Few weeks ago, I had a blow out on 680. No fun. Towed and dropped off my truck at Wheel Works overnight and called them up first thing the next morning. Spoke to Armando who helped me find a nice set of Firestones that happened to also be on sale. Woot. I could only fix the one tire, but he offered to honor the sale price when I do come in for the other front tire. Since it was a last minute type of drop off, he even had his team squeeze me in without an appointment. What? AMAZING. Came in later that day and spoke with Amil. Amil was super accommodating and friendly. He did caution me about my driver's side tire being dangerously worn, but I promised I'd be coming back soon to replace it. Sure enough, I came back this morning and Amil remembered me. I was in and out within an hour. Every staff member I've interacted with has been phenomenal and they have a lifetime customer in me now. I found the staff here to be very friendly and helpful - especially Mark and Paul. I brought my car in on Friday because the 'maintenance required' switch on my dashboard had turned red, and I had absolutely no idea what that meant. Paul told me that it meant that I needed an oil change - and chastised me for not bringing it in sooner! I was about to go grab my car and head to Jiffy Lube or someplace else to get my oil changed, but Paul told me that they did oil changes, and that he would only charge me $20. $20! Cheapest oil change I've ever been offered. While my car was up and the oil was being changed, one of the mechanics notice that my tires were balding and starting to crack. They offered to change my tires for me, and even had ones to match the one different one I'd gotten last year when my front left tire burst. I said sure, and they went to work. Well, it turned out that they only had 2 of the right kind of tires - but the Livermore location had an extra, and Paul drove all the way over there just to grab it for me. I had to leave before Paul was back, so Mark told me to just come back in and they would put the new tire on. I went back in today and it took them less than 15 minutes to get the last tire on - they took my car in right away, even though they had other cars that they were working on. These guys were really great, and I would totally go here again. I am super not-knowledgeable about cars and they didn't make me feel like an idiot, while at the same time gave me some great service. read more

It took three different attempts to get in and get service, and I finally had to make an appointment to ensure I could get my tire replaced. When I arrived for the appointment, it took them 30 minutes after checking in before they started working on my car. The work, though, was great and efficient. I couldn't beat the price, and the guys inside that helped me the day my car was serviced where incredibly helpful and thoughtful. Well worth the wait, but definitely make an appointment so you know you'll get something fixed and not wait around for hours. This place charges additional bogus charges. Misdiagnosed the issues. My car had no issues until I brought it in for a regular service check and then my breaks started making weird noises. When I went back they said I had to get my break pads and rotors replaced costing over $300 on top of the original 400 I paid for initial repairs. Then I took my car to the brand showroom for a second opinion and they said it was not at all an issue with the rotors and they don't have to be replaced. Just the break pads. read more

I'm a business owner from Lexura, this place have a lot of turn over you see different people every month, i deal with wheel works for the past 7 years no problem until the new kid show up, I was there 8-7-17 11:15am All I need him to do is replace all TPMS sensor with my original sensor! And the kid said to me no outside parts!! ???? This is not the first time I do this at wheel work?? The reason why I bring my own part is , I like original parts and at the same time I need the TPMS ID number so I can program them after!!! I bet they don't knows anything about it!! Photo past few years they take there customers cars here to troubleshoot a TPMS problem, and I didn't even charged them!! And they said "Alan we owe you an alignment " !!! Anyway I alway pay for it, is ok not a big deal!!! And I always referral all my customer for tires work there!! Bottom line, from now on no more referral to my customer for any tires work and alignment!!! I will recommend all my customer to edge motor work for tires and alignment!!!! Went in and tried to get a battery replaced on a battery due to the positive terminal corroded around post. Take in consideration I bought this battery here and under 5 year warranty. Guy checks out battery in my car and you can clearly see the post is badly damage. You can literally pull out the positive post if really tried hard. Thought it would be a quick in and out with a new battery prorated of course. Answer I got was these battery should withstand the battery acid and should not corrode like this. Let me take a picture and send to interstate and see if covered under warranty....are you kidding me? Took picture to send to interstate? Really? Said would call back next day for an answer....nothing. To my luck, next day car wouldn't start. Called wheel works in Hayward went in swapped out battery no problem..took all but 5 mins. I have to give this place 5 stars... They are AWESOME. The guys there are super nice and really went way and beyond to help me and my 4 kids. Yesterday, Halloween with my 4 kids in costume and all. I was driving on 680 when my car started acting funny and not driving right at all. I was able to drive my car off the freeway to Wheel Works. This is where all the guys there, especially one was super sweet and helped me with setting everything up to get my car to the right place, he set up a tow, rental car and even bough my kids all waters. They saved me yesterday and for that I am super grateful. I will definitely be back for tires when I need them. Thank you Wheel Works!!!! read more

Pathetic time management and service. I had an appointment today at 9 AM. This was booked at least 1 week in advance. I was there around 850 AM when I checked in. I asked for the ETA by when the car will be ready. They said it will take about 90 mins as they need to do oil change, inspect and rotate tires etc. I took few calls on the phone and kept my eyes on the car parked outside the service station. Time passed by. It was 945 AM. The car was not taken inside. I asked one of the associates when the service would start for my car as i had only 45 more more minutes. The guy stated that they would take care of it as soon as the other car is done. I told them that they gave an ETA of 90 mins and if they would be able to complete the work by 1030 (90 mins from 9 AM). He said yes. I told them I would still want them to do all checks as they agreed before though 50% of the time duration was already WASTED. He said not to worry. I waited again. It was 1011 AM. The car was not taken inside for service. This time i was very upset and asked him to handover the keys as I need to drive to work and i cant wait any longer. I dont think they would properly check everything they mentioned. The guy did not say any word and went inside to bring my car keys. I got the keys and they did not say sorry or anything. When I left, I just asked them why do they make appointments if they are not able to stick to the schedule that they agreed. The guys were again speechless. No courtesy to say sorry. Stupid service. I purchased tire through The Tire Rack and Wheel Works in Dublin is where they are sent in my area for installation. I was not called by anyone when the tires arrived. I called after a week and the tires had been there since the day after I ordered them. I waited another 2 days for an appointment. After arriving 5 minutes early, I was told to come back in a couple of hours. I asked about Wheel Works 59 minutes or less guarantee. "That is only if you buy tires from Wheel Works" is what I was told. It took them the full two hours to install 4 tires. On the way home my left rear hubcap blew off and was crushed by the Big rig behind me. Wheel Works said they will replace my cap. The place is dirty, crowded, no parking. If your going to drop $500.00 to $1000.00 bucks on tires go someplace you are treated well. This is not the place. Jeff read more

I had a puncture in my right front tires and needed to have it replaced. I made an appointment for the work. The tires were done ahead of promised time. They not only replaced the one tire but also took the care to rotate all of my tires! They made sure the new tire was mounted in the rear, observing safety standards. It is reassuring that I do not have to know all the details of what needs to be done. 5/21/2014 : I got my oil changed today and they did not put the oil cap back on, so as I drove 60 miles today oil was busting throughout my engine today. Do not trust these guys. BUYER BEWARE! Update 5/23/14: I called today about why I have not been contacted in the last two days, and the assistant manager told me "I better watch myself". The sales guys were clearly eager to make a sale, trying to tell us that we had to purchase 4 BRIDGESTONE tires on an 11,000 mi 2013 audi that has pirelli tires. Are you kidding me ? Not only that, but the pirellis were SUPPOSEDLY discontinued. Bottom line they were full of SHIT. Took the car to audi and got 1 tire replaced. The remaining 3 tires had some wear but not enough thread loss to have to buy all 4 wheels. Not to mention the pirelli tire is READILY available. If you drive a high end luxury car do not come here. I come to my appt. and they said it was a 1 year warranty on parts after Matt had told me on the phone there was a 2 year warranty. They finally agreed to honor the 2 years but with limitations. NEXT, I was told that they needed my car for 3 hours. I did some shopping nearby and its 3-1/2 hours and my car is still on the lift with my old rotors still in place. My family has been going here for years. Brought my car in for and oil change and some new tires today and was really happy with the service. They were FAST. I couldn't believe it. The staff was friendly and informative. They even gave me tips on what to do to make my new tires last longer and how to save on gas. I decided to wait in the store because they said it would only take an hour and a half and they were right. While I was there I listened in on the interactions the employees had with other patrons since what was on the TV was boring. As someone who works in customer service I can say I wish they worked for me. The guy at the front desk was very professional and interacted very well with even the more "interesting" people. I got my air filters and oil changed on Thursday and today I look under my hood and find PLIERS on my engine and my air filter not put on properly. Who leaves pliers on top of an engine? Do they not know how dangerous that could have been if it were to fall and hit something?! I understand you guys get busy and need to rush sometimes but that is not an excuse for shitty service and leaving tools under the hood. Beware! This place is HORRIFIC. Every time I brought my car there, they screwed something up. I got two new tires, and got a flat on the way home because they didn't switch out the old, bad one! Then I got the other two tires replaced, and got another flat a week later because they didn't bother to test the rims (one of which was cracked). Then they replaced my Oxygen Sensors in response to my check engine light being on (to the tune of 600 bucks), and on the way home...the light comes back on! They can't figure out why, and just want to keep replacing stuff. RIP OFF! Do not give them your money. The guys who work the front desk are great, but don't be fooled. Wheel works sent me a "customer satisfaction survey" after my recent visit to replace a battery. Thought I'd share with Yelp as well. Cliff Notes: Slow, slow, slow. (4+ hours for a battery change) Will not respect your vehicle. Do work in a manner that is dangerous for employees. Zero oversight from Managment. Will lie to get you in the store. Over promise, and under deliver. I came in to prorate a battery under warranty. Arrived at 1:30. Confirmed I would be waiting for the vehicle. At 2:30 I asked how much longer it would be, as they hadn't glanced in my vehicles direction, and the Techs were playing grab-ass in the shop. I was told there were three vehicles in front of me, and I was 4th inline. And that it should be ready sometime around 6:00pm. 4+ hours to do a battery swap? I ended up borrowing tools from O'rileys auto parts next door, and removing the battery myself. They then told me "oh wow that was fast!" And that they would run a diagnostic on my battery. I washed my hands sat down and waited. 20 minutes of waiting later, I asked about the diagnostic, and was told "I decided not to worry about that I put your new battery on top of the old one". (When exactly were you going to tell the customer?). So I then replaced the battery. The worrying things was watching a Tech work on a (2015-2016) Durango outside of a bay, and just slide a jack under it without looking for proper lifting points. Then take the right rear tire off while not using a Jack stand. Easy way to lose a leg. Then they left it sitting supported only by the jack, just sitting outside a bay. (Another car was on the rack of that bay, this was nosed in behind it blocking access to the shop.) huge safety issue. Secondly the Manager (Armondo?) had a gal come in with a check engine lights round 2:00. She had taken half a day off work. They pulled the code, and gave her a list of possible issues. Told her it was $165/hr to trouble shoot. She was ready to pay for that service, when she was told that the soonest she could do it was mid next week. She explained that The Manager had told her to come in and that they would get this resolved today. Tech went to speak with Manager. Came back and told her. "We only promised that we would resolve the check engine light. Which we have. We never promised that we could fix it today". Really chickenshit way to treat a customer. In the 2+ hours I was there Manager never left his office, and the people in the shop didn't seem to be working on anything, or win any speed. There was an older Hispanic man there who seemed to be the only person doing anything. Or anything correctly, with any sense of urgency. All in all, I was pretty horrified by what I saw, and how employees treated customers, and their vehicles. read more

Today was last straw for me! These guys are generally decent. The prices are also very low and they find discounts and coupons etc. But almost every time I bring my car here, the work is done wrong and I must bring my car back. I had brake work yesterday. I was barely able to drive it back today to learn they had used an incorrect torque setting. Last time I had new spark plugs replaced and they gave me the wrong plugs. My car died on freeway. About a year ago I got an oil change and they forgot to put oil cap back on. Oil spilled all over the engine and I had to waste my time going back etc. I deserve a lot of blame going back to these guys of course, but they always apologize and try to make it up to me. Today the cashier- Turner? Had the nerve, after I waited an hour with no information what the problem was this time, to lie to me that something was just "a little loose" and there would be no charge!!!! My wife just got a flat a few days ago took it in and the manager told me he could not repair. Took it to Ken's tires in Livermore he patched it no problem. Went to put air in my tire and found I had a loose valve stem core, so air was slowly leaking. Went over to wheel works and asked if someone could look at it. The guy followed me out to the car, glanced at the car, the tire in question, the front tire and asked me the mileage. I gave it to him. And we walked back in. He didn't take the cap off to inspect the problem. He wrote it up and said it was going to be $29.18. I was in a hurry, so I said sure, how long. He said "an hour". I said "an hour?!? I just need someone to look at the valve stem." He said "we have to dismount the tire to look at it.". How do you determine that without even looking at the problem. O'Reilly was luckily right next door. I walked in there, asked where the valve stem tools were. He directed me to aisle 3. Purchased for $3.82. Walked back over, tightened the valve stem and made sure it was holding. Drove to Chevron and filled the tire. Looking at the $29 quote it included the following charges Flat Repair/Patch Plug Flat Repair Labor Tire Balance The tire wasn't flat, as was obvious. It was leaking air from a loose valve stem. Their lose. I need to purchase tires for my wife's car and was going to get a quote from them to bring it in. Needless to said that's not going to happen. My advise...Listen to your customers. Look at the problem before determining the labor needed. I would have gladly paid the $29 if they would have just come out and actually looked at the problem. It would have taken less than a minute to fix, $29 in your register and probably a full set of new tires sold. read more
