Chicken and Waffles Benedict
Yuki N.

After reading so many nice reviews, we came here for weekend brunch, but unfortunately, the experience was very underwhelming. The ambiance is cozy, and our server was friendly and welcoming. She made sure we understood the menu and checked on us regularly. The mimosa was made with fresh orange juice, which was also a nice touch. Since our coffee and mimosas arrived pretty quickly, we assumed the food would follow shortly. However, we ended up waiting nearly 40 minutes for our food and easily finished our drinks while waiting. My Eggs Benedict had good flavor and nicely runny eggs, but the Canadian bacon was way overcooked and rock hard. I could barely cut or chew it. The English muffin was also overcooked and difficult to cut through. The coleslaw was served warm, which gave it a strange texture. The chicken was crispy but under-seasoned, while the waffle was dense and dry. The small side of succotash was the highlight--it was well-seasoned and enjoyable. I was pretty disappointed by the experience, especially considering the price and many good reviews. There are plenty of other places in the area I'd rather try next time.

Nashville Hot Chicken Pizza
Terry A.

Really nice restaurant! The parking garage was right next to the restaurant, so it's super easy to get here. The vibe of the restaurant is really cool with church pew seating in the booth we got. Everyone liked their drinks and the food was almost perfect. The Nashville hot pizza was perfect, no notes. We love Detroit style pizza, so it was right up alley with the crispy edges. The only knock was the chicken sandwich. The chicken was fried perfectly, but the sandwich didn't have much flavor. The pesto parm fries also sounded much better than the actually thing. It was just fries with small dollops of pesto on top. We would definitely go back for the pizza at least, still a great place!

Pizza

Really friendly staff and delicious food! It's hard to find a good spicy margarita and i have to say they make a good one. I have to be honest at first it looked like a very watered down margarita but thankfully it wasn't. You must get the pizza! Crispy and delicious! The sauce is a great base, sweet and savory.

Elote Pizza

We stopped in before going to the Frederick Fair. We didn't make reservations but thought at 5:30 Pm on a Saturday it should be ok. The only area available was the upstairs bar which was fine. It was a little chilly up there but besides that it was very well decorated. We sat at the bar and you scanned a code to order. It was ok but the app they use could be a little better. We couldn't note more than one item to remove from a dish which was annoying but the bartender stated she could assist. We got cocktails (watermelon frozen cocktail and I got a Negroni) they were good. The food took a while almost 45mins. We were very hungry and got an appetizer crab fries and the elote pizza and a protein chicken bowl. All items came out together and my sister's chicken on her bowl and the fries were cold. Honestly we didn't have time for them to correct it so we didn't mention it. The food was ok. Not crazy good but the place was cool. Not sure if I would run back but it may have just been an off day.

I can see why this place has such a high rating. If I could give percentage of stars they would get a 4.5. We sat at the bar downstairs. We arrived towards the end of Brunch so the outside seating wasn't available. We tried a few drinks and went thru the menu. Everything coming out of the kitchen looked great so instead of ordering a pizza we decided to try several small plates. Our first course was the chicken skewers ginger soy. I wanted to try the Jerk but they were out. The meatballs were next. These were very good but the star of the plate was the bread with homemade honey butter. Wow. I got the cheese bread with pepperoni with side of marinara which is like a mini version of their pizza. We wife got the cucumber and Feta salad. I almost ordered a second plate. It was simple but so good. I look forward to trying the pizza . The Nashville Hot Chicken Pizza caught my eye

Greens Bowl with Shrimp

Come early if you want a table but White Rabbit Gastro Pub is worth the effort for sure. Tucked in a no-visibility corner of Frederick behind the Church Street Parking Garage, this gem of a local restaurant inhabits the space that was La Paz years ago. It's certainly worth the effort to come and find and would even be worth the (expectable) wait for a table. Reservations are not accepted, so planning is the watchword. At 11:30 am on a late winter Saturday which was damp and dreary, we got one of the last tables. Aiming for healthier fare, we got "bowls" (one rice-based with tofu, and one greens-based with shrimp. Both were tasty, plentiful and delicious. This is upscale dining and not perhaps super-affordable for the cost. A $20 salas out to be super-plentiful and delicious to justify the expense, but these both definitely well. Despite a bazillion competitors within walking distance, we definitely plan to come back. We're fans.

Crab Poutine
Charon R.

Let me just start with the fact that I am Quebecois and so I know my poutine and THIS crab poutine will bring me back to this restaurant if nothing else! Delicious and loaded with crab! The restaurant was a bit full and as we decided to give this spot a try sort of last minute, we were more than happy to sit at the bar. We were exhausted from a long day and starving, and because of both those things we skipped cocktails. It was very disappointing to have to do all our ordering through the app, resulting in virtually zero interaction with any staff whatsoever. It left me with just an odd feeling I can't explain, perhaps because we were looking right at staff sitting at the bar and yet no one spoke to us. Anyway, the food was great (my friend had the smash burger and fries) and I will be coming back at least once for the poutine again and to try their pizza. Apparently they are known for their pizzas and they ones I saw did look delicious.

Banana Pudding Cute Little Mini Donuts
Jennifer B.

Wow this place was yummy! I only took one picture but the food was noteworthy. We had the chicken and biscuit sandwich which was huge and delicious. Brussel sprouts and mini sliders. We ended with banana pudding doughnuts what a clever idea. It was my first time there but I'll definitely be back.

Chicken Caesar Cutlet
Neha M.

I can't believe I'm discovering this place so late despite being a local. Their three sauce pizza (menge a trois? something like that) was insane. I'm definitely a sauce person on my pizza and this was right up my alley. Buttery thick crust. My friend got the chicken cutlet caesar sandwhich and she loved it said the dressing had crazy flavor and her cutlet was super crispy. We definitely need to go back and try more things. All of their pizzas look really unique. Table next to us got the one with a lot of pepperoni on it and it looked very good too. I reccomend parking at the Church Street Garage to access the restaurant as it's sort of hard to find parking. Interior was quaint and conservative and our waitress was amazing and very sweet.

Brussel crowe, crab poutine and Veronica Vaughn pizza
Jimmy S.

This place is a great spot in town for good drinks and eats. The Veronica Vaughn pizza was excellent with the ricotta being very abundant and the pepperoni being cooked nice and cupped along with that slight hot honey kick. The brussel sprouts were a great flavored green to have. The crab poutine fries were good but nothing to write home about. The vibe and atmosphere was intimate and felt like a nice dark but speakeasy type vibe but with the energy of a gastropub. The cocktails were also very well made. The staff was very nice and attentive. There is a wait if you don't have reservations so I recommend getting it ahead of time.

Chicken and waffles hollandaise
Benjamin K.

The food was very good and creative. I had the chicken waffles hollandaise and my wife had breaded chicken and fries. Delicious! The building is an interesting old structure filled with quirky artwork. Service was friendly but a bit inattentive after we were seated.

Seasonal burger with onions and mushrooms
Tolulope R.

Came here with a group of friends for lunch after hiking at Ganbrils state park. We didnt have reservations but was able to get seat outside. Our server was friendly and told us we could scan QR code to get the menu. I saw someone else eating a Smash burger and knew I wanted one. I also ordered a Pious pear cider which was nice and too sweet. The burger had all the toppings and was filling. The group shared an order of crab poutine which was delicious. We had a bit of food envy when we saw other tables with pizza. I would love to come back and try their pizza. Had a great experience and would recommend this to others.

Chicken Carmela's Cutlet
Liz E.

Cool vibe in downtown Frederick, Maryland. The night we went it was super busy. Had to wait for a table about 30 minutes, but we hung out at the bar and the drinks were really good. Would definitely suggest getting the crab poutine as an appetizer so tasty. I got the Carmella's cutlet as my main meal, very big couldn't finish it all also very good.

Ask the Community - White Rabbit Gastropub

Do they currently accept reservations?

No, but they put you on a call list and text you

Do they have TVs at one the bars to watch a game?

I don't think so.

I am on a keto friendly diet, does that pepperoni crust have no breading? I have never been here but I would make a trip if this is an option!! I miss pizza! :) is it?

I'm not sure it was keto but call them and ask. :)

Menu looks delicious but very " bready." Any gluten free options for the gluten-intolerant guests?

Omg, yes!! They have a lot of gluten free options. I had the cream of crab soup, totally gluten free and the only one I've found at a restaurant thus far. There are definitely meal options, too. Go eat there, you will not be disappointed!!!

Does white rabbit over space for private events?

It's a small business, and very receptive I'd say likely

Regina, the owner and chef, was incredible. She is SO warm and welcoming. Her daughter also helped with service and she was so kind. Regina is also super knowledgeable about wine, and cheese (really, knowledgeable about ALL things) and started our dinner with an amazing cheese plate and glass of wine. We then had three entrees to choose from; my husband had salmon and I got the filet and they were SOOOO good. We both got mashed potatoes and they were the best I've ever had. We then had dessert, which, surprising no one, was also fabulous. With dessert, Regina and her daughter sang a few songs and they were AMAZING. I could have stayed there all night, listening to them sing and listening to Regina on the guitar. To say I was sad to leave is an understatement. I had such a wonderful time and can't wait to come back. Also fun fact, Regina owns a total of 5 businesses in town, one of which is a cheese shop/coffee shop and is also SO FREAKING CUUUUUUTE! It overlooks a creek and is so serene. I went before my spa day at Atasia Spa, and I could have sat outside overlooking the creek all day. Long story short, if you value a delicious home cooked meal, made with love and all things good, come to Ravenwood Pub.

I'm not the type to start shit with someone who's working, I'm incredibly respectful to those on the clock, but I'm also not going to let someone rag on me. My two friends and I (25 years old each) were at this bar a few years ago, and the experience stuck with me so I'm posting the review now. My one friend was in the bathroom, and another had left a beer bottle on a pool table. Bad guy, for sure we screwed up there, someone came over and told us to move it and we did. So I go to the bar to get a beer, and I hear one of the waitresses calling us stupid and ridiculous for the beer bottle incident. I was like "whoa, actually that's my table and you should be careful when talking about customers... especially if you're right in front of them" and it was a really embarrassing incident. From there, I tell my friend at the pool table what happened and the owner (apparently) who was very drunk, overhears and starts yelling at us for initially having the beer on the pool table. Obviously, at this point, we'd moved past that and were more bothered at the waitress calling us names, so I tried to explain my point and she kept bringing it back to "you all don't pay for it, you have no respect, yada yada" -- and mind you, despite my age, I work in customer service. I excel in conflict mitigation, I was talking her down and she was not having any of it. She threatened to have some strong man beat my ass, she said we have no respect, she didn't hear my point at all and she had a posse of older people who were also blindly backing her up. Frankly, I should've called the cops because I'd never been threatened in my life, I'm not that kind of person. I really tried to bring this conflict to a resolution, and we had like 4 people all screaming at us that night just because I had the gall to tell my friends that the bartenders were talking shit about us. It was an awful experience and I recommend that, to anyone who might accidentally break a rule, really avoid this place. For the record, we still paid our tab and tipped the bartender/waiter (which I've been using both words to describe one person, whoops.) even though that'd ruined the night. We weren't rowdier than anyone else, weren't being loud or disrespectful, but they engaged in a screaming match with us and felt the need to stand their ground WITHOUT HEARING WHAT WE WERE EVEN CONCERNED ABOUT. We weren't arguing to keep the beer on the pool table, we didn't want to be disrespected about it AFTER we'd already corrected the situation, but that (to the owners) was worth SCREAMING AT AND BERATING their own customers over. Absolutely awful experience. Trashy owners 100% ruined it, hope their hubris leads their business to ruin. PS: I've never been called "privileged" and I literally laughed in the context of it. I calmly ask the owner lady, in the middle of screaming at us with her friend, to please calm down so we can explain our side to a rational person. And out of left field she says "you know how PRIVILEGED you sound??" I come from a very poor background. My stepdad was a plumber and my mom was mentally ill and couldn't work. We didn't have money, I grew up around this kind of trashiness and I know how to deal with it, just never dealt with it as the owner of a pub with a chip on their shoulder. It wasn't an "oh we owned the rich kid and now he's complaining on yelp" moment, it was just a hostile drunk woman harassing some younger men having fun at her bar. It was atrocious. We walked away from the situation to try to salvage the night and after a few minutes, laughed about it saying "that was so crazy" and apparently she was still hovering around us, listening, cuz she comes out of nowhere and says "IM NOT CRAZY" -- just to show she's still listening to us. At that point we knew we had to leave. She'd effectively chased us out because we didn't want to be disrespected over a little mistake on our part. Mind you, it wasn't my friend's mistake, not even mine, yet I faced the brunt of her criticism. Owners to a bar should have more decorum, this was just pathetic. I never speak out about these kinds of things, but this was really awful, I woke up today, years after the incident and said "no, people need to know." I'd never been so targeted, so maybe I am privileged, or maybe I just follow the rules and do everything I should and these people are outwardly more irresponsible, getting hammered on the clock and fighting patrons without stopping to hear what they're even upset about, than any business owner should be. The food was good though I mean, just keep your head down and be good for the owners if you're not ordering takeout I guess. Any amount of 'acting out' and they'll seek muscle man on your ass like they did to me.
