This place is an absolute must-visit! The wine was incredible, the prices were very reasonable, and they had such a great variety to choose from. The owners were so kind and welcoming, which made the experience even better. The atmosphere was quiet, relaxed, and perfect for unwinding. My favorite was the tomato wine, but they also had unique wines aged in whiskey and bourbon barrels that were definitely worth trying. Their cider was amazing too! We stopped by a few wineries on the way to Lawrence for dinner. Irvine's was far and away the best. The owners were incredibly kind and hospitable. One of them told us the story of the winery, allowed us to try a couple of different wines before ordering a glass, and happily served us our wine. It was a beautiful day outside and they had a band playing. We had a blast and I would highly recommend stopping by if in the area. read more

Without a doubt the best wine I've had at any winery I've been to anywhere. Not just wine but flavors I've not only never heard of it but never tasted. How about some tomato wine? Yes they have it and it taste like tomato and I'm sure would be great to cook with. The orange creamsicle on tap (mead) was so good. As was The Prairie Star white. One of the owners poured my tasting. He was super personable, knowledgeable and willing to answer questions. I will definitely be attending the next event as the outdoor set up is beautiful and can't be beat. read more

Irvine's Just Beyond Paradise is a unique winery in Laurence. It's well off the beaten path, but most definitely worth the trip. It's in the midst of a beautiful farming area, the rustling cornfields just a few yards away from the main outdoor seating and stage. This was our second visit to Irvine's. We attended their grand opening and this visit was on the "grandiversary." They have indoor and outdoor seating and a small covered stage. On this night, we heard lovely music by Parry, a young local band. The wine offerings were plentiful. They had some items offered outside and many more if you stepped inside. I went with a nice flight of seven tastings. Each was unique and I liked them all. Some of the wines I tried included Catawba, Blackberry, Mead, Valvin Muscat, Lime Zinger, Pear, and an absolutely delicious Orange Creamsicle mead on tap. It came with a small souvenir glass. My friend bought a glass of the most delightful Strawberry Rhubarb. They even offered a Tomato wine, which I kind of wish I'd chosen to sample. Some friendly people at the next table tried it and said it was worth the try, very unique with a bit of zing to it. The owners and employees are friendly and helpful, quick to offer suggestions if you're not sure what to try. There were some beautiful kabobs for sale which seemed to be a huge hit. The wines are reasonably priced. I most definitely look forward to future trips to Irvines and recommend it for a lovely day or evening out. read more

Ok this place is amazing, it's located just north of Lawrence nestled in a 40 acre farm, it's a beautiful area. The owners are a family and they are the nicest people you could ever meet. And of course the wine is 100% Kansas grown and so good. You have to try the Norton Barrel Reserve if you are in the mood for a superior dry red wine. read more

Great family owned and operated winery. Their mead products are amazing and yes the wines aren't bad either. If you are in the Lawrence area I would say definitely make the short trip out to the winery and support a great local business. Visiting Irvine's Just Beyond Paradise Winery was like taking a trip to the Bavarian countryside, tranquil, incredibly knowledgeable and passionate owners, and amazingly delicious local wine choices that are unlike any of the Kansas wineries I've visited! Refreshing, authentic, and local! Wine slushees be dammed, local KC wineries have nothing on Irvine's. Ed and George and incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about the product they produce. I'm a big wine drinker and have toured much of Napa and Sonoma and their selections and atmosphere rival wine country. I'd highly recommend the Prairie Star white wine. They even pop their own homemade popcorn to enjoy, from local corn they grow. I can't wait to return, and will be sure to bring my friends! read more
