I met my wife's coworker and his friends up here for a wine tasting and enjoyed it. The land surrounding it is beautiful, and it's tucked away nicely. The little tasting barn wasn't the nicest, it's sort of just a space. However, our hostess was awesome, personable, and helped make everything really fun. I really enjoyed a few of the wines! I'm not normally enamored with Kansas wines, but there were a few that were absolutely hitting the spot on this summer evening. We had just enough to feel warm and toasty, took a glass on the patio and closed the place down officially.

There's not really anything to tour, so if you come out when there's not live music there's not much to see or do. Plus the staff really were not very nice. Our friends didn't know and tried to bring their own beer. This staff lady yelled at them like they were kids in front of everyone. Then threaten to kick them out if they didn't dispose of the beer immediately. Later we found out from someone else that beer violated their liquor license and they could get in trouble. So why not calmly explain that and ask them to toss it. Rather than yelling at them in front of everyone. Would have left immediately after that but had promised our buddy we'd stay to hear his band.

I went with a $8 tasting as I haven't been here before. As for the wine of the 4 I tried I liked the Sweet Lacrosse, it was the perfect amount of sweetness. I really liked the slushies: margarita and piña colada. I wish I lived closer so I could go back to try some of the other wines but as it is I'll make do with searching my local liquor stores.

Strawberry was great without being overly sweet; I mixed blackberry and strawberry for a fun twist. Pineapple was fun and tropical. Food truck is outside, but you can take the food indoors to eat. The 3-meat flatbread pizza was super flavorful and extra meaty! Elote corn dip is thick and creamy, yet tasty with tortilla chips. The salty Bavarian pretzel is HUGE and comes with ballpark nacho cheese. All go well with cider! They have wine and other mixed drinks as well. We enjoyed quesabirria tacos from a food truck for the first portion of our evening, then got wine slushies for the second part. She got the white sangria flavor and I got the peach. Each came with a little candy on top. Both were sweet and delicious, perfect for us since we don't loveeee wine. Every corner of KC Wine is intentionally designed for you to be able to relax, grab a drink, and chat. There is ample parking, but in a grass lot so be emotionally ready, as well as plenty of seating in a wide variety of choices! They have games like corn hole and giant chess. To celebrate the birthday they had complementary s'mores! I grew up in this area and have since moved away but I wish I still lived here so I could be a regular at this wonderful spot!

The night we dined, the main was tagliatelle with white bolognese made with duck, boar and lamb which was absolutely delicious (each night has a different main course). Michael helped us choose a wine which paired perfectly with our meal. We had three different kinds of desserts, all of which were great--cafe affogato with an almond liqueur, house made panna cotta and a very complex basil strawberry sorbet. Based on the quality of everything we ate, I suspect it doesn't really matter what night on the calendar you choose to go, it's going to be fantastic.
