This is my second time taking my cars to Steve and the team at Ashton. Both times the team took excellent care of our cars. He takes the time to thoroughly explain exactly what is the issue with your car and doesn't BS you to get another service done on top of what you're already getting. Pricing is VERY fair and reasonable. Definitely found my go to Auto shop when I need something taken care of. read more

Steve is very responsive, offer me the quote with all the details. They did the brake fluid flush and offer me the suggestions on some other outstanding issues. read more

Our 3 series had oil leak so came to Ashton. Steve was great to work with. Communicated through out the process, worked with me on pricing and did a fantastic job of getting this fixed and provided incremental checks free. Great experience and will be bringing all my vehicles here going forward. read more

I called the entire Bay Area for some shop to remove and install new bushings for my set of control arms (upper and lower). I live in Oakland. You'd think a city of that size would have one shop that has a press and could do this service. Nope, zilch, nada. Useless Oakland. But after countless calls, I finally found two shops. One all the way in San Jose, and this one, Ashton Auto Service. Run by the amazing Steve. He said bring them on. I took my Toyota OEM upper and lower control arms along with a set of 8 Toyota OEM bushings (super expensive). The old weathered old bushings were taken out and the new ones installed the same day. Yup, just like that. Now I have control arms that's going to outlast my 2003 Tundra, lol. I'm so appreciative that this service was available. Steve and crew are super friendly. The shop is spanking clean. The price was discussed and agreed upon before service and solidly priced. I couldn't be happier. I highly recommend Ashton Auto Service. Easily 5 out of 5 STARS!!!!!! read more

I have been taking my cars to Ashton for many years and will continue to do so. I have always been treated very well and unlike some places they are honest and will not suggest any unnecessary work. Their prices are in line with other shops and they get the work done quickly. Steve who I believe is the owner is great to work with. I have referred friends to them and they all agree its a great shop to use. read more

Great auto workshop! Friendly service, fair prices, and very quick to respond. Steve, the owner, genuinely seems to enjoy helping customers with their car issues, which makes a big difference. Highly recommend. much better experience than going to a dealer workshop. read more

Excellent communication skills, fast and competitive prices. I like that they have a waiting area and ample parking.

Fair pricing and good service. The owner takes the time to understand my needs and get my car fix in a timely manner.

Great quality services, Steve is amazing, and always does an amazing job, your vehicle is in great hands! Competitive pricing as well!

Towed my Mustang here because he had done work on it in the past and knew they have a good reputation. As expected, Steve diagnosed the issue, offered a very fair estimate and completed the job as promised and on time. Will absolutely come here in the future. Highly recommend this shop. read more

I had a BIG job - evaporator core replacement - Steve and his Team at Ashton Auto not only got my A/C back up and running, but handled the whole process in a manner that went above and beyond my expectations. They kept in the loop and even sent pictures. Highly satisfied and will be going back for all my auto needs - oil changes included! read more

I'm so happy that I was referred to Ashton Auto!! My A/C died, and I called around for several quotes. When I called Schuck's, they sent me their way. Steve explained each of the possible scenarios and gave me a quote for each: he also encouraged me to check with my dealership to verify it didn't have any recalls on the parts before coming in. I was able to bring my truck in that morning and had it back same day!!! I appreciate the responsiveness, time and integrity they served up!! Support your local businesses!! read more

Broke down while traveling, they performed a difficult repair, car returned to me in half a day. As others have said, the communication was excellent, and the price was reasonable. read more

I met Steve and he's an awesome honest mechanic. His shop is my go to place now. He's done several things on my jeep. Thx Steve.

Steve was knowledgeable and friendly. He gave me a detailed, itemized estimate. His pricing was fair, and the turnaround was quick (for new rotors and brakes, brake fluids, and engine coolants). read more

I've been taking my car to Ashton Auto Service for over 3 years and I've had such a good experience with them. The customer service is great! Any issues or recurring maintenance needed I always went here. They are always honest, good pricing, and never tried to upsell what I didn't need. I always refer everyone to Ashton Auto Service! read more

Recently took our 2017 5.0 Mustang in to Ashton for a manifold issue. Did my research before so knew what I was getting into. The guys at Ashton were awesome, honest and worked with integrity. They advised that my issue was minor and wouldn't cost as much as estimated. However, after further testing and explanation the fix wasn't as minor but they went out of their way to keep the cost down. The problem with the manifold was exactly what I had researched and they were honest. The turnaround was quick and had the car back in no time. Been and will be a repeat customer. read more

Seconding everything folks have said about Steve & his team. We had a problem with an older Ford Explorer that the dealership had basically said, "Eh, it happens, what're ya gonna do?" The Ashton folks figured it out & went above & beyond to find an affordable solution. read more

Steve and the guys has been servicing my SUV , BMW and Honda for years. Great service and even better customer service. Would absolutley recommend. read more

I had a warped exhaust manifold on my F-150. I did a lot of research before I went in for a repair. I brought my truck to two shops before coming here. I told both of them exactly what I needed, and why. Both shops still managed to mis-diagnose the problem, so I left. I was referred to Ashton by another shop and they assured me that I would be in good hands. The difference this time? Steve, the owner, LISTENED to me. Steve and his mechanic talked to me in detail about the issue, THEN did the inspection with me. I talked to them about the repair in detail. I even shared a YouTube video that helped me explain my issue, as well as to identify some related parts I wanted to replace as a preventative measure Steve never acted like I was trying to do his job for him (unlike the other two shops, where I felt like I was being a burden). Instead, he worked with me to make sure we were on the same page and everything got done right the first time. Here's the best part: This is a major repair. When I dropped off the truck, Steve said he would be done either by the end of the next day or early the following day. "No problem", I said, "I'm in no hurry, take your time". Well, that afternoon I experienced a family emergency. I called Steve the next morning. He not only got the repair done by the end of the day, it was done well before that. Service like that? PRICELESS. Steve has a heart of gold. Now, I have a new manifold, some new parts I had never heard of before and I couldn't be happier. Two thumbs up for Ashton Auto Repair. read more

There was one time the latch to my hood was having issues. I came in near the close of business, and Steve repaired it within 10 minutes free of charge. It's this kind of service that has made me a customer for life. They are honest and go out of their way to make sure you don't get ripped off. read more

If I could give more than 5 stars I would. I needed new breaks and rotors asap and a friend recommended I come here because of how honest they are with pricing. I called this morning and just based on how nice the guy over the phone was, I didn't even call anyone else. Brought it in a little after 9 am and it was done by 12:30. I honestly couldn't believe I was getting the call that it was already done. (mind blown) And on top of it Steve replaced some missing lug nuts and changed my oil. I've been to a lot of automotive shops and dealt with a lot of unfriendly service guys. Steve was seriously the most friendly, quick and to the point. Never using anyone again. 10/10 RECCOMEND ツ Thanks Steve. read more

What a phenomenal experience. What you get here is top notch customer service with a top notch mechanic team. This place reminds me of the mechanic my grandfather went to. A place less common now; where good people are doing good work at a reasonable cost. Ask around the area and reputable car places will point to Ashton Auto Service. I brought one of my older cars here for a look-over and asked if they can fix some issues. They gave it a thorough look-over, fixed some issues, and wrote a summary at a reasonable price. They identified issues and gave recommendations. They also recommended places in the area specializing in certain things they don't. E.g. transmission issues, 35 year old carburetor electronics Steve is very easy to work with. The more you talk with him the more you can see he's honest and a good person. Note: Check out all the 5 star Yelp reviews from real people that have written a lot of Yelp reviews. Looks like a lot of people feel similar read more

Steve is great! He is now my regular goto guy for my ICE cars! Honest and he explains everything and gives you options when available.

Update: So glad I found this place. Steve is knowledgable and incredibly helpful. When you bring your vehicle here, you can be sure you are dealing with a competent and honest family business. All our family cars go to Ashton for maintenance and repairs. I assume there's some things they don do, but so far they've handled everything I've needed. I've had a lot of car repairs and maintenance o er the years and Ashton is by far the BEST. read more

It's always nice to know when a repair shop quotes a price that they honor their price without surprises. I emailed the shop on Yelp and was quoted a price to replace the rotors and brake pads on my Lexus ES350. I was quoted what I feel were some high prices from other shops and yet Ashton Auto is honest and very competitively priced. Obviously, they won out over the other shops because of their quote. When I picked up my Lexus, the guy at the front office was professional and quoted other prices for items I felt needed attention. Car stops great now without the judder that it had prior to taking it to Ashton Auto. Cheers to Ashton Auto! read more

I would give 10 stars if Yelp allowed me. We have gone here for years, starting with our used 2004 Dodge Ram and now our Chevy Silverado -- I trust these folks 100%, great work, super honest, fair prices. Really, truly first rate. I will never have my vehicles serviced at the dealership again, only going here from now on!!! read more

I previously provided a five star review of Ashton Auto Service but I wanted to write another review because these guys are just awesome. Took my brand new vehicle to them to ask about wheel service and not only were they just purely honest with me about what they can and cannot do, but they provided me with a referral to someone they recommend who was able to get the job done immediately. So just a big shout out to these guys for being honest and trustworthy. Sadly, hard to find these days. read more

Prompt reliable replacement of exhaust header on my Tundra. They gave an estimate and stuck to Bk it.

I can confidently recommend Ashton Auto, and I often do so to family and friends in the area. I have always had a good experience bringing my car here. They are always a pleasure to do business with and treat customers with professionalism and honesty. I first brought my car here after Midas Dublin recommended a costly replacement on an "unsafe" brake pad. After Ashton Auto had a look, it turned out not only the brake pads were safe to drive with but had plenty of life left on them as well. My experience with Ashton Auto has consistently been a joy like the first one ever since, and it's probably been over 8 years now. read more

I have been a customer for 2+ decades and recommended many others that are now customers. Best honest service ever! Prices are fair and are exact on the time it will take to repair. Being a single women, it is such a great feeling to trust my cars with this facility. read more

Great work, great customer service. Took my car in with a mystery diagnosis that the dealer was guestimating the issue on. (Dealer wanted 300 bucks to start taking the car apart after already spending 250 on the diagnostic fee) They quickly found the problem within a few hours of dropping off my car (completely clogged/melted catalytic converter and o2 sensors), they ended up having the car done by the end of the day! Due to circumstances out of my control, I wasn't able to pick up the car for nearly two weeks, which they had no problem with (no storage fee like some shops) All in all, I picked up my car and everything was fixed, for WAY cheaper and quicker than the dealer was quoting (saved me about a grand and a few weeks) Hopefully I don't need anything more than routine maintenance in the future, but if I do, I'm certainly getting my car worked on here read more

Very professional and helpful!! They went above and behind to fix my header leaks. I will come to them from now on my 2000 4Runner. Thanks Ashton! read more

The dealership told me that I had an oil leak. I took my Rav4 to Ashton and they took a look at it while we went to lunch. Ashton let me know that the leak was a "touch of oil" - and I wouldn't need to have it fixed until the leak actually started showing on the garage floor. I appreciated Ashton's honesty and felt better at knowing how "serious" or "not serious" this leak was. read more
