We went for Friends trivia event and had a great time! My friend had a wine flight and unfortunately did not find a wine that he enjoyed. I tried all of their flavors of ciders and landed on the pineapple was my favorite! Low alcohol content which is nice and tart and refreshing. TLDR: I do not recommend this at all for people with a physical handicap. I do recommend it for the able-bodied members of society. This winery hosts a variety of events, both public and private. We were there for the "boozey puzzle exchange" (bring a puzzle, drop it off on the table, find one someone else brought and take it home in a 1:1 exchange) and overall has a nice, relaxing time. The seating in the event space reminds me of the old wooden picnic tables you used to see in the 80s, very retro. The tables and benches are made from wood planks and have an uneven surface, so I t felt a bit like we were sitting in a park shelter. They also were not comfortable to sit at for long stretches of time, and the event lasted several hours and was followed up with another few hours of trivia, so the expectation was that we would be there all afternoon and into the evening. We did our puzzle trade and had a very expensive drink, which was very strong, to be fair. So strong in fact that our driver needed to eat and wait a few hours before being able to actually drive home, so we decided to go ahead and work one of the puzzles at the table. There were actually quite a few people doing this and it seemed to be welcomed and even encouraged. The problem then was again that the table surface was uneven and had huge gaps, so we kept having pieces drop through the cracks onto the floor and it wouldn't stay together over the uneven plank transitions. This is admittedly not an issue that will affect pretty much ANY other situation though. The drinks were tasty, the food was expensive but tasted ok, and much of the substantial food had to be purchased in a separate "building" outside, which was not at all convenient. All of the above could be overlooked if you go there knowing it ahead of time; the bigger issue is the Ada accessibility. Due to having surgery I am currently using a walker. Our driver dropped me off near the entrance to the building hosting the event, but the entire front "patio "area is completely covered with large gravel pieces. There's a bunch of outdoor seating, which would be nice during good weather, but the gravel made it extremely difficult to get across the patio and into the building where the event was taking place. My driver had dropped me off, parked the car, walked back across the parking lot, and made it all the way back to me by the time I got about halfway across the patio. The second issue was there's no bathroom inside the event space. The bathroom is outside, all the way across to the other side of the patio, and in basically a lifted trailer. After making the long and dangerous trek across the gravel with my unstable ankle using my walker, I then would have had to climb three rickety, wobbly steps to get up into the bathroom. I asked staff about the possibility of a different bathroom elsewhere and they said that was the only bathrooms they had. We ended up with Me holding it until we left and leaving a little earlier than planned because of that, so we could stop and find a bathroom on the way home. On our way out, we did notice two Johnny on the spots that were near the official bathrooms, but I would've had to have tried to maneuver into them with my walker and my surgical boot and try to stand and sit without my walker if the walker didn't fit inside, and if it did fit inside all of that would get gross from the Johnny on the spot's floor and I do have to use all of that inside my carpeted home as well, so that was not something I was willing to do. That's on me, though. They did at least have the option there for people who could not climb the stairs, gross as it may be. It would've been nice for the employee to have mentioned them as an alternate though instead of us seeing them as we were driving out. With all of that said, I'm torn on my reading here. I feel like an outdoor venue like this. It should be expected to not be top-notch. ADA compliant; however, having the indoor event spaces, they should have a paved way into those. They also need to do better at the bathrooms if they're going to host events here. I cannot imagine showing up here for a wedding and having to try and use the trailer bathroom or the Johnny on the spot in wedding clothes. read more

I love the holiday season and all things Christmas. Some girlfriends and I went to the Jingle Bar Pop Up for a birthday celebration, and we all loved it! Everything was decorated to perfection, there were so many photo ops, and the food/drink was better than we thought. The lights strung all around made the space so beautiful. We shared the pepperoni flatbread, margherita pizza flatbread, charcuterie, and giant pretzel + cheese. All were great for sharing. The drinks were good too; however, I wish they came in those cute holiday cups (extra $$) instead of small plastic ones. We tried all the drinks - Jingle Juice, Merry Mojito, Mistletoe Marg, and White Sangria Slush. My personal favorite was the White Sangria Slush, although it did make me more cold drinking it! The only other thing to note is that it was quite cold inside, and we all preferred to keep our winter coats on. Bathrooms were also outside, detached from the main space. I've been to KC Wine several times over the past few years for events. The staff is always pleasant and helpful. Friends and family came Sat for their Fiesta KC and enjoyed tacos, churros and margaritas. We took the long trip out in the country to try this vineyard out and brought our two toy pups with us as it is located outside and multiple other vineyards allow and encourage customers to bring their dogs. When we arrived we saw multiple signs stating No dogs allowed. This really worried us as we went all the way out, but we asked a few people at the bar/ordering station if we could hold them and they said it was not a problem. They even brought us some dog water bowls which was super nice. We enjoyed the charcuterie box and pepperoni pizza flat bread and some ciders as well. This was our 1st visit as I had this in my "try" list for quite awhile! It is quite a drive from the Northland and definitely out in the country. It was not busy at all when we arrived close to 2pm on a sunny KC Saturday. We ended up being there for EMO music bingo ... not quite our genre but fun!! KC Wine is beautiful, we just didn't like how you'd have to walk to another area to order food/drinks then walk back to the barn and eat/drink. The wine slush was spectacular. Not too sweet, not full of alcohol, it was just right. The wine flights were perfect. Some of the gfs did get the flatbread. They loved it. Fun atmosphere out here in Western Olathe and they're actually open till 9 PM which seems pretty late for a wine place. They have a ton of drink options as well which include wine, wine, slushy, draft, beers, and ciders. I ended up ordering a sweet flight of wine for $12. It came with five wines, which also included a small glass that you get to take home with their logo on. It was also live music playing, which I love to have some days. Always a fun time here! We've previously been here for music video bingo and this time we attended their Wine Walk. It seems there is often a good crowd and I really love their space; it's very open and they have ample outdoor seating as well. Highly recommend the wine walk! They had set up five stations, each pairing a different wine with a different cake. Beautiful time of year to do it and we loved the experience. At the end, we were able to play around at the carnival-like area with several fun games. Once back inside, we got some sangria slushes and browsed the local vendors. We had a blast! read more

We always have a great time at KC Wine Co. we come here for the events that they have throughout the year and we always find that it is worth the drive. I enjoy the wine slushes and always take home a few ciders. The yard games are always fun and I feel a surprising amount of joy playing their chicken piano. Another one of my favorite things to do is use the inner tube slide. They do a great job at decorating and making sure the area is festive for each season. Most recently, they added a spot to get food (instead of relying on food trucks). I found the food to just be ok but it's nice to have more food options now. Coming from midtown, it's quite a hike to get out to KC Wine Co but it is more than worth it, especially on a gorgeous fall Saturday. Honestly, I'm surprised I haven't made it out there yet. It's a gorgeous spot out in the countryside next to the KC Pumpkin Patch. We chose to do a dry wine flight which we took out to the covered seating area while listening to live music. Keeping in mind that we are talking about local wines (it's not like tasting in the Napa Valley!), I love to support local businesses and we enjoyed our wine flights very much. As the afternoon got busier, it did become a bit harder to get a follow-up drink as the line to the inside bars was long, but they have plenty of seating and it's a wonderful way to spend a beautiful afternoon. Make sure you go out with plenty of time if it's a nice weekend. There is also the option of food trucks (on certain days) if you are hungry. The facility was clean and festive for the event (Adult Easter Egg Hunt), ample parking although lots of big potholes in their lots. The lines were long for drinks and food that kind of mingled with the lines for the wristband entry, the exit with your goodies and the bathrooms. We saw on the news that KC Wine Co was having a pop up Halloween bar so we drove to BF Egypt because it looked like fun. It's a winery so it's way out on the edge of Johnson County so if you're legitimately from Kansas City, this is going to be a haul. They had four specialty cocktails, the Vampire Mojito, a Caramel Sangria, a Pumpkin Pouch and a Hallowrita. We tried all four and the Caramel Sangria was the standout for me. The Hallowrita was really kind of foul, mainly because of the sugar on the rim. These are verrrrry small drinks for a verrrrrry high price - $12 apiece for a cup the size of those plastic wine glasses you buy for a cheap wedding. They had fun decorations and live music and it was located in a big barn with open garage doors and there was nice weather so it was a great vibe, but would I drive all that way and spend $55 for 4 drinks again? Inside the barn, there were several local vendors selling clothing, food, and other items. It was fun to walk around and take a look at what was offered. The drink prices here are pretty reasonable; several of the ladies ordered the $12 cider flight, while I had a couple of glasses of red wine ($8). We stayed there for an hour and a half, and enjoyed ourselves. The place itself can be confusing since there's two entrances, but it does lead to both places. There's two areas. One is the winery itself where the main area is. Second area is on the far right. Both are separated by a pond. The second place is usually where events are held like the KC Pumpkin Patch. Came here with a friend for their Oktoberfest! It was amazing and I highly recommend if you get the chance to go there. Their alcoholic offerings were fantastic. We tried several of their beers, some of their special offerings (wine slush & spiked apple cider slush), and some of the representative cultural food (Bavarian pretzel and Bratwurst). Everything was delicious. The property was also gorgeous and had so much space with a bunch of event specials (booths and games all over the property). I've only come for the specific event but I'm sure the actual vineyard and its general amenities are just as amazing. Definitely recommend KC Wine Co. if you ever get the chance. read more

Went to this place at the beginning of September for Octoberfest. Lets just skip the fact that it was scheduled in the wrong month and jump right into why I won't be going back. Tickets for this even is $20, and what do you get with this? a really cool, glass, double shot glass. Now this super small, mug-shaped, drinking device is supposed to be used to go around and get 5 free samples of beer. However, they only give you a shot.....A SHOT OF BEER! WTF! Last year they provided you with a good size mug so that you can actually enjoy a drink of beer....but not this year. Apparently the owners got so stingy that they decided to no longer offer free samples.......Lame! So not only do you no longer get decent beer samples, but the only beer that you can buy is theirs.....for more than what you would pay at a concert ($7 for 12oz). Way overpriced. As for food, there were about over 100 people at the even with only one food truck......just ONE. Not only was the food not that great but the selection wasn't great either. Lets just say that I left to go get a sandwich rather than wasting my money at the venue. So along with crappy selections of overpriced beer and food, lets talk about entertainment. The only thing worth my time was the band that they had playing, which were great. Other than that, if you were sober, you were bored out of your mind. There is absolutely nothing there but cheap, Amish versions, of popular games like plinko, skeeball, and pinball. There were a few other slides and a place where you can make really large bubbles, but the soap that was used stunk so bad that I couldn't tolerate standing anywhere close tent. I mean the smell was really bad. Basically, you spend way too much money to go someplace out in the middle of no where, and you spend way too much money on beer, and if you don't buy enough to get drunk, then you end up bored. And if you DO get drunk...then guess what, you can't drive home. And a Lyft or Uber would also cost too much because of the distance alone. Not worth my time or money and was greatly disappointed in how the venue doesn't seem to care enough about the guests to provide legit entertainment (which would include reasonably priced food and beverages and games that you can have fun playing sober). I'd be more entertained buying a six pack and sitting in a back yard watching grass grow. I highly recommend that the venue go back to how they did it last year and offer decent beer samples for their guests instead of being cheap asses. I've also read some of the other reviews and believe that they had to be left for a different place of business because this place does NOT offer beautiful grounds, or huge outdoor seating, or fantastic alcoholic offerings (their spiked cider slush was disgusting compared to last year). If they intend to keep trying to save money to make more profits, then they are doing it all wrong. The people I went with agreed that this year's Octoberfest sucked really bad compared to previous visits; which was a bad first impression for me. read more

I have been here many times for different events such as the sunflower fest, pumpkin patch, bingo, live music, etc. Each event was average. Events that offer prizes were items you get at the dollar store. The ticketed events have more to do, but even then, it was mediocre for the price. The ticketed events also get filled with people which makes it more enjoyable. The wine is also fair. I did not like some, but enjoyed others. It's also nice that they offer Merlots, cabs, etc since some wineries are just alcoholic juiceries . With that said, I would recommend the sunflower red as a starter wine. I would also recommend their wine slushies which are very good and not overly sweet. The service is also very friendly and they are willing to assist you with any of your needs. They also provided me with sample tastes as well which was kind of them. KC wine Co also has very instagrammable pictures if you're into that as well. Great outdoor winery for a gathering with friends! We (group of 3) each tried one their featured slushes, blue raspberry, sangria, and a twist of blue razz and lemonade. KC Wine Co almost feels like a staple in Kansas. They constantly have events, new product launches and a rotation of food trucks on site. The outdoor space is lovely and there is so much seating. It is so great to sit right next to the vineyards the grapes grow on. The staff is super friendly and seem very knowledgeable about the wine they serve. They have a pretty good size menu and they even offer wine slushies which is one of the things they are most known for. Their flavors of slushies change seasonally. My friend and I both got a wine flight as we wanted to try multiple wines. I don't consider myself a wine snob but I do love wine and drink it often. I tried 5 different red wines and was rather disappointed with the taste of each of them. Their wines are very smokey. That might be some peoples preference of wine, but personally is not the flavor I enjoy in my wine. When I say smokey, I mean the wine literally tasted like smoke. The space overall is great and there is so much seating. I can see why people come here so often. However, the wine is not something I would rave about or honestly probably get again.
