I had my vehicle towed in because I had a problem with an aftermarket alarm system not letting me start it. Kevin quoted me a reasonable price and timeline. I don't think it was more than an hour and he called me back. He advised the problem was the key. It was an aftermarket key so didn't have the "chip" inside to disarm the stock alarm so it was locking out the engine. Upon my return with the correct key, it started and is working now. I know he took time from his schedule to look at it, but Kevin did not charge me for that time. Kevin, you have restored my faith in humanity. Thank you for your kindness. My luck with screws and nails in my car tires is unfortunately horrible. Thankfully, Tire Mart & Auto Express has superior service. They were able to identify the screw in my tire when another place, which I will leave unnamed, couldn't. They were also able to deal with my tire lock without the key (my family has two of the same type of cars and the key was with the other car). They worked around the lock at one visit, and broke it off (with my permission) on another in order to get me back in the road in a timely fashion. The time when they worked around the lock was in 2024, and I paid about $45. The time when they had to break the lock was a year later and I paid about $75. I especially appreciate their professionalism and ability to not talk down to female customers, which sadly a lot of auto shops still do, even in 2025. Definitely recommend! read more

My tire light was on due to me hitting something. I had an extra tire that I needed installed since I was driving on my spare. I came across this place online and noticed that they had amazing reviews. I called in the morning to see if they had afternoon availability when I got off work to install one tire for me. They had availability same day and it only cost me $30! I brought the car in around 3:30, waited in the waiting area, and the car was ready around 4pm. The mechanic even walked with me to my car to make sure the light was now off, that my damaged tire I requested back was in my trunk to return to Costco for a credit since it was under warranty, and that I had my wheel lock key back in my possession. 10/10 service, will definitely come back if I have any other tire issues! read more

Before I get into the review I just need to say... don't pass them up, this is the shop to go to! I called around town to get a price quote to replace the AC condenser on my wife's car due to a rock hitting it, everywhere I called I couldn't get a straight answer on price without hearing "we need to see the car first", one place said they would call me back and never got that callback.... This is where this place stands apart from the rest. I spoke with Leo, he gave me the price without any pressure into taking the car first. I had to ask again because I wanted to make sure I heard him correctly. To my surprise the price was way better than I was getting "without seeing the car". Took the car to him and at pick up, lo and behold the price was still the same!!!!! I was having issues with the vehicle's steering. With over 200,000 miles I didn't know what to expect upon inspection. Leo called & let me know the car was ready after a front end alignment. He told me the settings were off by quite a bit. He told me to drive it & let him know if I still felt there was an issue. Fortunately the vehicle now felt safe to drive. Good thing! The next step was front end rebuild of the suspension. $2,000. Probably more than the value of my 2006 Altima. I bought the car new and have gotten many years of good use out of it, but as Leo said, I need to decide how much I like the car before investing into the front end. The guy up front was Leo, who seems like a good and friendly person that likes people. From the front you don't see much of the shop but in back you see that it's quite large. My daughters car got a nail in it in early Monday morning and went flat. After putting the spare on I called Tire Mart to asked them if they had time for a repair. It was about 8:30. Kevin answered and told me they were booked but to bring it in and they could squeeze it in. When I got there I asked him if they could rotate the tires and he told me it would be difficult because the racks were booked so I told him just to repair the tire. Kevin called me a bit later and told me that the tire was unrepairable and that a new tire was needed. He also told me that the check engine light was on because it was overdue for an oil change. (I was going to have the oil changed later that day) Fast forward... By 11:00 I was able to pick up the car. New tire. Oil changed. Tires rotated. Without an appointment. No line which was good. The prices were very fair compared to other oil places. Didn't have to get out of my car. Quick service. My only issue is they didn't fasten down one of the under pieces of my car properly. I had to find out as I pulled out of the business and heard the scraping along the ground as I drove off. My car had old tires came here to get a new set and had to wait 5 hours for them to finish because they were "fixing" a problem that had occurred when they were trying to remove one of the tires. After 5 hours of waiting I come back and they put the wrong size tires on my car now my tires scrape my bumper anytime I turn the wheel to make a u-turn or any other sharp turn. Just my personal experience I hope this doesn't happen to anyone but this is what happened to me and that's why I have to give this place 1 star. read more

Tire Mart did a great job on routine maintenance of our 2008 Hyundai sedan. The TPMS (tire pressure monitor system) is on the fritz, says tire pressure is low when it's not. They could have tried to take us for a ride and charge a lot to fix it, but didn't. They told us don't worry about it. No upselling! read more

So let me start by saying that my car had problems overheating as I was driving back home. The car got stuck in Tracy and I managed to trek it over to Livermore and left it at a parking lot overnight. That night, I went to research car repair shops on yelp for good reviews. That being said, I came across this place, since it had great reviews. The guy, Chris (as mentioned in other reviews), is very friendly and the work is affordable compared to things in the city, so that's why I gave the review 1 star. If he wasn't friendly, it would easily be zero if he wasn't friendly. I walked into the place with my car, told them that I had problems with the car overheating and that I tried running the hot air, tried letting it fizzle out because someone said it had air pockets in it and I even told him that I think the problem IS the water pump. He said it was probably a small fix like the temperature gauge and proceeded to work on that. I needed to have the car back into San Francisco that night, so when I waited a few hours later to find out that it WASN'T the temperature gauge, I thought, "Well, gee. I did say that I thought it was the water pump." He said he had the exact same model, make and year of the car, and since he's a mechanic, I figured that what I said to him might make sense. Long story short, he didn't fix the problem, charged me $140 and I ended up going to a place in the city-- they said the water pump was cracked and that needed to be replaced. The guy may be really nice, but he tried to use that against you. He told me that I'd have to pay for the work anyway, so I might as well get it replaced. (Since they just opened the hood and that's considered "working" on it.) Instead, he wasted my time (I dropped the car off at 8:30 and didn't get it back until about 1pm), wasted my money and tried to scam me by saying something else was wrong with it. I think he was trying to hold me there as long as possible so I could have the most work done on it as possible, since I did say I was from the city. Maybe they're only nice to local people. In any case, I'd be careful, since I spoke to many mechanics before going to him with the problem. It's a shame I couldn't go somewhere else earlier. read more

I called a few places to get my tire fixed and Tire Mart had the best customer service. I had a flat and had first taken my car over to les Schwab since they fix flats for free. However, they said the tire was too damaged and could not be fixed. They said I had to buy a new set of tires for over 1k....So my search to find one used tire began. I called a few places and explained that I needed a 19 tire that still had 7/32nds thread on it. One place actually hung up on me after telling me they would put me on hold because they did not seem to understand what I needed. Tire Mart told me that I needed to get a number from my actual tire in order to see if they had stock. Then they actually helped me the same day even though I brought my car in an hour before closing. That to me was the best service. In all my bill was $48 and not $1k if I had gone to Les Schwab.
