Lulu's has very good food. It is always crowded and it's a small restaurant. During the summer and spring there is outdoor seating. There are many food items to choose from on the menu. All the ones I have tried have been very good. The portions are decent and the prices are reasonable. The restaurant is located in a strip mall and there is easy access. Again, the restaurant is very small so it tends to get crowded. I noticed a significant portion of their sakes was done from pickup. The staff is very nice and helpful. This is the second time we have tried Lulus. Both times we thought it would be better based on the reviews. There are a few better places in Town I would say are better. Pork both times tasted "porky" and older. Biria tacos were fatty and meat to cheese ratio was off. read more

We found a couple we liked, but nothing really hit until we found Lu Lu's a few months later, when they opened. This is the one. The place is small and it's always busy. Wow excellent delicious food. They serve $5 lime margaritas All day and 7 days a week. They also have margaritas excellent drink menus. They serve free chips and salsa. My wife asked for a taco salad minus the tortilla shell and was given a cabbage shell instead. She said it was the best salad in Lawrence. She eats allot of salads around Lawrence. Found this spot when our first pick was closed. A great find! Food was really good! Interesting- not just standard Mexican food menu- The woman who waited on us was very friendly and answered questions easily. The portions of what we ordered were very generous. Stopped into Lulu's Latin food for lunch not really knowing what to expect. The restaurant is located in a strip center and limited seating, but it's worth a visit! The chips and salsa are amazing. The salsa has a little smokiness to it and the perfect spice for the whole family. I tried the organica margarita and it was so good! For lunch we had the mole lover and the chile relleno. This wonderful new Mexican restaurant had only been open for two weeks, when we tried it. The restaurant's opening was so successful that it's small dining room already was too small. It contains four booths, two tables, and one unisex bathroom. We arrived for dinner at 4 pm on a Friday. We chose a booth. By 4:30 pm, all of the booths were taken. By 4:45 pm, no seating was left in the restaurants, and people were waiting for tables. We got the shrimp ceviche and the chili rellenos. Both were excellent. We also got a Martini and a Mexican beer. The entrees come with beans and rice, but you can substitute other sides for them, such as guacamole or avocado slices. The chips are excellent: thick and not greasy. They have vegetarian black beans. Although they have many choices of cocktails and beers, they oddly have no wine. Perhaps that will change in the future. We noticed there seems to be an available, unused store next door in the same strip mall. Hopefully this restaurant will expand into that space, since the current dining room is too small for such an excellent Mexican restaurant. read more

Very good! I've tried a few Mexican places in LFK since moving here, and this is definitely the best so far. Chips and salsa are good, service is great, and food is authentic and delicious. I ordered the quesabirria which I'd never had before, and the little tacos are served with a dip that's similar to au jus. The flan was also awesome. Bf really liked his chicken mole as well.
