Everyone here is always so nice. I have to admit, what brings me here the most is the Mean Mule itself - it is SO GOOD. It's so cute here. It's such a nice spot for me to sip on a drink for a bit. I don't frequent crazy often, but I've been here a decent amount and always have a good experience !

Stopped by Mean Mule over the 4th of July weekend and was seriously impressed. The cocktails? Creative, balanced, and super refreshing on a hot summer day. You can tell they care about what they're pouring. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, which really added to the whole vibe. Bonus points for the friend of the bar slinging hot dogs outside for the holiday. A fun and unexpected touch that made the whole experience feel like a little block party. Definitely recommend if you're in KC and looking for a spot that nails both drinks and atmosphere.

Mean mule has been my favorite cocktail bar for years now. The service, drinks, atmosphere and vibes are consistently excellent. The staff is loyal, I've had many of the same servers multiple times and they're always lovely. Margaritas, Palomas and even their Espresso Martini are just perfect.

Mean Mule Distilling is a GEM. If you're in Kansas City and you haven't been here, you're missing out. Their mocktails are next-level--elegant, complex, and thoughtfully crafted. I'm obsessed with the mocktails: Equinox, Kleopatra, and Ollie Oxen Free. Each one is a flavor journey--something I've never experienced in a mocktail anywhere else. The Mean Mule cocktail itself is amazing, and every drink on the menu offers something totally unique. The combinations are creative in a way that makes you want to try the whole menu. Whether you drink alcohol or not, this is the kind of place where you feel seen, celebrated, and delighted. The vibes? Immaculate. The staff? Knowledgeable and kind. The drinks? Literal works of art. This is hands down the best bar in KC. I'm also obsessed with all the plants and the incredible scent of the space--it was so inviting, I had to buy their incense. Now my home smells like Mean Mule, and I love it.

During a recent trip to Kansas City, Missouri, I explored Brewer's Alley, where Mean Mule Distilling Co. stood out as a unique experience. Having just come from a beer anniversary party, my friends and I were in the mood for cocktails, and Mean Mule, an American agave distillery, offered exactly what we wanted. Mean Mule's spirits are crafted from Jalisco-sourced agave, though it can't be labeled as traditional tequila since it's distilled in the U.S. I started with a Paloma--refreshing and expertly balanced with citrusy and earthy agave notes. Then, I tried their innovative shot called Tommy Pickles, a play on the classic pickleback. The twist? It was inspired by the flavors of Hidden Valley Ranch. While we half-expected a squirt of salad dressing, what we got was a carefully spiced shot that captured the essence of ranch without being overpowering. It was surprisingly smooth and flavorful, adding a fun, unexpected element to our tasting. If you're in Kansas City, Mean Mule is a must-visit for anyone interested in learning about American agave spirits. Just be sure to arrive early--the place fills up fast, and it's easy to see why!

Cool. Cozy. Quaint. Mean Mule Distilling is a slice of south of the border heaven tucked away in the Crossroads. The agave spirits are distilled on site. They're also mixed into tasty cocktails and served in the tasting room. A few wine and local beer options are available for those who are interested. Alcohol-free mocktails are, too. The staff are laid back, easy to talk to and happy to help.

I really enjoyed my visit to Mean Mike this last weekend. I had been once prior but that was years ago. It looks much different than I remember. The interior is so clean with a nice aesthetic. Service was friendly and attentive. I ordered a Paloma. It was so good! Very refreshing on a beautiful weather day. I will definitely be back and recommend Mean Mule to anyone.

Mean Mule is a beautiful distillery! On my recent visit to KC I was so excited to give this place a try. it exceeded my expectations. I went on the Fourth of July and got the special red white and blue frozen Fourth of July drink. It was absolutely delicious. I also tried another cocktail off the menu and was very pleased with that as well. The service was very good. The staff was very friendly. I will definitely be back.

We walked into mean mule and were able to grab a seat pretty quickly. It was a cute and modern cocktail bar right in the heart of the crossroads with big open windows. This was my first time at mean mule and I ordered the white pizza. This homemade drink is a fun take on a Negroni and had me wanting another one. They have weekly specials that our bartender was very excited to tell us about. She had a lot recommendations not only for mean mule but for the surrounding bars and restaurants. Go check this place out!!

One of the best cocktail spots in the city. Mean Mule knows what they are doing. Their cocktails are delicious, inventive and well-balanced. I personally love their seasonal cocktail menu. Their southwest yet modern aesthetic is on point. Thank goodness they expanded their space so now there's more seating! They don't take reservations for under 7 people so you may have a bit of a wait or even be turned away. Their new "family table" can be reserved for 7-10 people at $10 per person which covers a round of spirit pours. Their Agave Lounge accommodates private parties of 14-50 people for a rental fee. A must-try if you're a local, and a great spot to take out-of-towners.

Unique and ambient distillery/bar with innovative cocktails and spirit tasting opportunities. We came pretty late in the night so the only table available was a high-top (no chairs) but we didn't mind. The space itself is very chill and inviting. And the cocktails we tried were actually delicious - absolutely loved the matcha cocktail. Can't wait to come back!

So fun! My friend and I came here to grab a drink and as someone that isn't the biggest drinker (especially tequila lol), I really enjoyed Mean Mule! They do a lot of drinks with agave spirits here, and decided to try their Pickle's Punch Mocktail - with their Silver Agave. This was SO good! It had a really nice kick of spice to it and was really smooth to drink down. I was honestly surprised as I don't love tequila drinks that much, so I wasn't sure how I'd like this drink! They offer a whole bunch of other drinks that I definitely would like to come back and try, but the combo that I got was really good. The place is super cute and had a live DJ playing some background music as well. Downside is, it is a pretty small place so it might be hard to grab a seat, or you may have to wait a bit. Overall, great ambiance and decor. Staff was also super nice and gave us suggestions as to what to get - and in our case, which Agave to add to our mocktail when we wanted to turn it into a cocktail. She gave us a great rec!

The feast of fire hits my veins like electricity when I take the first sip. This is the best drink I have ever had HANDS DOWN. It is the perfect amount of spice, sweetness and savory with the scent of cilantro as you sip. The vibe of mean mule is like disco cowgirl meets Wild West funky town. This bar was made for the bold, genuine, down to earth gal. MM holds a special place in my sappy heart.

Little did I know that President Truman's political rise was deeply rooted in Kansas City--and facilitated by Tom Pendergast's sprawling web of influence, from concrete contracts to control of the police. It quickly becomes clear why they called it Tom's Town. I booked a tour at the last minute on a Saturday night, showed up 15 minutes early, and eased into the evening with a few sips of a perfectly made Old Fashioned--yes, you're allowed to bring it with you on the tour. From there, it was part distillery walkthrough, part Prohibition-era storytelling, and part generous spirits tasting. Our guide, Tony, was outstanding--enigmatic, passionate, and incredibly articulate. He brought the history to life without ever feeling rehearsed or dry. The dimly lit lounge rooms seal the deal, giving the entire place an authentic speakeasy vibe that feels both polished and transportive. If you're in Kansas City--even briefly--this is a must. Come for the cocktails, stay for the history.

I landed back in KC for work and went straight to Restless Spirits in North Kansas City on my way to my hotel from the airport. They put my luggage in the distillery so I could enjoy all they had to offer. I made it in-time for happy hour--$2 off cocktails and some snacks 4-6pm each night. I love the decor--lights are dim and it's very homey and cozy. The bar has books behind it and looks old-timey. It's almost mid-November but there were still Halloween decorations up and some Halloween drinks for sale in a fridge in the back. The distillery in the back is large and looming--they give tours, but I didn't take one. I sat at the bar and enjoyed being served my $2 off espresso martini from Abby and listening to her and Cheryl tell me about the history of the bar. It's predominately Irish drinks (the founders/owners are Irish) and they had a mafia-like war with another Irish brewer in the Kansas City area. That brewer's logo includes goats I believe, and Restless Spirits' includes a bunny! That's why many of their drinks have a bunny on it. The manager Adam is also from Ireland (his wife's family is from Overland Park) and is so friendly. Abby was the best bartender, really taking care of me and making me feel at home. She's thoughtful, kind, caring, fun, and funny. She worked the room well, serving a table who requested a drink from her because they liked one she made. Restless Spirits has a lot of cool merch and history (there's a merch room) and I left with a green hoodie that says "got whiskey" for my partner who loves whiskey. They've also won best distillery in Kansas City for the past few years! They offer cinnamon-flavored whiskey and so many cool Irish-American drinks and cocktails.
