Trolley pickup is about a 45 min drive from downtown Kansas City. Trolley seats comfortably 30 people on wooden benches. Once the whole group was seated the driver filled us in on driving times, and rules. You can't bring your own food or drink to the wineries. I'm not a fan of this rule. The tour lasted about 5 hours most of which wine is consumed, making water and food a must. Out of the 3 wineries none offered complimentary water, one had a pizza food truck, one had a limited supply of cheese and crackers and one was a general store that sold nick knacks, our second stop wasnt a winery at all but a ' tasting room'. From what I could tell the trolley had no AC. The weather was nice in the low 70's so we put down the Windows only to get covered in a thick layer of dust , the wineries are off of dirt roads. The driver told us it can get dusty though which was an understatement. Conversation is in the yelling range as it seems were riding along in the belly of the engine. Along with the wide variety of music being blasted. If you do purchase wine it must be left on the trolley. We were dropped off at the 3 spots and had about an hour at each with about 20 min drive in between. Wine tastings range 8-5$ per person. Bottles on average run about $15. I had a blast with my group and it was nice to be safely driven so we could all enjoy the wine. Next time I would drive myself and only visit Somerset and Nighthawk. I will buy the food they have available but I will bring my own in addition to lots of water. If you have food allergies bring your own food.

I was here because of a holiday party given by a volunteer organization I work with in the area. The organization is Loving Paws and we provide therapy dogs for the community. The cool thing about Bluejacket is they let us bring our dogs. So we had a HOWL-a-day party here. The vineyard is easy to find. It's in a rural part of the county and you have to go down some dirt roads but it was easy to find. There is plenty of signage to guide you, as well. It is just a lovely setting. Beautiful grounds and everything has been carefully crafted. The main building is for tastings and gatherings. There was a roaring fire and comfy chairs in the main area when you walk inside. It is a large one room structure. To the right is the service area where you order your wine. To the left is seating area and plenty of tables and chairs. The wine flight list was extensive. The proprietor was very warm and informative. She led us through the flight choices and gave us background on the vineyard. It is a family venture which makes it even more cozy, there are many, many delicious wine choices. There was one I tried which was award winning. It was a Seyval, I think. Simply delicious! The proprietor answered all our questions and was very knowledgeable. She made the experience very nice. The prices on the wines were reasonable, too. The wine tasting gives you four glasses from one of these categories: red, white, and sweet. Afterwards you get to choose which one you want a full glass of. Their 3 egg omelette is the most refined one I've had to date. Despite being outside, the waitress was great in stopping and checking on us. Want to do a wine tasting and have children? What a friendly place for that. The view is beautiful outside with a small pond. There is a "petting zoo" with plenty of friendly animals. Come visit them.

I couldn't find 6 bottles of our favorite McCormick Vodka (From Weston...shopping nearly local), so a nice gal working there climbed the ladder to look up top and didn't find a box there, so she went in the back and found one for us.
