What an amazing find for me! Talk about luck. I don't live in the area but I had the terrible luck of hearing my brakes make noise on the way to work. Found this place on a fluke but when I went in, Kam was very attentive and helped me right away. He was able to work with me on how long the repair was to take and how much it would cost. The price was fair and I was out roughly about the time he told me the car would be done. If you have money to waste this is your place! Water pump and temp sensor replacement quote of 1,050 dollars is what they hit me with. I got quoted $480 at a mechanic shop in Newark. So I had AAA tow my car there instead. The 480 included the parts! And Harry's wanted to test for other things so who knows what would have been the total damage if I didn't know this other shop . The diagnostics charge was 175. Take your car elsewhere before these thieves look at it. read more

Highest recommendations. We've been regular customers at Harry's for our vehicles' repair and maintenance for several years, and will continue to do so. A few days ago our Volvo suddenly stopped going, luckily where we could coast off the road to a safe spot. We had it towed to Harry's, where they looked at it and found that an air duct between the air cleaner and intake manifold had worked its way loose. Luckily, I had a great experience at Harry's. Getting in for a diagnosis was a bit of a wait, but once I was in they were quick, they were honest about what needed to be repaired and didn't try to sell me anything else. I was given an accurate estimate, the cost was reasonable and the work itself was completed quickly. They even replaced my blinker light for free because I had no idea how to do it myself. This is a quick update - I had used this auto repair business 2 years ago to get my older, 2003 Subaru Baja smog certified. I had a very good experience and noted that in my previous review. This year, I took to them, again. Too my surprise, their price for a smog inspection had changed only slightly in price. The previous was $26.95, including the $8.25 Certificate charge. This time, it was $29.95. Just as in the past, these folks are very well organized and efficient. I wasn't here more than 15 minutes and they had other cars and service to tend to so it wasn't as if they waited around with nothing to do. They also were diligent about Covid 19 virus prevention. All the staff wore masks and they were practicing 'Social Distancing.' I would be pleased about taking my vehicles there for smog or repair in the future. Jim read more

I took my car in after a bad dealership experience that failed to diagnose my cars weird noise. They said it's first come first serve so I made sure to get in at 8am. They were attentive and quickly identified the issue. Given the positive experience we brought my partner's car in and again they quickly identified the issue. I was visiting Pleasanton when my car died at Costco. I called AAA and since Harry's Auto Repair was on the list of recommended repair shops I told the driver to take me there. Upon arrival at the shop I told the daughter of the owner (receptionist) the issue was the starter yet when I received my final invoice still charged me $189 for "diagnostic"! Usually that price is deducted from the total repair cost. Then overcharged me on the price of the starter. The GM site sells a brand new AC Delco starter for $401. A shop's cost is usually less than that! They charged me $646!! The straw that broke the camel's back is a charge of $32 for credit card use. For a total bill of $1,103!! I would have used a debit card if this was disclosed to me. I am very disappointed with this business. I can't believe AAA recommended this shop. This business owes me at least a $480 refund!! My 2014 Toyota Prius C had an off and on annoying rattling sound down below the engine that two different dealership mechanics two different times (in Humboldt County) without finding anything. Taking it into Harry's they found and fixed the problem so quickly I did not even have time to get a cup of coffee. And they only charged me half of the original quote as it did not take so much time and effort. What was easy for them made a world of difference for me as I was nervous not knowing what the noise was... now that it is gone it is like getting my peace of mind back driving my car. Dishonest auto shop do not trust this place they basically robbed me of 1,800 dollars, told them I had an oil censor code being thrown and they told me no it's something else. 1,800 dollars later my check engine light turns back on and guess what it's the oil sensor code being thrown again took my vehicle to a trusted auto shop to be repaired. CROOKS!- DISINGENUOUS LIARS! - BEAWARE OF OVERPRICNG! Had my 2011 Toyota Prius towed into Harry's 2 weeks ago. The engine was rattling badly on the Freeway. Harry's rep looked at it the next day. As i was traveling through i stayed at a local motel to wait. After some prodding in the AM that i needed the auto by end of day, they did an evaluation at a $180 cost . There were three (3) ignition coils that were 'bad'. The cost for these parts were $200 EACH + tax. Interesting that I had one replaced 7 months earlier at a shop in Los Angeles which charged $100 + tax for the SAME part. The HARRY"s Rep at the counter told me that i needed the BEST parts for this. This was NOT TRUE as i found out later through research that these parts routinely fail 'after 60k Miles. There is no need to get the 'Top of the line'. He was UPSELLING. Harry's MARKUP appeared to be 100%. Therefore , the reputable mechanic in LA ALSO had a 'markup and STILL came out at $100. Harry's 'DOUBLED THE already HIGH PRICE and made $100 profit on EACH PART. I walked out of there paying $840 for service and PARTS that should have been at least $200 - $300 LESS. I don't deride this service facility to 'MAKE A PROFIT. However, this charging for these parts were 'BEYOND a REASONABLE markup. HARRY"S has a very well maintained office and accommodations for customers. THERE IS A REASON. The HIGHER PRICES go to pay for this shop. I SINCERELY DOUBT THAT HARRYS' provides services that are 'best for your wallet' as they DESCRIBE ON THEIR WEBSITE. They PRICE GOUGE on parts. Have a 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee with 5.7 Liter Hemi Motor. The heater hose failed and needed replacing. They originally quoted $1,200 because the dash needed to be peeled back. Kam called mid morning and said it was ready and the bill was $327. Only needed 2 hours labor and a bit of coolant. Very honest as some shops would have dinged me for the extra 6 hours of labor. They are not the cheapest in town....but I would say the fairest with quick response times! read more
