This place is a solid four stars, but only earned three. I have been here numerous times over the years, but it has been a long time. Years ago, they had a sushi appetizer that frankly was the best sushi roll I've had anywhere. We ordered two rum runners and the pork belly appetizer. The drinks are normally really good. I think the now use a subpar rum. Pork belly was fantastic! We ordered the bone in ribeye and bake potato with crack bacon. Fantastic! The reason they lost a star was that the host tried to put us in the front area by the bar where they stick you when you don't have reservations. We had reservations! When asking for the side area, he said they were reserved!!! I was befuddled. Another gentleman came up and said the area was reserved for 6 PM... it was 4:30! He seated us then said they normally use those tables for three or more. Hmmm. Management really needs to think about how their host/hostess handle customers as this really impacted my experience. read more

Delish! I really like the vibe and ambiance here. A nice enough steakhouse that can be saved for special occasions, yet remains affordable. Great service and I can't believe there's no corkage fee for your first bottle, that's unheard of these days! Come here like once every six weeks. Place is very hit and miss. Have had wrong and cold food multiple times. Or food came out slowwwww. Tonight however was an exceptional night. Our server Claire was very Personable took great care of us. The food came out fast and hot with no mistakes. Our water glasses glasses always full! Open for outdoor dining, during covid! Tables are well spread apart. You can book a reservation on open table. For appetizers, my husband and I tried the cornbread and the crabcakes. The cornbread was really interesting, definitely not your traditional style! It was a mix of sweet and spicy, coming from the honey and the jalapeño flavors. It was pretty moist. I'm glad I tried it but it wasn't exactly my cup of tea so I don't think I'd order it again lol. The crabcakes themselves weren't the best we've had, but they are decent and served with this delicious aïoli that we were scraping the plate for . For entrées, we ordered the scallop risotto and the filet mignon. The scallop risotto was outstanding! The risotto was creamy and had these awesome other textures coming from the crunch of the seeds. The scallops were cooked perfectly. Huge fan of this dish! This is not a place I would have expected to find an amazing burger, much less an amazing burger at a reasonable price. The first and third times I visited, I had the blackberry glazed filet, but the second time, I was looking to spend a bit less and decided to brave the burger. "NOW THIS IS A STEAK BURGER-A one pound patty of the finest 100% certified Angus beef, fresh toasted brioche bun, bacon, Swiss cheese, onion strings, roasted sweet peppers, horseradish aioli and spicy sriracha ketchup. Served with our house cut fries." I've been looking for a destination burger since Nom Burger closed earlier this year, and this, my friends, is it. And it's only $22 with fries, or as they should be called, potato planks. I brought half home for the little one too. Other than saying it's an amazing and formidable burger, I'll let the photos speak for themselves. My daughter and I came here tonight for dinner to celebrate my 70th birthday. It was busy due to the fact that it was Valentine's Day weekend so it was very crowded and noisy. There were a few snafus in the beginning (like we did not get the table we had requested when we made the reservation) so I was debating about either going elsewhere or just getting take out. When our waiter, David, showed up, he had such positive energy that we decided to stay. My daughter told him it was my 70th birthday and he made it a point to make sure that we were taken care of the whole evening. He kept checking on us to make sure we had enough water and that everything was satisfactory. I had the mac n cheese and it was delicious. We also had the pesto cheesy bread and the baked brie as appetizers and they were great as well. My daughter had the pappardelle pasta dish which she said was so delicious that she would want to work there just to eat that meal every day. By the way, the music the DJ was playing was definitely on point as well...Sade, Isley Brothers, etc. which created a very positive vibe in the place. For dessert, David brought me a complimentary warm chocolate chip cookie with ice cream and a lit candle. He and a couple of the other staff members sang happy birthday to me which was nice. This is now my favorite Campbell restaurant and I want to thank David for helping to make my birthday memorable. I will definitely be back very soon. read more

Had a reservation for my fiancé's birthday dinner here. We checked in and we were told there was a wait, which was no problem since it was a Friday night. They ended up sitting us 10 minutes after our reservation. We watched them pull a table from the back and put it into the middle of the restaurant which we thought was weird for a reservation (I also said it was his birthday!) when we got home I got an email from open table saying "sorry we missed you". So the hostess didn't properly check us in which is why we ended up with a crappy wobbling table. Not the vibe I was going for to celebrate a birthday! For an appetizer we ordered the poblano cornbread which was delicious! I would say it could feed a table of 4 easily. We took half home. The hotter flavors from the peppers mixed so well with the honey drizzled on top. For the actual dinner, we both weren't too hungry so we charged the burger. This was the BIGGEST burger I've ever seen. It was cooked perfectly and the onions and peppers paired nicely with the meat. The portions here are big FYI. I give this place a 3 stars because the food is good but the service is not so great. This restaurant in downtown Campbell has a very cool vibe. The menu looks great but the results are uneven. Had a nice server but apologizing for items not available on the menu is not a good look and frankly foreboding of what was to come. First the drinks- super limited beers on tap. Ran out of IPAs, ordered a margarita and it was ordinary at best. They ran out of short ribs and their fish tacos were pretty bad hidden in a fluff of fried string onions. The burger was huge and truly the biggest burger I have ever seen. It tasted pretty good too. The meat is pretty good overall. The steak salad looked amazing. The kids menu is adequate with Mac and cheese and other kid tested fare. The three kids with us were happy. I had scallops and risotto. It was good but not spectacular. Walking in the restaurant during lunch was empty, with only a few patrons. It did take a while before I walked to my seat at the bar. The place's ambiance has changed since I went there a while ago. The last time I did opt for their steak, it was correctly seasoned. This time I opted for their soup of the day and the Stroganoff. I would say that the French Onion soup is proper with deep umami and cheesy goodness. The Stroganoff is odd. The glaze surrounding the dish turns it into a dessert. The braised beef is cooked very well, but it is very bland, unfortunately. It is devoid of any salt or seasoning. What happened to this place?! Pre-pandemic I would have given Willard Hicks an easy 5 stars and now 1. The last time we came here for a date night it seemed like things had fallen apart. The service was slow and inattentive, the food quality was poor, our cocktail glasses were not full and management was unresponsive when we tried to file a formal complaint. I made a reservation for an outdoor table on a busy Friday night. We arrived within the 15 minute reservation window. The hostess seated a couple at an outdoor table who didn't have a reservation. Where did we get seated? Inside! When I specifically made a reservation for an outdoor table. Mind you, this was fall of 2020 before there was a vaccine and I was uncomfortable dining inside at the time. The hostess gave my reserved outdoor table to a couple who didn't have a reservation but arrived a few minutes before us. Not a good start to the evening. We were reluctantly seated inside. They spaced parties out but I still felt uncomfortable because the restaurant doesn't have the best ventilation, no big windows that can open to the outside. We waited 15 minutes before anyone acknowledged us and asked if we wanted water. A bus boy who was in the middle of clearing tables asked if we wanted water. He was probably the most attentive person working at this place. We then waited another 20 minutes for a waiter to take our order for drinks and appetizers. Our drinks arrived and my partner's old fashion was only filled half way. The salad we ordered as a starter never came. It then took another 15 minutes for our waiter to come back to take our order for entrees. At this point, we didn't even want to order a big entree and just wanted to get out of there. We ordered two appetizers as entrees. The crab cakes were undercooked and might have made us sick later that evening, although hard to tell. The pork belly wasn't great either. Overcooked and chewy. We had a terrible time and were extremely disappointed. This was such a great spot for a date night pre-pandemic with great food, service, drinks and a romantic atmosphere. I can't say the same about any of those things since the pandemic started. We were so disappointed about our experience that we wrote an email to management describing our evening. No response. The chopped salad was mostly the inner yellow/clear core lettuce pieces. It was as if they ran out of salad ingredients and I got what was left on the cutting board. This place has been my go-to spot Friday evening. I love the atmosphere and I love the service. Reservations recommended! One evening I picked Gavin up from the sitter and started heading home, Gavin said he wanted to get dressed up and go to dinner. Yelp came to help narrow down the choices again! We came and had to pick a vacant spot at the communal table... it wasn't the greatest dining experience but the music, the service, and the food made up for all of that. The following Friday I made reservations. This time I had Tess. It was my 2nd time ordering filet mignon (1st time was al la carte and the 2nd time was their signature dish) and both times were great. We enjoyed everything we ordered.. It was crispy and the balsamic was nice edition which gave it a salty taste. Pancetta Mac & cheese: I can eat this all day. Was a perfect side dish with the ribeye. I loved the Panco breadcrumbs on top. 5/5 Baked Brie: This is a great starter. If you love cheese then this dish will leave you satisfied. RACIST- we're an asian couple, the hostess and manager were both white. Neither greeted us, we had to ask if we could be seated. They didnt ask if we wanted to sit inside or out, ask us how we were doing, or tell us if they were finding us a table. Willard Hicks quality has gone WAY downhill: Brussel sprouts with truffle and brown sugar: sounds amazing, right? But no, the Brussel sprouts were basically boiled and then tossed with brown sugar and truffle. It's like how your mom used to make Brussels when you were young, no flavor and gross texture. Coconut curry shrimp: it was so over cooked that the texture was chewy. And the curry sauce was sour, not appetizing at all. Warm milk and cookies for dessert: the cookies were stone cold and not warm at all. We had to break off pieces. Honestly for $120, expected way better quality! Pretty disappointed and I rarely ever give negative reviews unless it's outright robbery. read more

Had an amazing dinner here last Saturday. We ordered a variety of things to share and then everyone also ordered their own plates. It was the first time I dined indoors since covid started. They were very safe and told us to keep our masks on when we're not eating or drinking. Campbell was poppin off that night so it was good to know these restaurants still cared about safety. I would recommend making a reservation prior and you can do it directly online which is nice. Apps - definitely get their cheesy pesto bread to share - skip the charcuterie board. The bread wasn't toasted, the way they organize their board wasn't done right so you couldn't reach the bottom layer of cheese or meat - ahi tacos were good but the tortillas provided were so small so it was very hard to eat - crab cakes were good! Lots and lots of crab meat Nice drink selection as well. The mezcal bacon cocktail was not the best. I love mezcal and Smokey cocktails but this one tasted a little like bacon washed water. The bacon in the drink was also unappetizing cuz it was not crispy enough and just very mushy. Everyone else said their main dishes were amazing (for the most part)! I have to give low rating for this restaurant as I have a high expectation for a highly Yelp reviewed restaurant in Campbell. In order to support local restaurants, we decided to order the NYE dinner package from Willard Hicks. After placing the order online, the instruction said that the restaurant will call and get the information by Dec 27th. We never received a phone call so I decided to call them, the lady who pick up the call is very rude when taking the credit card information. We went and picked up our order on the 31st in the afternoon. I waited in the car in front of the restaurant and my husband came back in a really bad mood. He said the lady who is in charge of picking up our food was very unpleasant; it seems like she was having a bad day and purposely irritating customers. When he tried to pick up our order, my husband said she start cursing to him in a different language, and then she directly ask my husband for a tip. My husband then told her that there won't be any tip with her being that rude. I look at the receipt her name is Ma***ella. We came home and eat the package for dinner, the portion is great, the prime rib was juicy however they taste pretty bland. I've had dinner at this restaurant prior to covid and the food was great and we have no problem with their service though. Definitely not coming back to this restaurant post COVID. read more

The street tacos have no sauce. It was dry meat, tortilla, and way too much fried onion. The cornbread was extremely sweet with chili's. Like what? The coconut crusted shrimp was bland. It needed salt. The Caesar salad tasted great but came with a bunch of cloves of garlic and uncut pieces of lettuce. The crouton was a giant piece of bread and very plain. The dressing made it taste amazing but I hated that I had to cut every piece of lettuce and take out the garlic and pick up the crouton to eat it. I should be able to get a piece of each component in each bite. The filet mignon had an extremely sweet blackberry glaze. I ordered a rare steak and they gave me WELL DONE. Extremely disappointed. The pancetta mac and cheese tasted like Kraft- so bland. I had to ask for a side of salt so I could eat it. The sautéed brussel sprouts were SO extremely sweet. It was disgusting. The mushrooms were okay. The creme brûlée tasted way too eggy and the top tasted too burnt. Overall, the only good dish was the Caesar salad. Everything else was mediocre. I'll start out by saying I am vegetarian so this would never be my first choice, I came here with some work colleagues. However, of the items I did get, I was pretty satisfied! I started out with the tea cooler drink which was fantastic and very refreshing! We then ordered some appetizers including the cornbread and the fries. The fries are thick and crispy but nothing super unique however that honey poblano cornbread is amazing! Sweet yet spicy and so fluffy, 10/10 would get again. For my main I ordered the vegetarian version of the pappardelle and wow, this was a surprise! So creamy and flavorful and that balsamic glaze was the icing on the cake. I also ordered a side of Brussel sprouts, these were ok, a tad sweet in my opinion and could've been crispier. We've been here a few other times before and the food was decent. The burger is to die for! I'd say it's the best thing, or rather was the best. The past two times we ordered the "sizzling" mushrooms, they came out Luke warm and the cast iron pan was not hot at all. This last time my burger tasted like it sat under a heat lamp for a while. The fries were soggy and wilted. The parm cheese was hard and my burger was definitely not medium rare. More like well done. The outside of the burger was black, dry, and crispy. The food was just not good. I would have expected better service since we spent over $110 for 2 people. Because of this without any offer to fix things, we will not be coming back.
