Absolutely fantastic! Our server, Lucas, was funny, helpful, cute and very well trained. The handcrafted signature cocktails were creative and great, as they should be served with one giant ice cube so as not to water down the drinks. We had a tuna roll as a starter for four of us. It was really good and huge too. My husband and I split a green salad (bacon, apples, cukes, croutons and a fabulous dressing), and our friends had French Onion Soup and a Southwest wedge (deconstructed and beautiful). I had the filet with the blackberry sauce with grilled grapes, bleu cheese and parsnip puree. WOW! Fantastic. Other entrees at the table included a rib eye and a pepper sauce on a rib eye. All good and all cooked perfectly to our order. It is not inexpensive, (4 people, $400 including tip). 1 appetizer, 6 cocktails, a celebratory bottle of Prosecco, and 3 desserts. Went here for NYE dinner. Solid menu with exceptional wait and host staff. Every staff member I encountered was polite and personable. The people here are genuine. Food was above average, but wasn't floored. I went for the meatloaf, wife had the NY Strip. We weren't absolutely wow'd by the food, but it was delicious. Ambiance is great. There's a good size bar with some of the biggest flat screens I've ever seen. Decor is tasteful. I thought I would get a giant helping of pretentious, but got the exact opposite. Even saw some folks bringing in their own wine. BYOB? May have been because they were seated with a large party. Give this place a shot, you won't be disappointed. read more

Sooooo, after reading a few reviews, we decided to join some friends for dinner last night at 9pm. According to your reviews, we ordered the crab cakes. It was cooked flawlessly, the crust was perfect and the overall consistency was great.....except that the crab cakes were a little smelly, as in not fresh, as in possibly canned. I see that to be a quality control issue. Also, since the chef was new to the establishment, the manager didn't charge us for our overcooked steak burger (thank you). But what realllllly got to me was our waitress' attitude.....Like she didn't give a care. I think she was having a bad evening but she should be professional enough to mask it. This is by far the best steakhouse I've been to. The blackberry filet mignon is amazing! The service was great and they have very knowledgeable staff, they surprised us with a wine Antonia which was absolutely tasty. Must have the cheese board. Our daughter is home for a week from college so we took her there for a nice meal. The atmosphere is nice but the music was so loud we had trouble talking across the table. The service was first rate. The cheesy bread appetizer was a big hit as were the chicken tostadas. The cornbread was good but completely burned black on the bottom and that ruined the flavor half way up. But we ate the top. The filet was very good and cooked to perfection. The sticky chicken sounds awful but it was delicious. The desserts were also very good. We will go back. read more

I give them zero stars. On my birthday yesterday we ordered $200 worth of food and didn't get our order. We got 2 steaks that we did not order and not one single thing that we ordered. I then called the restaurant to rectify it and Miguel was the person I talked to. He was rude and seemed NOT SOBER & put me on hold for an hour & a half and he also hung up on me 3 times. I then called back the next day (today) and the "manager" confirmed Miguel had NEVER put in my complaint, but was rude, dismissive and also hung up on me 3 times after waiting another hour on hold. We will be taking this to the better business bureau, as well as reporting it as fraud. $200 is alot of money to spend on food, which we are happy to pay, if we get what we ordered. The manager also refused to come to the phone and called me names which is completely unacceptable, while verbally abusing her employees. Worst experience ever! The manager put her employees at risk and made our food unsafe compared to COVID-19 guidelines. read more

Went here with the family for a birthday dinner after seeing it across the street from a great bookstore (Recycle Books). The service was good, waitress came by frequently, refilled waters, got more drinks, etc. The baked Brie was quite good (and elegant), served with grilled sliced squash, pumpkin, and roasted garlic cloves. My wife got one of their signature cocktails and enjoyed it. I, however, opted for a dirty martini that was hit and miss. The first martini was good and dirty, but their martini glasses are almost comically small (like what you'd imagine if a toddler ordered a martini). The second martini had barely any dirt in it at all. The main courses were quite delish. We had the pappardelle pasta and the bone-in short rib over horseradish mash. We also had the Brussels side. Pasta was good, the short-rib was amazing (juicy, falling off the bone good), but the Brussels were just ok. They were over cooked and the strong flavor of the sprouts totally overpowers any hint of the alleged truffle oil they were cooked in. Desert (a chocolate cake thing with ice cream) was also tasty. They are kid friendly with high chairs and kids' menu (a bit of a surprise, but a welcome one). I had a "chilled" Sambuca with desert but if that thing even looked at an ice cube, I'd be surprised. I'm used to drinking that stuff COLD... needless to say, it's harder to choke down anise liquor at room temp. So: food--very good; drinks--meh. read more

I have dined at Willard many times. The food is great and the ambiance is fun however I went there on Friday evening for my birthday and the service was slow as molasses. From the moment we sat down until the moment we left was over two hours. I enjoy wining and dining, but that is ridiculous. Hopefully it was just a bad evening and the service gets better. read more

Great service and amazing food! I very much like the decor of the place. It's very clean with a rustic touch. We sat outside in the warm summer night and was given a candle when the sun was setting. Great timing! The buger was huge and very tasty. Perfectly cooked to our specifications. I love how it comes on a wooden board with thick fries stacked like a log house. The pesto cheese bread was equally tasty. It came halfway sliced with the cheese and pesto melted into it. The presentation of food for this place is unbelievable. We found Willard Hicks for the first time last night and it definitely won't be the last time we go there. We had a early seating, some of the first to arrive but it was really busy by the time we finished up. At the recommendation of Beth, our waitress, we started with the Cornbread and loved it. It had a slight bite, but not overpowering heat - great blend of spicy and sweet. My son ordered the Lucky Meatloaf - he has a big appetite at 13 and still couldn't finish it. But it was great, we all tried and loved it. My husband and I decided to split the Southern Wedge salad and the Filet Mignon off the grill with the peppercorn sauce. The salad was fantastic, we loved the candied bacon. The filet was done perfectly with a great kick with the peppercorn sauce. Finally, we finished with the chocolate chip cookies and ice cream spilt 3 ways - great end to the meal. Also the service was really on-point. Beth was warm, efficient and really helpful. She gave us recommendations that were really helpful. All in all, the experience was superb - we will be back. read more

My wife and I spent a Friday evening having dinner and drinks. I had the New York strip steak (salt & pepper only) with wasabi mashed potatoes. She had the filet au gratin potatoes. Both steaks were prepared perfectly, medium rare. We had a delicious wedge salad for a starter that was also delicious. Service was friendly and prompt. Black coffee was just ok. My only complaint is the happy hour music. Terrible pop and hip hop played at a non appetizing volume. The food was so good that they still get a 5 star. read more

I had the skirt steak tacos, charcuterie board, my friends had the risotto and scallops and another had the bone in rib eye steak with a side wasabi Mash. Everything was amazing and beautifully presented. I was not too hungry after having the street taco, which was by far the best taco I've ever had, the aioli sauce was the perfect addition to it. I wish I could have ate them all and not had to share. Our charcuterie board was delusions, the chef really knows how to pair different flavors. My friends were extremely happy with their scallops (I don't eat seafood) so I trust their opinion. Our friend who had the steak didn't leave a sliver except for the bone. I think I found my favorite burger! It's a big 1 pound burger that they call a "Steak Burger". It's still ground angus beef but it's juicy and heaping with bacon, onion strings and peppers. The horseradish aioli and the sriracha ketchup are great condiments for the burger and fries. My wife and I usually order a starter or salad to split along with splitting the burger because its so much. The only reason I can't give it a 5 star is the service. This last time we went we sat in the bar area on one of the tables in the middle. It took almost 5 minutes for anyone to acknowledge us (the time before that was a wait too but shorter). It wasn't super crowded and all the servers had to pass right by us to get to the kitchen but there we sat. I was getting a little irritated until our server came by and greeted us. I do give him (unfortunately I forgot his name) thumbs up after the fact as he was attentive to us and his other table the rest of the night. read more
