My wife has a 2018 Hyundai Elantra which started stalling at red lights. At first it happened only once a month then it became once a week then eventually it was once a day. We took her car to multiple auto shops and they all said that the code scanner did not come back with any error and when they test drove it it drove fine. A friend of ours recommended us to take the car to Sun Auto Service. We spoke with Shawn and he was able to take us in right away. Him and his team was the only shop that's been able to diagnose the issue. He ended up replacing the crankshaft sensor. The car has been driving perfectly ever since with no issues. Shawn was very friendly and professional. Him and his shop is also very honest and did not try to replace anything unnecessary. We would highly recommend Sun Auto to anyone that needs their car serviced. read more

I had a great experience with Mike at Sun Auto Shop. I brought my Prius in for a complex brake system repair (ABS module and pump), and Mike was professional, friendly, and very easy to work with from start to finish. He offered a very fair and competitive price, and what impressed me most was that he stands behind his work with a 2-year warranty on both parts and labor. He took the time to show me the diagnostic results to confirm the calibration was successful before I picked up the car. If you are looking for a reliable mechanic in the Dublin/San Ramon area who delivers high-quality work at a reasonable price, I highly recommend Sun Auto Shop! read more

Came here cause our van died while passing through Dublin. Shawn was incredibly helpful and kept assuring us he would get us out of there by end of day. His patience with our endless questions and level of professionalism is phenomenal. My little family and I are grateful for Shawn and his team. They were proactive and worked hard to ensure that we in fact would leave by end of day. Not only that but he made sure my kids were comfortable by offering a place for them to sit, giving them water and turning the on the AC. He went above and beyond. I would absolutely recommend this auto shop. Price is beyond fair given that this was not a planned visit. Thank you Sun Auto Services for your impeccable service and hospitality! read more

I took my car here and they changed my spark plugs and coils when they didn't need to be changed. When he replaced my coils, he only replaced three to start with then my car misfired again the next day took it back there to get the fourth one replaced. asked him why all four weren't changed at the same time. He said that he had to wait for the last part from HONDA! so he indicated all my parts were Honda parts. He even gave me two different prices for aftermarket and Honda parts. I decided to go with the Honda parts. & I just took my car to Honda. They have indicated that they are all aftermarket and he charged me for Honda parts. This place is horrible. They didn't fix my car at all !!! Horrible read more

They were very nice and experienced. I liked how they brought me over to show what they were seeing and weren't forceful in adding on repairs to the service, they also talked to me like a friend. I've had experiences where mechanics talked to me like I was at the doctors and had serious problems. Very cool guys all around read more

A new shop in Dublin. Although small, the owner/mechanic is super knowledgeable about my car's issues. When I pulled up, he was working on a Aston Martin! Which to me is a good sign. My old little smartcar was making some noises and I didn't want to bring it to Benz dealer who'll charge me an arm and leg so I brought it here. They make sure to verify my complaints and were able to explain to me what the problem was. Pricing was fair, especially for an honest mechanic. This is my dedicated shop from now on. read more

I am always wary of car mechanics. The asymmetry in the knowledge between us and the mechanics means that we typically get played and either overcharged or convinced to get some services done which are otherwise not needed. My Sienna had one of the headlight bulbs blown out. I contacted various other mechanics, and their appointments were at least a week away. With the holidays approaching and travel plans in place, I needed to get this fixed at the earliest. I called this shop. The owner Shawn Mai said he could get it done on the same day and would cost me $40, which was just a small markup over the price of the bulb. I took the car to him. Shawn was very friendly and fixed the bulb in about 5 minutes. Interestingly, once he fixed the bulb, he looked at me and said, "now you know how easy is to fix this, next time you could do it yourself" !!!!. He then helped me fix some interior plastics. Each of his work was very thorough and neatly done. Interestingly, he did not charge me extra for the plastics repair. I urged him to charge me a fair amount for the time that he spent in fixing the plastics. To which he said "it is ok, I have time". If I had taken this to a dealership, I would have been charged at least $500. I have never seen such as honest, simple and friendly mechanic before. Such people should be encouraged. I have decided to take both my cars to Shawn for all works in the future. I urge others to do so as well. read more
