The menu hasn't changed in years, but the food has. The Scallop Risotto has shrunk (big time), the Loaded Baked Potato is now dry and lacking the flavor it's had in the past, and the Caesar Salad is drenched in dressing and loaded with inedible, not quite roasted, whole garlic cloves (I counted at least 10). Tonight, we sat in possibly the worst table we've ever had for my husband's birthday, squeezed between other tables next to the DJ's area. Had the Pappardelle pasta last Friday 11/22 and the braised short rib was mostly fat with very little meat although the sauce and pasta was delicious. The house fries were good along with the service, very attentive and the ambience is nice. Perhaps WH should start adding some specials and a little updating of the decor as nothing has changed since they opened several years ago. We had a birthday reservation and we thought it was just a table but we were seated in one of the private rooms. We didn't need the private room, the tables would have sufficed but a good surprise. Service was great and attentive. We got various cocktails and two starters. The baked Brie had stale nuts. The pesto cheesy bread was good, tough to pull apart. The rib eye I got with peppercorn was delicious. The pancetta mac and cheese was a great side. It wasn't too salty and shareable. The crème brûlée was okay but I've had better. The sugar crust could have been more bruleed. The servings were sufficient and we left with some to go boxes. My rib eye was cooked well but I wasn't a fan of the peppercorn sauce. This is a nice steak house with an extensive menu. I came for a large group dinner. The baked brie appetizer was tasty. The dough was light and flaky and topped with a sweet, chunky chutney. It was served with crunchy crostini. The house cut fries were very large with lots of seasoning. Two of their entrees had vegetarian alternatives. I tried the risotto. It included grapes, mushrooms, green beans, and brussel sprouts. I thought the veggies would overwhelm the dish but it was very balanced. The sweetness of the grapes created a nice flavor combination. For dessert, we had the chocolate chip cookies, butter cake, and crème brûlée. All were tasty. The butter cake was super moist and melted in your mouth. To drink I had the Zadie's Smoking Gun. Love this restaurant. We go here every birthday or celebration, and it is delicious every time. I usually get a Filet Minon with a side of Mac and Cheese, and it is a match made in heaven. Both the Mac and Cheese and Brussels Sprouts sides are the best I've ever had, and I would say to everyone that they HAVE to try these if they go. My wife myself and my 3 year old Izzy came here on Valentine's Day for dinner. The sirloin streak was incredible! As we got here at 530 the restaurant was not yet too crowded. Downtown Campbell of course had lots of traffic and we had to park in a residential area within walking distance. There is no private parking and it's right next to Opa's restaurant. I would recommend this place as the service is good the food is great. It seems they serve breakfast as well and have a separate menu for this. We will be back for breakfast ! read more

First off, they followed Covid procedures amazingly, with ample 6ft+ between each table. We really enjoyed the added privacy being farther away from the other parties. The food: Iron skillet poblano cornbread: I ordered this after seeing a bunch of raving reviews but it was not for my taste. The syrup was way too sweet for my liking Crab cakes: These were a winner. The hubby stated these were the best cakes in town! :p Pancetta mac n cheese: YUM. Loved this so much I could've ate 3 of these. Scallops risotto: DELISH! I love risotto and this one did not disappoint. Don't be mislead by the photo the portion was on the generous side. Ginger ponzu bone-in ribeye: tastes just as good as it looks. So much flavor, and very tender meat. What a steal at the price! Service: Our server was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. It's hard to come by service where the server is genuinely empathetic, sincere and efficient. Made a reservation for my boyfriends birthday for 7:15. We got there checked in and we're seated right away. As soon as we saw a few minutes pass in our server came and greeted us. I totally forgot his name but he was amazing 10 out of 10 service. My boyfriend is a super indecisive person when it comes to his food, and he asks a lot of questions about the sauce, etc., our server was beyond patient and helpful with all his questions. We got the pesto cheesy bread, and the ahi for appetizers. Super yummy! Definitely recommend the pesto cheesy bread. No change in rating- but more information to share upon a return: The signature cocktails are still as fancy as Vesper but in bigger glasses- got to give them kudos for that. The poblano cornbread is hearty, much denser and cake-like than expected and perfect for sharing, but if you are not a fan of honey, ask for it on the side because it is overpowering. We prefer old-school, crumbly cornbread with the taste of butter. The wedge salad is overpriced but good- super fresh and crisp, with the perfect amount of flavorful the bleu cheese. The thick bacon pieces tasted chewy and candied. The pancetta macaroni and cheese was exceptional. Let yours sit a bit to solidify (runny when hot) and ask for a spoon. The toasted breadcrumbs were buttery and the pancetta was the best I'd ever had- on the tiptoe verge of being overcooked it was like teriyaki beef jerky with a crispy edge. This location is about hundred times better than the Morgan Hill one. I love their steak. It sounds gross... has a berry sauce but I swear it's delicious! They also cooked it perfect and the meat quality was perfect. My bf got the ribs and he loved them too. He said they're cooked perfect and very tender. The calamari was decent, maybe 3.5/5. WH used to be a regular spot precovid.. we recently came back and felt the food was just not the same. It wasn't as memorable as it used to be. The service was great- very attentive! The seating was comfortable because it was spaced apart enough. There are also heat lamps to each table which is nice. Back to the food- we had the sticky chicken and the burger. The sticky chicken plate was tasty however the chicken breast was so thick I needed a steak knife to cut through it. The burger was tasty as well but huge- difficult to eat without everything falling out of it- Might be better off without bell peppers. Both were presented so nicely. We ordered what a few yelp friends recommended: Pimms Royal libation - alright not bad not great Pesto cheese bread - it was ok, a tummy filler (really for the kids lol) Crusted Ahi tuna carpaccio - for us (surprisingly good - kids devoured it) WH chopped salad - pretty good WH peppercorn strip steak (med/rare) - chewier than we like IMHO (I prefer ribeyes hands down) Chipotle baby back ribs - fall off the bones and smoky flavor Sides ordered - all descent dishes Pancetta Mac cheese (pretty good) Brussel sprouts (not crispy, more like sautéed) Shrooms w/onions (classic) I asked about the cauliflower appetizer (read on Dean's yelp review) but they no longer serve it and didn't explain why. Not as busy as the other restaurants on this street so I picked it for that reason. It's very sophisticated and prices are a bit more on the upscale side but I definitely had a great experience. I chose the pappardelle pasta with the braised short rib. It's a very rich dish and I would recommend it more as a side dish to be shared with a table for that reason. Alone, it got heavy and salty on the palate. The beer list here is not very diverse but they definitely have some great cocktails and awesome wines by the glass. I chose the French brute Rose and it was a good decision. The flute class was beautiful! I think next time I will try the sticky chicken dish. That means that I will be returning! Got seated immediately for a Friday night dinner which was nice given everywhere else had a wait. The aesthetic and vibe inside is really trendy. It's definitely a hot spot for date night. We ordered: Pesto cheesy bread (4/5). It was a good portion size for 2 or 3 people. The cheese and pesto flavors were good. I like how it's cut into pieces for easy pull apart. The Abigail (4/5). A nice citrus flavor and definitely strong. I just am not the biggest fan of citrus. WH Sticky Chicken (3/5). There wasn't anything amazing about this dish. The flavor of the chicken was nice but that's about it. Served with plain rice and some greens. I'm not the biggest meat person and since this is a steakhouse I'm a little biased. Went here for a birthday dinner. We had the cornbread, crabcakes, short ribs, green beans with peanuts, and the popcorn beignets. Everything was delicious. The cornbread was good, and came out in a piping hot skillet, but the inside of the bread was actually cold. Still tasted great. The short ribs, crab cakes and beans were wonderful. The popcorn beignets were unique. The popcorn was delicious. The beignets were more like dense donut holes. When we got the receipt, we had been comped a few items (which did make things better) but after the server took our bill, he charged us full price after all, which felt like bait and switch. A high-end steak house (Flemmings, Sundance, etc.) would give you a nice baked potato, with containers of sour cream, green onion, and bacon. Not this place, the potato was a gooey mess, like something you would get at Dennys. But deserts were the worst: our table ordered 3 different ones and didn't finish any of them. We have been going to Willard Hicks for years. We have celebrated multiple friends and families wedding anniversaries and our anniversary. And have just come here when we want a nice sit down dinner. So when my Mom came to town for my Grandma's funeral services, she wanted a nice dinner with the family and I suggested this place. It was such a huge mistake and disappointment, and I felt so bad for my Mom who just really wanted to do something special in honor of her Mom. To start it took about 10+ mins for our waiter to come by to take our order. He then proceeds to take our entire order, didn't even start with drinks or apps. I already knew for a party of 9 it would be too much. But we all proceeded to place our apps, drink and meal order. 30-40 minutes after that we never got our drinks or our apps. So my husband went to the bar and I sought out the manager. Finally we got our drinks and apps. Our cornbread had foil still stuck to the bottom in pieces which just shows their already careless attitude but it was forgivable. Not long after, we got our food. They gave my husband an extra salad he didn't order. He tried to tell them, but they left it there. On top of that his ribeye was cooked improperly and the onion straws on top of his and my sis-in-laws steak were stale. My side of mac n cheese was extremely watery and soupy and my brother didn't get his side despite asking for it multiple times. At this point I was upset, our food was late and terrible. I tried to let the manager know again, but she just seemed like she didn't care and totally walked away from me. I was trying not to make a big deal out of respect for my Mom and what the occasion was, so I let it go. After that, we got the check and of course it was wrong. They charged for the salad we didn't order and tried to send back, and they charged an extra side. I pointed it out to the waiter and he came back with the manager, who said she comped us a bunch of stuff to help lower the bill. Which was not truthful because she didn't remove the extra items they charged us for. So accounting for that, she maybe gave us a $10-20 comp.... for all that we went through and expensive of a meal as it was, it was just totally unacceptable. All it takes is one extremely bad service to lose a customer and that's exactly what happened. Five Stars for their bar and side dishes. I like to go there sometimes to get some work done on my laptop, or for fun! They have a nice looking and full bar, usually pretty good bartenders (there is a particular girl that works there that looks like she hates her life and she's rude to people, but she's not always there), there was even one bartender gal that specially made me blue cheese stuffed olives for my martini and it was one of the best I've ever had. I really appreciated her going over and above (especially because their regular olives are gross lol) I have tried their side dishes of: mashed potatoes, brussels sprouts, the mac & cheese, and the green beans, and mushrooms, and they are all really really good. Very good spot for vegetarians, their chopped salad also looks very good, I just haven't tried it yet. it has semi dim lighting, which gives a great ambience and it's one of the reasons I like to go. Great TVs for sports watching! they can get busy, so either make a reservation if you were going to eat, or go early enough at the bar to get a seat. The parking in Campbell is not bad, if you have good parking luck you will have no problem, otherwise it might take five minutes to find a spot. read more

#covid19 update: got their "pasta and salad" takeout special tonight: "WH Pasta and Salad Spread Serves 4 People $100 or Serves 6 People $150 WH Chopped Salad WH Pappardelle Pasta WH Risotto with Scallops Cheesy Pesto Bread" We got the $100 (plus tax and tip) version. I ordered in the restaurant and my food was ready exactly when she said it would be (25 minutes later). Everyone required to wear masks and sterilized pens were available. Onto the food, which was generously portioned... "WH Chopped Salad-sweet butter leaf lettuce, kale, romaine, cherry tomatoes, golden apple, candied bacon and cucumbers, tossed in an apple goddess vinaigrette, topped with cornbread croutons and shaved parmesan." - The salad was good! The only downside to this is that the cornbread croutons were spicy and my son hates spicy. :( My husband eagerly ate his. ;) "WH pappardelle pasta-Pappardelle pasta served stroganoff style, braised short rib, white wine cream, Demi-Glace, balsamic glaze." - omg, this was awesome. Two big chunks of braised short rib which were cooked to fall-apart-perfection. The sauce was incredible. I wish I had asked for extra balsamic glaze on the side because it got lost with all the other stuff. Card accepted. Willard Hicks is located on a main street and offers street parking. The workers are Covid ready and wear masks. I went here on a Saturday night at 4:00 PM, no reservation, and told the host I had a party of 5 for outdoor dining. After a brief wait, without saying anything, he walked away with some menus towards the tables outside. I assumed he was leading us to our table so I followed. (Don't people usually say, "Right this way? " or "Follow me please? ") The outdoor dining area was comfortable with heat lamps. The server came by quickly and took our drink orders then our entrée orders. She was friendly but frequently forgot things we requested. The server also didn't bring any utensils with our appetizers or entrées, so we had to request them. We ordered 2 clam chowders, a kid's pasta, a burger, a salad with prawns, steak, calamari, and cheesy bread. The food took forever to come out but the steak and cheesy bread were the best items. For some reason they only brought out one clam chowder though and we ended up canceling the second one since they never brought it out. The servers were pretty bad with coming by and asking if we wanted drink refills. I know staffing is tough with Covid but how can you bring food and not utensils? It was $200 for the meal but don't think it was worth it since some of the portions were small. Unfortunately I probably won't go back.
