Hello... First of all, I have always gone to the Acura Dealership to have all my services done on my 2003 Acura TL s. I never could find an independent Auto Repair shop which I felt comfortable with. But because of the escalating repair costs at the Dealership, I researched Precision Auto Repair and its knowledge specifically with Honda and Acura Vehicles on Yelp. I spoke to Keven over the phone, and after conferring my concerns and the necessity for a number of issues to bring my vehicle up to service, Keven stated he would write up and estimate and send it via email. Later on in the day, I received a detailed report via email of all the issues that needed to be addressed. These coincided with most of the issues on my list with a few added. Pictures and estimated costs were included with this report. After going over the repairs with Kevin, I brought in my vehicle the next day. After several days, all the work was completed, and the price was very reasonable. I found their work to be extremely thorough, and I will for sure be using Precision Repair for all my future Acura needs in the future. I stopped going here because at first they charged 75$ for an oil change and last time I went they charged me $195. Maybe because I'm a woman they took advantage of me on top after less than driving 3k miles my oil light came on. And when I went I seen quite a bit of elders there that clearly were being taken advantage of. I don't appreciate the dishonesty and honestly for $195 I could've went to my dealership for tire rotation and inspection of the car. It's genuinely disappointing what this company has become, greedy. During my first visit I recommended this place to others but I quickly called them to inform them of this crappy experience I had and made sure they don't come here for any service. Ken is extremely rude and treats you as if you are supposed to know everything already. I came all the way from stockton for 60K service because of the good reviews and he forced me to get a rental car even though i offered to wait in town while working from coffee shop. He claimed work will take more than a day. Upon drop off he did not warn me that i would need to pick up by 5 pm and return rental at that time also. He called me at 3:40 pm and i called him back once i could at 4 pm and he pretty much raised his voice at me to return the car asap as another client is waiting for it first thing in the morning. Like what do you expect me to do??? you did not even warn me i would bleed to return the car same day: i thought it was a 24hr thing . just awful very rude guy, thins he knows it all and treats you poorly if you are a woman. read more

Called Precision Auto Repair on recommendation from Collision Auto where I had my headlight replaced, Keith answered the phone and made me an appointment for next day for complete evaluation of my 2003 Toyota Echo with 250,000+ miles on it. We just moved here from Lodi and didn't know any auto mechanics, gave us a copy of evaluation and listed a price, included pictures of problems that they found, very fair. Left my car and was called that afternoon telling me that my car was ready. Very easy and professional facility. Would highly recommend this Auto repair facility. read more

The small, rear fold down seat in the back of my 2022 Odyssey would not fold down into the space to create a flat, cargo space. I contacted Kevin at Precision Auto and he was sure he could fix it. He had never seen the problem before but there isn't anything he cannot fix on a Honda. He has been working on mine forever. A copy of the design, a part from Honda - take apart the entire seat down to the wires....and change the oil. My cars are never going any where else. Went in for a tire/wheel rotation. When I picked up the car, I noticed that one of the wheel covers was not seated completely so I fixed it before I left the parking lot. The next day, a different wheel cover flew off while driving, so that one was (likely) installed incorrectly as well. I couldn't find a replacement so I had to buy four for $89. Do we know that the lost wheel cover was caused by Precision auto? Well, I didn't lose one for the six years I've owned the car, but lost it the day after Precision service, so we can do the math. There was also a missing valve stem cap on one tire. The guy putting air in the tire either lost it or it wasn't there to begin with. Either way, they couldn't be bothered to grab a new one. Imagine if they had to do something complicated. Update after response from business owner: Thank you for the response. This is perfect. The response was exactly what I expected - 'It's not our fault, you can't prove it, and parts wear out'. If I had given you the opportunity to rectify the situation as you suggested, we now know how you would have handled it. read more

I just wanted to write a real, not fake account, review due to what Vega S. wrote in her review on 12/8/2023. I don't normally write Yelp reviews at all (I use another review site) although I do include Yelp in my research. I have been using Precision for a number years (can't remember how long - maybe around a decade) for 3-5 vehicles (how many depends on how long it's been). They have always performed excellent service and the worst thing they have ever done is leave the paper floor mat in on the driver side once. They are also very proactive - alerting me to things that will eventually require work including pictures and physically showing me if it's safe to do so. I feel compelled to write this review for Precision Auto Repair in the wee hours of the New Year 2025 because of how incredibly grateful I am to them for their exceptional service. For starters, they accommodated me on short notice very close to the new year. I brought my Acura TLX in to have it inspected for oil leaks from the oil pan and the oil pump and to have both fixed, if required. I was immediately impressed by their confidence, competence and clarity. I was given an estimate right away, which I thought was more than fair. Diagnosis was quick. Suffice it to say that Precision Auto Repair more than lived up to their motto "Honesty and Reliability You Can Count On!". I was given a rental car since the work was significant and they needed to keep my car overnight. I wasn't really expecting to get my car back before the new year but early in the evening on New Year's Eve I got a call from Ken informing me that my car was ready to go! How's that for service and dedication to one's craft! Wanted to add an update. I had to use them again and had another great experience. My wife's alternator went out on Thursday around 4:00pm. I called Precision Auto and spoke with Kevin (? I think that was his name). He let me know we could have the car towed there, AND that we didn't have to be there to have it dropped off. He said they were full on Friday, but if they could squeeze it in he would try. Long story short we got our car back on Friday around 4:30pm so we had it for the weekend. Cant thank you enough. We brought our car in for a tune-up, nothing appeared wrong with the vehicle, just general maintenance. Overall - the service was friendly and fast. We made an appointment and dropped off the vehicle right when they opened - the day after a holiday. *We waited a few in the car, so they wouldn't feel rushed to immediately help us upon opening - we wanted to make sure they had time to get coffee and turn on your computer. One person ran in front of us to get in first. It was raining and dark (since it was so early). The location is tucked away in the back, but we followed GPS and had been there before and they have a large sign so we found it easily. There are 2 parking spots, just in front of the office (on the left) or plenty of spots along the wall, across from the shop (on the right when you pull in). Service was fast - I got my car back that evening. Notes: - I've heard from friends/family that they have a driver that can bring you home if you need a ride. I did not use this service. - It looked like they had a nice waiting area (to the right) when you entered the office, but they got us right in, so we did not venture that way. - They had masks and hand sanitizer available for customers. - They offer some coupons - join their mailing list. read more

I planned for auto repair in advance. I don't live in Pleasanton but I arranged service with a drop off early in the morning and took time off of work. This was perfect because I could head back to my home after morning servicing before the hideous commute traffic of the area. During the day I was able to teach a youth class and visit some friends in Pleasanton and I was working around the auto shop's stated schedule. I dropped the car off in the morning per their specified drop off timing. I was told that the car would be ready by 1 PM or they would call me. My class went overtime and I wasn't able to make it there until 2 PM. When I arrived I was informed that they had not even begun work on my car because they were just so busy with so many cars. Over scheduling themselves was not a situation they brought up to me during drop off nor should it be my problem. They should schedule what they can manage without putting the onus on the customer to just keep waiting. They informed me that it would be nearly an hour before they could consider getting my car into the schedule and the traffic was already piling up on a Friday. I had to demand my keys back more than once and turn down their offers to drive nearly an hour out of my way each way with a rental on another day when I didn't have the day off to convenience their business hours schedule. I left without my car serviced being informed by them and told that this is not reflective of their performance. It is my one and only experience with them therefore it is reflective of their performance with my business. I will have to take more time off that I don't get to spend with my family to get this done somewhere reliable. read more

Tyler took care of me during this minor service They diagnose a couple of additional problems. 1) transition chucking sound when Prius transition from electric to gas,....engine was shifting and hitting the smog shield. Gas gauge was always off so he had his mechanical reset the computer to regain the sensor. read more

I contacted my local Honda dealer to perform my 5K service - an oil change. They wanted $75 for full synthetic! Nope, ain't happening. I called a couple of shops and Precision Auto Repair promptly answered my call. I got a quote for $55, which is much more reasonable. The staff was courteous, mechanics are ASE certified. I peeked into the shop and it was tidy, and organized. Being a former mechanic, this is a reflection of the service they will provide. It's subjective, but I've always found that to be true. A Spotless bathroom, nice waiting area with internet access wrap up the package. We'll see if they will earn my business, becoming my local service center. For now, I'm quite happy! read more

Don't hesitate, let this be your first and only call for vehicle servicing... Diagnostic / Ignition Repair After doing my own tune up on 2011, Lexus, is250, my vehicle started to sputter, idle rough, check engine light and misfires... mind you, I do not trust many shops and prefer doing my own work unless it is past my ability. I couldn't figure out what was wrong, considering that I purchased the "correct" parts for my vehicle and it wasn't my first tuneup. I can replace parts but diagnosing problems isn't up my ally, so I decided to take it to a shop. I called a few "Lexus specialist" told them what I replaced, what was going on and asked if I could bring it in. They all said no and recommended me to take it to the dealer. "P.A.R." Was my last call, but should have been my first! They were so confident they could find the problem that they simply told me to bring it in. I felt their confidence level was to good to be true but I made an appointment and decided to give them a shot over the dealer (based on yelpers ). The moment I walked in, I felt that the shop wasn't shady, felt upscale, greeted me with great customer and quickly brought in. I provided full details on what I replaced, there was no hesitation and their confidence level was reassuring. After my free courtesy ride to work, and in just a couple hours later they had diagnosed the problem... The NGK ruthenium spark plugs I purchased specifically for my vehicle were incorrect. The parts store sold me the wrong plugs, causing misfire and destroying my coils that were still in good condition. They replaced the plugs and coils, gave me the old parts to return to the parts store and finished up the job. Thank you P.A.R. For not turning me away and sending me to the dealer, finding and fixing the problem! You have gained my trust and I plan to take all my vehicles to you for repairs as needed!!!! read more
