Grabbing lunch while in town decided to give this place a try. Guy at the register recommended the bbq chicken wrap so i went with it. Got it on flour tortilla and it wasn't bad. The vegs were nice and fresh, the bacon was slightly on the non-crisp side and the bbq sauce was a little sweet but it all went together well. Next visit I'll go with something that has heat to it. I came here around 8:15pm on a Friday with my so . I got a buffalo chicken wrap and he got a kid's chicken wrap with chips and a chocolate milk. I like the setup. Although, it was rather echo-y and, since there were hardly any others in there, it felt very weird. The person working the register didn't seem like they liked their job very much. This restaurant, located next to the upscale Six Mile Chop House, specializes in tacos.  While the restaurant has many features in common with fast food restaurants, the menu includes many options and also offers wine and beer.  The small bottles of wine are single serve size, so if your preference is two glasses of wine with dinner, then you should buy two of the small bottles. Each of the tacos on the menu are available in seven versions, with three tacos or their equivalent per order.  The tacos can be in the traditional crunchy corn shells, in soft flour tortillas, or in both (soft flour tortillas over the crunchy corn shells).  But they also are available in a bowl without tortillas or in a quinoa bowl without tortillas. Alternatively you can have the ingredients wrapped as a burrito in either a flour tortilla or a  whole wheat tortilla.  We tried them with only the crunchy corn  shells, or only the soft flour tortillas.  We also tried a bowl.  Next time, we will try a burrito and a quinoa bowl. The reviews report very favorably about the Mahi-Mahi tacos, but we much preferred the shrimp tacos.  The restaurant seems to be very popular for takeout.  As a result, there often are very few people in the dine-in area.  That was fine with us, especially during the pandemic.  They do not have table service for dine-in.  You order at the counter.  When your order is ready, they call your name.  You then return to the counter to pick up your order and bring it to your table.  If you prefer more upscale table-service dining and are willing to pay for it, you need only go next door to the Six Mile Chop House. read more

Really awesome Mahi Mahi tacos! Ingredients are fresh, with lots of great flavor. Not your basic 4-ingredient tacos. I was also pleasantly-surprised that each taco has both a crunchy and a soft shell with a layer of melted cheese in between. You can add a fourth taco for an extra dollar, so I did that--although I probably only needed three tacos for a solid lunch. The dining room is deceptively large and kept pretty clean. I'm glad to have discovered this (mostly) healthy option on the west side of Lawrence. I'll definitely be back in the future to try more tacos. read more

Yum, yum, yum! I had resisted trying this restaurant because I thought it was just another yuppy eatery. I thought it was going to be some fancy smancy restaurant but I was mistaken. This is a fabulous place. Twisted has a great variety of food and made to order. I tried the seasoned beef tacos and they were delicious. The portion size was huge and you could see them prepare the food right before your eyes. The end result was just a *POW* taste of freshness with just the right taste combination. Sooo delicious! My friend let me sample some of her chicken gyros and it was just as yummy as the tacos. Fresh, quality ingredients and just amazingly tasty. I am so glad I finally decided to eat at this restaurant. This is not a fancy place. It is fairly simple and the menu is limited. The menu is not pages long but all they offer is top quality. I am interested in going back to try more of their offerings. Twisted Fresh was easy to access and there is a private parking lot in the strip mall where it is located. The staff was all very friendly and helpful. Per usual, I had a thousand questions about the food. They were patient and kind. The prices were very affordable and you got plenty of food in your order. Highly recommended eatery! read more

OK, it's been stated before that I'm not a fan of downtown Lawrence. I have nothing against it it's just not my kind of vibe. I'm a private kind of person and it's just too many people that hang out down there. So whenever I choose to try a new food in that area, are usually order through DoorDash so I don't have to deal with parking and large crowds. Today I really wanted something different. I didn't want the traditional Mexican, chicken, burgers, pizza I just wanted a different taste. I was Perusing through the door Dash app and came across this place. When I saw where it was located I decided that I would just order through door dash and not make the attempt to go downtown. I ordered the Gyro wrap, broccoli salad and a specialty cookie. Now I have had Greek cuisine before, So my expectations were pretty high for the Gyro wrap. The broccoli salad first of all was very small. I don't think I've ever had a salad that small before however it was refreshing because it was fresh vegetables but it needed some moisture. It needed a dash of vinaigrette or some type of dressing because although it was good it tasted like bushels of broccoli in a bowl. The specialty cookies kind of had me stumped because you didn't know what kind of cookie it was. When I order some thing I kind a like to have an idea of what it is I'm just calling it "specialty " really left me scratching my head but I ordered it anyway. DoorDash did a wonderful job and delivered everything quickly and timely and I must say I was impressed with the Gyro. It was hot it was fresh and most of all it was plentiful. They did not skip on the ingredients I enjoyed it very well. Unfortunately the specialty cookies lost me. It had the look of a sugar cookie but it had no flavor at all and if you ask me right now what kind of cookie it was I still can't tell you except it was their specialty to which I don't know what that is. But the flavorless cookie did not kill my peak romance for this place and I will definitely be back to try different fresh twists. I think next time I order a cookie though I think I'll go with the chocolate chip because at least I know what to expect when I bite into it. read more

First try, great results. Is now on our lunch spot list. Got a chicken gyro wrap with a side of street corn and Mahi-Mahi tacos for pick up. Very pleased with how well they were seasoned. The tacos had Cajun seasoning which was just enough to be spicy without being overly so. Lots of toppings - the tacos were very full. We did the double shell, which helped hold the tacos together while giving the great combination of corn and flour tortillas. A side of habanero sauce went really nice with the tacos. The gyro wrap was flavorful and full - lots of chicken and feta, did not feel skimpy. Online ordering was easy. With the road conditions, I got there 15 minutes after placing my order and it was ready to go. Location is spacious, so would feel safe eating there right now. read more

This was such a great place to eat! It's very simple, you go up to the counter and order what you want. But all the ingredients were so fresh and the portions were great sizes! Utterly disappointed. So I ordered the Buffalo chicken wrap, potato salad, mac n cheese, snickerdoodle cookie, chocolate chip cookie, and brownies. They were all disappointing. The only thing that I could taste from the chicken wrap was the Buffalo sauce, it doesn't particularly taste bad, but it was way overpowering that I literally couldn't taste anything else in the sandwich.
