The drinks are my favorite here. I love the maple old fashioned! Food is usually pretty good and this restaurant is one of my favorites in Lawrence. If I could give it 0 star I would. 5 yrs ago I gave it 5 stars and 2 yrs ago I gave it 2 stars because they served me a 38.00 chicken parm which menu said chicken parm w mushroom risotto and what they gave me was grits w a chicken parm of thigh meat! Chicken parm is not made w thigh meat anywhere! Seems like it was a way to use a 1.50 piece of chicken and .50 of grits and charge 38.00. Last night may 30 i ordered the chicken milanese w breast meat as you can see from my attachment from menu. Nope once again took a cut of the chicken and dark meat again and I hate dark meat. Cut it in half and showed waitress who went and talked to the kitchen. They said that when they butcher the chicken they sometimes get thigh meat w the breast???? What? Unbelievable that a manager didn't come to discuss but 35.00 bucks for thigh and arugula salad is robbery. She was kind enough to take off bill but still feel 715 is trying to pull one over again which might explain all the empty seats as well. Have shared this story w a few folks who have said it has gone downhill in the last several months. The prices you charge are over the top. Plenty of other places in town to eat like q39 where you can get a 3 meat platter w 2 sides and order of wings for the same price as 715's chicken thigh and arugula salad! Ok after this i am done. It really quenched my lobster thirst. I was in the trenches with it I won't lie.. I got lobster poo all over me.. I cut myself when cracking the claws.. but it was all worth it. This was my first time dining at 715 and I really wanted to love it. The space is cute and the menu looked promising, but the experience didn't fully deliver. The green beans were hands down the best thing I ate. They were fresh, well-seasoned, and topped with feta and sliced almonds. Light but flavorful. The lasagna bolognese was hearty and satisfying, and the focaccia was soft with a nice char. Perfect for dragging through that red sauce. The crab ravioli was a miss. It tasted fine, but visually it looked like it was topped with canned tuna. For a $35 pasta dish, I expected claw or leg meat or at least something that felt more elevated. It just wasn't giving what it needed to give. Service wasn't great either. Our server never introduced himself and barely checked on us. He seemed overwhelmed and like he was running the entire floor. We were seated really close to other tables so it felt cramped and loud. Not ideal for a dinner that's supposed to feel special. We had an excellent experience on a hoppin' Friday night. The happy hour menu is a great way to try several things. They also have an extensive and unique bar menu. We had great burrata, a pork sandwich and the French baguette. The Former Spy cocktail was delicious and refreshing as was the saffron lemonade (NA). And since this was Thanksgiving weekend Mass Street had every single tree full of colored lights. Magical. 715 is a locally owned Italian-style neighborhood restaurant. Their web site says they offer simple fresh handmade food and I can attest to that. The food is flavorful not over powered by too many ingredients letting the flavors shine. For starters we shared Wild Mushrooms and Grilled Octopus. For dinner Roasted Salmon, Pork Schnitzel, Crab Ravioli and Classic Meatballs, everyone loved their choices. The libations were Pinot Moir, Old Fashion and two of their Gin and Tonic creations. Rosemary's BeBe and Glitz & Glam, both were tasty. No beers on tap that I saw. Wide selection of wines, including a Bordeaux for $975? Lots of wines by the glass, including a few affordable. food: My wife had the HH burger ($13) and green salad ($7). I had the HH house chips and dip ($4). All the HH food was very good and reasonably affordable! I was surprised by how big the serving sizes were for both dishes! We also enjoyed the green line classic cocktail. While the restaurant had a nice ambiance, it was really hot inside and there was zero air movement. Who would've thought that it would be cooler outside in the middle of June than it was inside. A very nice first visit to this popular spot in downtown Lawrence. We enjoyed alfresco dining on their large on street patio. It was a beautiful April evening and when we arrived at 6:30 on a Wednesday it was very busy. I'm not sure if the volume of customers was unanticipated, but it appeared that they might have been understaffed. More on that later. Our cocktails (one signature and one standard) were very nicely done and well presented. For starters we enjoyed their famous Brussels which were absolutely incredible and the goat cheese croquettes which were also super tasty. We shared a very generous portion of the braised beef and pork ragu over lumache (which we requested special as it is normally served with penne). From an experienced Italian cook I can attest that is was very authentically prepared. We also shared a house salad that we agreed was pretty lackluster. My wife loved the very creative Sprinkle Bitch dessert to end the night. The real miss here I have to say falls on the service side. First off it was my wife's birthday which I listed on their online booking platform. There was never a mention or acknowledgement or anything done special with regard to that. Secondly, our server Jess who was perfectly pleasant in every way was either having an off night or was over tasked because she was largely inattentive and slow even to just take and deliver initial cocktails, our main order, etc. We saw firsthand several of her tables having bar backs or bus boys bring out cocktails (including one of ours) and desserts. We have been going to 715 since it opened over 15 years ago. Though we no longer live in Lawrence, it is one of our must visits when we return. We were there Tuesday evening for dinner. As always, the service was great. The food was terrific too. Our group had the special chicken piccata. The portion was huge (the leftovers were a great lunch the next day!). One person had the penne ragu; it was huge and delicious. We love the atmosphere at 715. No one rushed us and we were able to linger over coffee. Just an update on our favorite place on Mass St. The food is always interesting, fresh and delicious as is the drinks. We sit at the bar and are familiar with the bartenders and waitstaff. They have been going through some new additions which we are getting used too. Elliott, that we met our first night in is still our favorite bartender, Lori is always friendly and helpful and one of our favorites. The place gets busy so arrive early or make reservations. I just wanted to share some of the delicious dishes we've been indulging in over the past few months. The ribeye is top notch delicious, perfectly cooked and very large you should give it a try. Cucumber delite, any and all soups, charcuterie board, asparagus and "The Brussel Sprouts" are all delicious and you can't go wrong with any of those choices. I highly recommend!! I couldn't be more excited to have stumbled into this by accident. We were getting the munchies and a lot of the restaurants don't open till four. This one had just opened up and had an excellent happy hour menu. We sat at the bar, but there is literally no bad spot. Someone extremely talented elegantly designed the outdoor seating, and curated an intimate but fun vibe. We only had a couple appetizers, but I have to say I am obsessed with the goat cheese croquettes. There are only three to a dish, so I'll tell you may have to order multiple for a table. But so wonderfully price for happy hour I'm OK with it. I don't think I can ever come back here not order them. Heaven. Absolutely heaven. The bartenders and servers were so friendly. If you find yourself in Lawrence during their happy hour, it's a slam dunk! A Must try. This also looks like a wonderful date spot at night. Great for date night, great for friend night, great for everything. Ate outside last night and it was a fun experience as usual. The mood outside is vibrant and energetic while still allowing easy conversations. Two different patio experiences available (front on Mass, enclosed garden in the back) along with a beautiful restaurant inside with exposed brick walls and open kitchen. The food is always awesome. Some of my favorites are their fries that come out super hot with an addictive garlic truffle sauce (as well as aioli and ketchup), all of their pastas but especially the shrimp spaghetti with harissa butter, pork schnitzel, their fresh fish specials, and all of their desserts. The cocktails are creative and delicious. It's always a relaxing experience. You can tell this place is well managed. This was the place to be on a Friday night. We had reservations and were sat on time. Service was friendly and helpful. Atmosphere was fun but still a little upscale. The food was good. My scallops were fantastic as was the lamb, filet, and prawns. I didn't love the lobster deviled eggs but they weren't bad. Wine list is also really good. On The COVID front, the tables are legitimately 8 inches apart (which also makes it awkward to get in and out of without putting your butt in your neighbor tables face). read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. This restaurant called me 30 minutes before our reservation, telling me that they had to cancel my reservation because of the party size and they couldn't seat us inside. They suggested seating us outside in the freezing rain as the only alternative or seating us inside, 2 hours after our original reservation time. Mind you, this cancellation was communicated on a Friday night when everywhere else was booked. Happy Hour is eclectic- the salmon dip was not to my liking nor my husbands . The meatballs were tasty but very small and only a small portion for a large price - However both dishes seemed to be ordered a lot when I looked around. Then we also got a crab pasta - the server did mention it's a heavy pasta and it's easily shareable so we asked if they could split it! We arrived at 715 for our 5pm reservation and were seated promptly. Brook took our drink and food order and the evening started out nicely. The drinks took a few extra minutes, but that was ok since we saw the bar was crowded. We sipped our drinks, finished them but still by 530 there was no food. My wife ordered a burger and saw one set out on the heated counter around 520. That same burger was picked up by another waitress and taken to another table...then brought back and sat on the heated counter again. I had ordered the beef sliders and fries. Plates of those had come and gone from the kitchen while that burger sat under the heater. Finally, at 545, our food was served to us. I told the server that we did not want the burger since it had sat out for at least 20 minutes and had even been taken for a walk. Another was ordered, but not ordered as we had asked, without onions. It finally came to the table and my wife just ate the patties. Then, we were asked if we wanted another drink! Unfortunately families on both sides of us had ordered and eaten before we received any food. We were told the burger would be taken off the price of the meal. That did not happen. I paid the full bill as we were not going to wait for it to be corrected. We had done nothing but wait the entire time at 715. We have enjoyed your restaurant many times before. I am sure tonight was just a one off, but please have your manager be more proactive when they see food sitting under the heater for long time periods or see customers with nothing in front of them to eat or drink for an extended time. read more

I'm so glad we thought ahead and made the reservation. It was also awesome to see them so busy on a Saturday night. We are still talking about the food. The food was beautiful but disappointing. - Octopus had an odd mushy texture that you had to get through but the sauce on this plate helped you choke it down - ceviche with dates just tasted like a basic bowl of chili - the lasagna Bologna's oddly tasted like canned chef Boyardee (which my husband actually likes but we didn't come here and pay these prices for that flavor) - I ordered the half chicken because it's kind of the vanilla of ice cream, if you mess it up then can you really be trusted? I was unpleased immediately with the appearance. The taste was nothing of quality or special per say. - we tried many cocktails and beers. The local beers were good.
