The food was bland and the drinks weren't made with the ingredients on the0 menu. I also ordered a mango mule which had someone's mint in the Bottom of the glass. It was disgusting and horrifying. We've tried almost every place in downtown Campbell but hadn't eaten at this spot before until recently. They have indoor and patio seating. I would say eating out on the patio we were largely ignored and it took forever to get anything we needed. Started with the WH Iron Skillet CornBread which sounded so interesting but was too dry. Would not recommend. The Chopped Salad was pretty good/average. I did enjoy the cornbread croutons. Their sides to share are a pretty good deal though- the portions for $10-12 were very large. The side Green Beans and the side Sizzling Shrooms were both well flavored. They have a kids menu but messed up and gave us the wrong dish- which was fine since they comped it. I brought my mom here for Mother's Day. It'd been years since the last time I ate here and when I did I LOVED IT. So we were going to be in the area and decided to take her there. I guess my 3 star rating, wish I think is fair, is my steak was cooked medium well instead of medium rare, they were more than willing on bringing me a new one, it was way undercooked. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit here. The steaks have that wood fire smell. I ordered a signature steak with peppercorn sauce and my son a new york strip that was not a signature steak. The drinks were great. Our server Mary was knowledgeable on all the bibations -- especially the IPAs -- which is pretty rare at these type of non- brewery restaurants. We also had the calamari steaks. I was hesitant because of a chewy experience at a different establishment. These were tender and non greasy. A new love! The price for what you get is really good for the silicon valley. We got a table near the door so was a bit chilly but the waitress was very seeet enough to keep shutting the doors as folks came in and out. The place was pretty packed for a Tuesday evening but I guess it was the holiday weekday. For mains, my husband ordered the NY strip with spicy sauce. He really enjoyed his meal. Went on 2/20/26 for dinner. Service was very slow. Lady friend was talked into ordering lobster. 35 minutes later it arrived undercooked. Pale gray color and very tough. Unable to cut with fork. My salmon was good, but mashed potatoes were luke warn/cold. Lots of conversation noise from bar area made hearing across the table difficult.. Carrot cake desert was good. One of the worst dining experiences I've ever had. I understand it was Valentine's Day, with that said, we opted for the "Valentine's Experience" dinner which came with a choice of soup or salad, an appetizer, entree, dessert and a complimentary glass of champagne. We waited 20 minutes for our waitress to acknowledge our table and order a cocktail. And 20 minutes more to get them. We ordered our meal preferences at the same time. I ordered the New York strip and my wife got the surf and turf ( filet and lobster tail) The soup arrived but had to ask for a spoon. Waited for our appetizers (scallops) that never came. The next thing you know our entrees showed up. Neither of us were given a steak knife until we asked. I had to ask for butter for my wife's lobster and they brought a couple of "pats" like you would spread on a piece of bread. When I mentioned the glass of complimentary champagne, the waitress replied "yes, but you need to ask for it" WTF? Then the desert came and the conversation turned to our missing scallops. They packaged them to-go. When we got home, I took them out of the bag and looked at them. It appeared that the kitchen had taken whole scallops and sliced them in half. They were very thin, 1/2 inch thick at most, causing me to speculate if the kitchen had run low on food. I have worked in an upscale steak house before and I would be embarrassed to have provided this type of service for the price. The bill was over $300 for two of us. read more

I come to Willard Hicks all the time and I'm usually very impressed with the food and service. I usually come in the evening and have never had an issue. However today I brought my girlfriend in for lunch and what a disappointment. The drinks were highly disappointing; manhattan was not balanced in the slightest and the French 75 was incredibly acidic(so much that I wondered if the lemon juice was bad. The bartender claimed it was juiced this morning). The shrimp tacos looked and tasted like leftovers, onion strings were soggy and limp, definitely world's different from the night before. The Asian salad with steak was sent back because of the raw and unflavored steak. All in all we won't be coming back in the daytime. I don't believe they have any business charging that much for what they serve. My bone in ribeye, Brussel sprouts, and mashed potatoes all absolutely lacked in flavor even with the peppercorn sauce they gave me. And the side of mash was like another $18 on top of the $78 for the steak and Brussels. My dinner with tip was $120... which if tasted like $120 I wouldn't complain. But I would have been satisfied paying $40 for below average tasting steak, Brussels, and mashed potatoes. If you feel you need to be pretentious and be in a bougie atmosphere, excellent spot. We were greeted by a very pleasant server, David, who immediately acknowledged the celebratory reason we were going out this evening. I appreciated that as often times that is not mentioned, even though I make a note of it in the reservation. He was excellent, made great suggestions, and took care of our every need. He was very attentive but not overly so. The food was excellent, cooked to perfection, and beautifully presented. We were surprised after we finished our dinner that David presented us with a cookie on which he had written "congratulations" in confectioners sugar. It was a very classy touch which we appreciated. However, we were able to return for a replacement. Honestly, I would give this place more stars if the steaks were consistent, but it wasn't most times we visited. Our waiter was very accommodating and nice. It gets busy there, so I do understand why he's gone for a longer period of time and couldn't check on us as often. We pretty much had to waving him down a few times, over all he still took our food orders correctly with a great welcoming personality. Love that! I've been coming here for a decade but my last experience was disappointing. We've always been impressed and have frequently brought out of town guests here. We had a 8:45 reservation on a Saturday night. The best description I can give is diner service with steakhouse prices. Our server seemed annoyed from the moment we sat down. Never bothered to introduce herself and instead greeted us with a "do you know what you want?" It only got worse from there. Food was mediocre and surprisingly flavorless compared to previous visits. The server also disappeared for long stretches of time. We asked for the check and some boxes when she finally came back. She returned with boxes which she threw on the table and no check. IMHO I really wanted to like this place. Unfortunately, it was just "okay". Our party of four were seated in a comfy booth. The ambiance and decor were quite welcoming and cozy. Wait staff was friendly and genuine. The best part of our experience here was our fantastic server, Anastasia! She gets 5 stars just for her personality and customer service! Willard Hicks is known for their grilled steaks. They are expensive. Your entree price is mainly for the steak, but you do get one side of your choice. If you want extra sides, they are $9 each. In addition to ordering some cocktails and one mocktail, our party of four ordered Coconut Shrimp ($18) and Baked Brie ($16) for appetizers, 3 entrees (Filet Mignon, 8 oz. $54, Bone-in Rib Eye, 18 oz. $62, and Risotto w/three pan roasted scallops, $38, an extra side of green beans, $9, and a wedge salad, $14. I had high hopes for the coconut shrimp, but they looked slightly burned and tasted overcooked and slightly tough, and the sauce was more savory than sweet. My first immediate thought was that Costco's Coconut Shrimp were far superior to Willard Hicks. I was very disappointed. The baked brie appetizer was another disappointment. The crostini bread was so hard (almost stale) that it totally broke apart while trying to spread the brie. The baked garlic cloves were not fully cooked and hard. They should've been "schmeary" and soft-spreadable. Sigh... I wish I could say that something tasted notable, but sadly that just wasn't the case. Nothing stood out flavor-wise. My husband's rib-eye was just okay. I wanted melt-in-your mouth yumminess. Nope. Our loaded baked potato wasn't soft and creamy. I had to use a knife to break it down to get a manageable bite. My wedge salad was probably the best part of my meal. The iceberg was cool and crunchy, and the bleu cheese dressing was runny and cheesy. Dessert was an affogato, $8, and the butter cake, $12. Will I return? Probably not. For the amount of money we paid, I wanted a "flavor bang-for-my-buck" experience. We didn't get it. My parents love this place, and they took me there for the first time. I thought it was pretty gross. I got the baby back ribs, which were incredibly fatty and salty. Perhaps a bit too much BBQ sauce. And the mashed potatoes are good too. I'm going to say the ribeye steak is just so so. Honestly kind of bland and needs seasoning or at least salt. Let me start by saying: these 5 stars are entirely for Jose. If it weren't for him, this would have been a 1- or 2-star review at most. When we were first seated, we waited quite a while without anyone acknowledging us--no greeting, no water, nothing. It wasn't until Jose, who seemed to be a busser and not a server, noticed us and stepped in that things finally started moving. He found our waitress so we could place our order, and from there, he took it upon himself to ensure we were taken care of. Jose consistently checked on us, brought refills without us needing to ask, and made sure we had everything we needed. He kept an eye on our table and was more attentive than our actual server, who only came by three times: to take the order, check in once, and drop off the bill. Honestly, the only reason we left a tip was because of Jose. As for the food--there's definitely room for improvement. The steak was cooked well, tender and flavorful, but the sauce that came with it didn't do it justice and felt like an afterthought. On the other hand, the ribs had great sauce but were noticeably dry. The flavors were there, but the execution needs work to bring it all together. That said, the ambiance was overall very nice--comfortable, inviting, and well put together. It had the potential to offer a great dining experience, but the uneven service and food quality held it back. Jose was the highlight of the entire visit. Management should not only recognize him, but also take a closer look at consistency in both service and food quality. We had reservations for 7:30pm on a Friday and although we were removed from the waitlist because we arrived outside of the grace period window, they were still able to accomodate us very quickly. Our server overheard us saying we were celebrating w friend's birthday, and knew we wanted to keep it discreet, but still brought over a small birthday dessert to finish off our meal. As for our meal, we got fries and coconut shrimp to share. The fries were thick!! Think yucca fries, but potato. They had a nice cajun seasoning on it too, so yummy. None of us were fans of the coconut shrimp, but it's a very popular dish so it just came down to preference - we're clearly not shrimp girlies.
