Usually go on week days or Saturdays with my family but this past weekend we decided to go on Sunday and I had never had a unpleasant service or nothing of that nature the cashiers are always nice but this young man no matter how kindly we tried to interact with him as we usually do whenever we go any other day he was not interested in giving a good service or he's probably not friendly the whole time the kitchen crew was as nice as usual but this young man at the cash register wasn't having a good day and got some of our orders wrong and my husband has allergies and it has nothing to do with having a bad day it's just not a good look on the restaurant hopefully it never happens again or maybe we just shouldn't go on Sundays read more

The service is awesome and as far as ambiance goes it's everything you would expect. They have a special large one topping pizza deal for $10 I loved it. Love this restaurant. We have been going here since they opened, it's been years, over 20. I've tried nearly everything and have never been disappointed. Subs, salads, and pasta dishes and all are very delicious. The price is comparable to most other real Italian carry outs. It's not a Subways, there is no comparison. you get what you pay for. It's not a fancy restaurant, it's a casual dining experience. If you want good food this is the place to go. I suggest the Italian, Steak and cheese, Pizza ( of course), Calamari, Chef Salad and for Pasta, it's hard to choose, either Fettuccine Bolgnese, Tortellini Alla Vodka or if you like seafood try Linguine Posillipo. There is one thing that could be changed to make for a better review, the subs are packaged in a covered tin dishes and the ends are chopped off. While visiting Frederick, Maryland (where I lived between 1993-98) I had a chance to drive around to see what has changed in the last 25 years. Of course, many of my favorite restaurants were gone. But that left room for many new places for me to rave about. Case in point, Pizza Blitz. I had a pizza craving late in the evening and spotted this restaurant on my way back to my in-laws. It was about 15 minutes before closing and I felt bad about entering and asking if they were still serving. I know that you can place orders at most restaurants until they're officially closed, but having worked in many (and agreeing with the crew's response in the comedy movie, "Waiting"), I know what it's like when someone walks in at the last minute. Juan (whom I believe to the owner) smiled and told me he would be glad to serve me. I promised that I would get it "to go" to spare his crew from having to clean up our dining table. He offered to make it by the slice or as a whole pizza. I opted for a full pizza to keep them from having to cut anything. I ordered a medium sausage, pepperoni, onion and green pepper. As we waited for the pizza to cook, he and I talked about how the area had changed since I relocated. He also expressed his gratitude for my choosing his restaurant to satisfy my craving. It was ready in no time and he honored my request to bring it out for me to photograph before boxing it up. I even asked him to take a few more with him in the shot (see photo), to which he laughingly announced to his crew, "I'm about to be famous!" We shared a few final laughs before I thanked him sincerely for his kindness and service before exiting. Sitting in the car parked in front of his door, my wife and I immediately dove into the steaming hot pie and were pleasantly surprised. Not that I doubted him... Let's start with the crust. As far as bread goes, this was about as close as I have ever been to authentic the New York-style pizza I had in Brooklyn. Firm, with a slight crunch and very flavorful. I could honestly have made a meal out of the bread alone. As I pulled the bite away, I got a nice, gooey cheese pull that thankfully didn't burn my lower lip and chin. The sausage and pepperoni were well-seasoned and baked perfectly. The onions and peppers were fresh and brought it home with a nice raw, yet cooked texture and taste. This pizza was goooood. By the time Juan and his team closed and locked up the joint, we were hidden behind our windows that mimicked a mirror after a hot shower. I quickly rolled mine down to tell him that the pizza was wonderful and they all laughed because they didn't realize we were still there and eating, instead of driving home. This was my first time here -certainly not the last! The food was pretty good. I ordered a Philly Steak& Cheese and loved it, the bread was toasty and had lots of meat, I usually order a side of marinara sauce which made it just perfect. Also from the kids menu I ordered Chicken fingers, which comes with a ton of fries but most importantly, the batter they use make it so nice, golden, crispy and delicious -I think I want to try only chicken fingers for diner next time -is gonna be a hard decision. Driving through town on the way elsewhere. Tried this place on a whim as it was local, one $, and had good reviews. Did not disappoint. We had pizza by the slice (3) and 2 fountain. Drinks for $15. Slices are large, thin crust and crispy. Much better than burger sacks for the same price. Lunch crowd was small when we were there, and service was fast AND pleasant (not always a given these days). The ONLY downside was the fountain drinks weren't available to go, and since qe were on a trip it would have been convenient. Would definitely stop by here again if in the area. read more

I ordered 2 pizzas online yesterday, 5/31/23 for delivery through Door Dash. I asked that it be placed on the front porch (options were porch or garage) between 7 pm - 7:20 pm. while it was in time there were serious problems. 1) The boxes were dropped in the garage floor. 2) Upon opening the boxes it looked both pizzas had been tipped upside down and sideways at some point. They we're both slopped and glopped inside the box, pieces all apart and stuck upside down, on top of each other, stuck to the side of the box, toppings slid off and all over the box. I tried to push it all back in place but the pizzas were cold enough that it was like glue now. We only ate it because I'd just brought an out of state family member home from BWI and we were starving. it was getting too late to order something else or go out. I paid $64 for this sludgy mess and that included a tip of $11 to the driver. 3) The topping ingredients were pretty poor. The mushrooms looked and tasted like they came from a can. I popped in here for lunch the other day, and to be honest, it was my third choice. The subway down the street was too busy, the taco place couldn't get me out of there fast enough, and this place serves pizza by the slice. I ordered a slice of pepperoni and one was just mushrooms, and while I waited, gentleman next to me went on and on about their cheesesteaks so I ordered one of those, as well. I'm not really a Cheesesteak girl, but I have to say it was delicious. But what was really good? The pizza! I was very surprised that it was as good as it was! We watched customers come in and out picking up orders while my toddler melted down. We rate pizza on four categories...1) crust consistently and flavor; 2) sauce flavor; 3) cheese consistency and flavor; and 4) toppings. 1) The crust had no flavor and was dry. Rating 4 of 10 2) The sauce was ok but there wasn't enough of it. Rating 4 of 10 3) The cheese was too salty and there wasn't enough of it. Bought their 16 inch meat lovers pizza and a serving of bruchetta. The price includes 5 toppings on the pizza. It was just ok. The taste was good the tomato sauce was good. The toppings were just thrown in the center of the pizza. (all of them). this created a rather gooey center and nothing in the 3-4 inches of the outside circumference of the pizza itself. The onions were weird. It's like they had a bad taste. I've only encountered this bad tasting onion once at a pizza place where I used to live and I never went back there. I also bought the bruchetta. They toasted the bread but it was obvious that the topping (the minced tomato and garlic) was taken out of the fridge and heated (poorly since it was cold). Just last week, I made a mistake placing an order online and called to try to change my order. They were not able to make the change on my pizza as they already placed it in the oven. Pizza Blitz was a stop on the impromptu pizza tour the Hubs and I decided to throw together a few weekends ago, and while he raved about the pizza then, I was too full at that point to even try it! We went back last night for dinner, and I was pleasantly surprised. First of all, they run a one topping large pizza special on Mondays for $9, so you can't really beat that. Staff was friendly and quick. The woman at the register was the one who told us about the special, which I appreciate, because other places would have kept quiet and let us pay $10 for a medium! Hubs got a large extra cheese pizza all to himself and was very happy with that decision (he had leftovers of course). We also got an order of mozz sticks that were very good - the cheese was perfectly melty and the sauce they use to accompany it is a vodka or rose sauce which is a bit of a twist and is a great change from all the standard marinara you get with other sticks. I wasn't feeling in the mood for pizza, so I opted for an eggplant parm sub. Bread was soft and fresh, eggplant was thinly shaved which I haven't experienced before on an eggplant parm sub, but again I appreciated the derivation from the norm here. It had that delicious rose sauce on it, and the sub was served with a bag of chips. Great portion sizes - I had half and ate the other half for breakfast this morning! Large cheese pizza is only $10 - great value. Specials are posted on a chalkboard at the counter. They also do calzones and other southern italian food like pastas, etc. - and a great variety of chicken, veal and seafood dishes. This location (in the Bloom plaza across from Ft. We got pizza and a sub from here right after we moved to the area and were not in the least bit impressed. That was easily a year ago so I figured it was time to try again. Unfortunately, our opinion stayed about the same. We ordered a few subs and chicken with fries for the kiddo. My husband got the sausage parmigiana which wasn't terrible and my mom got the deluxe Philly cheesesteak which was also okay. The bread got way too soggy too fast so not the best food for take out it seems. The chicken and fries was the best part really. Now, for my sub...I saw on their menu they had a prosciutto and mozzarella sub which sounded great. When ordering, the girl on the phone sounded confused by this. I should have taken that as a sign and changed the order because that was the grossest sub I have ever had. Both the prosciutto and mozzarella were weird colors and consistency. I'm not even sure it was actually prosciutto. Maybe it's not a menu item anymore? I wish they would have just said so if that was the case. Yucky. This place is the bomb for a quick bite! The cheese pizza is excellent!! Simple, perfect blend of cheese, sauce and crust - and always so hot. The steak and cheese subs are off the wall as well.
