    roasted beet salad

My sister always takes me to wonderful places for lunch, and this was no exception. I loved the vibrant ambience--lively but still comfortable. Our waitress was wonderful as well, always attentive and quick to refill my iced tea. We ordered a few dishes to share: * Brussels sprouts agrodolce * Roman artichokes * Napoletana bread * Roasted beet salad Everything was delicious and perfect for sharing. A lovely place to enjoy a meal with my favorite sister (my only sister!).

I had family in from Texas and they wanted some geopolitics pizza. The service was good and the place was fairly empty given it was the day before Thanksgiving. The pizza itself was really good and they enjoyed it. I got the meatball sub with mozzarella cheese and it was very good. I would highly recommend this sandwich. The meatballs were tender and the sauce and cheese were equally great. The bread is nice and toasted. The fries were cold and bland. The kids ordered Mac and cheese and fettuccini Alfredo. I was highly disappointed with these dishes. The kids didn't even eat them. They were bland and honestly tasted like nothing. I could t even tell the Mac and cheese and fettuccini Alfredo apart. They really should taste their food and season appropriately. We ordered a cannoli to go and this was just awful. The filling was very bitter and not sweet at all. It was also very plain wi the only some pistachios on the ends. The cannoli itself did not taste fresh, almost a bit stale. I don't think these shells are made in house, but maybe the filling is.

I wish we could say we had a better time at Pistarro's, because the food was pretty good. However, we had issues with the service and the food seemed overpriced for what it was. I came by with friends and a dog on a nice spring weekday evening because we wanted to enjoy their large patio space. They sat us at the far end of the patio away from other guests, which was great. It gave us some room to relax and the dog could watch people in the park. However, it also meant that no one came to help us. Five minutes went by, then ten, then fifteen. We stopped other outdoor servers, but they kept saying someone would help us. When our server came he didn't even comment on the delay. The rest of the dinner was the same- our server was barely present, had large lapses in time between visiting our table, and didn't say much. The food was good but seemed a little expensive. I got the blue fico pizza, which was creative and tasty. But $17 for a personal pizza seems high. Everything was that expensive, even the meatball sub with fries. The food was good but not for the price. I wish I had more positive things to say, but we just didn't have a great dinner.

Dined at Pistarro's for the first time recently The outdoor dining area is lovely and has a nice, warm, romantic feel The service was great and food and drinks both came out quickly. I had the lasagna and my friends had the carbonara pasta and a Bianca pizza. The portions were great too. The lasagna was so good - tasted like a Nonna's cherished recipe. The carbonara was made with thin spaghetti noodles, which I think made the sauce not cling to the noodles as well. The flavor was a bit lacking. Overall, it's a solid spot for some Italian food if you're in Frederick!

Dined here for lunch with my wife and daughter last Sunday. We picked this restaurant because it has outdoor seating and allows well-behaved pets. Ordered two different pizzas and a full size Caesar salad. Split everything between the three of us. The pizzas were very good as was the salad. Service was very slow... Fortunately, we were not in a hurry. The bill was $46 plus tax and tip for two 12 inch pizzas, one salad, and three soft drinks which I felt was a little on the expensive side. Because of the slow service and the relatively expensive menu, I could not award five stars. However, that being said, I would have no hesitancy dining there again.

We went here because it had so many good reviews and left very disappointed. It was a bit difficult to find parking because it was filled- so we had high hopes for this place. The service & atmosphere was AMAZING. It felt very homey and we felt very taken cared of. But the food was very disappointing. We first started out with the calamari, it was great! The portion was good for a shared appetizer. It wasn't too breaded, paired with marinara & some sort of tartar sauce. But the main course- although presented well- was underwhelming. I ordered the carbonara- it had green onion? Though creamy, It was very bland to where the only taste was the very few pieces of small, thin, pancetta. The noodles were thin and were a little bit overcooked (I couldn't wrap them around my fork without it breaking). My partner ordered the Spaghetti with meatballs, it came with about 3 decently sized meatballs but "seemed unseasoned and had no flavor." The sauce itself was very watery "scooped from the top without mixing" and had no depth of flavor- "store bought sauce would've been better." The noodles were coated in the sauce but it did not absorb the sauce's flavor- it was distinctly "plain noodle" and "sauce" and wasn't cohesive in taste. We did not end up finishing the main dishes. Overall, it was a bit upsetting to pay almost 70$ for this meal.

This review is for late lunch for two at the bar in late February. service: Chloe was our bartender and she was great. She was especially helpful with the menu recommendations. bar: I drank a Loose Cannon IPA ($9 as of 02/2025). Wide selection of Italian wines. food: This is the real deal, wood-fired, Neapolitan style pizza. We've had dozens upon dozens and this one is great. We had the Polpettine ($18.50 as of 02/2025). This is a meatball pizza and it was fantastic. We also had a gorgonzola side salad ($8.50 as of 02/2025) and it was awesome. details: Seems like a large space. We were surprised to see two ovens, so they must get busy. Some street parking outside, but parking might be tough during peak hours. Appears they have seasonal outdoor dining and significant carry out business.

A lovely place! We sat outside and it seems like a busy and popular spot. The service was great. My friend and I got a glass of wine each. The house red wine that the sever suggested was delicious. We ordered the Pane which is the wood fire bread and it was delicious and served with a side of olive oil and balsamic vinegar. The center of it was soft and yummy. I would say that if you're ordering pizza as your entree, do not get the Pane, because it seems like it's literally just delicious wood fired pizza dough. Once my pizza came out, I realized how much bread we were consuming haha and although all of it tastes of quality and is delicious, there was just too much of the same bread. We also got the beet salad - this was pretty basic. Nothing special or unique about it, but I like beets, so I liked it and they were topped with pistachios which was a nice surprise. I got a Capricciosa pizza which was tomato sauce, mozzarella, mushrooms, artichoke and basil. It was a good pizza, but I wish there was more cheese and it did feel like I was just eating bread with toppings, but maybe I'm just uncultured and this is what an authentic Italian pizza should be like?! Who knows, not me! Hah but regardless, the dough and ingredients were delicious. Next time, I would love to come back and try their pasta!

Great place to grab a pizza or pasta for a family meal or a date!. Food is done well and tastes really good. The service is on point, and they are very friendly. My main recommendation is to not get a pizza with tons of toppings as it can get pretty soggy, but if you get the pepperoni, for example, it will be perfect!

Did this place close? Just drove by and it's totally dark. Tried to call the number and per Verizon the line is disconnected.

    I hope not!

Authentic juicy delicious Chicago-Italian-Beef-Sandwiches and Chicago Deep-Dish and Thin-Crust…read morePizza! If you've ever seen the delicious food shown on The Bear, or even better if you've had the food recommended by Everyone in Chicago, then like me, you have been searching Maryland for authentic Chicago-Italian-Beef-Sandwiches! *** (I'm a little excited here ;-) These are NOT Philly cheese-steaks ... Please, no cheese on these! No fresh-"salad" on the sandwich! No onions! And these are not French-Dip ... These have better seasoning and softer bread. These are made with very-thin-sliced beef (imported from Chicago :-), just thick enough not to fall apart when slowly simmered in delicious seasonings including the tiniest trace of hot spices. The Italian roll is soft to drink up lots of juice, or to soak in juice if you order it "wet", which is a Chicago thing. The bread just has to hold together for as long as you are holding on. This place makes it savory and perfectly, and the manager happily gave us additional juice on the side. I love this sandwich with softly simmered "sweet" green peppers, or you can get with "hot" giardiniera mixed pickled veggies, either one is authentic, and this place uses the Rosati's brand which has a nice kick to it. I got it with a side of fresh hot thick-enough crispy fries, like i used to have at Johnnies west-of-Chicago. It's a filling 6-inch sandwich. This is heavenly! This is the branch of Rosati's that makes it's pizza-sauce fresh on-site, and uses delicious crust and sausage brought in from Chicago. I brought home a frozen deep-dish pizza. Dinner tonight! This storefront is 0.2-miles east of US-15, off 7th Street at Fairview. It's in the middle along the east of the large parking lot. This place is sparkling clean. There are two tables totaling four seats, for dining in the restaurant, which we did. There's a coin-operated candy machine for a handful of skittles or m&m's. The manager is friendly and accommodating. A real nice experience!

I ordered takeout, but I will say that I did not realize in advance that the place would be basically a pure takeout with only a single table (albeit one that was well-attended during my visit). I've been to several of the big players in Chicago. The pizza here smells right, the sauce has the tang you'd expect. The crust didn't quite hold up for me, making for a messy pizza and not the most impressive flavor. Ordering a spinach pizza was a good decision as the spinach was abundant. A salad was robust in size, though they did not have my first choice dressing. A tiramisu made a nice divergence on a later date. They made two mistakes with my order, giving me a garlic bread with cheese that I'd ordered without, and not giving me a side of sweet peppers that I'd ordered. These weren't huge enough to make we want to drive back there to get corrective action on. Overall, I got the deep dish pizza I came for, and if I really had a hankering I could see ending up here again, but there are certainly areas for improvement.

I had driven two hours and was hungry, but I was also committed to making good decisions. Or at least mostly good decisions... The hostess offered me a seat at the second-floor bar rather than the quoted 25-30 minute wait. Great! Solo diners love surprise upgrades. Unfortunately, when I got upstairs, the one "available" seat had apparently been claimed by a diaper bag and a giant straw sunhat belonging to the woman sitting next to it holding a too-little-to-walk baby sitting at the bar. Uhhh...this isn't going to work. Back downstairs I went. I gave them my name and number, found a shady spot outside, and settled in for what I assumed would be a long wait. Five minutes later, my table was ready. Thank you, Universe! My server greeted me with water immediately, explained the QR code menu situation, and told me not to order through the app because she'd be right back. No worries, friend. I'd already done my homework. I knew exactly what I wanted. One Martha Stewart's Prison Pizza ($22), please. (Sausage, broccoli, ricotta, Calabrian chili peppers, lemon oil, and sea salt.) I asked for the chili peppers on the side because I know myself. I like adventure. I don't enjoy possibly setting my mouth on fire. And a Diet Pepsi ($3.50), because balance. While I waited, I people-watched, which is one of my favorite hobbies. White Rabbit was PACKED. The patio was full. The downstairs bar was full. Upstairs was full. Couples, groups of girlfriends, older folks, younger folks, families, solo diners...everyone seemed happy to be there. The place itself is pretty small, which explains the wait. Six tables downstairs, maybe eight bar seats, more seating upstairs, and a constant dance of servers carrying food through the same front door customers use. Add the "please wait to be seated" crowd gathering in the narrow hallway and I'd describe things as organized chaos. But once I was seated, I was perfectly comfortable and out of the traffic pattern. One cool touch I noticed: outlets and USB ports built right into the front of the bar. Maybe that's common and I've somehow missed it all these years, but I thought it was pretty neat. Then my pizza arrived. Oh good lawd. OH. GOOD. LAWD. This pizza was SO GOOD! I knew from the first bite that I was in trouble. There was no sauce, which surprised me at first, but after approximately three seconds I no longer cared. The sausage was plentiful. The broccoli added texture. The ricotta was creamy and rich. And that lemon oil?! That lemon oil set it off! Everything just worked together perfectly. The Calabrian peppers arrived on the side exactly as requested. I bravely sampled a very small amount on my fork before desecrating my pizza and quickly determined that folks with stronger heat tolerance than me will absolutely love them. They were just a little too spicy for my delicate tastebuds. Thankfully, the pizza was incredible without them. And those slices? MONSTERS. I ate one and seriously contemplated a second before reminding myself that I had dessert plans elsewhere. A box was requested. Self-control was exercised. Barely. As a solo diner, I also want to give White Rabbit extra points. Multiple staff members checked on me throughout the meal. I never felt forgotten, rushed, or weird sitting by myself. Everyone was warm, kind, and made me feel completely comfortable. I really appreciated that. My total bill came to $32.44 including tip which felt really reasonable given the amount of pizza I consumed and brought home. Worth every penny. I'm already scheming my next two-hour drive back. Maybe a smashburger. Maybe those Brussels sprouts everyone keeps raving about. Maybe another pizza. Maybe all of it! I highly recommend checking out White Rabbit. Make it a destination, not just a stop while you're in the area. Don't let the size of the place or the wait scare you off. It's totally worth it. PRO TIP: If you park in the Church Street Parking Garage, look for the staircase labeled "STAIR 3." White Rabbit is literally right outside the door at the bottom. No hide-and-seek required!
