Tonight I was attacked by a homeless person in the drive thru lane who had gotten upset with me for ignoring his request for money. He started beating on my passenger seat door window. I had to yell at the man in order to defend myself. And do you know what the staff did at P. Terry's while all of this happened? They turned to ME, the girl being attacked by a MAN and told ME "not to engage him" for defending MYSELF after I had already tried de-escalating by ignoring him. They didn't offer to help. They didn't offer to call 9-1-1. They didn't tell the man to leave. They blamed ME for having to finally defend myself. NOT THE MAN POUNDING ON MY CAR. But ME. Tell me this: had I been a white woman or a little Asian lady, THEN would that have warranted helping me? But you put him harassing me onto ME. You put me DEFENDING myself onto ME. Food here is very good! However, the service leaves something to be desired. At least 50% of the time (truly) what I order is not what I receive. This means that: A. I have to check the receipt and the food given and ask them to fix the order if I have time, or. B. Return home only to discover that what was in the bag is not what I had ordered. Even though I've since moved away, every trip back to Austin includes a stop at P. Terry's--it's non-negotiable. Whether I'm visiting family, catching up with friends, or taking my daughter to her appointments at Dell Children's, P. Terry's is always part of the plan. Their double cheeseburger is my go-to, especially since it's my designated cheat meal while on a diet. I love that they don't automatically put onions on their burgers--you have to request them. Honestly, that should be standard everywhere! Their hand-cut fries are perfect, and I always pair them with their oatmeal chocolate chip cookie. Those cookies are huge, delicious, and only $1, which feels like a steal these days. Add in a large unsweet iced tea, and it's the perfect meal. What sets P. Terry's apart is the quality of their ingredients--grass-fed beef, made-to-order meals, and even their vegetarian and chicken burgers are fantastic. Their breakfast menu is just as good, with fresh banana bread, home fries, and great orange juice. The care they put into their food shows, and everything tastes fresh and thoughtfully made. The Burnet Road location is drive-thru and walk-up only, with no indoor seating, but it works perfectly for the quick, no-fuss vibe of the place. I'm a fan of P. Terry's in general but I avoid this one if I can. I've gone there twice and each time my order has somehow turned out incorrect. The first time I was charged for an add on that just wasn't put in-btw, add bacon and jalapeno is worth it-if you get it. The second time I went I talked up their cookie and it wasn't in the bag. We ordered several burgers, fries, and drinks, but I can only attest to one drink because that's the only thing I personally tried. Speaking of which, I personally tried and enjoyed their lemonade. It was a refreshing drink after the long day I had. As for the food, Jordan was the one who tried P. Terry's burgers and fries -- he enjoyed his meal and thought it was fairly fresh, in comparison to other fast food places. We didn't interact with the staff members a lot, but from the little interaction we had, it was alright. We saw the note: free treats for dogs, so we requested for some; however, the staff member had to ensure the dogs were with us to provide us with treats, which was fine -- that was the extra bit of interaction we had. Went threw the drive thru at 11pm today and I absolutely regret going to this location. We ordered 2 number 2s. They rang us up entirely incorrect. One of the burger combos came in a boat which we did not order. The 2nd combo didn't even get the fries. The one order of fries we did receive were undercooked, soaked in grease and cold. The woman working the window had an attitude the moment I pulled up and continued to mean mug myself and my passenger the entire 10 minutes it took for our food to come out messed up. I am biased when it comes to P. Terry's.... everyone has a fave. This is mine. I trust their food. I trust the ingredients. The menu is short & sweet which keeps the drive through moving. I can find options for my 'no animal product' phases. And incredible milkshakes for when I'm splurging treat-wise. On the subject of milkshakes, they always have a flavor of the month. They make the veggie burgers from their own recipe and they don't freeze them. The French fries were a big serving and they weren't over salted-also a plus! This is fast food, but it seemed a bit healthier than the average fast food. And in fact it seemed to be--I checked the website because they provide nutrition info. The employee at the drive-through was courteous. There was nothing not to like. And in case you missed it above, P. Terry's was donating a whopping 100% of profits-from ALL P. So i live right next to this place and I been eating there at least 4 times a week the problem is people think it's Ok to hair wrong people to run the show as long as it's a known brand and costumers already love it I went there tonight for my regular cheese burger the lady asked me if I want everything in it and I said yes After I get my burger I found it's only meet and cheese nothing else so I went back to see what happened just to avoid it in the future all what I did is asked what happened and the lady turned off and grabbed the sandwich from my hand and locked the window throw it in the trash then turned to other guy and said make him another sandwich for god sake the night just started then kept me waiting After 10 minutes I called her to asked what happened she called another guy who told me to leave. It's really just the people working at this location, I know it's not that hard given that I worked at P Terry's for 4-5 years! The one I go to near work always delivers. Unless you're ordering something exactly the way it comes, don't count on it being right! It's expected at this point that the food will be terrible, I don't plan on coming here anymore. Maybe they're used to customers being apathetic and never speaking up since it's business as usual. I was excited to see yet another PTerrys in the vicinity of my apt, so I was looking forward to inducting the new Burnet PT's into my PTerry's rotation. Sadly, I think this was a one-time affair. Firstly, they have the absolute worst drive-thru setup EVER! The entrance you come off of Burnet takes you right in front of the exiting cars of the drive-through window line, and it is kind of a blind corner, so the novelty "STOP" sign they have for departing drive-thru window cars does little good if you happen to be pulling in even if the exiting car makes an actual full stop. Then, you have to make this weird clockwise approach to the speaker and for some reason the turning curve is at an odd angle because even in my spry Honda Civic, I still couldn't clear the turning radius to the speaker. If you make it through that mess...hazzah! I was then greeted by a surprisingly long wait. I don't know what the hold up was, but even at its busiest the N MoPac location is never that long. But, I was willing to overlook all that because I love me some PTerrys; the burgers, fries, and cookies are what keep me coming back again and again, even after they jacked up their prices (I used to pay $6.56 for a #2 combo and a cookie, it is now $7.22) because they are that good...until I came to this location. My burger (which is just a cheeseburger w/sauce) looked like someone had smooshed it almost flat and barely had any sauce on it. The fries were grossly overcooked to the point where when attempting to bite into a couple I was surprised I didn't crack a tooth and my cookie was hard, like it had been sitting out awhile. I can't express how disappointed and let down I felt by my first (and now only) experience here because this location is on my way along my routes to many of my regular haunts that I was so looking forward to being able to stop and grab my PT's enroute. Instead, I will never be coming back to this location because I do not want to get into a car wreck coming into or out of the drive-thru (seriously, this is a drive-thru only location and they couldn't think of a more functional design?) and I don't want to drop my hard earned cash on subpar grub. I always come to PT's vs McDs Whataburger or Wendys because of the quality, so I was just heartbroken that it was non-existent here. I have literally been to every PTs location in Austin, but I am sad to say I will be adding this to the list of locations I will not longer visit (the others are the N. Lamar because my car has been hit twice in their chaotic parking lot and S Lamar because they do not have Diet Dr. Pepper. read more

You've let me down, P. Terry's. Upon occasion, I love nothing more than one of your delectable veggie burgers. I've enjoyed the food and service at the South Lamar, North Lamar, and Ben White outposts. Unfortunately, that enjoyment came to a screeching halt at the new Burnet location. The building looks cool, but the way the drive-thru is configured is maddening. You're at risk of getting t-boned as you pull out of the drive-thru lane or t-boning someone else as you enter from the busy street. Plus, if the first car leaving the premises wants to turn left onto Burnet, forget about it. You'll be sitting for days. And holding up the drive-thru line. Onto the food. Bleh. I stopped by the first week they were open for my fave veggie burger. Instead I received a wholly unappetizing, dried-out, cold-in-spots, clumpy bean patty. I chalked it up to store growing pains and returned a month later. Because of my previous experience, I opted for a double cheeseburger with no tomato. Nothing else. Easy order, right? I was charged for the higher-priced item, but received a single burger with tomato. Wha? When I realized their mistake, I couldn't double-back because I was headed to a meeting.
