Came in for weekend brunch and had such a great experience at 23rd Street Brewery. First off, major win that brunch is served until 1pm... perfect for those of us who don't exactly jump out of bed early. The vibe was fun and inviting, and it looks like they've carried over the magic from their super popular Christmas pop-up into a fresh, spring-inspired theme. It adds a really playful, seasonal touch without feeling overdone. What really made the visit stand out, though, was the service. Our waitress was fantastic--super friendly, attentive without hovering, and offered great suggestions that we actually ended up loving. Tip: Get a basket of French fries for the table! Overall, it's one of those spots that works for just about anything--family outings, catching a game, bigger group gatherings, or even a more low-key, intimate meal. LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS PLACE! It is really great for any occasion, from birthday celebrations to KU watch parties. I am obsessed with the ambiance of the place - especially during Christmas time! It is just so fun and I look forward to eating there any time we have guests in town. Another plus is that the wait staff is so friendly and always make you feel welcomed, and they give great food suggestions! Some of my favorite food items include: the Bill Self Mac, ANY of the pizzas, Cobb Salad, Meatball Grinder, and Patty Melt. OOOOOH and if you are in the mood for an appetizer they have one of the best artichoke dips in Lawrence, hands down!! My fiance and I went there for a family celebration after our engagement and they treated us with a delicious chocolate cake! Way overdue for an update of this family favorite that has really seen a resurgence to their original greatness. It is very rare for locally owned and operated to maintain a level of service and fare for as long as they have here at 23rd Street. We thoroughly enjoyed the deconstructed chicken nachos, roasted Brussels sprouts, Buffalo chicken mac 'n cheese (the Bill Self), prime rib and Reuben sandwiches and of course their World Class fish 'n chips! Sat down almost immediately. Servers were friendly and were present often for questions, additional orders, etc. Food was alright and there were options for the whole family. Restaurant is about an hour or so from the airport. Lighting choices are fun and unique, it sets a great ambiance and atmosphere in the room. read more

Got two chicken sandwiches and pretzels. There were lots of food, the chicken sandwiches were both large in size and so were the pretzels. They tasted really good, but the hot honey chicken was almost impossible to pickup because the sandwich was double the size of the bun which is not a bad problem to have. The fries weren't bad needed a dipping sauce, the pretzels were bad the cheese sauce was very good. Tonight we visited 23rd St. Brewery, the food was delicious as always! We devoured the Grilled Salmon, The Manly Stanley and also enjoyed a couple of yummy drinks. Me The Tiramisu Martini drink and my hubby The Ol Fashioned, then we split a flight. All drinks were scrumptious especially the a tiramisu coctail. The flight was a fun tasting. Tonight Emma waited on us and did an outstanding job. When you walk in right now during Christmas it feels like COMPLETE CHRISTMAS JOY!! The place is decorated from top to bottom and looks gorgeous. Never been here before, but lots of space, lots of tables and it's clean. Super nice decorating for Valentine's Day. We're here for a bball game and my wife saw this spot on the news and wanted to come by for lunch. The drinks are tasty and the food is good. We got the pretzels for our appetizer and they were nice and hot. Then I got the classic Stromboli. Very good, AND ITS HUGE! Buttttttt, wasn't cooked enough on the inside. Not a deal breaker. It's hard to cook dough on something this size. I ate half and I'll take the other half and bake it some more. No worries. My wife got the classic flatbread and it looked big, and she liked it a lot. The current management and service here are outstanding. We are amazed by the dramatic improvements. We now go there for dinner once a week, and they pretty much know what we will order before we order. Last week they were out of the beer I wanted. The manager came to our table and said he would go to a liquor store to buy it. He did, and I was served the beer I wanted. The happy hour discounts are among the best in Lawrence. For example, the Fried Pickles and the Mediterranean Flat Bread Pizza are half price during happy hour. The New Orleans Salmon is excellent. The vegetables are always fresh as are the salads. The festive lighting in the dining room is there all year long, not just during holidays. The restaurant has many well trained servers. As a result, the service is always excellent. read more

I haven't had too many of their mixed drinks, but the ones I have ordered have been good. The service is great, and I just love the light features and details of the ceiling. Drove to Lawrence from KC this evening to meet some family who drive from Topeka for dinner. I wasn't impressed. It was decorated really cute for Christmas. And our server was super nice. But the food was very overpriced and not very good. I got a burger ordered medium well and it was medium rare at best. It was pretty bland too. And $17! I can get a way better burger for half the price from so many other places. One relative liked their food and the other one only ate a few small bites because it wasn't good. 23rd street used to be good. And affordable. Now it is neither of those things. The two stars are for the server. If I was basing this just on the food, it would be none, unfortunately. read more

We just completed our third visit to this establishment. As soon as you walk in, the place makes you feel happy. The food is fantastic. The craft beer is top notch. Pricing is very good. Happy hour is the best we have ever run across. The service is extremely attentive. We have to give a huge shout out to our server," BELLA BALL" over our past two visits. We had a party of 18 for a graduation celebration and I made a reservation a few weeks ago. We were seated promptly. Our server (I didn't catch her name) was excellent and just attentive enough. It's very done up for the holidays! The food was just incredible. People want to look and the prices and walk away but let me tell you. The portions were GINORMOUS and worth every penny. The chicken Parmesan I ordered had a whopping 3 chicken cutlets. We had everything from Cajun pasta to Mac and cheese to Alfredo to fried chicken Cobb salad to a burger and a steak and taco salad. Had an amazing time with a party of 10 for my sons 21st surprise birthday. Staff and management were amazing with their service and even allowed us to bring in our own ice cream Bday cake. Food: the entire plate was filled with sauce, extending nearly to the edges. The sauce was for the entrée, not the sides, etc. Beware, if a menu item includes sauce. The food itself was ok. Beer/brewery: staff were not able to answer any of my questions about the brewery. The beer is pretty lackluster. Beer geeks, look elsewhere; staff are poorly trained, and while the beer menu is decent, I would not want to buy any of them again. The place reminds me of a cross between an Applebees and a sub-par brewery. There are much better brewery options in the area. read more

We have been here several times over the years, started out as a 5 star, went down to a 4 star, but from my last visit, back at the 5 star! The Stromboli is amazing, as well as the Cajun pasta, and the salmon and pasta. Service has been good to great. A little high in price, but the portion size is worth it. Love the atmosphere here. Great place to grab a beer and watch some Sunday football. Service is amazing too, and food is perfect. My go to is the chicken Caesar wrap and some fries. I've always loved going to this brewery in Lawrence! It isn't on the main roads in Lawrence so you don't have to fight very much traffic, and there is always a parking spot available. The food is all yummy! Some things are a little bit pricey but definitely comparable to other businesses. The turkey bacon calzone is now my go-to meal! It is a large portion of food and reheats very well in the air fryer for leftovers. The jalapeño aoli is a little spicy but adds the perfect kick of extra flavor to the meal. The raspberry wheat beer is not overly flavored, which allows you to enjoy the wheat with a hint of flavor. This is one of my overall favorite beers because the flavoring doesn't taste like syrup and isn't overpowering. read more
