This DQ is consistently good and has friendly staff. I like the flame-broiled taste of their burgers, and the staff is conscientious about meeting special requests. The tacos are always crunchy, with fresh toppings. I recently tried the chicken and dumplings after seeing their advertisements, which remind me of how my family prepares them. I would recommend them: tasty, with just the right consistency of gravy, but not chock-full of chicken (but that's what I prefer). I could go for firmer dumplings, but that's just me. They offer a free side of Texas Toast; who can say no to that, since the meal itself is already fattening, lol. My 5* rating is keeping the category in mind--fast food, not that it's the best restaurant on the planet. This particular location is definitely one of the best. I was at the drive thru yesterday like around 10:00 pm and while I was looking at the menu at the drive Thru I laughed and one of the employees copied my laugh as if she was making fun of me. Wow, what a nice DQ! The people working here were very friendly and the place is immaculate. You know when you go into a restaurant and touch the stuff around your table and it's usually all greasy feeling? Not here. The older couple (who I assume owns the place) actually seemed to care that you were there and provided great service. The food was fresh and piping hot. I got the chicken strip basket. We passed by here on the way home from picking my husband from work. They have a DRIVE THRU, you don't have to get out of the car in the heat you can stay in the AC of your car. So thats what we did this evening... This is a standard what you expect from a DQ. I've been to a few and I was a bit surprised when they didn't have all the different flavors of blizzards that I was used to. They have a much smaller menu to choose from. But they were quick, so I don't hate it. Its also a bit dirtier in there than what I expect. On the bright side the cashiers are very nice. read more

Oh Dairy Queen, not sure what I expected! I love the speed of your drive through and your to go buster bars but, that's where our love affair ends. I ordered what I thought was the chicken tender meal but, I ended up with chicken fried steak tenders with French fries and Texas Toast. The chicken fried steak tenders came with country gravy dipping sauce. The tenders were not so great, lacked flavor, were mooshy and just completely unappetizing. The gravy was actually really good, well-seasoned and the perfect median of thick but, creamy! The French fried were cold and undercooked! The Texas Toast was buttery and savory! The drive through line is very slow and it's hard to turn out of this location back on the road of Lamar! I feel like you could probably spend your $10.00 better somewhere else! read more

I've been to many a Dairy Queens in my life, but this one has something going for it that no other location has. Good old fashioned customer service and fresh product! I normally hit up fancier and pricier burger joints but sometimes you want something quick, simple and consistent. I go in and order a #1 for dine in. Took a few minutes but it finally came out. The manager herself delivered the food to the table(sweet Asian lady)and she kindly asked if I wanted any extra condiments or napkins. I thanked her and I stood up and offered to grab them myself but she insisted I sit and enjoy the food and she politely got the ketchup n stuff for me. She smiled and said if there was anything else I needed to just ask. I go for the fries.. fresh n hot! A+ I take a bite of the burger and WOW! It was HOT and the ingredients were fresh too. Onions nice n crunchy! Lettuce n tomatoes were crisp n zesty! Even the bread was fresh! Crazy, I know. So as I was eating I was watching how customers came in and knew her by name, and how she greeted everyone with a warm smile. Her staff was mostly school kids but they acted and worked cheerfully. To me that says a lot about not only the quality of the work environment, but also how it shines through in the product itself. I wanted so badly to compliment the manager directly but they were busy and i was pressed for time. Figured I'd give them a solid review. Laundry took a little longer than usual and instead of battling 5 o'clock traffic back home we decided to go ahead and eat. We needed some place cheap- which is usually when we turn to chains. We would have probably had better luck if we had just randomly chosen a place. I try not to compare things in Texas to back in GA, but when its a chain its hard not to expect the same quality and items. First we got overcharged by $2. Whatever, I wasn't in the mood to stand there and discuss and try to show the cashier how he'd over charged us, so I just let it go. The fiance got the new steak tenders- I tried one and they were too bad. Not the best I've ever had but pretty good for fast food. I got the chicken tenders. They should have been called breading tenders cause that was all I could taste- the bits of chicken were small and there was so much breading the tenders were tough to even bite in to. THEN when I ask for buffalo sauce apparently they don't have it. Ok, fine, so I ask for BBQ sauce. They don't have that either. I'm sorry but what kind of restaurant doesn't have BBQ SAUCE??? That's just insane. So I tried to enjoy my tenders with ketchup, but it was hard. We won't be coming back here, that's for sure. read more

They give them to you in a bag, so we wanted to wait and eat them at home and to our surprise, we not only got gipped, but also not what we were craving. Went here once and was disappointed. My husband and I went through the drive-thru and ordered an oreo blizzard and a hot cocoa blizzard. There was only one car in line ahead of us, but we still ended up waiting a pretty long time. Usually I don't mind a wait, but when I opened the bag I found that they gave me an M&M blizzard instead. How do you get "M&M" from "Oreo?" It wasn't even busy at the time. I could have gone back and complained, but decided it wasn't worth the time. I ate the M&M blizzard. It was fine. But not what I ordered. They also didn't have the chocolate soft serve cones you can get at many other DQs. I won't be going back to this location. read more

I'll go the .3 miles to the location on Burnett before considering this location again. I went through the drive-thru around 4pm on a Wednesday. Baby was asleep in the car seat, I knew dinner was about 4 hrs off... A Blizzard would tide me over! So, I swung into the lane and ordered. 20 minutes later and 3 cars later I'm handed a bag. I don't know about you, but part of the fun of a Blizzard for me is the upsidedown demo. Nope. None of that. Minor point, but okay, right? Not even close. I don't know what "flavor" Blizzard that was, but it was assuredly NOT what I ordered. Nor did I request extra freezer burn. Sure, I could have pulled a u-ey, gone back and complained. I use to work there and my managers were amazing .they are always helping their employees .ms.kim is an amazing Manager . She was always helping me become greater than I already was and she loves my daughter to death . My daughter use to come in and ask for ms.kim .this was the best job I have ever had and I would love to work here again . All the employees I met were amazing and the environment is fun and cheerful .the cleanest place I have ever worked and everyone worked amazing . I've went to this particular Dairy Queen for burgers as well as birthday cakes. While the food was great, I'm writing about the ice cream cakes I purchased for birthdays. First off, the ice cream cakes are on the expensive side, but in the end they were the hit of the party. I called in an order for the large Oreo cookie cake in February for a birthday (same day that I needed it)...it was ready upon my arrival, with the caption I requested being beautifully written on the cake in chocolate. The cake was delicious! I called this same Dairy Queen for another ice cream cake this month (the same day that I needed it)....this time I chose the large Strawberry Cheesecake. Again, the caption was beautifully written in red to match the decorative strawberries...me saying this cake was delicious is an understatement. Let's just say, I'll continue to order these expensive ice cream cakes as long as they continue to look and taste delicious. I don't want to take away the fact that the restuarant was clean and the staff were attentive and very professional. I have a Dairy Queen near my home, but my preference is this particular Dairy Queen on North Lamar. read more

Honestly, the BEST ran fast food establishment I've ever stepped foot in. The owners of this DQ are the nicest and kindest people you'll ever encounter. Everybody is courteous, food is always fast and hot, and it's always clean. I've never been disappointed when visiting this location. read more
