This is a great neighborhood bar!! It opened recently and right across the street from our apartment, lucky for us. They have one of the largest selections of beer on tap and a large menu to match. The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable. They have Happy Hour daily and Sunday All Day, with $1. off beer and appetizers. My husband and I have been in twice already and sampled some beers and food, everything was delicious and the service excellent. We've enjoyed the following menu items: Jalapeño Poppers, Cranberry Walnut Salad, Kentucky Bourbon Clasic Hamburger, French Fries and Onion Rings!! I love this place and its unique menu. Have ordered here several times. Has a nice low key vibe and lots of seating. Staff is always incredibly friendly. However.... The side of coleslaw portion is ridiculous. I ordered 4 burgers with 4 sides and a basket of onion rings. I was told 15 minutes . I called at 6:32pm and i just received my order at 7:17 pm. My "basket" of onion rings was not in the order so waited extra time and I have attached a photo. Basically it was $1 an onion ring. Great atmosphere went on happy hour Wednesday from 3 to 6. The discounts were crazy, three dollars off appetizers selected, One dollar off of specialty drinks, $.75 wings. Plus I had a 25% off any entrée coupon. What a blessing to receive so much amazing food and service by Dakota. Food was hot and fresh atmosphere was awesome she worked them tables OK. Always looking for a good burger and Mr. Brews didn't disappoint. The Kentucky Bourbon Classic was very good. The Bourbon mayo was tangy and sweet. The grilled onions were plentiful and the crispy fried onions was different but added nice texture. The sea salt fried were crispy and hot which is always a plus! read more

In the mood for a solid burger? I would recommend the taphouse! To equate the burger to another Lawrence favorite, expect a burger like one from Johnny's. The meat was cooked well, yet tender and flavorful. I loved the toasted and golden brown bun (that held up well through my drive from picking it up to eating it at home). I opted for the Cajun burger with garlic parmesan fries. If you want spice, add the jalapeños to the burger, otherwise I didn't get much kick out of it. It tasted like a regular, yummy cheeseburger. I would opt for the regular fries instead of the garlic parmesan fries next time. Instead of actual parmesan or a special sauce on them, they were totally dusted in a salty/garlicky powder. They gave me plenty of ketchup which helped cut down on the saltiness. Ordering online was really quick and easy. My food was ready in under 10 minutes and waiting for me at the counter. Based on my quick look inside, it would be a fun place to eat at on a normal non-COVID world. They have lots of free beer swag like coozies, bottle openers, and coasters at the register. read more

Atrocious. I went here regularly for their manager, Aline, who is an amazing, hard working, and under-appreciated employee who should absolutely leave the establishment ... she was pretty much the only reason I went. This restaurant turns their staff over bi-weekly because they're continuously getting drunk behind the bar - including the owner - who takes at least three shots of Jameson before he gets behind the wheel every night. They don't pre-bus - let alone bus - their tables after customers have left, and they kick you out for being queer and defending yourself against people who accuse you of being a "confederate sympathizer" simply because you're white and call them out. The food is average, the menu is limited, and the wait staff is SHIT. I've been asked by their alleged "bartenders" multiple times to step behind the bar and make drinks for them, I've also helped them bus their tables and roll their silverware of my own fruition to be nice, because their employees are too busy texting and getting hammered/vaping/doing shrooms to do any of this themselves. I also bought one of their employees $100 worth of baby gifts for her child, and she's the one that text me and told me I wasn't welcome anymore, allegedly for taking a phone call from my father ... less than a week after I mentioned being genderfluid. Not a coincidence, because I've never been in a restaurant that doesn't allow customers to take phone calls. We sat outside on a nice day after hiking in the Superstition Mountains. Waitress was great and attentive. Everyone really enjoyed our food. The appetizer chips were not my favorite, but the burgers were excellent! Beer menu was extensive, even had fun beers from East coast small breweries. I recommend for anyone in the area. read more

They offered pretzels with beer cheese, fried cheese curds, chicken tenders, macaroni and cheese, etc that she tends to order regularly. We ordered the pretzels, cheese curds, chicken tenders, buffalo wings, a bourbon burger, and a basket of the "secret cut" fries. Love this place. Surprisingly good burgers! We've eaten here at least 5 times and I've made my way around their menu.

This is a tough place to review. Though their menu is limited, some of the items on the menu are quite good (the burgers and the fried chicken sandwich), but others hare perfunctory at best. The biggest issue is how the place operates, or at many levels does not. There has been a huge turnover of staff for some time. Some staff have stuck long term, but there is an overall lack of training and thus service is often spotty at best. Tables do not get bused or properly cleaned, staff does not often do a good job of touching tables, and while the long term employees can be friendly, the experience is often less than can be desired. So, when considering Mr. Brew's decisions must be made and you must ask yourself what is important. Do I want a good burger or chicken sandwich? Then that leans to a strong yes. However, if you want something a bit more inspired regarding other options or sides, then you will be less than impressed. If you want good customer service that you would expect at any restaurant with table service, then Mr. Brew's would definitely would not be a place that would rank anywhere on my dining options list. read more
