I went here with some friends for the late night half-price appetizers and $2 bar burgers. The chicken quesadilla I had was very good, stuffed with cheese and chicken and had a nice flavor. Even the sour cream wasn't plain which added flavor. The $2 bar burger (which, with some additions came to $3.70) was also pretty decent for a burger in general, especially a burger so cheap. Overall, the food was very good, and there are things on the menu that I'd like to go back and try. However, the one star was taken away because the wait staff seem like zombies. My friends have told me this is typical, and our waitress never once smiled at us and service was blah. For one, the place is very dark and has a very dim atmosphere. You cannot see what you are eating. Also, they do not honor their coupons. I purchased one of those coupon books from the high school football fundraiser, these cards offer various restaurant and local shop discounts or free items. Wetherlaine's coupon offered a "free appetizer" with the purchase of a meal...I ordered a meal and was charged for the appetizer, when I asked why I was charged...they claimed it could not be a "to go" order. Wow....this place is usually a nice spot to get a meal and meet up with friends but when we got there we were served by the rudest waitress. Late 40's, heavy set, dark hair and angry. My friends have never been there and felt like they were being discriminated against because they were a gay couple. She ignored drink requests. Walked away while we were in the middle of speaking. She was not friendly and never smiled or acknowledged when we said thank you. At the end of the meal when my husband was packing up our child to take him home (the ladies were staying behind for our second beer), she walks over and throws down a bag and says "for the baby". Um, ok. Thanks for finally attempting to give good service with your continued attitude but it was already too late to make up for the experience. As for why I didn't say anything while we were there...this woman seemed like she was spoiling for a fight. We were just trying to have a nice afternoon together to catch up and I didn't want to get into it with an unstable person that was handling our food. gem in Attleboro after a trip to Emerald Square Mall. We tried so many dishes that first visit and everything was amazing! It was decided that night that we would come back every year during our holiday shopping excursions. We are going to be back for our third year in about 2 weeks, and both of us have already begun discussing what we will order. The menu has so many options, and it all tastes so good. I am hoping to eventually have tried the entire menu, but it will take a few more years, for sure. The restaurant is so cozy and has such a nice, personal feel and all of the folks working there are so friendly and helpful if you have any questions, or if you bring a picky diner with you. This is truly a local gem in Attleboro that has won our hearts (and our stomachs) and we hope to come back for many years to come. After chatting with my local bartender about this place I decided to give it a try. On Saturday, August 15, my partner and I decided to head here for dinner. We were greeted at the door by very friendly hostess and seated in a very homey atmosphere in the back room next to the window. We were greeted promptly by our server and asked if we wanted bread and oil , something to drink and if we have chosen any appetizers yet. Indeed we both ordered beer we got some bread and oil and our appetizers. Everything was delicious. We both ordered sirloin tips for an entrée which was also delicious. Here are the menu items I recommend: buffalo tenders or buffalo chicken sandwich, steak Caesar salad (they make their own croutons) and tips and chicken pasta. It feels like this restaurant has been around for ages and this was my first visit. I would say it is Fine. They have many options on the menu and had specials. Everything was fine, except maybe the service which was outstanding. My dinner wasn't what I expected (petite filet with wedge salad) but it was, you guessed it, fine. My friend ordered a surf & turf Ceasar salad. It looked nothing like I expected but she loves it and has it often. My martini was bland but abundant. My bf and I were trying to decide on someplace to go that was new on a Saturday night at 7pm where the wait wasn't going to be long. Our usual go to is Hong Kong Treasure in Attleboro and on the same road as this restaurant. We walked in and it was probably more like 7:30 at this point and the hostess seated us right away. The walk ways between the tables are very narrow and could be hard to maneuver if you are someone with ambulatory issues. We were seated in the back of the restaurant and it was pretty busy at the time. The waitress was prompt, pleasant and quick to answer any questions we might have had about the menu. She knew what was on tap. We ordered the Truffle and Parmesan potato chips. Apparently to my boyfriend's dismay. I misunderstood disagreement for agreement on the choice of appetizer, or did I? They were good. The chips were crunchy and fresh. There might have been a smidge too much of the topping but it was good. Considering he didn't want them he did his share. I went a little crazy on this outing and got the surf & turf Caesar. It consists of a 5oz filet covered in sauteed shrimp with basil and tomato and 1/2 a caesar salad. The filet was cook perfectly and was enough that I took 1/2 of it home. The shrimp were a good size and there quite a few on there. It was surprising because usually when you get something like this at a restaurant they skimp on the shrimp. The restaurant was quite busy for a Wednesday evening. We ordered chowder which was creamy and well stocked. My wife had the chicken fajitas(covered with cheese). I had the fish & chips. The portions are abundant and tasty. My fish was a large filet, fried with a thin batter crust. The fajitas were served with the typical sides of tomatoes, salsa and sour cream. The sizzling platter of chicken, onions and peppers was enormous. On Wednesday there is a $3.00 discount on fajitas and pizza. This place is worth the trip. read more

Really enjoyed my first-time experience here. Shrimp scampi was wonderful as well as the fish and chips. Reasonable prices. However, someone in our party had an allergy, and I just wish they would not fry everything in the same type of oil--our options as a result of that we're a bit restricted at that point. This place has the best chilli I've EVER had! Tons of shredded beef, just the right amount of heat and cheese. Tastes great the next day too! Love this neighborhood gem. The worst,and most disrespecting dining experience I've ever had. I live two streets away from this place,and decided to stay local for my birthday,so we ate at Wetherlaines. Being Portuguese American,and living 36 out of my 37 years in the New Bedford area gives me a good idea how seafood even the worst prepared is supposed to taste like,and how to be cooked.I ordered the seafood casserole my wife the baked stuffed scallops (hers was good) what I received was this watery, cold,soup like bowl of something that wasn't appealing at all. I got a little less then half way through the main dish,and couldn't take it anymore,so I pushed the plate aside,and asked for menu to order a turkey club to go,so we were not in there all night eating. At this point I'm annoyed,but chalking it up as a bad plate,and not expecting or even going to ask them about them taking it off the bill. The waitress asked me if anything was wrong,and I was honest,and said it was disgusting,and the cook needs to work on his seafood casserole. Ordered the turkey club,and almost immediately after I started noticing little things from the people walking out from kitchen like them looking directly in my direction when exiting the kitchen etc. After sitting for ten minutes while my wife finished her food I saw our waitress with the most devious cocky smirk on her face walk out kitchen with my to go sandwich and fries. I immediately told my wife they screwed with that food. Her answer was why? You were not rude or disrespecting. We get bill I noticed they took off my original dinner off bill and we leave. I drive 1 minute to get home,and open the container all I see is dark brown fries. If you worked at a restaurant you know what the junk fries that fall out of basket, just soak in oil,and keep slow cooking from heat of the fryer. How wetherlaines has no reviews is beyond me. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND EVER!! I've been trying to stay away from this place for a while now. The food, per the usual, was rather greasy and took way too long to come out even though only 3 tables were sat. The waitress had to tell the hostess how to do her job which, apparently, requires them to scream across the restaurant. I ordered the awkwardly stacked clam basket which, by the time it was in front of me, was ruined. The few poorly fried, possibly under cooked gritty SHELLfish destroyed the fries underneath while the tarter sauce and coleslaw squished the clams in their paper ramekins. To no surprise, I chomped down on a shell fraction only to have a toothache for the evening. The only reason I give this place 3 stars is because my boyfriend and company enjoyed their burgers. Unfortunately, according to the menu, each burger came with onion rings/straws (thinly sliced and fried onions) until you speak to the waitress who informed us it would cost an extra dollar. Hell, give me sweet potato fries if I have to pay another dollar on top of a $10+ burger! This place has two very big things going for it. 1) The prices are pretty good for what you get and 2) It's within stumbling distance of my house. This is an excellent local hangout. It's a great place to go for beer and food for those who live in the area. Always solid, but rarely spectacular, it's what you'd except from the type of place that it is. The type of food they serve is good because chicken wings, fried cheese, and burgers served with beer are always going to be good. My wife and I tried going out on the Friday of Memorial Day weekend. Most of the restaurants we went had long waits. We ended up a Wetherlaine's - a place we had never been before. This place was packed but we got seated within 10 minutes of arriving. Our waitress was very pleasant and attentive. Good service throughout the meal. I ordered a stuffed quahog for an appetizer and my wife ordered the buffalo shrimp. The quahog was devoid of clams and very dry. The buffalo shrimp, however, were cooked to perfection and just spicy enough. There was plenty of blue cheese dip for this generous portion. We both shared their tortilla crust pizza. We order the tomato and garlic. The pizza was light and delicious. I'd recommend that the restaurant change the recipe for the stuffed quahogs. The rest of the meal was delicious and the service was excellent. We would definitely return. read more

We live locally and this is always our go to restaurant! Friendly staff and never ever had a bad meal. Food is always excellent. We love the clam chowder, fish and chips, fajitas, our favorite apps are the provolone wedges and the onion strings. Such a great menu with lots of options for every taste and generous portions and great prices! We have had great service consistently. We go at least once a week and have always had excellent food. I sat at the bar recently. It was a Monday night and there were about 6 people at the bar and the restaurant seemed to be about 3/4 full. I ordered a cheese burger & fries with a bud light bottle. The bartender told me they don't sell bud light in a bottle but they did have it on draft. I'm not a fan of draft beer so I decided on a diet coke. The burger came out pretty quickly. I was pleasantly surprised at how big it was. It was cooked perfect. The fries were really good also. I would have liked to give this place 3 and a half stars because they deserved it. I have been here before and found the food to be pretty good. The only issue is sometimes the food isn't consistent. Next time you're thinking about eating at one of the chain restaurants I would suggest giving Weatherlaine's a try. Just as good as most if not better. Fun family atmosphere. read more

Don't let the look of this place fool you, it may look like some hole-in-the-wall dive with kitschy decor and terrible lighting, but the food! My husband and I had been talking about trying this place for years, but never got around to it. This year on our anniversary the van wouldn't start, ruining our plans for a day of celebration and good food. We decided to make the best of it and walk over to Wetherlaine's and give them a shot. It was a beautiful day, so why not. The decor of the place kept our expectations low, We reviewed the menu, and there were plenty of options. He got the prime rib and I ordered the wasabi tuna. When the plates arrived I was amazed by the presentation. The plates were really well presented and visually appealing. The tuna was simply perfect, drizzled with a wasabi sauce they was better than the wasabi in any asian restaurant I have even been to. I have eaten in many restaurants, some with five star ratings, and I'm a very picky person when it comes to my food, but the food here was amazing. If it weren't for the cramped seating and drab, depressing decor, I would have given this place five stars. The blackened salmon salad was fabulous tonight! An old favorite menu item at my favorite restaurant in Attleboro! The salmon was blackened and crunchy on the outside and moist and delicious on the inside. My husband ordered the prime rib (Thursday's special) and it was cooked a perfect medium rare. They are always right on the money at this place with a warm and friendly waitstaff to boot! My girlfriend recently moved to Attleboro and were have been trying all the reataurants in the area. We have been to Wetherlaine's twice now and both times the food was not good quality. The first time we ordered an appetizer and dinner. The chicken that was used for the meals was low quality. A few times I was chewing and had something crunch in my mouth. My girlfriend's chicken was half good meat and half skin/cartiledge. It was disgusting to look at. They're either buying low quality meat or not removing all of the fat properly before cooking. But, even after that bad experience I convinced her to give the place another shot because it's so convenient and it's never fair to rate a place negatively after only one experience. So we tried it again and this time went with wings and pizza. The wings were good but how do you mess up wings! Unfortunately, the pizza was under cooked and the dough in the center was gooey and not cooked at all. There is no chance that we'll return. read more

Weatherlaines. Right down the street from me so thankfully its a pretty good place to get some eats. They have american brew's cheap (I believe a bud light pint is 2 dollars) and the food is pretty good. I've never had the steak tips but been few times were people in my company have gotten them and they always say they are good. Every time I have gone I have gotten the buffalo chicken Alfredo. It consists of crispy buffalo chicken in a creamy buffalo sauce with a piece of garlic bread with bleu cheese crumbles on top. i absolutely love it. It often annoys me when people are always getting the same thing when they go to a restaurant, but i'm one of those people at this place. Word of warning though, it seems to be a taste that is not for everyone. Most people who have had the same meal as me have said they love it, but one person told me it was one of the most disguisting things they've ever eaten. Well to each his own I guess, so proceed with caution. Can't really go wrong with a burger there either. My only qualm would be that they only really have one really nice TV and the TV's around the bar aren't really that nice. A few more TV's would probably do the place well.
