    Pork belly & crab cakes

I decided to celebrate my birthday with my friends here during their happy hour. We were a little disappointed that their happy hours changed and all their best apps were gone from their happy hour menu. I made a reservation for my group and when we walked in, we asked if we could add another person. The hostess made it seemed like it was inconvenience even though there were multiple tables open. In the end they were able to change our table with no issues. Like usual, the drinks and food we ordered were delicious. Overall a good visit! Disappointed about their happy hours changed.

Came here Friday evening for an early Mother's Day with my husband and little and it was super yummy! We ordered the pork belly as an appetizer and that was divine! I ordered the lamb chops which was very good a little to much pepper but it was still very good! The service was good and the view outside is pretty we will definitely be back in the future

If you are planning a night out at the theatre, you might want to reconsider your pre-show dining destination. While Wild River Grille clearly markets itself to the arts-going crowd, our recent experience suggests they haven't quite mastered the timing required for an stress-free evening. We arrived at 6:00 PM, giving ourselves a full two hours before an 8:00 PM show. Despite the early start, the service was consistently behind the beat: * Order Taken: 6:17 PM * Salads Served: 6:30 PM * Drinks Arrived: 6:40 PM (Ten minutes after the food had already hit the table) The most frustrating part of the evening was watching the table next to us. They arrived well after we did, yet they managed to finish their appetizers and full entrees before our main courses even appeared. Our entrees finally arrived at 7:30 PM, leaving us a frantic 30 minutes to settle the bill and get to the theatre. We ended up rushing through the meal so quickly that we couldn't actually enjoy the flavors or the atmosphere. Once we brought the significant delay to the staff's attention, they did acknowledge the lapse in service and applied a discount to our bill. While we appreciate the gesture and the attempt to make things right, a discount doesn't quite replace a relaxing pre-theatre meal. For a restaurant that positions itself as the go-to spot for diners heading to a show, the lack of urgency and disjointed pacing is still a major drawback.

Visited this place as work dinner with my team and overall it was a good experience! The food was good and tasty and overall had a good flavor. The appetizers were good as well and really tasty. The ambiance was great being downtown and right on the river which made it a great experience. The customer service was great and the young lady helping us was amazing. Would definitely come back to eat here. Certainly a place to come enjoy a nice dinner.

Easy to obtain a reservation. Was greeted and seated immediately after entry and using restroom. We were sat in back of restaurant which we had no type of view. It was too chilly at 8:30pm to sit outdoors without heaters. Ordered our meals. I ordered Trout , hubby ordered Snapper. Food arrived looking amazing and hot. Waiter seemed like he was ready to wrap up the night and didn't check on us much so when we needed condiments we could get them right away. Also my potatoes, although hot, were not fully cooked and were like hot crunchy apple texture and green beans were just warmed up from fresh so could have been "cooked" just a bit longer. Food could have also been seasoned better for flavors- All in all we were hungry and ate but don't think a return is worth it for dinner. Maybe daytime for lunch with outdoor seating to view the river.

I always enjoy coming to Wild River Grille whether that's a random lunch when no one is around or when the place is jam packed before a show at the Pioneer Center. It's so nice that it's right by the river and is both a great place to be with friends or for a more intimate dinner date. My favorite starter has to be the glazed Brussels sprouts, they're flavorful, not mushy, and the blue cheese and bacon go so well together with the sauce. I also always go for the Wild River Salad; light refreshing. Beyond that, their menu is always changing so it's fun to try something new every time. Similarly, the seasonal cocktail menu is always changing so it's fun to try new drinks as well! Of the house cocktails the margarita is solid and the classic razz is pretty good. They also do have a couple of non-alcoholic options. Overall, always a great spot!

We made reservations at Wild River Grille to celebrate our 48th wedding anniversary on April 8 2026. What a wonderful, wonderful experience! Annalee was SO gracious, friendly and accommodating. I don't order Filet Mignon often, but this Entrée was literally "done to perfection". It was delicious and tender, served with cowboy butter, asparagus, on an amazing parmesan risotto cake. My wife had their New York steak special with "duck fried " Fries and Delta asparagus- SO GOOD. Imagine our surprise when we ordered Bread Pudding for dessert and it arrived at our table emblazoned with a chocolate "Happy Anniversary" decoration wish on the plate! (See photo) All in all, an awesome experience at what has to be one of Reno's premier dining locations! We can't wait to visit again and perhaps dine outdoors on their charming lighted patio on a warm summer evening.

Went here last weekend while in town for the day and wow, it was sure a treat! We loved dining on the outdoor patio overlooking the Truckee River. The staff was so friendly and attentive. We ordered the Steak Sandwich which had a house made chimichurri that was to die for, and their Sweet Kale Salad that came with spiced walnuts and a house made pomegranate vinaigrette. Everything was phenomenal! If I ever find myself back in Reno, I know where I'll be eating.

    Steak special

Went for a early dinner. Thankfully, we missed the rush because we didn't have a reservation. By the time we left around 6:30, the restaurant was entirely full, and all the seating at the bar was taken. Both dishes were tasty and service was very fine. Would definitely recommend for dinner!

This is one of those restaurants I seem to find myself always going back to. The food is consistent, and it's the perfect spot to grab dinner before seeing a show at the Pioneer Center. The Brussels sprouts are a must order every single time. They're crispy, flavorful, and just done right. The mushroom ravioli is absolutely amazing and one of my favorite dishes on the menu though it is only available during dinner(I wish this was an option during lunch time). The truffle fries are also really good and impossible not to finish. The pork belly is another standout since it is rich, well-cooked, and super satisfying. It melts in your mouth! Their salads are surprisingly good too, especially when you add chicken, which I like to do. It makes for a lighter option that's still filling. On top of all that, the cocktails are solid and well made, making it a great place to relax. Overall, it's a go to spot since it is reliable, delicious, and perfectly located for a pre-show dinner. It has something for everyone!

Nice place to grab a drink outdoors by the river. We came on a Sunday night and not overly busy but had a good vibe. Relaxed ambiance music thanks to my girl Adele!

Randy and I can't say enough about the Wild River Grille for our wedding reception! From the beginning, during the planning stages of our event, Alex was amazing to work with. She was extremely responsive and listened to our questions and requests and her suggestions were perfect for our event. The day of our reception was delightful, thanks to the staff. Many, many of our guests personally came up to us to praise the food and the service. The menu selection was ideal for our group and the food was perfect. We were thrilled to look around the room and see everyone served and enjoying their experience. The entire staff was amazing and extremely accommodating. The venue was perfect for our sized event. We will recommend, highly, Wild River Grille to our friends and family.

This is my third review of this place. Many visits in between. I have meals all over the Reno area and not one can match the quality, consistency, and atmosphere of Wild River Grille. The service is always fantastic. 10/10 my favorite restaurant in Reno. Today I had the citrus grilled salmon and it was amazing. The portion was excellent and I've not had better salmon in Reno.

It was our 1st time eating there however it had been on our list for some time. We started with the PULL-APART GARLIC CHEESE BREAD which is Focaccia, mozzarella, marinara, parmesan, frico crust and also ordered the WOOD FIRED OCTOPUS with crispy gnocchi, tomatoes, red onion, basil, arugula and topped with a Calabrian chili aioli. Both were fantastic, seasoned nicely and cooked to a perfect temperature!! For our entree we hate the BEE STING pizza. Make with a 72 Hour Fermented Organic Dough topped with Salami, red onion, basil, serranos, mozzarella and honey. The crust was delicious, crunchy, thin and when combined with the sauce, seasoning and toppings, an excellent pizza. Additionally we ordered two of the in-house, housemaid pasta. The ARRABBIATA , a roasted red pepper campanelle, with Calabrese sausage, garlic, chilis, broccolini and topped with Parmesan, pecorino. The other pasta we tried was the BLACK SPAGHETTI, mixed with clams, scallops, shrimp, hot chopped peppers, white wine, butter and lemon. It was fantastic!! Cooked al dente and packed with flavor. Overall it was a very pleasant experience. The service was great, food was yummy and we definitely look forward to going back again soon!

The garlic bread pull-apart was honestly one of the highlights of the meal -- absolutely amazing and definitely something we'd order again. The pizza was also really good with great flavor and fresh ingredients. The atmosphere had a nice downtown vibe and felt relaxed and welcoming. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 was the service timing after our appetizer order. Once we got the garlic bread, it took about 20-30 minutes before our server came back to take our actual food order, which slowed things down quite a bit. Outside of that, everything else was great. One helpful tip for anyone visiting: there's paid meter parking on the street, so make sure to put enough time on the meter just in case your visit takes a little longer than expected. Overall, definitely worth checking out and we'd still come back again.

It was such a beautiful day.... where can we eat outside?…read more I found "The Spot", its in the old Smee's location on the river. When we showed up, we asked if we could sit at a table outside, the guy was a little overwhelmed, he said "I can sit you in 10 mins". I said "can we have this table". OK, but....just know I'll be with you as soon as I get caught up, I'm totally fine with that I said. . He bought us a couple menus to look over. Then a table on the railing with shade opened up, I didn't care about the table was dirty with dishes, so we decided to move. I love to look at the river and watch the people go by. The server said, I'll be over soon! He was never so happy when Sierra showed up to help him out. He came over to our table I said "I hope you don't mind, I moved to be in the shade, I know I'm one of those pain in the ass customers". Then he started joking with me and it was the perfect ice breaker. My server and part owner's name is Casey! He is an awesome guy and such a hard worker to ensure his customers are taken care of. I love that. We had a couple beers, he has quite the selection of beers on tap, he supports the community breweries such as Lead Dog and Revisions. My husband had the breakfast burrito $13, it was huge with homemade tortilla chips with salad and guacamole. I had the fish and chips. You get three large pieces of fish, fries and yummy coleslaw. I love how they put the tater sauce and ketchups in personal cups for you that shows class. My fish was absolutely delicious better than the old Smees and especially the new location. You get a nice meal for $20. They have indoor, outdoor, bar seating. They have a little merch area and a gaming bar if you feel lucky. I know the Open Championship Bowlers are in town, if you're looking for nice comfort food "tavern style" location this is the place for you on the Reno Riverwalk 50 N Sierra. It upstairs.

The drinks were great and tasty, but the bruschetta honestly fell a little flat - the portion felt tiny with four small raw white bread medallions and just some diced tomatoes tossed on top with a drizzle of balsamic that I overall didn't have much taste and felt lacking as an attempt at bruschetta but it was no big deal and we moved on. We also ordered the filet tips with gnocchi that took a little longer and came out with the main entrees and it was delicious. The filet tips were savory and flavorful, the gnocchi was excellent and the sauce was rich and creamy. My wife ordered the chef's pasta which turned out to be a shrimp pasta that she really enjoyed, and I ordered a spicy sausage rigatoni pasta that looked amazing but unfortunately fell short - it had a little bit of spice and everything was cooked perfectly but the noodles and meat tasted plain and the sauce was quite bland and watery and lacked any sort of seasoning. We asked for some salt which made it a little better and I finished it but would probably not order it again. Lastly, we topped the night off with the banana foster which couldn't miss. It was extremely delicious and was the perfect end to the meal. The service was exceptional and extremely pleasant which honestly boosted the experience. There was a large loud party happening and drinks and food were taking quite a bit to come out, but our server was amazing, charming, and attentive. They apologized and comped our drinks without even having to say anything and made us feel welcome and comfortable. I would come back for the service alone. The eating area is very spacious and commodious. Though this place has a casual vibe, the presentation of the food is totally fine-dining material. Each dish, especially the Citrus glazed salmon, is served as a piece of art. I've been here around three times before I installed yelp, and am excited to finally leave a review. The short rib, was absolutely amazing. The short rib was so tender, and each brussels sprout was a literal flavor bomb. The brussels sprouts I've had at other places have flavor only on the exterior, whereas the brussels sprouts here play a different game. The short rib is served in a really big portion. Though it may look dark from the photos, there are actually three big pieces. I loved loved loved the sauce; there's a sweet tangy taste to it, though it reminded me a lot of BBQ sauce. This short rib was a win. Chefs kiss. The truffle lasagna was terrific; so much sauce in between the lasagna layers. I could absolutely make out the truffle flavor in this dish. However, I recommend eating this dish quickly, as the lasagna stiffens really quickly. Thirty minutes after it was served, I went it to take another bite, and it wasn't as good anymore. The ceasar salad +beef is a great choice for a light but filling meal when you're currently on a healthy diet. Each dish here comes in giant portions, but even after you finish this salad, it won't feel too heavy on your body. I think it's because Washoe is really light on the dressing levels; perfecting the amount so it doesn't overtake the fresh flavor of the greens or leave the salad bland and insipid. However, the beef was a bit too well done and on the firmer side. The first time coming here, I was totally shocked to find out that the food they served did not match the relaxed and informal vibe the setting sets up. Not a bad thing at all. Creates a laid-back vibe while still getting high quality food.

Our most recent visit was dinner to celebrate our 47th wedding anniversary. It still maintains it's casual atmosphere. The entrance has shifted to the Ridge Street side of the building. A good decision. It always felt a bit cramped to check in in the bar area especially when they are busy. Dining area is now mostly in the back room. While the setting is casual, the food is upscale - including the burgers. They offer game meats, elk, kangaroo, venison, and wild boar, in addition to high end beef and a small selection of seafood. They also have a few vegetarian/vegan options. I had the Citrus Glazed Salmon with root vegetables and squash. It was very good. The salmon was fresh and and flaky and perfectly cooked. My husband had the Rock Candy Short Rib. He deemed it "acceptable" Mine was paired with a light dry Savengon Blanc. Service was good and our satisfaction was checked. I debated between a 4 or 5 star experience - I decided on 5 mostly due to the quality of the meal. Return visit? Yes.

We tried 4 different appetizers. My favorite was the shrimp lettuce wraps 5/5. They were messy to eat, but the flavors are really nice. The chicken tacos were also good with the coleslaw crunch. The potstickers themselves were more a 4/5 for me with the sauce being better than a lot of others I've tried. Overall, I found the dish to be OK, but IMHO a bit pricey and not something I'd recommend to others. My BIG problem was finding a thin metal "ribbon"-like thing in my entrée. It was about four inches long and one end was coiled as tight as a spring. To me, it looked to be the result of aggressive knife sharpening. Our server wasn't around at the moment, so with the urging of a couple fellow diners, I called a man over who seemed to be assisting her. When I showed him the object, he said he thought it came out of their dishwashers (?) and he was sorry it got into my meal. He took the "ribbon" and left, looking for a manager, I thought. When our server began handing out our individual bills, the man hadn't returned, so I spoke with her instead. When I described what I had found, she looked genuinely shocked, so obviously the other guy hadn't shared the information with her. I told her that I was grateful I hadn't swallowed the spring, but I still felt a discount on my meal would be appropriate. When I was given my bill, a 25% discount had been applied to my entrée, or about $6.75. I didn't feel satisfied, but we had now been sitting for well over an hour and I needed to get up and walk off the stiffness in my leg muscles. Speaking ONLY for myself and not the group, I won't be returning.

I guess I needed to drink it faster! The apps were solid. The pretzel bites and beer cheese kicked ass and the hummus was excellent. So far so good. I ordered the 6oz. sirloin, medium rare, and boy did I learn my lesson. I've eaten here about 20-25 times and should have stuck with a burger or something that didn't require effort. That sirloin was so well done they must have cooked it twice. It was like eating a middle school burger with a knife and fork. This place is decent. Just stick to burgers and wraps and you'll be fine.

The atmosphere is small and quaint and holds some history. Built in 1893 and at one time a wedding chapel. We enjoyed a few appetizers, on the happy hour menu that were quite good. And ended sharing the Barramundi with seasonal veggies. Super light not heavy and prepared perfectly. Lauren was friendly and attentive without being overbearing. She made sure we were taken care of, and everything came out in a timely manner. Definitely a spot we will go back to and I highly recommend.
