Brunch and 2 dinners. All were fantastic. Excellent service, very clean and of course, amazing food. The tuna nachos are great and the steak (filet) is amazing. I've ordered twice because it's SO good. I rarely order steak when eating out because I can make it pretty well at home and am typically disappointed when I order in a restaurant. Not here, though! Give it a try! read more

Food was good(expensive) and restaurant is nice. I highly recommend you do not do an event with more than 10 people here. With our group of 24, we had only one server. We got our drink order in within the first few minutes of being there, but nobody got a drink for over 30 minutes. I alone did not get a drink for over an hour!!! They also didn't have the cocktail I ordered which is completely fine, the waiter had to come out and as me if I wanted something else, which took even more time but was at least a glimpse of fresh air knowing I was possibly about to get a drink. Multiple groups in my party were going to get drinks from the bar because they were taking so long. The slow night continued, little by little drinks and wine bottles were opened. By the time food was starting to come out, we had been there for around 2 hours(we ordered after about 20 minutes of being there). I then sat there patiently waiting for my food to come out, only for it to never come. I watched every person in my party get their food and many people finish meals before mine was even at the table. I genuinely thought I was getting pranked at this point and had to ask around the table if I was(would have been better if I was). I waited over an hour for one drink and didn't get to eat dinner with everyone else. Thankfully they at least gave me a free dessert, which honestly I didn't even want at that point, would have rather just left. Long story short if you want to do a moms weekend event or something similar to that, go somewhere else or ask if they can have more than one server. Food and drinks taste good, but is not worth the time or money we spent. Please do better for the next group of moms you guys host. Was not our servers fault at all, he did the best he could with what he was given from the restaurant. Do better as owners, this was embarrassing. Will not be coming back here for any events or recommend one the future. read more

Food is great, higher priced than expected. Further, the service was fine; like everywhere they seem a little short staffed.

Amigo was our server and he was amazing!!!!!! And the food and beverages are always on point!

All I can say is WOW! Food is amazing and very reasonably priced. Highly recommended, we will be back next time we return to the area.

This is an awesome addition to downtown Lawrence! Just what we needed! An awesome bar with the BEST bartenders in town, great happy hour, wonderful food with the BEST desserts! The bar has some fun cocktails that you don't find in other restaurants too!!! Finally Lawrence has a comfortable restaurant with great food AND bar where you can actually carry on a conversation with the person across the table from you! They have the best wine menu in town with a crazy number of wines by the glass to choose from! Win Win!!!!! Their outside dining isn't in the parking stalls and is protected from the weather so is perfect if you like outside dining. I can't wait to return and try EVERYTHING on the menu but one thing that will ALWAYS be on my order is the bacon appetizer. OMG--soooo good!!! read more

We ate at Wine Dive last night and had a wonderful experience. First of all, our waitress, Abby, was fabulous, very attentive and friendly. She gave us great suggestions on food choices. The food was wonderful. We had the cod dish, the salmon dish and the Mac and cheese dish. All were perfectly cooked and delicious. Highly recommend this wonderful place to eat. read more

We had dinner for two, the meatballs and lobster mac & cheese were fantastic. The French onion soup was bland and had a film of oil on the top. The service was great, the only issue for us was the table placement, they have so many tables jammed in the restaurant, there is a row of two tops in the middle of the restaurant. You're closer to the table next to you. then, the person in your dining with, you can hear everything they say it's awkward, uncomfortable, and ruined. What could've been a great meal. read more

Good food, good service, good atmosphere. Really enjoyed our experience both times we have been there. We were there on 6/23/23 & 7/28/23, we will return, but I will only pay in CASH. I'm fortunate to not have had my credit cards compromised previously, but after both visits, both cards used began having fraudulent activity. I'm waiting on a reply from the manager at this location as well as a reply from Steven Hospitality Group regarding this issue. I just want to bring it to their attention. We were really looking forward to this meal having made the trip from Parkville and after some busy holiday shopping we had built up an appetite. The server was welcoming and we sat outside as we had our puppy with us and the weather was mild for the time of year . The staff kindly turned on the heat lamp and we ordered some appetizers. The calamari, the tuna tartar and the coconut shrimp were all excellent and the presentation was beautiful. We ordered our main courses and a bottle of dry rosé wine. My wife's Coq au Vin was very good, sadly, there were no pearl onions, but the flavors were good and the meat literally fell off the bone. I ordered the NY strip steak medium-rare. The cut was thick ab=n charred but unfortunately it was way over-cooked and more like a well-done steak, which to me is just like eating a tough piece of carbonized leather. No pink whatsoever and sadly dry as a bone. I would usually let it go, but at $48.00 my wife insisted I should get it cooked the way I ordered it and the waitress took it away, but this significant interruption ruins the meal and the dining experience. I waited about 10 mins --meanwhile my wife had continued to eat her meal--the waitress returned with a new steak. It was a big improvement, at least it had lots of flavor and some juices, but it was what I would call medium. So I told the waitress again and she told the manager who came out to see us. I said that the chef needs to adjust his cook times, but as I was hungry and our patience was running out it would suffice. Because of the error they kindly comped us a lovely creme caramel dessert which was very good, but sadly the experience was soured. We'd probably go back again but I'd stick with the chicken or if I ordered a steak I would ask for it to be cooked "rare" or "blue". read more

coffee is weak - as in green tea weak - and the vacuous frat boys who serve as waiters all collect around the tv to watch it instead of refreshing the coffee or taking your order within 20 minutes of seating. tv is so interesting though. sorry, you can't have a pot at the table because they only have 1 pot. most of your time you'll have an empty coffee cup. if you don't order alcohol, the frat boys pout. perhaps a better name for the establishment would be 'the pouting fratboy'. the food was pretty decent at least, so maybe a good name would be 'sparse competency'. This would have been a good experience with: 1) new waiters 2) no tv 3) no bad music 4) quieter music 5) no tv over the music - i dont care if 'the game' is on. i don't go to nice restruants for that. if i was going to watch a game, i'd go to a stinky bar to be among the stinky individuals who enjoy watching games. 6) larger coffee cups 7) stronger coffee 8) attentive service - take the orders sooner than 20 minutes after seating 9) in a huge empty space, don't sit a quiet table of 2 RIGHT NEXT to a table of 20 watching 'the game'. Sit them across the space, obviously. obviously!! I too miss nice restruants in lawrence, this could maybe be one if they fix the obvious stuff above. read more

What the heck? I felt molested all night. I've been here many times with very good friends and loved every moment... everything has been amazing... yet a change. Why did we suddenly feel like there was no room? No way to be free from bumping and swiping... great service.. amazing food... just suddenly no room... what is this? What an amazing dining experience 3 of us had recently at Wine Dive + Kitchen - Lawrence. We had the privilege of meeting the most efficient and attentive server Abby. It was as if she could read your mind and know exactly what your next request might be. All of her suggestions were excellent from wine to food. I had a small hiccup in a food choice and the actual chef came to the table, spending a great deal of time making another meal choice for me that went above and beyond any expectation. It was very much appreciated to see an entrepreneur take such pride in his craft and to hear about his career journey bringing him to Lawrence. We are very fortunate to have this Chef! The food was excellent from the appetizers through the entrees. Then came the dessert: Oh my! The Chocolate Layer Cake was to die for!! The wine selection was also extremely good and Abby was knowledgeable. The atmosphere is pleasant and cozy enough to have a business dinner or hear a loved one talk with you over dinner. Have been wanting to check this place out and got the opportunity today for a family birthday meal. All of the good things I have heard were true! Carter gave us great service, the wine was wonderful and paired so well with our meals, and the food was fantastic. Portion sizes were perfect. We all mostly got seafood and all of the fish was cooked to perfection. Not overdone at all. Calamari was nice and meaty. The chocolate cake was AMAZING! We felt the pricing was good and the ambiance was classy yet casual. Music wasn't too loud and we could easily hear one another with the vibe still being fun. I often struggle hearing in these type of establishments when the tables are close together and they are busy, but this wasn't an issue here at all. Food did take a bit, but in this type of establishment that is to be expected as everything is made to order. If you want a fast meal, go to a chain restaurant. We drank our wine and enjoyed each other's company. It's nice to slow down once in a while, and partake of the good things in life!
