French Fries are better than average, The Fried Chicken Sandwhich-NOT. Stopped in for lunch today 10-25-2019; at 1:00pm during lunch rush. Waited about 10 minutes for my order-#10, Fried Chicken Sandwhich combo with Fries and a tea. The sandwhich was freshly cooked, piping hot, but, very dry, not juicy like a Chick Fil*let or Popeyes, more on the level with a Wendy's or Flyrite. I also didn't really care for the sauce they used- would prefer mayonaise. The fries were better than average though. read more

I had the worst hamburger of my life. I grew up with Whataburger and always loved them, but the last 3 times I've been disappointed! What is going on!! The last time was the final straw. I was very hungry and stopped in to the Anderson Lane WB, to find that I had to search for a table that was clean, the maintenance person was standing in the customer order area with a rolling mop bucket full of dirty water, staring at an employee putting up Balloons for WB birthday. I had to find my way around them to order. Upon ordering a simple WB junior with cheese, I had to wait a full 15 minutes although there were few customers there and only one came after me. I ate the burger because I was very hungry and on the way to a meeting. The patty was tasteless and over cooked, the cheese was not even remotely melted and the bun was dry and tough. I couldn't get out of there fast enough! But to top it off, when I tried to put my trash in, the trash cans were so full I had to leave it on top! Disgusting! And all this while the employees were standing around playing "happy birthday" and not doing their jobs! I WILL NEVER GO TO ANOTHER WHATABURGER. This is a travesty and a loss for everyone. OMG. I stopped into this Whataburger last night for the first time last night on 9/21. I have eaten at Whataburger locations all over Texas since my teeth came in. This is my favorite Whataburger in the world. My senior year at UT, I had a job that would frequently keep me until 2 in the morning or later. No, I wasn't a bartender. That would have been a cool job. Anyway, I lived on Steck. This was the closest restaurant that would be open and take credit cards. I must have eaten there 4 nights a week. The other three nights, I starved. Now, I used to have a really bad habit of keeping a ton of crap in my car. I drove a white Acura that my friends called the White Hole. I did this to keep from having to ever take my car. I saved a ton on gas, except for hauling all that crap around and killing my fuel economy. So, early one morning, I hit the Whataburger. I get to the window and realize that I didn't have my wallet on me. Also, I was super famished. Well, crap. I get to the window and explain my plight. The guy hands me the bag and says, "It's ok, man. We all need help sometimes." I drive off, thinking how cool that was of them. Then I look around my car. There's a sleeping bag. And about a dozen visible Whataburger bags. Seventy-four empty Marlboro Light boxes. "Shit," I say to no one in particular. "They think I am homeless." OK, this review might be sort of unfair, but it is true. Your mileage may vary, etc. I can't ever go back to Whataburger. And it kills me. But the very thought of a WHATACHICK'N, or indeed even the sight of that familiar orange and white roof stimulates a fright AND flight response in my system worthy of seeing one of those "rage virus" zombies in the 28 Days Later movies. If you've ever had food poisoning, you know what I mean--the very thought of the food that caused it is enough to make your whole body shudder. For me unfortunately it was a sandwich and venue I loved. This could happen anywhere, and I understand completely that thousands of folks eat there very day and night with the glee and jubilation I used to have at 4am when nothing else was open. I was a WHATACHICK'N afficionado, and I loved that sandwich. But I got me some baaaad chick'n and the rest is gastrointestinal history. The worst part (and believe me, there were several candidates for "worst part" in this multi-focal, multi-orifice saga) was that it hit on a Saturday evening, lasted all day Sunday and showed little signs of fading even on Monday morning. AND I was about to board a 23.5 hour flight to Sydney on Wednesday, with a comfy business class seat reserved and paid for. I did NOT want to spend 23.5 hours in a small & smelly portapotty at 40,000 feet excreting myself inside out. My good doctor decided we could not wait for cultures to come back from the lab, so he actually said "in the absence of a diagnosis, let's proceed with the cure." I loved that man. Doc was forthcoming with an injection of some sort, two prescriptions and a third pill that went under my tongue to instantly stop cramping as needed. He demurred on my suggestion of a large cork. My system regained what passes for normality before I hit the airport, thank the stars. Sydney was wonderful, and so was the flight. But I have never been back to my dear old friend Whataburger. read more

Ordered my burger without onions (it's even on the receipt!) and there they were, only to be discovered when I got home. As far as fast food goes, I love this particular Whataburger! I used to go to various spots for a drive thru breakfast on my way to work but the morning shift peeps at this location are so pleasant and quick in the morning that I find myself mostly going here. What can I say? I'm not a morning person and it really helps that they're always so cheerful. It also doesn't hurt that they give my pup snacks in the drive thru. read more

If I could rate this Whataburger negative 5 starts I would. I've been all over Texas , and have ate at a Whataburger at all locations, 32 to be exact. And this one is by far the worst Whataburger of them all!!! They never get our order correct. And the food is always cold or burnt. Today the Mayo was spoiled. So I called to speak to a manager and the 1st person lied and said she was a manager but then eventually handed the phone to a manager. When I told her my issue she was arguing with me and being confrontational instead of helpful. I asked her to at least pull the soured product off of the line. She said it was fresh. Again arguing. I came here for the lemon pie. I love lemon pie/turnovers. No other fast food joint has ever made lemon pie except Jack in the Box in the 70's, the era which brought you lemon scented everything from floor wax to panty shields. I miss the 70's -- and lemon-scented pledge for that matter. Anyway, the deluge of Whataburger commercials we are getting right now made me decide to go to try that damn pie after class one night last week While in line, I called the better half and asked him if he wanted anything. My pie order turned into a double burger, a chicken burger, fries, onion rings and a drink -- and the pie, which I ordered first. So -- guy repeats my order - yep - and ten minutes later I exit with two big bags of food. And no freakin' pie. Damnit. I did not really want any of that other stuff. I wanted PIE. The grilled chicken burger had too much mayo, although the onion rings were pretty good. The dogs got half of the food we ordered. I was so so disappointed. My house is more than 20 miles away, but I thought about driving back at ten o'clock at night because I felt so cheated. So, today, I have class nearby, and decide to try again for pie. The line is only two cars deep so I again opt for the drive through. When I get to the loudspeakers, I make the order much simpler by ordering a Jr. Burger, everything but mayo because the menu says that they can put ketchup, mustard and mayo on a burger, pie and an ice tea. Simple. I am then informed that they don't put mayo on their burgers. Wow, I wonder what the hell that white stuff was on the last damn burger I ate there. So then I wait. And wait. This was lunch time and I am at the head of the line with a simple burger, no fries and a pie. I wait some more and finally.... I pay money to a surly cash register gal and wait and wait some more and finally get my order. You better believe that I checked my bag before I left the window this time. Seemed fine and the pie was there. When I open the burger up, I find a huge burger, definitely NOT a junior burger and it is completely slathered with gobs of mustard top to bottom that was dripping out. Now, I like mustard as much as the next person. As a matter of fact, I can count no less than 3 mustard jars in my refrigerator at this moment, but this was ridiculous. No ketchup. It was a messy mustard burger that was almost inedible. Now for the pie. Ahhhh, pie. The Pie -- First, it is very small, which is fine. Who needs a giant fried pie. Second, be CAREFUL!! The filling is boiling, blistering hot and you should not, under any circumstanced eat it while driving because the lemon filling is also very liquid when it is that hot and it shoots out when you bite into it and can cause 3rd degree burns that only a quick gulp and gargle of ice water can soothe and your tongue will be completely burnt and so much for tasting much at all that day. Once I let it sit for awhile, I tried again, despite the burns. Ummmmmm, Pretty good. Could be a lot more tart, but pretty friggin' good. Maybe I can't taste the tart because my tongue is burnt. So the 3 stars is because they have lemon pie in the first place. That is being extremely generous considering how very mediocre the rest of my experiences were. I'm a Whataburger fan and this location is clean, timely, and rarely gets my order wrong. In fact, the main reason I'm writing this is because of a recent experience where they DID mess up my order. My wife picked it up and when she got home, we both noticed they had left out my fries. Annoyed, I drove back to the restaurant expecting to be greeted with a worker who could care less and would just hand me some fries from under the heat lamp. But they apologized and offered to remake my entire order. They also threw in an apple pie and refunded me my money without even being asked to do so. I felt like they tried to do everything they could to remedy the situation and I was impressed. I'll definitely be back. read more

I've visited this Whataburger more than I care to admit over the last five years, exclusively between the hours of 11 PM - 5 AM, always drive-thru. The food is generally consistent, but it comes nowhere near to Sam's steadfast ability to never ask you if you want ketchup with your fries. If you don't request ketchup, you're SOL. Have you ever arrived home with fries and no ketchup? Even if I manage to acquire ketchup, by that point the fries will be cold. It's a bad situation. Seriously dude, you've worked here for several years now, do you not know that people want ketchup with their fries? Literally every other drive through worker asks me that. C'mon! read more
