P. Terry's Burger Stand - Chicken Bites - Burgers Near Me - Austin, Texas

Tonight I was attacked by a homeless person in the drive thru lane who had gotten upset with me for ignoring his request for money. He started beating on my passenger seat door window. I had to yell at the man in order to defend myself. And do you know what the staff did at P. Terry's while all of this happened? They turned to ME, the girl being attacked by a MAN and told ME "not to engage him" for defending MYSELF after I had already tried de-escalating by ignoring him. They didn't offer to help. They didn't offer to call 9-1-1. They didn't tell the man to leave. They blamed ME for having to finally defend myself. NOT THE MAN POUNDING ON MY CAR. But ME. Tell me this: had I been a white woman or a little Asian lady, THEN would that have warranted helping me? But you put him harassing me onto ME. You put me DEFENDING myself onto ME. And when I called to talk to the manager about what happened, she hung up in my face. I swear to God I will NEVER support this establishment at ANY location ever again. read more

The best fast food in Austin! Chicken burger is amazing and staff is awesome. Burgers are always good too. read more

I bought food from this location two and a half months ago, and did again last night. Unfortunately, this P. Terry's feel short once again in the order accuracy department. I ordered a combo meal with a diet coke as the beverage. Imagine my surprise when I got home and began gulping down a Dr. Pepper instead. The order was correct on the receipt attached to the bag, but that wasn't what was handed to me in the drive through. I am disappointed that the staff here apparently loses attention or focus frequently. read more

Horrible customer service.... !

Dependable, fresh, made to order, limited menu, extended hours. The French fries are a highlight. Friendly folks. Drive through only, be prepared to wait. read more

How are you gonna have shakes of the month but not serve shakes when it's shake time. Night ruined.

Love this place. Burgers are always fresh and no hormones or antibiotics. You can taste the goodness. The size is filling and one place that did not skimp and reduce due to inflation. Fries are fresh cut and tasty. Not greasy like other places. $10 double cheeseburger combo is a great deal, compared to other places that charge more and taste horrible. read more

My favorite burger spot of all time!! Went to this location at around 11 pm (I believe it's only drive through) and it was not a long wait. The food and drinks are always so good, I especially love their burgers fries and lemonade. They're smaller burgers, so it's easy to finish one with fries. Their special sauce is delicious too!! read more

P. Terry's Burger Stand - Hair in food. - Burgers Near Me - Austin, Texas

P. Terry's on Burnet Road is hands down one of my favorite places in the world for a burger. I used to live on Burnet and frequented this spot a lot. Even though I've since moved away, every trip back to Austin includes a stop at P. Terry's--it's non-negotiable. Whether I'm visiting family, catching up with friends, or taking my daughter to her appointments at Dell Children's, P. Terry's is always part of the plan. Their double cheeseburger is my go-to, especially since it's my designated cheat meal while on a diet. I love that they don't automatically put onions on their burgers--you have to request them. Honestly, that should be standard everywhere! Their hand-cut fries are perfect, and I always pair them with their oatmeal chocolate chip cookie. Those cookies are huge, delicious, and only $1, which feels like a steal these days. Add in a large unsweet iced tea, and it's the perfect meal. What sets P. Terry's apart is the quality of their ingredients--grass-fed beef, made-to-order meals, and even their vegetarian and chicken burgers are fantastic. Their breakfast menu is just as good, with fresh banana bread, home fries, and great orange juice. The care they put into their food shows, and everything tastes fresh and thoughtfully made. The Burnet Road location is drive-thru and walk-up only, with no indoor seating, but it works perfectly for the quick, no-fuss vibe of the place. Even during busy times, the dual drive-thru lanes keep things moving fast. The retro-modern design of their locations is also a nice touch--they all have a clean, unique look that's fun and inviting. P. Terry's beats every other burger joint out there in quality and price, hands down. I wish they'd expand to more places, especially college towns like mine near Fort Worth, but until then, I'll keep stopping by whenever I'm in Austin. They're open late, too, which is perfect for those late-night burger or fry cravings. Five stars all the way--this place is simply the best. A little hint, get the burger "like it comes" trust me. It's the best -- they put their sauce on it and there's no onions on it. It just tastes perfect the way they intended it. Just say the words "the way it comes" when ordering it and you'll get it right every time! read more

Food is good, the shakes will be soup unless it's early in the day or cold outside. Your making money, fix the shake machine

I'm a fan of P. Terry's in general but I avoid this one if I can. I've gone there twice and each time my order has somehow turned out incorrect. The first time I was charged for an add on that just wasn't put in-btw, add bacon and jalapeno is worth it-if you get it. The second time I went I talked up their cookie and it wasn't in the bag. I've had 0 issues at other locations, maybe this one is the problem child. read more

Cheapest veggie burger in Austin, and pretty darn good too. Just noticed that when you ask for no cheese on a cheeseburger, they actually take the quarter off the price! Not many places will do that; makes me think P. Terry's has honest business practices. read more

I like the option of whole wheat buns and the variety of options besides the additions to the hamburger! I'm old & use drive-through now. I don't think you can call yourself a restaurant if you don't even have an inside lol. Drive-through only.

Quick drive thru burger spot. Burgers are tasty, would opt without the sauce next time. Fries are a bit lackluster and greasy. The best part of the meal is the old time taste of the meat. Overall I would still prefer the in and out flavor and presentation read more

For a quick meal, drive thru! We had a late night and needed a quick meal for the road. This was an easy and fairly decent meal for a great price. Their fries were crispy and delicious. The burgers were average. Try the banana bread, it was a NICE surprise. read more

P. Terry's Burger Stand was the only place that was open after midnight -- the only open place that we haven't tried. We ordered several burgers, fries, and drinks, but I can only attest to one drink because that's the only thing I personally tried. Speaking of which, I personally tried and enjoyed their lemonade. It was a refreshing drink after the long day I had. As for the food, Jordan was the one who tried P. Terry's burgers and fries -- he enjoyed his meal and thought it was fairly fresh, in comparison to other fast food places. We didn't interact with the staff members a lot, but from the little interaction we had, it was alright. We saw the note: free treats for dogs, so we requested for some; however, the staff member had to ensure the dogs were with us to provide us with treats, which was fine -- that was the extra bit of interaction we had. I would like to visit P. Terry's Burger Stand again and try their food. From the reviews, it seems to be worth it! read more

I am not sure why they claim to give free fries and knowing you can't get free fries without the reciept, they never give a reciept. Second thing is their fries are most likely cold, chewy. Went threw the drive thru at 11pm today and I absolutely regret going to this location. We ordered 2 number 2s. They rang us up entirely incorrect. One of the burger combos came in a boat which we did not order. The 2nd combo didn't even get the fries. The one order of fries we did receive were undercooked, soaked in grease and cold. The woman working the window had an attitude the moment I pulled up and continued to mean mug myself and my passenger the entire 10 minutes it took for our food to come out messed up. Never again will I return to this location and definitely don't recommend it. read more

I am biased when it comes to P. Terry's.... everyone has a fave. This is mine. I trust their food. I trust the ingredients. The menu is short & sweet which keeps the drive through moving. I can find options for my 'no animal product' phases. And incredible milkshakes for when I'm splurging treat-wise. On the subject of milkshakes, they always have a flavor of the month. Be careful pulling out of the drive through. When they say cross traffic does not stop, they mean it. Need a truly Austin gift? P. Terry's is home grown... a P. This place is solid for fast food and this particular location is open until 3AM on weekends. $1.00 giant oatmeal chocolate chip cookie was good (I wish it was normal chocolate chip!), caramel shake was a bit thick but also good & fries are thinner & fresher than a normal fast food place. Don't waste your time on McD, DQ or Wendy's. Looking forward to going back and trying a few more items in the future, especially when those late night munchies hit ! read more

This four star comes completely from the price to value ratio. I got a basic cheese burger with the drinks and the fries and given the price I set my expectations low but what I got surprised me. The fries weren't oily, weren't over salted, weren't stiff or soggy. The burger wasn't 80% bread, they actually listened to me when ai said no ice and I got it all in 10 minutes even with a line. read more

I ate here the other day because they were giving 100% of profits to The ARC of the Capital Area. I had been to P. Terry's when it first opened years ago and was underwhelmed. The veggie burger and fries was fine but not remarkable. This time around it was quite delicious! I am impressed by the fresh ingredients and quality of the food. I bought a veggie burger combo. They make the veggie burgers from their own recipe and they don't freeze them. The French fries were a big serving and they weren't over salted-also a plus! This is fast food, but it seemed a bit healthier than the average fast food. And in fact it seemed to be--I checked the website because they provide nutrition info. The employee at the drive-through was courteous. There was nothing not to like. And in case you missed it above, P. Terry's was donating a whopping 100% of profits-from ALL P. Terry's and Taco Ranch locations-to the ARC! What an amazing community supporter this company is. That alone would bring me back, but the tasty food grabbed me, too! read more

So i live right next to this place and I been eating there at least 4 times a week the problem is people think it's Ok to hair wrong people to run the show as long as it's a known brand and costumers already love it I went there tonight for my regular cheese burger the lady asked me if I want everything in it and I said yes After I get my burger I found it's only meet and cheese nothing else so I went back to see what happened just to avoid it in the future all what I did is asked what happened and the lady turned off and grabbed the sandwich from my hand and locked the window throw it in the trash then turned to other guy and said make him another sandwich for god sake the night just started then kept me waiting After 10 minutes I called her to asked what happened she called another guy who told me to leave. This is the closest P Terry's to me and 90% of the time they mess up the order or the food is of poor quality. It's really just the people working at this location, I know it's not that hard given that I worked at P Terry's for 4-5 years! The one I go to near work always delivers. Unless you're ordering something exactly the way it comes, don't count on it being right! It's expected at this point that the food will be terrible, I don't plan on coming here anymore. Maybe they're used to customers being apathetic and never speaking up since it's business as usual. Just ordered a meal and to be honest it was gross enough to just throw away, now I'm headed to Whataburger. Thanks for the wasted $10! read more

Ohh yay !! that's the place where me or my husband want to have a burger. Locally owned great place. Be it be any P.Terry's. I love their Veggie Burger, and specially their fries. I was excited to see yet another PTerrys in the vicinity of my apt, so I was looking forward to inducting the new Burnet PT's into my PTerry's rotation. Sadly, I think this was a one-time affair. Firstly, they have the absolute worst drive-thru setup EVER! The entrance you come off of Burnet takes you right in front of the exiting cars of the drive-through window line, and it is kind of a blind corner, so the novelty "STOP" sign they have for departing drive-thru window cars does little good if you happen to be pulling in even if the exiting car makes an actual full stop. Then, you have to make this weird clockwise approach to the speaker and for some reason the turning curve is at an odd angle because even in my spry Honda Civic, I still couldn't clear the turning radius to the speaker. If you make it through that mess...hazzah! I was then greeted by a surprisingly long wait. I don't know what the hold up was, but even at its busiest the N MoPac location is never that long. But, I was willing to overlook all that because I love me some PTerrys; the burgers, fries, and cookies are what keep me coming back again and again, even after they jacked up their prices (I used to pay $6.56 for a #2 combo and a cookie, it is now $7.22) because they are that good...until I came to this location. My burger (which is just a cheeseburger w/sauce) looked like someone had smooshed it almost flat and barely had any sauce on it. The fries were grossly overcooked to the point where when attempting to bite into a couple I was surprised I didn't crack a tooth and my cookie was hard, like it had been sitting out awhile. I can't express how disappointed and let down I felt by my first (and now only) experience here because this location is on my way along my routes to many of my regular haunts that I was so looking forward to being able to stop and grab my PT's enroute. Instead, I will never be coming back to this location because I do not want to get into a car wreck coming into or out of the drive-thru (seriously, this is a drive-thru only location and they couldn't think of a more functional design?) and I don't want to drop my hard earned cash on subpar grub. I always come to PT's vs McDs Whataburger or Wendys because of the quality, so I was just heartbroken that it was non-existent here. I have literally been to every PTs location in Austin, but I am sad to say I will be adding this to the list of locations I will not longer visit (the others are the N. Lamar because my car has been hit twice in their chaotic parking lot and S Lamar because they do not have Diet Dr. Pepper. read more
