Sweet potato fries - Sweet potato fries are placed in a paper-lined basket on a dark wooden table. The fries are golden-orange and appear crispy. Surrounding items include paper food wrappers, a cup with a dark beverage, and a container with a striped design. The setting suggests a casual dining environment, possibly a restaurant or fast-food establishment.

So I was in town for a meeting with some coworkers. We decided on a burger place and Top Notch was the winner. Checked it out on yelp and thought the burgers looked better than the other locations. It was a few miles from the hotel which was a plus. Drove up and immediately it looked like a old time burger hop location. No issues with that. walked in and the ambiance was chill location didn't have alot of people and saw they were cooking with charcoal which is always a plus for taste. Ordered a cheese burger with sweet tater fries. Food was decent can't saw anything bad about it a little pricey almost 15 dollars with no tip. It came out quick and you could taste the charging flavor. Which I liked. All in all it wasn't a bad spot would I go outside way to come back probably not would I come back if I stayed near by probably Burger 4 outa 10 nothing special Sweet tater fried 3 outa 10 they were like shoe string taters

Outside - The image shows the exterior of Top Notch restaurant, featuring a menu stand in the parking lot under a covered area. The restaurant building has a brick facade with a sign displaying the name and offerings. The parking lot has a few cars, and the sky is overcast with dark clouds, indicating cloudy weather.

The bathroom is actually very clean and has a changing table! Fast, hot, & delicious as always! Husband got the fried okra and it does not disappoint. I love their sweet potato fries and not pictured is my chocolate shake so tasty. Hits the spot everytime. The folks working here are so friendly and always have been over the decades I've visited. Thank you Top Notch! see you next time.

My husband and I enjoyed this nostalgic burger spot that reminded us of a fave that no longer exists in SA. They have drive up call boards and the inside decor was 70s era. They charbroil the burgers over the flame right behind the register. Burgers were simple but tasty because of the charbroil. Good fries and rings. Fried apple pie was a nice finish. If you're dining in, order at the counter then find a table and wait for your name to be called for order pickup. It was quite frigid and hard to fully enjoy the experience because the AC was full blast. Otherwise, all good!

    This place looks good

This place is a cute little drive up.It has great burgers. I had never been here before. My first experience and I'll tell you it was like having really good diner food and I could just relax inside of my car and eat it and throw my trash out. The gentleman came out and suggested their spicy Mayo, with the fries. It was delicious. I'd say he was a great man to suggest this. Because then he brought me extra. So that I can eat more of it with my fries and put it on my burger. I'm gonna try it next time, but i'm gonna walk in.And actually eat in the diner cuz, I want to experience that as well. Overall great first experience

A nostalgic place for some, a cool burger joint for others - Top Notch serves up great burgers, shakes, fries, onion rings, and even fried okra (yum)! You can drive up and order from your car, or park and dine inside. It's a very old diner inside with some memorabilia, but nothing crazy. Order at the counter and take a seat and they'll call you when your order is ready. Burgers are obviously their main menu item, but they also have chicken tenders, fried seafood, and various sides. The shakes are great. Kids meals come in a cool paper car tray. Service is very quick and fast-food style. I love that they have fried okra! It's so good but hard to find around town. The burgers were decent - I'd definitely recommend a double to make it worth it. Onion rings and fries are just okay. Shakes are good. Overall, I would revisit but I would probably just take it to go. They're a bit pricier than your typical "fast food" joint, but they're good!

I don't know how I haven't reviewed Top Notch yet!! Way back in the 90s I had to take every out-of-town friend here to take a picture underneath the big sign because we all loved Dazed and Confused ;) But even if you didn't like that movie or have no idea what I'm talking about you should come here for the food!! The genuine flame grilled burgers are all soo good. The onion rings are perfection- so crunchy and not greasy! And the chocolate shake just has such an amazing chocolate flavor. Also, the inside is just a throwback to when food wasn't so fussy and every employee I've ever talked to is so helpful and kind! Get here soon!

A photo booth features a collage of photo strips covering its exterior, with a black curtain for user privacy. It is situated in an indoor space with brick walls and a ceiling with tiles. Nearby, there are stacked storage bins in red and black, and a high chair and a wooden stand are also visible. The setting appears to be a casual, social environment, possibly a restaurant or event space.

The ordering counter is Right there when you walk in. You place your order, they take your name and call you when it's ready. You can split half fries, half onion rings = "frings" Their fries are like McDonald's fries! Just add a little more salt. The onion rings are delicious and crispy. The classic cheeseburger was average, nothing stood out. $14.50 with a drink.

A tray contains a cheeseburger with lettuce, tomato, pickles, and melted cheese in a bun, accompanied by a portion of French fries wrapped in paper. A large soft drink in a yellow cup with a straw is also on the tray. The setting appears to be a casual dining restaurant with a dark wooden table and a smartphone in the background.

Special Classic burger, refreshing soda, crispy fries, old diner vibes, and vintage photo boot! Totally worth the price! I've always wanted to go and now I can't wait to go back. Great service too, clean tables and restroom are okay but it's also an old building

    2. Cheeseburger Hand Battered Onion Rings Root Beer - A tray contains a cheeseburger with a soft bun, fried onion rings in a paper bag, and a large soda in a cup with a straw, all placed on an airplane seat tray table. The background shows airplane seats and personal items.

Went here after hearing about it from a friend from Austin. Ordered burger meals with drinks for the people, very delicious and not to mention quick!. Onion rings were nice and crispy. Other than the price ($40 for three people), this place was as they say-top notch!.

Sooooo yummy!!!!!! The burgers, fries, and the sauces are all amazing!!!! Our diet cokes were nice and crispy too!

The burgers, fries, and sauces were all amazing!!!! Our diet cokes were nice and crispy too! Great spot!!

The menu - A menu board at a fast-food stand displays various food options including burgers, fried chicken, and sides such as fries and onion rings. Promotional signs at the top advertise apple or cherry pies and cold brew coffee milkshakes. The board is mounted on a red pole under a metal roof, with a parking lot and vehicles visible in the background.

Go to Top Notch. Eat & Drink at Top Notch. Be happy. This is what Austin is about. Good food, good people, and a great experience.

    The best onion rings.
    Jana N.

Best onion rings in town. They are freshly made by hand. So is the fried chicken. The burgers are charbroiled which is difficult to find in Austin unless you go to bk. I'm going to have to try the shake next time.

Burger - A cheeseburger featuring two beef patties, melted yellow cheese, shredded lettuce, and a soft, slightly cracked bun. The burger is placed on white parchment paper, with the focus on the ingredients and bun, highlighting the layered composition of the sandwich.

Ask the Community - Top Notch

How much are the beer and wine before tax?

you need to call them and ask them.

It's December 2020, what's the Dine In situation here? Top Notch to-go never holds up to the travel time back home.

    Open to dine in

I am confused the on-line ordering said on the Weight Watch Special indicates 10.39 as the new price and on a photo of the new menu board it said Weight Watcher Special is 8.99 so which is the correct price for that menu item?

    Are they open For Takeout?

No, Top Notch and Galaxy are closed during the crisis

Do they have beer? if so how much before tax?

Yes, they have beers. They have rotating local cans. Not sure of the price.

Can u also add Cheese to a Burger or Sandwich if so how much?

    Yes, maybe a dollar extra?

On the Dinner Plates like the Chicken Fried Steak and the Grilled Chicken Plate can u sub the fries for another side like Mashed Potatoes if so is there a upcharge and if so what is the upcharge?

    Yes. Depends on the side.

Are there any healthy options at this place? Thanks!

I saw on the menu veggie burger, and chicken salad sandwich. There may be more.

I recently got try Austin's newest chicken sandwich spot: Chicka Boom and damn, did I enjoy the…read morefood. What you get here are chicken sandwiches that are different than what's primarily available such as: - Chicka Boom Sandwich: a Karaage-style (lightly battered) fried chicken thigh infused overnight in sake, soy, and Japanese herbs and spices, with an assortment of veggies, yuzu (think: lemon) aioli, and yuzu slaw. ($12.99) - Chicken Katsu Sandwich: a Katsu-style (panko bread crumb crusted) chicken breast with goat cheese, yuzu aioli, and apple slaw. ($12.99) The main difference here aside from the variation of the veggies would be the texture. Chicka Boom would be a lot more lighter and softer. Katsu would be crunchier! Can't go wrong with both, but if I had to pick: Chicka Boom is my fav. Plus you get to choose a sauce when you order and you GOT to get the Triple Herb ranch which is made of garden mint, basil, and cilantro - it's TOO GOOD!! The yuzu honey aioli is a good runner up as well, the sweet creamy sauce would be a contrast to the herbal one above. You can also get: - Karaage-Style Popcorn Chicken: similar sentiments to what I said above - good choice if you don't want a sandwich! ($11.99 for the large with no toppings) - Tater Tots: this has a blend of spices and sauces, what's more to say? Just look at the picture. They were a welcome addition to my meal. ($8.99 for "all the way") - Mac Daddy (COMING SOON!): think about the oriental blend of herbs and sauces you've seen throughout the sandwiches now imagine them with creamy, rich delicious mac & cheese. This was addicting! It's not on the menu yet, but stay tuned because it will soon! All in all, you get good food from a chef that has years of culinary experience and she knows the ins and outs of the chicken sandwich industry. I highly suggest you give Chicka Boom a try. They are only available for delivery where you can find them on DoorDash today and other services very soon! They get a 5/5 in my book for being amazing.

Today, with a BOGO coupon in hand, I did. It's a counter-order fast-food type setup, but I thought it strange that the big menu board didn't mention prices. I had to search around to find that info, in a battered 8x10 frame on the wall. Hmm. $13 for a meal of 3 tenders and fries, with no drink or biscuit included? Seemed a bit much. I got mine to go, and asked for one order of original and one of spicy tenders, but at home, neither of us could tell the difference, so I guess they didn't give me spicy. The tenders varied in size from big to skimpy, but were fresh and tasty--though I would have liked to try the spicy type. The fries were also good, a nice medium cut, in between the dreaded shoestring and chunky steak fry. The sauces we got were good, but if you use a lot, looks like they charge "Just 99 cents!" for an extra tablespoonful. With my BOGO, the price seemed about right. But at their posted price point, (which seems designed to go up at a moment's notice) I'm much more likely to spend that much for table service and excellent chicken a few blocks further north on Burnet--or half that for Cane's or Popeyes, if I want to order at a counter and eat out of a box.
