    Receipt showing no cheese

Went to get a pickup order today. It is a 20 minute drive each way to do so. Requested no cheese on salad (allergy)- slip said no cheese, we confirmed with the person who gave us the order verbally there was no cheese- and there is cheese. Called and they offered either a cash refund (since we paid in cash) or a new salad. It's a 40 minute drive round trip. We go out of our way to go here because we like the food. Asked if they could deliver it but we were outside the delivery range. There is a store policy to not issue a credit for a future salad or meal. Very disappointed. The manager did apologize but said there is nothing else they could do other than offer the above.

I love Briggs as a former employee I can say this is one of the best restaurants in the local area! Incredible dishes, even better drinks. Great service. Extremely nice dining area. Briggs is the best most consistent restaurant in the area time and time again!

They were quick to accommodate 27 of us coming from a funeral. Service was quick, friendly and efficient. Salad was delicious and so was the pumpkin martini! We were seated in a large room off the bar area. We ordered 17 large pizzas and the food came out fast and hot. Overall a very good stop on very very short notice.

Deep red walls, wide-plank floors, framed portraits of people long gone, a fireplace; this place has the kind of character you simply can't manufacture. Add a live jazz duo playing piano and upright bass in the corner and the atmosphere is close to perfect. We settled in at the bar, which has a decent whiskey selection, and started with cocktails. We also shared the kale and butternut squash salad; we asked them to add a goat cheese medallion from their spinach salad, and honestly it was the right call. That bright, creamy note was exactly what the salad needed...or maybe what I needed. I do love fried goat cheese on a salad. Either way, it was perfect. Then came the cranberry rolls, which were the quiet star of the afternoon; crunchy on the outside, soft and flavorful inside. Don't skip these. For mains, I had the breakfast skillet, which is essentially everything but the kitchen sink loaded into a cast iron pan. Heavily loaded with meat (Arby's would be jealous), homefried potatoes with satisfying crusty bits, a couple over medium eggs, and served sizzling hot. The cheese sauce draped over the top was lighter than you'd expect, landing somewhere between a béarnaise and a classic cheese sauce; it kept the whole thing from getting too heavy. It took a while to work through, and that's not a complaint. My partner had the butternut squash and brown butter sage ravioli. It was well-cooked, flavorful, not too rich, though a little more sage would have put it over the top. The bartender had a good sense of humor and clearly knew his way around the bar. The problem was that he was doing too much; he appeared to be his own bar back, serving the six people at the bar, waiting on the tables within the lounge area, and it appeared he was covering other tables outside of the lounge area as well. He was often away, and with salad plates, appetizer plates, and menus sitting in front of us long after they were needed, the clutter added up. Pre-bussing costs nothing and makes a real difference. Tighten up the staffing model and this place is a very easy five. If you're in the area, you should stop in and check it out for yourself. I'm not sure if the jazz duo on Sunday brunch is a regular occurrence, but if it is, you should definitely make a point of it. They were wrapping up around 2:30-3:00 and it made the whole afternoon feel like something a little more special than just brunch.

After doing some research, we came across chick'n boba, a new restaurant in town. The parking lot can fit about 15-20 cars (I am not sure if it is a shared lot with surrounding businesses), but there is also street parking. There are about 3 tables, and some high chairs facing outside for seating. The menu has about 12 different meals, appetizers, and about 12 different boba / tea options - with almost everything being under $12. Since they're still new, they did have some deals. We ordered 2 small taro milk tea with tapioca, 2 spicy chicken sandwiches, and fries, all for $24. After about 10-15 minutes we got our order. All of it was nice and hot. I liked that they wrap their sandwiches half way so you can hold it. I noticed the cheese on the chicken sandwich was not melted, and it had jalapeños to make it spicy. It would have been better if the cheese was melted and if the jalapeños were infused into the sauce. I wish there was more of the sauce it did have because it was delicious. The bun was nice and soft, and the chicken was perfectly crispy and moist. The fries were delicious and had just the right amount of salt. I did not realize until after that they have sauces on the menu (I would have ordered some for the fries). I have never liked tapioca but these were so good. They were soft and actually had a good flavor. I am used to tough and flavorless. The taro was sweet but not anything overwhelming. I would definitely come back for more.

I ordered the Chicken Francaise, described as "flour breaded, egg-dipped, sautéed chicken cutlets with a lemon-butter and white wine sauce, served with jasmine rice and greens." Unfortunately, the dish delivered bore little resemblance to that description. The "greens" appeared to be little more than a handful of bagged grocery store salad mix dumped onto the plate, complete with brown, wilted lettuce. It was unappetizing to look at and ultimately inedible. The chicken itself was bland and flavorless. Rather than the bright, balanced lemon flavor that Chicken Francaise is known for, the overwhelming taste was simply butter. The sauce lacked the smooth, velvety texture traditionally associated with a good francaise sauce and seemed hastily prepared. The jasmine rice was equally disappointing. It had none of the fragrant, floral qualities that distinguish jasmine rice from ordinary white rice. It tasted like plain boiled rice with no seasoning or character. At nearly $24, I expected a much higher-quality meal. This was, without question, the worst dish I've had here and felt like a complete miss from the kitchen. The one bright spot of the evening was the cocktail. I ordered the Pear Flower Martini, and it was absolutely excellent--perfectly balanced, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. The bar program continues to impress and was easily the highlight of the meal. One additional disappointment was learning that the restaurant adds a 3% surcharge for credit card payments. While I understand businesses have the right to offset processing costs, this was not pointed out when the check was presented. I only learned about it because I specifically asked. I was told the charge is removed if you pay with cash or a debit card. Transparency matters, and this should be clearly disclosed when guests receive their bill rather than requiring them to notice and question it themselves. I hope this was simply an off night because the quality of this meal was nowhere near what I've come to expect from this restaurant.
